"Visit many"

  1.   25 And now for this cause, that ye may not be destroyed, the Lord has sent his angel to visit many of his people, declaring unto them that they must go forth and cry mightily unto this people, saying: aRepent ye, for the kingdom of heaven is nigh at hand;
  2.   33 Yea, for they did visit many parts of the land, and did do great destruction unto them; yea, did kill many, and did carry away others captive into the wilderness, yea, and more especially their women and their children.

Send angels

  1.   7 ¶ The aLord God of heaven, which took me from my bfather’s house, and from the land of my kindred, and which spake unto me, and that sware unto me, saying, Unto thy seed will I give this cland; he shall send his dangel before thee, and thou shalt take a wife unto my son from thence.
          •  •  •
      40 And he said unto me, The aLord, before whom I bwalk, will send his angel with thee, and prosper thy way; and thou shalt take a wife for my son of my kindred, and of my father’s house:
  2.   20 ¶ Behold, I send an aAngel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared.
  3.   2 And I will send an aangel before thee; and I will drive out the bCanaanite, the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite:
  4.   16 And when we cried unto the Lord, he heard our voice, and sent an aangel, and hath brought us forth out of Egypt: and, behold, we are in Kadesh, a city in the uttermost of thy border:
  5.   12 Either athree years’ famine; or three months to be destroyed before thy foes, while that the sword of thine enemies overtaketh thee; or else three days the sword of the Lord, even the pestilence, in the land, and the angel of the Lord destroying throughout all the coasts of Israel. Now therefore advise thyself what word I shall bring again to him that sent me.
          •  •  •
      15 aAnd God sent an angel unto Jerusalem to destroy it: and as he was destroying, the Lord beheld, and he repented him of the evil, and said to the angel that destroyed, It is enough, stay now thine hand. And the angel of the Lord stood by the threshingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite.
  6.   21 ¶ And the Lord sent an aangel, which cut off all the mighty men of valour, and the leaders and captains in the camp of the king of Assyria. So he returned with shame of face to his own land. And when he was come into the house of his god, they that came forth of his own bowels slew him there with the sword.
  7.   25 Man did eat aangels’ food: he sent them meat to the full.
          •  •  •
      49 He cast upon them the fierceness of his anger, wrath, and indignation, and trouble, by sending aevil angels among them.
  8.   28 Then Nebuchadnezzar spake, and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, who hath sent his aangel, and delivered his servants that btrusted in him, and chave changed the king’s word, and yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God.
  9.   22 My God hath sent his aangel, and hath shut the blions’ mouths, that they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt.
  10.   41 The Son of man shall send forth his aangels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that boffend, and them which do iniquity;
  11.   31 And he shall send his aangels with a great sound of a btrumpet, and they shall gather together his celect from the four winds, from one end of dheaven to the other.
  12.   27 And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.
  13.   19 And the aangel answering said unto him, I am bGabriel, that stand in the presence of God; and am sent to speak unto thee, and to shew thee these glad tidings.
          •  •  •
      26 And in the sixth month the aangel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth,
  14.   35 This Moses whom they refused, saying, Who made thee a ruler and a judge? the same did God send to be a ruler and a adeliverer by the hand of the angel which appeared to him in the bush.
  15.   22 And they said, Cornelius the centurion, a just man, and one that feareth God, and of good report among all the nation of the Jews, was awarned from God by an holy angel to send for thee into his house, and to hear words of thee.
  16.   13 And he shewed us how he had seen an angel in his house, which stood and said unto him, Send men to Joppa, and call for Simon, whose surname is Peter;
  17.   11 And when Peter was come to himself, he said, Now I know of a surety, that the Lord hath sent his angel, and hath delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from all the expectation of the people of the Jews.
  18.   12 Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have apreached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the bangels desire to look into.
  19.   1 aThe bRevelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his cservants things which must dshortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his eangel unto his servant John:
  20.   6 And he said unto me, These sayings are faithful and atrue: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to shew unto his servants the things which must bshortly be done.
          •  •  •
      16 I Jesus have sent mine aangel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the broot and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning cstar.
