Fight against

  1.   10 Come on, let us deal awisely with them; lest they multiply, and it come to pass, that, when there bfalleth out any war, they join also unto our enemies, and fight against us, and so get them up out of the land.
  2.   1 And when aking bArad the Canaanite, which dwelt in the csouth, heard tell that Israel came by the way of dthe spies; then he fought against Israel, and took some of them prisoners.

      23 And aSihon would not suffer Israel to pass through his bborder: but Sihon gathered all his people together, and went out against Israel into the wilderness: and he came to Jahaz, and fought against Israel.

      26 For Heshbon was the city of Sihon the king of the Amorites, who had fought against the former king of Moab, and taken all his land out of his hand, even unto Arnon.
  3.   10 ¶ When thou comest nigh unto a city to afight against it, then proclaim bpeace unto it.
  4.   29 Then Joshua passed from Makkedah, and all Israel with him, unto Libnah, and fought against aLibnah:

      36 And Joshua went up from Eglon, and all Israel with him, unto Hebron; and they fought against it:

      38 ¶ And Joshua returned, and all Israel with him, to aDebir; and fought against it:
  5.   5 And when all these kings were met together, they came and pitched together at the waters of Merom, to fight against Israel.
  6.   47 And the coast of the children of Dan went out too little for them: therefore the children of Dan went up to fight against Leshem, and took it, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and possessed it, and dwelt therein, and called Leshem, Dan, after the name of Dan their father.
  7.   11 And ye went over Jordan, and came unto aJericho: and the men of Jericho fought against you, the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Girgashites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites; and I delivered them into your hand.
  8.   1 Now after the death of Joshua it came to pass, that the children of Israel asked the Lord, saying, Who shall go up for us against the Canaanites first, to fight against them?

      3 And Judah said unto Simeon his brother, Come up with me into my lot, that we may fight against the Canaanites; and I likewise will go with thee into thy lot. So Simeon went with him.

      5 And they found Adoni-bezek in Bezek: and they fought against him, and they slew the Canaanites and the Perizzites.

      8 Now the children of Judah had fought against Jerusalem, and had taken it, and smitten it with the edge of the sword, and set the city on fire.
      9 ¶ And afterward the children of Judah went down to fight against the Canaanites, that dwelt in the mountain, and in the south, and in the valley.
  9.   20 They fought from heaven; the stars in their courses fought against Sisera.
  10.   45 And Abimelech fought against the city all that day; and he took the city, and slew the people that was therein, and beat down the city, and asowed it with salt.

      52 And Abimelech came unto the tower, and fought against it, and went hard unto the door of the tower to burn it with fire.
  11.   9 Moreover, the children of Ammon passed over Jordan to fight also against Judah, and against Benjamin, and against the house of Ephraim; so that Israel was sore distressed.

      18 And the people and princes of Gilead said one to another, What man is he that will begin to fight against the children of Ammon? he shall be head over all the inhabitants of Gilead.
  12.   8 And the elders of Gilead said unto Jephthah, Therefore we turn again to thee now, that thou mayest go with us, and fight against the children of Ammon, and be our head over all the inhabitants of Gilead.
      9 And Jephthah said unto the elders of Gilead, If ye bring me home again to fight against the children of Ammon, and the Lord deliver them before me, ashall I be your head?

      20 But Sihon trusted not Israel to pass through his acoast: but Sihon gathered all his people together, and pitched in Jahaz, and fought against Israel.
          •  •  •
      25 And now art thou any thing better than aBalak the son of Zippor, king of Moab? did he ever strive against Israel, or did he ever fight against them,
          •  •  •
      32 ¶ So Jephthah passed over unto the children of Ammon to fight against them; and the Lord delivered them into his hands.
  13.   1 And the men of Ephraim gathered themselves together, and went northward, and said unto Jephthah, Wherefore passedst thou over to fight against the children of Ammon, and didst not call us to go with thee? we will burn thine house upon thee with fire.

