"For thus saith the Lord"

  1.   13 Up, asanctify the people, and say, bSanctify yourselves against to morrow: for thus saith the Lord God of Israel, There is an accursed thing in the midst of thee, O Israel: thou canst not stand before thine enemies, until ye take away the accursed thing from among you.
  2.   31 And he said to Jeroboam, Take thee ten pieces: for thus saith the Lord, the God of Israel, Behold, I will rend the kingdom out of the hand of Solomon, and will give aten tribes to thee:
  3.   14 For thus saith the Lord God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the Lord sendeth rain upon the earth.
  4.   17 For thus saith the Lord, Ye shall not see wind, neither shall ye see rain; yet that valley shall be filled with water, that ye may drink, both ye, and your cattle, and your beasts.
  5.   43 And his servitor said, What, should I set this before an hundred men? He said again, Give the people, that they may eat: for thus saith the Lord, They shall eat, and shall leave thereof.
  6.   15 For thus saith the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in aquietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and ye would not.
  7.   18 For thus saith the Lord that acreated the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be binhabited: I am the Lord; and there is none else.
  8.   3 For thus saith the Lord, Ye have asold yourselves for nought; and ye shall be redeemed without bmoney.
      4 For thus saith the Lord aGod, My people went down aforetime into bEgypt to sojourn there; and the Assyrian oppressed them without cause.
  9.   4 For thus saith the Lord unto the eunuchs that keep my sabbaths, and choose the things that please me, and take hold of my covenant;
  10.   12 For thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will extend peace to her alike a river, and the glory of the bGentiles like a flowing stream: then shall ye suck, ye shall be borne upon her sides, and be dandled upon her knees.
  11.   3 ¶ For thus saith the Lord to the men of Judah and Jerusalem, aBreak up your fallow ground, and sow not among bthorns.
  12.   18 For thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will sling out the inhabitants of the land at this once, and will distress them, that they may find it so.
  13.   3 For thus saith the Lord concerning the sons and concerning the daughters that are born in this place, and concerning their mothers that bare them, and concerning their fathers that begat them in this land;
          •  •  •
      5 For thus saith the Lord, Enter not into the house of amourning, neither go to lament nor bemoan them: for I have taken away my peace from this people, saith the Lord, even lovingkindness and mercies.
          •  •  •
      9 For thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will cause to cease out of this place in your eyes, and in your days, the voice of amirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride.
  14.   4 For thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will make thee a terror to thyself, and to all thy friends: and they shall fall by the sword of their enemies, and thine eyes shall behold it: and I will give all Judah into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall carry them acaptive into Babylon, and shall slay them with the sword.
  15.   6 For thus saith the Lord unto the king’s house of Judah; Thou art Gilead unto me, and the head of Lebanon: yet surely I will make thee a wilderness, and cities which are not inhabited.
          •  •  •
      11 For thus saith the Lord touching aShallum the son of Josiah king of Judah, which reigned instead of Josiah his father, which went forth out of this place; He shall not return thither any more:
  16.   15 ¶ For thus saith the Lord God of Israel unto me; Take the wine acup of this fury at my hand, and cause all the bnations, to whom I send thee, to drink it.
  17.   19 ¶ For thus saith the Lord of hosts concerning the apillars, and concerning the bsea, and concerning the cbases, and concerning the residue of the vessels that remain in this city,
  18.   14 For thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; I have put a ayoke of iron upon the neck of all these nations, that they may serve bNebuchadnezzar king of Babylon; and they shall serve him: and I have given him the cbeasts of the field also.
  19.   8 ¶ For thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Let not your prophets and your adiviners, that be in the midst of you, deceive you, neither hearken to your bdreams which ye cause to be dreamed.
          •  •  •
      10 ¶ For thus saith the Lord, That after aseventy years be accomplished at Babylon I will visit you, and bperform my good word toward you, in causing you to creturn to this place.
  20.   5 For thus saith the Lord; We have heard a voice of trembling, of fear, and not of peace.
          •  •  •
      12 For thus saith the Lord, aThy bruise is incurable, and thy wound is grievous.
  21.   7 For thus saith the Lord; Sing with gladness for Jacob, and shout among the chief of the nations: publish ye, praise ye, and say, O Lord, asave thy people, the remnant of Israel.
  22.   15 For thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Houses and fields and vineyards shall be possessed again in this land.
          •  •  •
      42 For thus saith the Lord; Like as I have brought all this great evil upon this people, so will I bring upon them all the good that I have promised them.
  23.   4 For thus saith the Lord, the God of Israel, concerning the houses of this city, and concerning the houses of the kings of Judah, which are thrown down by the mounts, and by the sword;
          •  •  •
      17 ¶ For thus saith the Lord; David shall never awant a man to sit upon the throne of the house of Israel;
  24.   18 For thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; As mine anger and my fury hath been poured forth upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem; so shall my fury be poured forth upon you, when ye shall enter into Egypt: and ye shall be an aexecration, and an astonishment, and a curse, and a reproach; and ye shall see this place no more.
  25.   40 For thus saith the Lord; Behold, he shall fly as an aeagle, and shall spread his wings over Moab.
  26.   12 For thus saith the Lord; Behold, they whose judgment was not to adrink of the cup have assuredly drunken; and art thou he that shall altogether go unpunished? thou shalt not go unpunished, but thou shalt surely drink of it.
  27.   33 For thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; The daughter of Babylon is like a threshingfloor, it is time to thresh her: yet a little while, and the time of her aharvest shall come.
  28.   21 For thus saith the Lord God; How much more when I send my four sore judgments upon Jerusalem, the asword, and the famine, and the noisome beast, and the pestilence, to cut off from it man and beast?