  21.   24 And by day have I waxed bold in mighty aprayer before him; yea, my voice have I sent up on high; and angels came down and ministered unto me.
  22.   25 And now for this cause, that ye may not be destroyed, the Lord has sent his angel to visit many of his people, declaring unto them that they must go forth and cry mightily unto this people, saying: aRepent ye, for the kingdom of heaven is nigh at hand;
  23.   10 And again, I know that the things whereof he hath testified are true; for behold I say unto you, that as the Lord liveth, even so has he sent his aangel to make these things manifest unto me; and this he has done while this Alma hath bdwelt at my house.
  24.   29 Therefore he sent aangels to converse with them, who caused men to behold of his glory.
  25.   4 Now when Ammon and his brethren saw this work of destruction among those whom they so dearly beloved, and among those who had so dearly beloved them—for they were treated as though they were angels sent from God to save them from everlasting destruction—therefore, when Ammon and his brethren saw this great work of destruction, they were moved with compassion, and they asaid unto the king:
  26.   6 For I went about with the sons of Mosiah, seeking to adestroy the church of God; but behold, God sent his holy angel to stop us by the way.
  27.   7 But behold, the Lord in his great mercy sent his aangel to declare unto me that I must stop the work of bdestruction among his people; yea, and I have seen an angel face to face, and he spake with me, and his voice was as thunder, and it shook the whole earth.
  28.   19 Is it not as easy at this time for the Lord to asend his angel to declare these glad tidings unto us as unto our children, or as after the time of his coming?
  29.   11 And he hath power given unto him from the Father to redeem them from their sins because of repentance; therefore he hath asent his angels to declare the tidings of the conditions of repentance, which bringeth unto the power of the Redeemer, unto the salvation of their souls.
  30.   7 And behold, an aangel of the Lord hath declared it unto me, and he did bring bglad tidings to my soul. And behold, I was sent unto you to declare it unto you also, that ye might have glad tidings; but behold ye would cnot receive me.
  31.   22 For behold, God aknowing all things, being from beverlasting to everlasting, behold, he sent cangels to minister unto the children of men, to make manifest concerning the coming of Christ; and in Christ there should come every good thing.
  32.   16 Stand, therefore, having your loins agirt about with btruth, having on the cbreastplate of drighteousness, and your feet shod with the preparation of the egospel of fpeace, which I have sent mine gangels to commit unto you;
  33.   42 But, behold, I say unto you that I, the Lord God, gave unto Adam and unto his seed, that they should not adie as to the temporal death, until I, the Lord God, should send forth bangels to declare unto them crepentance and dredemption, through faith on the name of mine eOnly Begotten Son.
  34.   54 And until that hour there will be foolish avirgins among the wise; and at that hour cometh an entire bseparation of the righteous and the wicked; and in that day will I send mine angels to cpluck out the wicked and cast them into unquenchable fire.
  35.   8 Q. What are we to understand by the four aangels, spoken of in the 7th chapter and 1st verse of Revelation?
      A. We are to understand that they are four angels sent forth from God, to whom is given power over the four parts of the earth, to save life and to destroy; these are they who have the beverlasting gospel to commit to every nation, kindred, tongue, and people; having power to cshut up the heavens, to seal up unto life, or to cast down to the dregions of darkness.
  36.   5 Behold, verily I say unto you, the aangels are crying unto the Lord day and night, who are ready and waiting to be sent forth to breap down the fields;
  37.   17 For behold, the Lord God hath asent forth the angel crying through the midst of heaven, saying: Prepare ye the way of the Lord, and make his paths straight, for the hour of his bcoming is nigh—
          •  •  •
      36 And now, verily saith the Lord, that these things might be known among you, O inhabitants of the earth, I have sent forth mine aangel flying through the midst of heaven, having the everlasting bgospel, who hath appeared unto some and hath committed it unto man, who shall appear unto cmany that dwell on the earth.
  38.   58 And thus the aGospel began to be bpreached, from the beginning, being declared by choly dangels sent forth from the presence of God, and by his own voice, and by the gift of the Holy Ghost.
  39.   13 Thou didst send thine angel to adeliver me from the gods of Elkenah, and I will do well to hearken unto thy voice, therefore let thy servant rise up and depart in peace.
  40.   20 The Lord thy God sent his angel to adeliver thee from the hands of the priest of Elkenah.
  41.   37 And whoso atreasureth up my word, shall not be deceived, for the Son of Man shall bcome, and he shall send his cangels before him with the great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together the dremainder of his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

