"Place of"

  1.   6 ¶ And Abram passed through the land unto the place of Sichem, unto the plain of Moreh. And the aCanaanite was then in the land.
  2.   4 Unto the place of the aaltar, which he had made there at the first: and there Abram bcalled on the name of the Lord.
  3.   3 ¶ And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the awood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him.
  4.   19 And Joseph said unto them, Fear not: for am I in the place of God?
  5.   8 And I am come adown to bdeliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land cflowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the dCanaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites.
  6.   34 Therefore now go, alead the people unto the place of which I have spoken unto thee: behold, mine bAngel shall go before thee: nevertheless in the day when I visit I will visit their sin upon them.
  7.   16 And he shall pluck away his crop with his feathers, and cast it beside the altar on the east part, by the place of the ashes:
  8.   29 And he shall lay his hand upon the head of the sin offering, and slay the sin offering in the place of the burnt offering.
  9.   19 And in the place of the boil there be a white rising, or a bright spot, white, and somewhat reddish, and it be shewed to the priest;
  10.   28 And the priest shall put of the aoil that is in his hand upon the tip of the right ear of him that is to be cleansed, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the great toe of his right foot, upon the place of the blood of the trespass offering:
          •  •  •
42 And they shall take other stones, and put them in the place of those stones; and he shall take other morter, and shall plaister the house.
  11.   16 And he shall make an atonement for the holy place, because of the uncleanness of the children of Israel, and because of their atransgressions in all their sins: and so shall he do for the tabernacle of the congregation, that remaineth among them in the midst of their uncleanness.
  12.   29 ¶ And Moses said unto Hobab, the son of aRaguel the Midianite, Moses’ father in law, We are journeying unto the place of which the Lord said, I will give it you: come thou with us, and we will do thee good: for the Lord hath spoken good concerning Israel.
  13.   5 And wherefore have ye made us to come up out of Egypt, to bring us in unto this evil place? it is no place of seed, or of figs, or of vines, or of pomegranates; neither is there any water to drink.
  14.   37 Only unto the land of the children of Ammon thou camest not, nor unto any place of the river Jabbok, nor unto the cities in the mountains, nor unto whatsoever the Lord our God forbad us.
  15.   37 And when the lad was come to the place of the arrow which Jonathan had shot, Jonathan cried after the lad, and said, Is not the arrow beyond thee?
  16.   10 Moreover I will appoint a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in a place of their own, and move no more; neither shall the children of wickedness afflict them any more, as beforetime,
  17.   7 For the acherubims spread forth their two wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubims covered the ark and the staves thereof above.
          •  •  •
29 That thine eyes may be open toward this ahouse night and day, even toward the bplace of which thou hast said, My cname shall be there: that thou mayest hearken unto the dprayer which thy servant shall make toward this place.
  18.   19 The throne had six steps, and the top of the throne was round behind: and there were astays on either side on the place of the seat, and two lions stood beside the stays.
  19.   22 But camest back, and hast eaten bread and drunk water in the place, of the which the Lord did say to thee, Eat no bread, and drink no water; thy carcase shall not come unto the sepulchre of thy fathers.
  20.   32 And they aministered before the dwelling place of the tabernacle of the congregation with bsinging, until Solomon had built the house of the Lord in Jerusalem: and then they waited on their office caccording to their dorder.
  21.   22 Then David said to Ornan, Grant me the place of this threshingfloor, that I may build an altar therein unto the Lord: thou shalt grant it me for the full price: that the plague may be stayed from the people.
  22.   11 ¶ Then David gave to Solomon his son the pattern of the porch, and of the houses thereof, and of the treasuries thereof, and of the upper chambers thereof, and of the inner parlours thereof, and of the place of the mercy seat,
  23.   8 For the acherubims spread forth their bwings over the place of the ark, and the cherubims covered the ark and the staves thereof above.