      3 And when I saw that ye delivered me not, I put my alife in my hands, and passed over against the children of Ammon, and the Lord delivered them into my hand: wherefore then are ye come up unto me this day, to fight against me?
  14.   20 And the men of Israel went out to battle against Benjamin; and the men of Israel put themselves in array to fight against them at Gibeah.
  15.   9 And when they forgat the Lord their God, he sold them into the hand of Sisera, captain of the host of Hazor, and into the hand of the Philistines, and into the hand of the king of Moab, and they fought against them.
  16.   47 ¶ So Saul took the kingdom over Israel, and fought against all his enemies on every side, against Moab, and against the children of Ammon, and against Edom, and against the kings of Zobah, and against the Philistines: and whithersoever he turned himself, he vexed them.
  17.   18 And the Lord sent thee on a journey, and said, Go and utterly destroy the sinners the Amalekites, and fight against them until they be consumed.
  18.   1 Then they told David, saying, Behold, the Philistines fight against aKeilah, and they rob the threshingfloors.
  19.   8 ¶ And David said unto Achish, But what have I done? and what hast thou found in thy servant so long as I have been with thee unto this day, that I may not go fight against the enemies of my lord the king?
  20.   1 Now the aPhilistines fought against Israel: and the men of Israel fled from before the Philistines, and fell down slain in mount Gilboa.
  21.   10 Then Toi sent Joram his son unto king David, to salute him, and to bless him, because he had fought against Hadadezer, and smitten him: for Hadadezer had wars with Toi. And Joram brought with him vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and vessels of brass:
  22.   26 ¶ And aJoab fought against Rabbah of the children of Ammon, and took the royal city.
      27 And Joab sent messengers to David, and said, I have fought against Rabbah, and have taken the city of waters.

      29 And David gathered all the people together, and went to Rabbah, and fought against it, and took it.
  23.   15 ¶ Moreover the Philistines had yet war again with Israel; and David went down, and his servants with him, and fought against the Philistines: and David waxed faint.
  24.   21 ¶ And when aRehoboam was come to Jerusalem, he assembled all the house of Judah, with the tribe of Benjamin, an hundred and fourscore thousand chosen men, which were warriors, to fight against the house of Israel, to bring the kingdom again to Rehoboam the son of Solomon.

      24 Thus saith the Lord, Ye shall not go up, nor fight against your abrethren the children of Israel: return every man to his house; for this thing is from me. They hearkened therefore to the word of the Lord, and returned to depart, according to the word of the Lord.
  25.   23 And the servants of the king of Syria said unto him, Their gods are gods of the hills; therefore they were stronger than we; but let us fight against them in the plain, and surely we shall be stronger than they.

      25 And number thee an army, like the army that thou hast lost, horse for horse, and chariot for chariot: and we will fight against them in the plain, and surely we shall be stronger than they. And he hearkened unto their voice, and did so.
      26 And it came to pass at the return of the year, that Ben-hadad numbered the Syrians, and went up to Aphek, to fight against Israel.
  26.   32 And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, that they said, Surely it is the king of Israel. And they turned aside to fight against him: and Jehoshaphat cried out.
  27.   21 ¶ And when all the Moabites heard that the kings were come up to fight against them, they gathered all that were able to put on armour, and upward, and stood in the border.
  28.   29 And king Joram went back to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds which the Syrians had given him at Ramah, when he fought against Hazael king of Syria. And Ahaziah the son of Jehoram king of Judah went down to see Joram the son of Ahab in Jezreel, because he was sick.
  29.   17 ¶ Then Hazael king of Syria went up, and fought against Gath, and took it: and Hazael set his face to go up to Jerusalem.
  30.   12 And the rest of the acts of Joash, and all that he did, and his might wherewith he fought against Amaziah king of Judah, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
  31.   9 And when he heard say of Tirhakah king of Ethiopia, Behold, he is come out to fight against thee: he sent messengers again unto Hezekiah, saying,
  32.   1 Now the aPhilistines fought against Israel; and the men of Israel fled from before the Philistines, and fell down slain in mount Gilboa.
  33.   10 He sent Hadoram his son to king David, to enquire of his welfare, and to congratulate him, because he had fought against Hadarezer, and smitten him; (for Hadarezer had war with Tou;) and with him all manner of vessels of gold and silver and brass.
  34.   1 And when aRehoboam was come to Jerusalem, he gathered of the house of Judah and Benjamin an hundred and fourscore thousand chosen men, which were warriors, to fight against Israel, that he might bring the kingdom again to Rehoboam.

