"Of our fathers"

  1.   3 And if they be married to any of the sons of the other tribes of the children of Israel, then shall their inheritance be taken from the inheritance of our fathers, and shall be aput to the inheritance of the tribe whereunto they are received: so shall it be taken from the lot of our inheritance.
      4 And when the ajubile of the children of Israel shall be, then shall their binheritance be put unto the inheritance of the tribe whereunto they are received: so shall their inheritance be taken away from the inheritance of the tribe of our fathers.
  2.   7 And when we acried unto the Lord God of our fathers, the Lord bheard our voice, and looked on our affliction, and our labour, and our coppression:
  3.   17 And David went out to meet them, and answered and said unto them, If ye be come peaceably unto me to help me, mine heart shall be knit unto you: but if ye be come to betray me to mine enemies, seeing there is no wrong in mine hands, the God of our fathers look thereon, and rebuke it.
  4.   18 O Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, our fathers, keep this for ever in the imagination of the thoughts of the heart of thy people, and prepare their heart unto thee:
  5.   6 And said, O Lord God of our fathersart not thou God in heaven? and rulest not thou over all the kingdoms of the heathen? and in thine hand is there not power and might, so that none is able to withstand thee?
  6.   27 ¶ Blessed be the Lord God of our fathers, which hath put such a thing as this in the king’s heart, to abeautify the house of the Lord which is in Jerusalem:
  7.   7 Since the days of our fathers have we been in a great trespass unto this day; and for our iniquities have we, our kings, and our priests, been delivered into the hand of the kings ofthe lands, to the sword, to captivity, and to a spoil, and to aconfusion of face, as it is this day.
  8.   9 And didst see the aaffliction of our fathers in Egypt, and heardest their cry by the bRed sea;
  9.   34 And we acast the lots among the priests, the Levites, and the people, for the bwood offering, to bring it into the house of our God, after the houses of our fathers, at times appointed year by year, to burn upon the altar of the Lord our God, as it is written in the law:
  10.   24 For shame hath devoured the labour of our fathers from our youth; their flocks and their herds, their sons and their daughters.
  11.   20 We aacknowledge, O Lordour wickedness, and the iniquity of our fathers: for we have bsinned against thee.
  12.   16 ¶ O Lord, according to all thy arighteousness, I beseech thee, let thine anger and thy fury be turned away from thy city Jerusalem, thy holy bmountain: because for our sins, and for the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and thy people are become a creproach to all that are about us.
  13.   10 Have we not all one afather? hath not one God bcreated us? why do we deal treacherously every man against his brother, by cprofaning the covenant of our fathers?
  14.   30 And say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the aprophets.
  15.   13 The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath aglorified his Son Jesus; whom ye bdelivered up, and cdenied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let him go.
  16.   30 The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and ahanged on a tree.
  17.   45 Which also our fathers that came after brought in with aJesus into the possession of the Gentiles, whom God drave out before the face of our fathers, unto the days of David;
  18.   14 And he said, The God of our fathers hath chosen thee, that thou shouldest know his awill, and see that Just One, and shouldest hear the voice of his mouth.
  19.   17 And it came to pass, that after three days Paul called the chief of the Jews together: and when they were come together, he said unto them, Men and brethren, though I have committed nothing against the people, or customs of our fathers, yet was I delivered prisoner from Jerusalem into the hands of the Romans.
  20.   16 Wherefore, let us be faithful in keeping the commandments of the Lord; therefore let us go down to the land of our father’s ainheritance, for behold he left gold and silver, and all manner of riches. And all this he hath done because of the bcommandments of the Lord.

      19 And behold, it is wisdom in God that we should obtain these arecords, that we may preserve unto our children the language of our fathers;
  21.   10 And the aGod of our fathers, who were bled out of Egypt, out of bondage, and also were preserved in the wilderness by him, yea, the cGod of Abraham, and of Isaac, and the Godof Jacob, dyieldeth himself, according to the words of the angel, as a man, into the hands of ewicked men, to be flifted up, according to the words of gZenock, and to be hcrucified, according to the words of Neum, and to be buried in a isepulchre, according to the words of jZenos, which he spake concerning the three days of kdarkness, which should be a sign given of his death unto those who should inhabit the isles of the sea, more especially given unto those who are of the lhouse of Israel.
