The Spirit of the Lord was upon him

1. Num. 24: 2
     2 And Balaam lifted up his eyes, and he saw Israel abiding in his tents according to their ^atribes; and the spirit of God came upon him.
2. Judg. 3: 10
     10 And the ^aSpirit of the Lord came upon him, and he judged Israel, and went out to war: and the Lord delivered Chushan-rishathaim king of Mesopotamia into his hand; and his hand prevailed against ^bChushan-rishathaim.

     34 But the Spirit of the Lord came upon Gideon, and he blew a trumpet; and Abi-ezer was gathered after him.
4. Judg. 11: 29
     29 ¶ Then the Spirit of the Lord came upon Jephthah, and he passed over Gilead, and Manasseh, and passed over Mizpeh of Gilead, and from Mizpeh of Gilead he passed over unto the children of Ammon.

     10 And when they came thither to the hill, behold, a company of ^aprophets met him; and the ^bSpirit of God came upon him, and he prophesied among them.
8. 1 Sam. 11: 6
     6 And the Spirit of God came upon Saul when he heard those tidings, and his anger was kindled greatly.
9. 1 Sam. 16: 13
     13 Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and ^aanointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the ^bSpirit of the Lord came upon ^cDavid from that day forward. So Samuel rose up, and went to Ramah.
10. 1 Sam. 19: 20, 23
      20 And Saul sent messengers to take David: and when they saw the company of the ^aprophets prophesying, and Samuel standing as appointed over them, the Spirit of God was upon the messengers of Saul, and they also prophesied.

13. Mosiah 4: 3
      3 And it came to pass that after they had spoken these words the Spirit of the Lord came upon them, and they were filled with joy, having received a ^aremission of their sins, and having peace of ^bconscience, because of the exceeding ^cfaith which they had in Jesus Christ who should come, according to the ^dwords which king Benjamin had spoken unto them.
14. Mosiah 13: 5
      5 Now it came to pass after Abinadi had spoken these words that the people of king Noah durst not lay their hands on him, for the Spirit of the Lord was upon him; and his face ^ashone with exceeding luster, even as Moses’ did while in the mount of Sinai, while speaking with the Lord.
15. Mosiah 18: 13
      13 And when he had said these words, the ^aSpirit of the Lord was upon him, and he said: Helam, I baptize thee, having ^bauthority from the Almighty God, as a testimony that ye have entered into a ^ccovenant to serve him until you are dead as to the mortal body; and may the Spirit of the Lord be poured out upon you; and may he grant unto you eternal life, through the redemption of Christ, whom he has prepared from the ^dfoundation of the world.
