5 Moreover the multitude of thy strangers shall be like small dust, and the multitude of the terrible ones shall be as chaff that passethaway: yea, it shall be at an instant suddenly.
13 ¶ I will surely aconsume them, saith the Lord: there shall be no grapes on the vine, nor figs on the fig tree, and the leaf shall fade; and the things that I have given them shall passaway from them.
14 And there was given him adominion, and glory, and a bkingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an ceverlasting dominion, which shall not passaway, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.
3 Therefore they shall be as the morning cloud, and as the early dew that passethaway, as the achaffthat is driven with the whirlwind out of the floor, and as the smoke out of the chimney.
11 Pass ye away, thou inhabitant of Saphir, having thy shame naked: the inhabitant of Zaanan came not forth in the mourning of Beth-ezel; he shall receive of you his standing.
10 But the aday of the Lord will bcome as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall cpassaway with a great noise, and the delements shall melt with fervent heat, the eearth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
1 And I saw a anewbheaven and a new cearth: for the first heaven and the first dearth were passedaway; and there was no more sea.
• • •
4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more adeath, neither bsorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more cpain: for the former things are passedaway.
3 And it came to pass that I beheld many generations passaway, after the manner of wars and contentions in the land; and I beheld many cities, yea, even that I did not number them.
• • •
11 And the angel said unto me: Look! And I looked, and beheld athree generations passaway in righteousness; and their garments were white even like unto the Lamb of God. And the angel said unto me: These are made white in the blood of the Lamb, because of their faith in him.
12 And I, Nephi, also saw many of the afourth generation who passedaway in righteousness.
• • •
21 And I saw them gathered together in multitudes; and I saw awars and rumors of wars among them; and in wars and rumors of wars I saw bmany generations passaway.
46 And ye also know that by the apower of his almighty word he can cause the earth that it shall passaway; yea, and ye know that by his word he can cause the rough places to be made smooth, and smooth places shall be broken up. O, then, why is it, that ye can be so hard in your hearts?
16 And assuredly, as the Lord liveth, for the Lord God hath spoken it, and it is his eternal aword, which cannot bpassaway, that they who are righteous shall be righteous still, and they who are cfilthy shall be dfilthy still; wherefore, they who are filthy are the edevil and his angels; and they shall go away into feverlasting fire, prepared for them; and their gtorment is as a hlake of fire and brimstone, whose flame ascendeth up forever and ever and has no end.
2 For behold, I say unto you that I have beheld that many generations shall passaway, and there shall be great wars and contentions among my people.
• • •
9 But the Son of righteousness shall aappear unto them; and he shall bheal them, and they shall have cpeace with him, until dthree generations shall have passedaway, and many of the efourth generation shall have passedaway in righteousness.
10 And when these things have passedaway a speedy adestruction cometh unto my people; for, notwithstanding the pains of my soul, I have seen it; wherefore, I know that it shall come to pass; and they sell themselves for naught; for, for the reward of their pride and their bfoolishness they shall reap destruction; for because they yield unto the devil and cchoose works of ddarkness rather than light, therefore they must go down to ehell.
• • •
18 Wherefore, as those who have been destroyed have been destroyed speedily; and the multitude of their aterrible ones shall be as bchaff that passethaway—yea, thus saith the Lord God: It shall be at an instant, suddenly—
6 And then shall they rejoice; for they shall aknow that it is a blessing unto them from the hand of God; and their bscales of darkness shall begin to fall from their eyes; and many generations shall not passaway among them, save they shall be a pure and a cdelightsome people.
15 And it came to pass that a long time passedaway, and the Lord of the vineyard said unto his servant: Come, let us go down into the vineyard, that we may alabor in the vineyard.
• • •
29 And it came to pass that a along time had passedaway, and the Lord of the vineyard said unto his bservant: Come, let us go down into the vineyard, that we may labor again in the vineyard. For behold, the time draweth near, and the cend soon cometh; wherefore, I must lay up fruit against the season, unto mine own self.
1 And now it came to pass after some years had passedaway, there came a man among the people of Nephi, whose name was aSherem.
• • •
26 And it came to pass that I, Jacob, began to be old; and the record of this people being kept on the aother plates of Nephi, wherefore, I conclude this record, declaring that I have written according to the best of my knowledge, by saying that the time passedaway with us, and also our blivespassedaway like as it were unto us a cdream, we being a dlonesome and a solemn people, ewanderers, cast out from Jerusalem, born in tribulation, in a wilderness, and hated of our brethren, which caused wars and contentions; wherefore, we did mourn out our days.
8 And he said unto me: aBecause of thy bfaith in Christ, whom thou hast never before heard nor seen. And many years passaway before he shall manifest himself in the flesh; wherefore, go to, thy faith hath made thee cwhole.