"And now, for this cause"

  1.   11 And now, for this cause have I suffered that ye should be preserved, that I might inquire of you, or else I should have caused that my guards should have put you to death. Ye are permitted to speak.
  2.   8 For thou hast said that aGod himself should come down among the children of men; and now, for this cause thou shalt be put to death unless thou wilt recall all the words which thou hast spoken evil concerning me and my people.
  3.   25 And now for this cause, that ye may not be destroyed, the Lord has sent his angel to visit many of his people, declaring unto them that they must go forth and cry mightily unto this people, saying: aRepent ye, for the kingdom of heaven is nigh at hand;

"Now for this cause"

  1.   11 And now, for this cause have I suffered that ye should be preserved, that I might inquire of you, or else I should have caused that my guards should have put you to death. Ye are permitted to speak.
  2.   8 For thou hast said that aGod himself should come down among the children of men; and now, for this cause thou shalt be put to death unless thou wilt recall all the words which thou hast spoken evil concerning me and my people.
  3.   25 And now for this cause, that ye may not be destroyed, the Lord has sent his angel to visit many of his people, declaring unto them that they must go forth and cry mightily unto this people, saying: aRepent ye, for the kingdom of heaven is nigh at hand;
  4.   10 And it came to pass that it was for the space of many hours before Moses did again receive his natural astrength like unto man; and he said unto himself: Now, for this cause I know that bman is cnothing, which thing I never had supposed.