  29.   59 For thus saith the Lord God; I will even deal with thee as thou hast done, which hast despised the aoath in breaking the covenant.
  30.   28 For thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I will deliver thee into the hand of them whom thou ahatest, into the hand of them from whom thy mind is alienated:
          •  •  •
      46 For thus saith the Lord God; I will bring up a company upon them, and will give them to be removed and spoiled.
  31.   6 For thus saith the Lord God; Because thou hast clapped thine hands, and stamped with the feet, and rejoiced in heart with all thy adespite against the land of Israel;
  32.   7 ¶ For thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I will bring upon aTyrus Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, a king of kings, from the bnorth, with horses, and with chariots, and with horsemen, and companies, and much people.
          •  •  •
      19 For thus saith the Lord God; When I shall make thee a adesolate city, like the cities that are not inhabited; when I shall bring up the bdeep upon thee, and great waters shall cover thee;
  33.   11 ¶ For thus saith the Lord God; The sword of the king of Babylon shall come upon thee.
  34.   11 ¶ For thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I, even I, will both asearch my sheep, and seek them out.
  35.   3 For thus saith the Lord God; The city that went out by a thousand shall leave an hundred, and that which went forth by an hundred shall leave ten, to the house of Israel.
      4 ¶ For thus saith the Lord unto the house of Israel, aSeek ye me, and ye shall live:
  36.   6 For thus saith the Lord of hosts; Yet once, it is a little while, and I will ashake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land;
  37.   8 For thus saith the Lord of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye.
  38.   14 For thus saith the Lord of hosts; As I thought to punish you, when your fathers provoked me to wrath, saith the Lord of hosts, and I arepented not:
  39.   17 But thus saith the Lord: Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered; afor the bMighty God shall cdeliver his covenant people. For thus saith the Lord: I will contend with them that contendeth with thee—
  40.   1 aYea, for thus saith the Lord: Have I put thee away, or have I cast thee off forever? For thus saith the Lord: Where is the bbill of your mother’s cdivorcement? To whom have I put thee away, or to which of my dcreditors have I esold you? Yea, to whom have I sold you? Behold, for your iniquities have ye sold yourselves, and for your transgressions is your mother put away.
  41.   17 For thus saith the Lord God: They shall awrite the things which shall be done among them, and they shall be written and bsealed up in a book, and those who have dwindled in cunbelief shall not have them, for they dseek to destroy the things of God.
  42.   30 For behold, thus saith the Lord God: I will give unto the children of men line upon line, precept upon aprecept, here a little and there a little; and blessed are those who hearken unto my precepts, and lend an ear unto my counsel, for they shall learn bwisdom; for unto him that creceiveth I will give dmore; and from them that shall say, We have enough, from them shall be taken away even that which they have.
  43.   23 But the word of God burdens me because of your grosser crimes. For behold, thus saith the Lord: This people begin to wax in iniquity; they understand not the scriptures, for they seek to excuse themselves in committing awhoredoms, because of the things which were written concerning David, and Solomon his son.
  44.   3 For behold, thus saith the Lord, I will liken thee, O house of aIsrael, like unto a tame bolive-tree, which a man took and nourished in his cvineyard; and it grew, and waxed old, and began to ddecay.
  45.   7 But he said unto them: Behold, it is not expedient that we should have a king; for thus saith the Lord: Ye shall anot esteem one flesh above another, or one man shall not think himself above another; therefore I say unto you it is not expedient that ye should have a king.
  46.   17 For behold, they do study at this time that they may destroy the liberty of thy people, (for thus saith the Lord) which is contrary to the astatutes, and judgments, and commandments which he has given unto his people.
          •  •  •
      29 And the word came to Alma, saying: Go; and also say unto my servant aAmulek, go forth and prophesy unto this people, saying—Repent ye, for thus saith the Lord, except ye repent I will visit this people in mine anger; yea, and I will not turn my bfierce anger away.
  47.   23 For behold, thus saith the Lord: I will not show unto the wicked of my strength, to one more than the other, save it be unto those who repent of their sins, and hearken unto my words. Now therefore, I would that ye should behold, my brethren, that it shall be abetter for the Lamanites than for you except ye shall repent.
  48.   38 For thus saith the Lord: Ye have sold yourselves for naught, and ye shall be redeemed without money.
  49.   7 For thus saith the Lord God: Him have I inspired to move the cause of aZion in mighty power for good, and his diligence I know, and his prayers I have heard.
  50.   6 But wo unto them that are adeceivers and hypocrites, for, thus saith the Lord, I will bring them to judgment.

  51.   11 For thus saith the Lord, I will cut my work short in arighteousness, for the days come that I will send forth bjudgment unto victory.
  52.   2 For I give unto them a commandment; wherefore hearken and hear, for thus saith the Lord unto them—
  53.   2 For verily thus saith the Lord, it is expedient in me for a abishop to be appointed unto you, or of you, unto the church in this part of the Lord’s vineyard.
  54.   1 For verily, thus saith the Lord, it is expedient in me that athey should continue preaching the gospel, and in exhortation to the churches in the regions round about, until conference;
  55.   5 For thus saith the Lord—I, the Lord, am amerciful and gracious unto those who bfear me, and delight to honor those who cserve me in righteousness and in truth unto the end.
  56.   2 For verily thus saith the Lord, that inasmuch as there are those among you who adeny my name, others shall be bplanted in their cstead and receive their dbishopric. Amen.
  57.   27 And he heard a avoice from heaven, saying: bEnoch, my son, cprophesy unto this people, and say unto them—Repent, for thus saith the Lord: I am dangry with this people, and my fierce anger is kindled against them; for their hearts have waxed ehard, and their fears are dull of hearing, and their eyes gcannot see afar off;