      4 Thus saith the Lord, Ye shall not go up, nor fight against your brethren: return every man to his house: for this thing is done of me. And they obeyed the words of the Lord, and returned from going against Jeroboam.
  35.   29 And the fear of God was on all the kingdoms of those countries, when they had heard that the Lord fought against the enemies of Israel.
  36.   2 And when Hezekiah saw that Sennacherib was come, and that he was purposed to fight against Jerusalem,
  37.   20 ¶ After all this, when Josiah had prepared the temple, Necho king of Egypt came up to fight against Carchemish by Euphrates: and Josiah went out against him.
  38.   8 And conspired all of them together to come and to fight against Jerusalem, and to hinder it.
  39.   1 aPlead my cause, O Lord, with them that strive with me: bfight against them that fight against me.
  40.   2 Mine enemies would daily swallow me up: for they be many that fight against me, O thou most High.
  41.   3 They compassed me about also with words of hatred; and fought against me without a cause.
  42.   1 In the ayear that bTartan came unto Ashdod, (when Sargon the king of Assyria sent him,) and fought against Ashdod, and took it;
  43.   7 ¶ And the multitude of all the nations that fight against Ariel, even all that fight against her and her munition, and that distress her, shall be as a dream of a night vision.
      8 It shall even be as when an hungry man dreameth, and, behold, he eateth; but he awaketh, and his soul is empty: or as when a thirsty man dreameth, and, behold, he drinketh; but he awaketh, and, behold, he is faint, and his soul hath appetite: so shall the multitude of all the nations be, that afight against mount bZion.
  44.   10 ¶ But they arebelled, and bvexed his choly Spirit: therefore he was turned to be their denemy, and he fought against them.
  45.   19 And they shall afight against thee; but they shall not bprevail against thee; for I am with thee, saith the Lord, to deliver thee.
  46.   20 And I will make thee unto this people a afenced brasen wall: and they shall fight against thee, but they shall not prevail against thee: for I am with thee to bsave thee and to deliver thee, saith the Lord.
  47.   4 Thus saith the Lord God of Israel; Behold, I will turn back the weapons of war that are in your hands, wherewith ye fight against the king of Babylon, and against the Chaldeans, which besiege you awithout the walls, and I will assemble them into the midst of this city.
      5 And I myself will fight against you with an aoutstretched hand and with a strong arm, even in anger, and in fury, and in great wrath.
  48.   24 Behold the mounts, they are come unto the city to take it; and the city is given into the hand of the Chaldeans, that fight against it, because of the sword, and of the famine, and of the pestilence: and what thou hast spoken is come to pass; and, behold, thou seest it.

      29 And the Chaldeans, that fight against this city, shall come and set fire on this city, and burn it with the houses, upon whose aroofs they have offered incense unto Baal, and poured out drink offerings unto other gods, to provoke me to anger.
  49.   1 The word which came unto Jeremiah from the Lord, when Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and all his army, and all the kingdoms of the earth of his dominion, and all the people, fought against Jerusalem, and aagainst all the cities thereof, saying,

      7 When the king of Babylon’s army fought against Jerusalem, and against all the cities of Judah that were left, against Lachish, and against Azekah: for these defenced cities remained of the cities of Judah.

      22 Behold, I will command, saith the Lord, and cause them to return to this city; and they shall fight against it, and take it, and burn it with fire: and I will make the cities of Judah a desolation without an inhabitant.
  50.   8 And the Chaldeans shall come again, and fight against this city, and take it, and aburn it with fire.

      10 For though ye had smitten the whole army of the Chaldeans that fight against you, and there remained but wounded men among them, yet should they rise up every man in his tent, and burn this city with fire. 
    1.   3 Then shall the Lord go forth, and afight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.

        12 ¶ And this shall be the aplague wherewith the Lord will bsmite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth.
    2.   39 But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; alest haply ye be found even to bfight against God.
    3.   9 And there arose a great cry: and the ascribes that were of the Pharisees’ part arose, and strove, saying, We find no evil in this man: but if a spirit or an bangel hath spoken to him, let us not cfight against God.
    4.   16 Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.
    5.   7 And there was awar in heaven: bMichael and his cangels fought against the dragon; and the ddragon fought and his angels,
    6.   34 And after he was slain I saw the multitudes of the earth, that they were gathered together to afight against the apostles of the Lamb; for thus were the twelve called by the angel of the Lord.
        35 And the multitude of the earth was gathered together; and I beheld that they were in a large and spacious abuilding, like unto the building which my father saw. And the angel of the Lord spake unto me again, saying: Behold the world and the wisdom thereof; yea, behold the house of Israel hath gathered together to bfight against the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
        36 And it came to pass that I saw and bear record, that the great and spacious building was the apride of the world; and it bfell, and the fall thereof was exceedingly great. And the angel of the Lord spake unto me again, saying: Thus shall be the destruction of all nations, kindreds, tongues, and people, that shall fight against the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
    7.   13 And it came to pass that I beheld that the great mother of abominations did gather together multitudes upon the face of all the earth, among all the nations of the Gentiles, to afight against the Lamb of God.
    8.   14 And every anation which shall war against thee, O house of Israel, shall be turned one against another, and they shall bfall into the pit which they digged to ensnare the people of the Lord. And all that cfight against Zion shall be destroyed, and that great whore, who hath perverted the right ways of the Lord, yea, that great and abominable church, shall tumble to the ddust and great shall be the fall of it.