  24.   3 And said unto the king, Let the king live for ever: why should not my countenance be asad, when the city, the place of my fathers’ sepulchres, lieth waste, and the gates thereof are consumed with fire?
  25.   31 After him repaired Malchiah the goldsmith’s son unto the place of the Nethinims, and of the merchants, over against the gate Miphkad, and ato the going up of the corner.
  26.   9 And the maiden pleased him, and she obtained kindness of him; and he speedily gave her her things for purification, with such things as belonged to her, and seven maidens, which were meet to be given her, out of the king’s house: and he preferred her and her maids unto the best place of the house of the women.
  27.   8 Then the king returned out of the palace garden into the place of the banquet of wine; and Haman was fallen upon the bed whereon Esther was. Then said the king, Will he force the queen also before me in the house? As the word went out of the king’s mouth, they covered Haman’s face.
  28.   17 His roots are wrapped about the heap, and seeth the place of stones.
          •  •  •
22 They that hate thee shall be clothed with ashame; and the dwelling place of the wicked shall come to nought.
  29.   21 Surely such are the dwellings of the wicked, and this is the place of him that knoweth not God.
  30.   6 The stones of it are the place of sapphires: and it hath dust of gold.
          •  •  •
12 But where shall awisdom be found? and where is the place of understanding?
          •  •  •
20 Whence then cometh wisdom? and where is the place of understanding?
  31.   14 From the place of his habitation he alooketh upon all the inhabitants of the earth.
  32.   19 Though thou hast sore broken us in the place of adragons, and covered us with the bshadow of death.
  33.   4 There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.
  34.   7 They have cast fire into thy sanctuary, they have defiled by casting down the dwelling place of thy name to the ground.
  35.   7 Thou calledst in atrouble, and I delivered thee; I answered thee in the secret bplace of thunder: I cproved thee at the waters of dMeribah. Selah.
  36.   1 He that dwelleth in the asecret place of the most High shall abide under the bshadow of the Almighty.
  37.   21 She crieth in the chief place of concourse, in the openings of the gates: in the city she uttereth her words, saying,
  38.   26 In the afear of the Lord is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge.
  39.   6 Put not forth thyself in the presence of the king, and stand not in the place of great men:
  40.   16 ¶ And moreover I saw under the sun the place of judgment, that awickedness was there; and the place of righteousness, that iniquity was there.
  41.   10 And so I saw the wicked buried, who had come and gone from the place of the holy, and they were forgotten in the city where they had so done: this is also vanity.
  42.   5 And the Lord will create upon every dwelling place of mount aZion, and upon her assemblies, a bcloud and smoke by day, and the shining of a flaming cfire by night: for upon all the glory shall be a defence.
6 And there shall be a tabernacle for a shadow in the daytime from the heat, and for a place of arefuge, and for a covert from storm and from rain.
  43.   7 ¶ In that time shall the present be brought unto the Lord of hosts of a people ascattered and peeled, and from a people terrible from their beginning hitherto; a nation meted out and trodden under foot, whose land the rivers have spoiled, to the place of the name of the Lord of hosts, the bmount Zion.
  44.   16 He shall dwell on high: his place of defence shall be the munitions of rocks: bread shall be given him; his waters shall be sure.
          •  •  •
21 But there the glorious Lord will be aunto us a place of broad rivers and streams; wherein shall go no galley with oars, neither shall gallant ship pass thereby.
  45.   14 The awild beasts of the desert shall also meet with the wild beasts of the island, and the satyr shall cry to his fellow; the screech owl also shall rest there, and find for herself a place of rest.
  46.   19 I have not spoken in asecret, in a dark place of the earth: I said not unto the seed of Jacob, Seek ye me in vain: I the Lord speak brighteousness, I declare things that are cright.
  47.   2 Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy astakes;
  48.   13 The glory of aLebanon shall come unto thee, the bfir tree, the pine tree, and the box together, to cbeautify the place of my sanctuary; and I will make the place of my dfeet glorious.