Destroy from off

  1.   4 For yet seven days, and I will cause it to arain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth.
  2.   26 I call aheaven and earth to witness against you this day, that ye shall soon utterly perish from off the land whereunto ye go over bJordan to possess it; ye shall not prolong your days upon it, but shall cutterly be destroyed.
  3.   15 (For the Lord thy God is a ajealous God among you) lest the banger of the Lord thy God be kindled against thee, and destroy thee from off the face of the earth.
  4.   63 And it shall come to pass, that as the Lord rejoiced over you to do you good, and to multiply you; so the Lord will rejoice over you to destroy you, and to bring you to nought; and ye shall be plucked from off the land whither thou goest to possess it.
  5.   15 Therefore it shall come to pass, that as all good things are come upon you, which the Lord your God apromised you; so shall the Lord bring upon you all evil things, until he have destroyed you from off this good land which the Lord your God hath given you.
  6.   34 And this thing became asin unto the house of Jeroboam, even to cut it off, and to destroy it from off the face of the earth.
  7.   8 Behold, the aeyes of the Lord God are upon the sinful kingdom, and I will bdestroy it from off the face of the earth; saving that I will not utterly cdestroy the house of Jacob, saith the Lord.
  8.   10 And it came to pass that the prophets of the Lord did threaten the people of Nephi, according to the word of God, that if they did not keep the commandments, but should fall into transgression, they should be adestroyed from off the face of the land.
  9.   8 And it shall come to pass that except they repent I will utterly adestroy them from off the face of the earth; yet they shall leave a brecord behind them, and I will preserve them for other nations which shall possess the land; yea, even this will I do that I may discover the abominations of this people to other nations. And many things did Abinadi prophesy against this people.
  10.   12 Behold, now I say unto you that he commandeth you to repent; and except ye repent, ye can in nowise inherit the kingdom of God. But behold, this is not all—he has commanded you to repent, or he will utterly adestroy you from off the face of the earth; yea, he will visit you in his banger, and in his cfierce anger he will not turn away.
          •  •  •
      24 For behold, the apromises of the Lord are extended to the Lamanites, but they are not unto you if ye transgress; for has not the Lord expressly promised and firmly decreed, that if ye will rebel against him that ye shall butterly be destroyed from off the face of the earth?
  11.   22 For behold, the Lord saw that his people began to work in darkness, yea, work secret murders and abominations; therefore the Lord said, if they did not repent they should be destroyed from off the face of the earth.
          •  •  •
      25 I will abring forth out of darkness unto light all their secret works and their abominations; and except they repent I will bdestroy them from off the face of the earth; and I will bring to light all their secrets and abominations, unto every nation that shall hereafter possess the land.
  12.   12 And behold, if ye do not this, I will come against you with my armies; yea, even I will arm my women and my children, and I will come against you, and I will follow you even into your own land, which is the land of aour first inheritance; yea, and it shall be blood for blood, yea, life for life; and I will give you battle even until you are destroyed from off the face of the earth.
  13.   28 And except ye repent ye shall perish; yea, even your lands shall be taken from you, and ye shall be destroyed from off the face of the earth.
  14.   4 Therefore, there was no chance for the robbers to plunder and to obtain food, save it were to come up in open battle against the Nephites; and the Nephites being in one body, and having so great a number, and having reserved for themselves provisions, and ahorses and cattle, and flocks of every kind, that they might subsist for the space of bseven years, in the which time they did hope to destroy the robbers from off the face of the land; and thus the eighteenth year did pass away.
  15.   12 And it came to pass that in the days of Ethem there came many prophets, and prophesied again unto the people; yea, they did prophesy that the Lord would utterly adestroy them from off the face of the earth except they repented of their iniquities.
  16.   33 And there are many that lie in wait to adestroy thee from off the face of the earth; and for this cause, that thy days may be bprolonged, I have given unto thee these commandments.
  17.   30 And God said unto Noah: The end of all flesh is come before me, for the earth is filled with violence, and behold I will adestroy all flesh from off the earth.

"From off"