13 Therefore, it is expedient that there should be a great and last sacrifice, and then shall there be, or it is expedient there should be, a astop to the shedding of bblood; then shall the claw of Moses be fulfilled; yea, it shall be all fulfilled, every jot and tittle, and none shall have passedaway.
12 Yea, and this because they shall dwindle in unbelief and fall into the works of darkness, and alasciviousness, and all manner of iniquities; yea, I say unto you, that because they shall sin against so great light and knowledge, yea, I say unto you, that from that day, even the bfourth generation shall not all passaway before this great iniquity shall come.
12 And it came to pass that not many days had passedaway before the Lamanites began to lose all hopes of succor; therefore they yielded up the city unto our hands; and thus we had accomplished our designs in obtaining the city Cumeni.
13 Behold their women did toil and spin, and did amake all manner of bcloth, of fine-twined linen and cloth of every kind, to clothe their nakedness. And thus the sixty and fourth year did passaway in peace.
14 And in the *sixty and fifth year they did also have great joy and peace, yea, much preaching and many prophecies concerning that which was to come. And thus passedaway the sixty and fifth year.
5 And he said unto them: Behold, I, Samuel, a Lamanite, do speak the words of the Lord which he doth put into my heart; and behold he hath put it into my heart to say unto this people that the asword of justice hangeth over this people; and four hundred years pass not away save the sword of justice falleth upon this people.
• • •
9 And afour hundred years shall not passaway before I will cause that they shall be smitten; yea, I will visit them with the sword and with famine and with pestilence.
1 Now it came to pass that the *ninety and first year had passedaway and it was asix hundred years from the time that Lehi left Jerusalem; and it was in the year that bLachoneus was the chief judge and the governor over the land.
• • •
25 But it came to pass that they soon became converted, and were convinced of the error which they were in, for it was made known unto them that the law was not yet afulfilled, and that it must be fulfilled in every whit; yea, the word came unto them that it must be fulfilled; yea, that one jot or tittle should not passaway till it should all be fulfilled; therefore in this same year were they brought to a knowledge of their error and did bconfess their faults.
26 And thus the ninety and second year did passaway, bringing aglad tidings unto the people because of the signs which did come to pass, according to the words of the prophecy of all the holy prophets.
27 And it came to pass that the ninety and third year did also passaway in peace, save it were for the Gadianton robbers, who dwelt upon the amountains, who did infest the land; for so strong were their holds and their secret places that the people could not overpower them; therefore they did commit many murders, and did do much slaughter among the people.
1 And it came to pass that thus passedaway the *ninety and fifth year also, and the people began to forget those asigns and wonders which they had heard, and began to be less and less astonished at a sign or a wonder from heaven, insomuch that they began to be hard in their hearts, and blind in their minds, and began to disbelieve all which they had heard and seen—
• • •
4 And thus did passaway the ninety and sixth year; and also the ninety and seventh year; and also the ninety and eighth year; and also the ninety and ninth year;
5 And also an hundred years had passedaway since the days of aMosiah, who was king over the people of the Nephites.
6 And *six hundred and nine years had passedaway since Lehi left Jerusalem.
7 And nine years had passedaway from the time when the sign was given, which was spoken of by the prophets, that Christ should come into the world.
8 Now the Nephites began to areckon their time from this period when the sign was given, or from the coming of Christ; therefore, nine years had passedaway.
• • •
10 And it came to pass that the people did still aremain in wickedness, notwithstanding the much preaching and prophesying which was sent among them; and thus passedaway the tenth year also; and the eleventh year also passedaway in iniquity.
• • •
13 And it came to pass that before this thirteenth year had passedaway the Nephites were threatened with utter destruction because of this war, which had become exceedingly sore.
4 Therefore, there was no chance for the robbers to plunder and to obtain food, save it were to come up in open battle against the Nephites; and the Nephites being in one body, and having so great a number, and having reserved for themselves provisions, and ahorses and cattle, and flocks of every kind, that they might subsist for the space of bseven years, in the which time they did hope to destroy the robbers from off the face of the land; and thus the eighteenth year did passaway.
• • •
15 And it came to pass that the armies of the Nephites did return again to their place of security. And it came to pass that this nineteenth year did passaway, and the robbers did not come again to battle; neither did they come again in the twentieth year.
7 And thus had the atwenty and second year passedaway, and the twenty and third year also, and the twenty and fourth, and the twenty and fifth; and thus had *twenty and five years passedaway.
4 And they began again to prosper and to wax great; and the twenty and sixth and seventh years passedaway, and there was great aorder in the land; and they had formed their laws according to equity and justice.
• • •
9 And thus passedaway the twenty and eighth year, and the people had continual peace.
8 And thus six years had not passedaway since the more part of the people had turned from their righteousness, like the dog to his avomit, or like the sow to her wallowing in the mire.