  49.   1 Thus saith the Lord, The heaven is my athrone, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest?
  50.   2 Oh that I had in the wilderness a lodging place of wayfaring men; that I might leave my people, and go from them! for they be all adulterers, an assembly of treacherous men.
    1.   12 ¶ A glorious high throne from the beginning is the place of our sanctuary.
    2.   13 And the houses of Jerusalem, and the houses of the kings of Judah, shall be defiled as the place of Tophet, because of all the houses upon whose aroofs they have burned incense unto all the host of heaven, and have poured out drink offerings unto other gods.
    3.   15 And thou shalt come from thy place out of the anorth parts, thou, and many people with thee, all of them riding upon horses, a great company, and a mighty army:
    4.   11 ¶ And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will give unto Gog a place there of graves in Israel, the valley of the apassengers on the east of the sea: and it shall stop the noses of the passengers: and there shall they bury Gog and all his multitude: and they shall call it The valley of Hamon-gog.
    5.   9 The thickness of the wall, which was for the side chamber without, was five cubits: and that which was left was the place of the side chambers that were within.
    6.   7 ¶ And he said unto me, Son of man, the place of my throne, and the place of the soles of my afeet, where I will dwell in the midst of the children of Israel for ever, and my holy name, shall the house of Israel no more bdefile, neither they, nor their kings, by their whoredom, nor by the carcases of their kings in their high places.
            •  •  •
13 ¶ And these are the measures of the altar after the cubits: The cubit is a acubit and an hand breadth; even the bottom shall be a cubit, and the breadth a cubit, and the border thereof by the edge thereof round about shall be a span: and this shall be the higher place of the altar.
            •  •  •
21 Thou shalt take the bullock also of the sin offering, and ahe shall bburn it in the appointed place of the house, cwithout the sanctuary.
    7.   11 Yea, he magnified himself even to the prince of the host, and by him the adaily bsacrifice was taken away, and the place of his sanctuary was ccast down.
    8.   13 The asorrows of a btravailing woman shall come upon him: he is an unwise son; for he should not stay long in the place of the cbreaking forth of children.
    9.   10 All the land shall be turned as a aplain from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem: and bit shall be lifted up, and inhabited in her cplace, from Benjamin’s gate unto the place of the first gate, unto the corner gate, and from the tower of Hananeel unto the king’s winepresses.
    10.   33 And when they were come unto a place called Golgotha, that is to say, a place of aa skull,
    11.   22 And they bring him unto the place Golgotha, which is, being interpreted, The place of a skull.
    12.   37 And the fame of him went out into every place of the country round about.
    13.   28 For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.
    14.   17 And he abearing his bcross went forth into a place called the place of a cskull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha:
    15.   49 Heaven is my athrone, and earth is my footstool: what house will ye build me? saith the Lord: or what is the place of my rest?
    16.   32 The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a alamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth:
    17.   23 And on the morrow, when Agrippa was come, and Bernice, with great pomp, and was entered into the place of hearing, with the chief captains, and principal men of the city, at Festus’ commandment Paul was brought forth.
    18.   4 For he spake in a certain place of the aseventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.
    19.   17 For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with atears.
    20.   6 And the awoman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.
    21.   34 But behold, I say unto you, the kingdom of God is not filthy, and there cannot any unclean thing enter into the kingdom of God; wherefore there must needs be a place of afilthiness prepared for that which is filthy.
    22.   14 And it came to pass that we did take our bows and our arrows, and go forth into the wilderness to slay food for our families; and after we had slain food for our families we did return again to our families in the wilderness, to the place of Shazer. And we did go forth again in the wilderness, following the same direction, keeping in the most fertile parts of the wilderness, which were in the borders near the aRed Sea.
    23.   6 And there shall be a tabernacle for a shadow in the daytime from the heat, and for a place of arefuge, and a covert from storm and from rain.