  22.   14 For at the present our strugglings were avain in restoring them to the true faith. And they swore in their wrath that, if it were possible, they would bdestroy our records and us, and also all the traditions of our fathers.
  23.   9 Now I, Chemish, write what few things I write, in the same book with my brother; for behold, I saw the last which he wrote, that he wrote it with his own hand; and he wrote it in the day that he delivered them unto me. And after this manner we keep the arecords, for it is according to the commandments of our fathers. And I make an end.
  24.   6 O my sons, I would that ye should remember that these sayings are true, and also that these records are atrue. And behold, also the plates of Nephi, which contain the records and the sayings of our fathers from the time they left Jerusalem until now, and they are true; and we can know of their surety because we have them before our eyes.
          •  •  •
      14 For I say unto you, that if he had not extended his arm in the preservation of our fathers they must have fallen into the hands of the Lamanites, and become victims to their hatred.
  25.   14 And ye will not suffer your achildren that they go hungry, or naked; neither will ye bsuffer that they transgress the laws of God, and fight and cquarrel one with another, and serve the devil, who is the master of sin, or who is the devil spirit which hath been spoken of by our fathers, he being an enemy to all righteousness.
  26.   1 aI, bZeniff, having been taught in all the language of the Nephites, and having had a knowledge of the land of cNephi, or of the land of our fathers’ first inheritance, and having been sent as a spy among the Lamanites that I might spy out their forces, that our army might come upon them and destroy them—but when I saw that which was good among them I was desirous that they should not be destroyed.
          •  •  •
      3 And yet, I being aover-zealous to inherit the land of our fathers, collected as many as were desirous to go up to possess the land, and started again on our bjourney into the wilderness to go up to the land; but we were smitten with famine and sore afflictions; for we were slow to remember the Lord our God.
      4 Nevertheless, after many days’ wandering in the wilderness we pitched our tents in the place where our brethren were slain, which was near to the land of our fathers.
          •  •  •
      17 Yea, in the astrength of the Lord did we go forth to battle against the Lamanites; for I and my people did cry mightily to the Lord that he would bdeliver us out of the hands of ourenemies, for we were awakened to a remembrance of the deliverance of our fathers.
  27.   3 And it came to pass that we did inherit the land of our fathers for many years, yea, for the space of twenty and two years.
  28.   30 I rejected my Redeemer, and denied that which had been spoken of by our fathers; but now that they may foresee that he will come, and that he remembereth every creature of his creating, he will make himself manifest unto aall.
  29.   26 And it shall be made known unto ajust and holy men, by the mouth of angels, at the time of his coming, that the words of our fathers may be fulfilled, according to that which they have spoken concerning him, which was according to the spirit of prophecy which was in them.
  30.   4 And now, when the king heard these words, he said unto them: Now I know that it is the Great Spirit; and he has come down at this time to preserve your lives, that I might not aslayyou as I did your brethren. Now this is the Great Spirit of whom our fathers have spoken.
  31.   7 Now, these are the words which he said unto the people concerning the matter: I thank my God, my beloved people, that our great God has in goodness sent these our brethren, the Nephites, unto us to preach unto us, and to convince us of the atraditions of our wicked fathers.
  32.   2 I would that ye should do as I have done, in remembering the captivity of our fathers; for they were in abondage, and none could bdeliver them except it was the cGod of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob; and he surely did deliver them in their afflictions.
  33.   20 Have ye forgotten the commandments of the Lord your God? Yea, have ye forgotten the captivity of our fathers? Have ye forgotten the many times we have been delivered out ofthe hands of our enemies?
  34.   22 Our father Lehi was driven out of Jerusalem because he atestified of these things. Nephi also testified of these things, and also almost all of our fathers, even down to this time; yea, they have testified of the bcoming of Christ, and have looked forward, and have rejoiced in his day which is to come.
  35.   25 And now when ye talk, ye say: If our days had been in the days of our afathers of old, we would not have bslain the prophets; we would not have stoned them, and cast them out.
  36.   11 Yea, even if they should dwindle in unbelief the Lord shall aprolong their days, until the time shall come which hath been spoken of by our fathers, and also by the prophetbZenos, and many other prophets, concerning the crestoration of our brethren, the Lamanites, again to the knowledge of the truth—