  1.   4 For yet seven days, and I will cause it to arain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth.
  2.   3 And the waters areturned from off the earth continually: and after the end of the hundred and fifty days the bwaters cwere abated.
          •  •  •
      7 And he sent forth a raven, which went forth to and fro, until the waters were dried up from off the earth.
      8 Also he sent forth a dove from him, to see if the waters were abated from off the face of the ground;
          •  •  •
      11 And the dove came in to him in the evening; and, lo, in her mouth was an olive leaf pluckt off: so Noah knew that the waters were abated from off the earth.
          •  •  •
      13 ¶ And it came to pass in the asix hundredth and first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, the waters were dried up from off the earth: and Noah removed the covering of the ark, and looked, and, behold, the face of the ground was dry.
  3.   40 And by thy sword shalt thou live, and shalt serve thy abrother; and it shall come to pass when thou shalt have the dominion, that thou shalt bbreak his cyoke from off thy neck.
  4.   19 Yet within three days shall Pharaoh lift up thy head from off thee, and shall hang thee on a tree; and the birds shall eat thy flesh from off thee.
  5.   5 And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy ashoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is bholy ground.
  6.   31 And he shall take away all the fat thereof, as the fat is taken away from off the sacrifice of peace offerings; and the priest shall burn it upon the altar for a sweet savour unto the Lord; and the priest shall make an aatonement for him, and it shall be forgiven him.
  7.   34 For the wave breast and the aheave shoulder have I taken of the children of Israel from off the sacrifices of their peace offerings, and have given them unto Aaron the priest and unto his sons by a statute for ever from among the children of Israel.
  8.   28 And Moses took them from off their hands, and burnt them on the altar upon the burnt offering: they were consecrations for a sweet savour: it is an offering made by fire unto the Lord.
  9.   12 And he shall take a acenser full of burning coals of fire from off the altar before the Lord, and his hands full of sweet incense beaten small, and bring it within the vail:
  10.   89 And when Moses was gone into the tabernacle of the congregation to speak with him, then he heard the voice of one aspeaking unto him from off the mercy seat that was upon the ark of testimony, from between the two bcherubims: and he spake unto him.
  11.   11 ¶ And it came to pass on the twentieth day of the second month, in the second year, that the acloud was taken up from off the btabernacle of the testimony.
  12.   10 And the cloud departed from off the tabernacle; and, behold, Miriam became aleprous, white as snow: and Aaron looked upon Miriam, and, behold, she was leprous.
  13.   46 ¶ And Moses said unto Aaron, Take a censer, and put fire therein from off the altar, and put on incense, and go quickly unto the congregation, and make an atonement for them: for there is wrath gone out from the Lord; the aplague is begun.
  14.   26 I call aheaven and earth to witness against you this day, that ye shall soon utterly perish from off the land whereunto ye go over bJordan to possess it; ye shall not prolong your days upon it, but shall cutterly be destroyed.
  15.   15 (For the Lord thy God is a ajealous God among you) lest the banger of the Lord thy God be kindled against thee, and destroy thee from off the face of the earth.
  16.   17 And then the Lord’s wrath be kindled against you, and he ashut up the heaven, that there be no rain, and that the land yield not her fruit; and lest ye bperish quickly from off the good land which the Lord giveth you.
  17.   13 And she shall put the araiment of her captivity from off her, and shall remain in thine house, and bewail her father and her mother a full month: and after that thou shalt go in unto her, and be her husband, and she shall be thy wife.
  18.   9 Then shall his brother’s wife come unto him in the presence of the elders, and loose his ashoe from off his foot, and spit in his face, and shall answer and say, So shall it be done unto that man that will not build up his brother’s house.
  19.   21 The Lord shall make the pestilence cleave unto thee, until he have consumed thee from off the land, whither thou goest to possess it.
          •  •  •
      63 And it shall come to pass, that as the Lord rejoiced over you to do you good, and to multiply you; so the Lord will rejoice over you to destroy you, and to bring you to nought; and ye shall be plucked from off the land whither thou goest to possess it.
  20.   9 And the Lord said unto Joshua, This day have I rolled away the reproach of Egypt from off you. Wherefore the name of the place is called aGilgal unto this day.
          •  •  •
      15 And the captain of the Lord’s host said unto Joshua, Loose thy ashoe from off thy foot; for the place whereon thou standest is bholy. And Joshua did so.
  21.   13 Know for a certainty that the Lord your God will no more drive out any of these nations from before you; but they shall be snares and traps unto you, and ascourges in your sides, and bthorns in your eyes, until ye cperish from off this good land which the Lord your God hath given you.
          •  •  •
      15 Therefore it shall come to pass, that as all good things are come upon you, which the Lord your God apromised you; so shall the Lord bring upon you all evil things, until he have destroyed you from off this good land which the Lord your God hath given you.