    24.   27 And I soon go to the place of my arest, which is with my Redeemer; for I know that in him I shall brest. And I rejoice in the day when my cmortal shall put on dimmortality, and shall stand before him; then shall I see his face with pleasure, and he will say unto me: Come unto me, ye blessed, there is a place prepared for you in the emansions of my Father. Amen.
    25.   7 And it came to pass that they came many times against us, the Nephites, to battle. But our akings and our bleaders were mighty men in the faith of the Lord; and they taught the people the ways of the Lord; wherefore, we withstood the Lamanites and swept them away out of cour lands, and began to fortify our cities, or whatsoever place of our inheritance.
    26.   7 And it came to pass after many days there were a goodly number gathered together at the place of Mormon, to hear the words of Alma. Yea, all were gathered together that believed on his word, to hear him. And he did ateach them, and did preach unto them repentance, and redemption, and faith on the Lord.
            •  •  •
16 And after this manner he did baptize every one that went forth to the place of Mormon; and they were in number about two hundred and four souls; yea, and they were abaptized in the waters of Mormon, and were filled with the bgrace of God.
            •  •  •
30 And now it came to pass that all this was done in Mormon, yea, by the awaters of Mormon, in the forest that was near the waters of Mormon; yea, the place of Mormon, the waters of Mormon, the forest of Mormon, how beautiful are they to the eyes of them who there came to the knowledge of their Redeemer; yea, and how blessed are they, for they shall bsing to his praise forever.
    27.   9 And it came to pass that they took Alma and Amulek, and carried them forth to the place of amartyrdom, that they might witness the destruction of those who were consumed by fire.
    28.   26 And after he had been in the service of the king three days, as he was with the Lamanitish servants going forth with their flocks to the place of awater, which was called the water of Sebus, and all the Lamanites drive their flocks hither, that they may have water—
27 Therefore, as Ammon and the servants of the king were driving forth their flocks to this place of water, behold, a certain number of the Lamanites, who had been with their flocks to water, stood and ascattered the flocks of Ammon and the servants of the king, and they scattered them insomuch that they fled many ways.
            •  •  •
31 And it came to pass that he flattered them by his words, saying: My brethren, be of good cheer and let us go in search of the flocks, and we will gather them together and bring them back unto the place of water; and thus we will preserve the flocks unto the king and he will not slay us.
32 And it came to pass that they went in search of the flocks, and they did follow Ammon, and they rushed forth with much swiftness and did head the flocks of the king, and did gather them together again to the place of water.
    29.   6 For he had slain many of them because their brethren had scattered their flocks at the place of water; and thus, because they had had their flocks scattered they were slain.
    30.   28 Now, the more aidle part of the Lamanites lived in the wilderness, and dwelt in tents; and they were spread through the wilderness on the west, in the land of Nephi; yea, and also on the west of the land of Zarahemla, in the borders by the seashore, and on the west in the land of Nephi, in the place of their fathers’ first inheritance, and thus bordering along by the seashore.
            •  •  •
30 And it bordered upon the land which they called aDesolation, it being so far northward that it came into the land which had been peopled and been destroyed, of whose bbones we have spoken, which was discovered by the cpeople of Zarahemla, it being the place of their dfirst landing.
    31.   16 And it came to pass that as Ammon was going forth into the land, that he and his brethren met Alma, over in the aplace of which has been spoken; and behold, this was a joyful meeting.
    32.   5 And now he had got the command of those parts of the Lamanites who were in favor of the king; and he sought to gain favor of those who were not obedient; therefore he went forward to the place which was called aOnidah, for thither had all the Lamanites fled; for they discovered the army coming, and, supposing that they were coming to destroy them, therefore they fled to Onidah, to the place of arms.
    33.   4 But behold, how great was their disappointment; for behold, the Nephites had dug up a aridge of earth round about them, which was so high that the Lamanites could not cast their stones and their arrows at them that they might take effect, neither could they come upon them save it was by their place of bentrance.