        19 For behold, the righteous shall not perish; for the time surely must come that all they who fight against Zion shall be cut off.
    9.   12 And blessed are the aGentiles, they of whom the prophet has written; for behold, if it so be that they shall repent and fight not against Zion, and do not unite themselves to that great and babominable church, they shall be saved; for the Lord God will fulfil his ccovenants which he has made unto his children; and for this cause the prophet has written these things.
        13 Wherefore, they that fight against Zion and the covenant people of the Lord shall lick up the dust of their feet; and the people of the Lord shall not be aashamed. For the people of the Lord are they who bwait for him; for they still wait for the coming of the Messiah.
    10.   13 And he that afighteth against Zion shall bperish, saith God.
            •  •  •
        16 Wherefore, he that afighteth against bZion, both Jew and Gentile, both bond and free, both male and female, cshall perish; for dthey are they who are the ewhore of all the earth; for fthey who are gnot for me are hagainst me, saith our God.
    11.   14 And behold it shall come to pass that after the aMessiah hath risen from the dead, and hath manifested himself unto his people, unto as many as will believe on his name, behold, Jerusalem shall be bdestroyed again; for cwo unto them that fight against God and the people of his dchurch.
    12.   3 And all the anations that bfight against Zion, and that distress her, shall be as a dream of a night vision; yea, it shall be unto them, even as unto a hungry man which dreameth, and behold he eateth but he awaketh and his soul is empty; or like unto a thirsty man which dreameth, and behold he drinketh but he awaketh and behold he is faint, and his soul hath appetite; yea, even so shall the multitude of all the nations be that fight against Mount Zion.
    13.   14 And it shall come to pass that my people, which are of the ahouse of Israel, shall be gathered home unto the blands of their possessions; and my word also shall be gathered in cone. And I will show unto them that fight against my word and against my dpeople, who are of the ehouse of Israel, that I am God, and that I fcovenanted with gAbraham that I would remember his hseed iforever.
    14.   2 Therefore, I contended with my brethren in the wilderness, for I would that our ruler should make a treaty with them; but he being an austere and a blood-thirsty man commanded that I should be slain; but I was rescued by the shedding of much blood; for father fought against father, and brother against brother, until the greater number of our army was destroyed in the wilderness; and we returned, those of us that were spared, to the land of Zarahemla, to relate that tale to their wives and their children.
    15.   16 And again: I will set a mark upon him that fighteth against thee and thy seed.
    16.   7 For they became a righteous people; they did lay down the weapons of their rebellion, that they did not fight against God any more, neither against any of their brethren.
    17.   18 And it came to pass that the armies did march forth against them; and they did pull down their pride and their nobility, insomuch that as they did lift their weapons of war to fight against the men of Moroni they were hewn down and leveled to the earth.
    18.   8 But as ye have once rejected these things, and have fought against the people of the Lord, even so I may expect you will do it again.
    19.   9 And the men of Pachus received their trial, according to the law, and also those king-men who had been taken and acast into prison; and they were bexecuted according to the law; yea, those men of Pachus and those cking-men, whosoever would not take up arms in the defence of their country, but would fight against it, were put to death.
    20.   34 Now Com did fight against them much; nevertheless, he did not prevail against them.
    21.   18 Wherefore, it came to pass that in the first year that Ether dwelt in the cavity of a rock, there were many people who were slain by the sword of those asecret combinations, fighting against Coriantumr that they might obtain the kingdom.

    23.   38 Behold, ere he is aware, he is left unto himself, to akick against the pricks, to bpersecute the saints, and to cfight against God.
    24.   15 And the agiants of the land, also, stood afar off; and there went forth a bcurse upon all people that fought against God;