      16 When ye have atransgressed the covenant of the Lord your God, which he commanded you, and have gone and served other gods, and bowed yourselves to them; then shall the anger of the Lord be kindled against you, and ye shall perish quickly from off the bgood land which he hath given unto you.
  22.   14 And it came to pass, when she came to him, that she moved him to ask of her father a field: and she lighted from off her ass; and Caleb said unto her, What wilt thou?
  23.   20 For it came to pass, when the flame went up toward heaven from off the altar, that the angel of the Lord ascended in the flame of the altar. And Manoah and his wife looked on it, and fell on their faces to the ground.
  24.   14 ¶ And when he came unto Lehi, the Philistines shouted against him: and the Spirit of the Lord came mightily upon him, and the cords that were upon his arms became as flax that was burnt with fire, and his bands aloosed from off his hands.
  25.   12 Delilah therefore took new ropes, and bound him therewith, and said unto him, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And there were aliers in wait abiding in the chamber. And he brake them from off his arms like a thread.
  26.   18 And it came to pass, when he made mention of the ark of God, that he fell from off the aseat backward by the side of the gate, and his neck brake, and he died: for he was an old man, and heavy. And he had judged Israel forty years.
  27.   5 Wherefore ye shall make images of your emerods, and images of your mice that mar the land; and ye shall give aglory unto the God of Israel: peradventure he will lighten his hand from off you, and from off your gods, and from off your land.
  28.   2 ¶ And it came to pass in an eveningtide, that David arose from off his bed, and walked upon the roof of the king’s house: and from the roof he asaw a woman washing herself; and the woman was very beautiful to blook upon.
          •  •  •
      24 And the shooters shot from off the wall upon thy servants; and some of the king’s servants be dead, and thy servant Uriah the Hittite is dead also.
  29.   30 And he took their king’s acrown from off his head, the weight whereof was a talent of gold with the precious stones: and it was set on David’s head. And he brought forth the spoil of the city in great abundance.
  30.   34 And this thing became asin unto the house of Jeroboam, even to cut it off, and to destroy it from off the face of the earth.
  31.   17 ¶ And king Ahaz cut off the borders of the bases, and removed the laver from off them; and took down the asea from off the brasen oxen that were under it, and put it upon a pavement of stones.
  32.   2 And David took the crown of their king from off his head, and found it to weigh a talent of gold, and there were precious stones in it; and it was set upon David’s head: and he brought also exceeding much spoil out of the city.
  33.   14 There is a generation, whose ateeth are as swords, and their jaw teeth as knives, to devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy from among men.
  34.   6 Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live acoal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar:
  35.   27 And it shall come to pass in that day, that his aburden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the byoke shall be destroyed because of the canointing.
  36.   25 That I will break the aAssyrian in my land, and upon bmy mountains tread him under foot: then shall his cyoke depart from off them, and his burden depart from off their shoulders.
  37.   2 At the same time spake the Lord by Isaiah the son of Amoz, saying, Go and loose the sackcloth from off thy loins, and put off thy shoe from thy foot. And he did so, walking anaked and barefoot.
  38.   8 He will swallow up adeath in bvictory; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the crebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the Lord hath spoken it.
  39.   10 And I will send the sword, the afamine, and the pestilence, among them, till they be bconsumed from off the land that I gave unto them and to their fathers.
  40.   10 ¶ Then Hananiah the prophet took the ayoke from off the prophet Jeremiah’s neck, and brake it.
          •  •  •
      12 ¶ Then the word of the Lord came unto Jeremiah the prophet, after that Hananiah the prophet had broken the yoke from off the neck of the prophet Jeremiah, saying,
          •  •  •
      16 Therefore thus saith the Lord; Behold, I will cast thee from off the face of the earth: this year thou shalt adie, because thou hast taught rebellion against the Lord.
  41.   8 For it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord of hosts, that I will break his ayoke from off thy neck, and will burst thy bonds, and strangers shall no more bserve themselves of him:
  42.   27 ¶ But fear not thou, O my servant aJacob, and be not dismayed, O Israel: for, behold, I will save thee from afar off, and thy seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and be in rest and at ease, and none shall make him afraid.
  43.   18 Then the aglory of the Lord bdeparted from off the threshold of the house, and stood over the cherubims.
  44.   8 Behold, the aeyes of the Lord God are upon the sinful kingdom, and I will bdestroy it from off the face of the earth; saving that I will not utterly cdestroy the house of Jacob, saith the Lord.
  45.   2 Who hate the good, and love the evil; who pluck off their skin from off them, and their flesh from off their bones;
      3 Who also eat the flesh of my people, and flay their skin from off them; and they break their bones, and chop them in pieces, as for the pot, and as flesh within the caldron.
  46.   13 For now will I break his ayoke from off thee, and will burst thy bonds in sunder.