• • •
21 And it came to pass that the thirty and first year did passaway, and there were but few who were converted unto the Lord; but as many as were converted did truly signify unto the people that they had been avisited by the power and bSpirit of God, which was in Jesus Christ, in whom they believed.
• • •
23 Thus passedaway the *thirty and second year also. And Nephi did cry unto the people in the commencement of the thirty and third year; and he did preach unto them repentance and remission of sins.
• • •
26 And there were many in the commencement of this year that were baptized unto repentance; and thus the more part of the year did passaway.
9 And it came to pass that thus did the three days passaway. And it was in the morning, and the adarkness dispersed from off the face of the land, and the earth did cease to tremble, and the brocks did cease to rend, and the dreadful groanings did cease, and all the tumultuous noises did passaway.
2 And it came to pass that when Jesus had said these words he perceived that there were some among them who marveled, and wondered what he would concerning the law of Moses; for they understood not the saying that aold things had passedaway, and that all things had become new.
3 And he said unto them: Marvel not that I said unto you that old things had passedaway, and that all things had become anew.
• • •
7 And because I said unto you that old things have passedaway, I do not destroy that which hath been spoken concerning things which are to come.
3 And he did expound all things, even from the beginning until the atime that he should come in his bglory—yea, even all things which should come upon the face of the earth, even until the celements should melt with fervent heat, and the earth should be dwrapt together as a scroll, and the heavens and the earth should passaway;
1 And it came to pass that the thirty and fourth year passedaway, and also the thirty and fifth, and behold the disciples of Jesus had formed a church of Christ in all the lands round about. And as many as did come unto them, and did truly repent of their sins, were abaptized in the name of Jesus; and they did also receive the Holy Ghost.
• • •
4 And it came to pass that the thirty and seventh year passedaway also, and there still continued to be apeace in the land.
• • •
6 And thus did the thirty and eighth year passaway, and also the thirty and ninth, and forty and first, and the forty and second, yea, even until forty and nine years had passedaway, and also the fifty and first, and the fifty and second; yea, and even until fifty and nine years had passedaway.
• • •
14 And it came to pass that the *seventy and first year passedaway, and also the seventy and second year, yea, and in fine, till the seventy and ninth year had passedaway; yea, even an hundred years had passedaway, and the adisciples of Jesus, whom he had chosen, had all gone to the bparadise of God, save it were the cthree who should tarry; and there were other ddiscipleseordained in their stead; and also many of that fgeneration had passedaway.
• • •
18 And how blessed were they! For the Lord did bless them in all their doings; yea, even they were blessed and prospered until an *hundred and ten years had passedaway; and the first generation from Christ had passedaway, and there was no contention in all the land.
• • •
22 And it came to pass that *two hundred years had passedaway; and the second generation had all passedaway save it were a few.
• • •
27 And it came to pass that when *two hundred and ten years had passedaway there were many churches in the land; yea, there were many churches which professed to know the Christ, and yet they did adeny the more parts of his gospel, insomuch that they did receive all manner of wickedness, and did administer that which was sacred unto him to whom it had been bforbidden because of unworthiness.
• • •
34 Nevertheless, the people did harden their hearts, for they were led by many priests and afalse prophets to build up many churches, and to do all manner of iniquity. And they did bsmite upon the people of Jesus; but the people of Jesus did not smite again. And thus they did dwindle in unbelief and wickedness, from year to year, even until two hundred and thirty years had passedaway.
• • •
40 And it came to pass that *two hundred and forty and four years had passedaway, and thus were the affairs of the people. And the amore wicked part of the people did wax strong, and became exceedingly more numerous than were the people of God.
41 And they did still continue to build up churches unto themselves, and adorn them with all manner of precious things. And thus did two hundred and fifty years passaway, and also two hundred and sixty years.
• • •
45 And it came to pass that when three hundred years had passedaway, both the people of Nephi and the Lamanites had become exceedingly wicked one like unto another.
• • •
47 And it came to pass that after *three hundred and five years had passedaway, (and the people did still remain in wickedness) aAmos died; and his brother, Ammaron, did keep the record in his stead.
48 And it came to pass that when *three hundred and twenty years had passedaway, aAmmaron, being constrained by the Holy Ghost, did bhide up the crecords which were dsacred—yea, even all the sacred records which had been handed down from generation to generation, which were sacred—even until the three hundred and twentieth year from the coming of Christ.
2 Therefore it came to pass that *in my sixteenth year I did go forth at the head of an army of the Nephites, against the Lamanites; therefore three hundred and twenty and six years had passedaway.
• • •
9 And now, the Lamanites had a king, and his name was aAaron; and he came against us with an army of forty and four thousand. And behold, I withstood him with forty and two thousand. And it came to pass that I beat him with my army that he fled before me. And behold, all this was done, and *three hundred and thirty years had passedaway.