            •  •  •
20 Thus they were prepared, yea, a body of their strongest men, with their swords and their slings, to smite down all who should attempt to come into their place of security by the place of aentrance; and thus were they prepared to defend themselves against the Lamanites.
21 And it came to pass that the captains of the Lamanites brought up their armies before the place of entrance, and began to contend with the Nephites, to get into their place of security; but behold, they were driven back from time to time, insomuch that they were slain with an immense slaughter.
    34.   42 And it came to pass that after Moroni had fortified those parts of the land which were most exposed to the Lamanites, until they were sufficiently strong, he returned to the city of Zarahemla; and also Helaman returned to the place of his inheritance; and there was once more peace established among the people of Nephi.
    35.   7 And behold the people did gather themselves together unto the place of the judgment-seat—and behold, to their astonishment they saw those afive men who had fallen to the earth.
            •  •  •
14 We ran and came to the place of the judgment-seat, and when we saw all things even as Nephi had testified, we were astonished insomuch that we fell to the earth; and when we were recovered from our astonishment, behold they cast us into aprison.
    36.   15 And it came to pass that the armies of the Nephites did return again to their place of security. And it came to pass that this nineteenth year did pass away, and the robbers did not come again to battle; neither did they come again in the twentieth year.
    37.   10 And the earth was carried up upon the city of aMoronihah, that in the place of the city there became a great bmountain.
    38.   2 Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thy habitations; spare not, lengthen thy cords and strengthen thy astakes;
    39.   3 And that it was the place of the aNew Jerusalem, which should bcome down out of heaven, and the holy sanctuary of the Lord.
    40.   1 And now I, Moroni, write a few of the words of my father Mormon, which he spake concerning afaith, hope, and charity; for after this manner did he speak unto the people, as he taught them in the bsynagogue which they had built for the place of worship.
    41.   53 Thou shalt astand in the place of thy stewardship.
    42.   66 And it shall be called the aNew Jerusalem, a bland of cpeace, a city of drefuge, a place of esafety for the saints of the Most High God;
    43.   37 And it is wisdom also that there should be lands purchased in Independence, for the place of the storehouse, and also for the house of the aprinting.
    44.   4 Verily this is the word of the Lord, that the city aNew Jerusalem shall be built by the gathering of the saints, beginning at this place, even the place of the temple, which btemple shall be creared in this dgeneration.
    45.   13 For a place of athanksgiving for all saints, and for a place of instruction for all those who are called to the work of the ministry in all their several callings and offices;
    46.   7 These seven shall have power to appoint other high priests, whom they may consider worthy and capable to act in the place of absent councilors.
    47.   13 And that all people who shall enter upon the threshold of the Lord’s house may feel thy power, and feel constrained to acknowledge that thou hast sanctified it, and that it is thy house, a aplace of thy holiness.
    48.   1 Verily, thus saith the Lord: Let a conference be held immediately; let the Twelve be organized; and let men be appointed to asupply the place of those who are fallen.
    49.   1 In the land of the aChaldeans, at the residence of my fathers, I, bAbraham, saw that it was needful for me to obtain another place of cresidence;
    50.   18 And then we passed from Jershon through the land unto the place of Sechem; it was situated in the plains of Moreh, and we had already come into the borders of the land of the aCanaanites, and I offered bsacrifice there in the plains of Moreh, and called on the Lord devoutly, because we had already come into the land of this idolatrous nation.
            •  •  •
20 And I, Abraham, arose from the place of the altar which I had built unto the Lord, and removed from thence unto a mountain on the east of aBethel, and pitched my tent there, Bethel on the west, and bHai on the east; and there I built another caltar unto the Lord, and dcalled again upon the name of the Lord.

    51.   62 By this timely aid was I enabled to reach the place of my destination in Pennsylvania; and immediately after my arrival there I commenced copying the characters off the plates. I copied a considerable number of them, and by means of the aUrim and Thummim I translated some of them, which I did between the time I arrived at the house of my wife’s father, in the month of December, and the February following.
    52.