• • •
15 And it came to pass that my sorrow did return unto me again, and I saw that the aday of bgracecwaspassed with them, both temporally and spiritually; for I saw thousands of them hewn down in open drebellion against their God, and heaped up as edung upon the face of the land. And thus *three hundred and forty and four years had passedaway.
• • •
28 And the *three hundred and forty and ninth year had passedaway. And in the three hundred and fiftieth year we made a treaty with the Lamanites and the robbers of Gadianton, in which we did get the lands of our inheritance divided.
1 And it came to pass that the Lamanites did not come to battle again *until ten years more had passedaway. And behold, I had employed my people, the Nephites, in preparing their lands and their arms against the time of battle.
• • •
4 And it came to pass that after this tenth year had passedaway, making, in the whole, three hundred and sixty years from the coming of Christ, the king of the Lamanites sent an epistle unto me, which gave unto me to know that they were preparing to come again to battle against us.
10 And it came to pass that the three hundred and sixty and sixth year had passedaway, and the Lamanites came again upon the Nephites to battle; and yet the Nephites repented not of the evil they had done, but persisted in their wickedness continually.
5 But it came to pass that whatsoever lands we had passed by, and the inhabitants thereof were not gathered in, were destroyed by the Lamanites, and their towns, and villages, and cities were burned with fire; and thus three hundred and seventy and nine years passedaway.
9 And at my command the heavens are opened and are ashut; and at my word the bearth shall shake; and at my command the inhabitants thereof shall passaway, even so as by fire.
17 And it came to pass that Corom did that which was good in the sight of the Lord all his days; and he begat many sons and daughters; and after he had seen many days he did passaway, even like unto the rest of the earth; and Kish reigned in his stead.
18 And it came to pass that Kish passedaway also, and Lib reigned in his stead.
8 Wherefore, the remnant of the house of Joseph shall be built upon this aland; and it shall be a land of their inheritance; and they shall build up a holy bcity unto the Lord, like unto the Jerusalem of old; and they shall cno more be confounded, until the end come when the earth shall passaway.
9 And there shall be a anew heaven and a new earth; and they shall be like unto the old save the old have passedaway, and all things have become new.
1 Now I, Moroni, write somewhat as seemeth me good; and I write unto my brethren, the aLamanites; and I would that they should know that *more than bfour hundred and twenty years have passedaway since the sign was given of the coming of Christ.
38 What I the Lord have spoken, I have spoken, and I excuse not myself; and though the heavens and the earth passaway, my aword shall not passaway, but shall all be bfulfilled, whether by mine own cvoice or by the dvoice of my eservants, it is the fsame.
23 And the aend shall come, and the heaven and the earth shall be consumed and bpassaway, and there shall be a new heaven and a cnew earth.
24 For all aold things shall bpassaway, and all things shall become new, even the heaven and the earth, and all the fulness thereof, both men and cbeasts, the fowls of the air, and the fishes of the sea;
• • •
26 But, behold, verily I say unto you, before the earth shall passaway, aMichael, mine archangel, shall sound his btrump, and then shall all the dead cawake, for their graves shall be opened, and they shall dcome forth—yea, even all.
20 And this shall be my covenant with you, ye shall have it for the land of your inheritance, and for the ainheritance of your children forever, while the earth shall stand, and ye shall possess it again in eternity, no more to passaway.
21 And it shall come to pass, that this ageneration of Jews shall not passaway until every desolation which I have told you concerning them shall come btopass.
22 Ye say that ye know that the aend of the world cometh; ye say also that ye know that the heavens and the earth shall passaway;
23 And in this ye say truly, for so it is; but these things which I have told you shall not apassaway until all shall be fulfilled.
49 Yea, and blessed are the dead that adie in the Lord, from henceforth, when the Lord shall come, and old things shall bpassaway, and all things become new, they shall crise from the dead and shall not ddie after, and shall receive an inheritance before the Lord, in the eholy city.
5 For verily this generation shall not all apassaway until an bhouse shall be built unto the Lord, and a ccloud shall rest upon it, which cloud shall be even the dglory of the Lord, which shall fill the house.
35 But only an account of this earth, and the inhabitants thereof, give I unto you. For behold, there are many worlds that have passedaway by the word of my power. And there are many that now stand, and innumerable are they unto man; but all things are numbered unto me, for they are mine and I aknow them.
• • •
38 And as one earth shall passaway, and the heavens thereof even so shall another come; and there is no aend to my works, neither to my words.
34 Verily, I say unto you, this ageneration, in which these things shall be shown forth, shall not passaway until all I have told you shall be fulfilled.
35 Although, the days will come, that heaven and earth shall passaway; yet my awords shall not passaway, but all shall be fulfilled.
