Sins and transgressions

  1.   7 Keeping mercy for thousands, aforgiving iniquity and transgression and bsin, cand that will by no means dclear the eguilty; visiting the finiquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children’s children, unto the third and to the fourth generation.
  2.   16 And he shall make an atonement for the holy place, because of the uncleanness of the children of Israel, and because of their atransgressions in all their sins: and so shall he do for the tabernacle of the congregation, that remaineth among them in the midst of their uncleanness.
          •  •  •
      21 And Aaron shall lay both his ahands upon the head of the live goat, and bconfess over him all the iniquities of the children of Israel, and all their transgressions in all their sins, putting them upon the head of the goat, and shall send him away by the hand of a cfit man into the wilderness:
  3.   11 Israel hath asinned, and they have also transgressed my covenant which I commanded them: for they have even taken of the accursed thing, and have also stolen, and bdissembled also, and they have put it even among their own stuff.
  4.   19 And Joshua said unto the people, Ye cannot serve the Lord: for he is an aholy God; he is a bjealous God; he will not cforgive your transgressions nor your sins.
  5.   33 ¶ Then they told Saul, saying, Behold, the people sin against the Lord, in that they eat with the blood. And he said, Ye have transgressed: roll a great stone unto me this day.
  6.   24 ¶ And Saul said unto Samuel, I have asinned: for I have btransgressed the commandment of the Lord, and thy words: because I cfeared the people, and obeyed their voice.
  7.   11 Moreover, my father, see, yea, see the skirt of thy robe in my hand: for in that I cut off the skirt of thy robe, and killed thee not, know thou and see that there is neither evil nor transgression in mine hand, and I have not sinned against thee; yet thou huntest my soul to take it.
  8.   50 And forgive thy people that have sinned against thee, and all their transgressions wherein they have transgressed against thee, and give them compassion before them who carried them captive, that they may have compassion on them:
  9.   4 If thy children have sinned against him, and he have cast them away for their transgression;
  10.   23 How many are mine iniquities and sins? make me to aknow my transgression and my sin.
  11.   6 If thou sinnest, what doest thou against him? or if thy transgressions be multiplied, what doest thou unto him?
  12.   13 Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous asins; let them not have bdominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great ctransgression.
  13.   7 Remember not the asins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy bmercy remember thou me for thy goodness’ sake, O Lord.
  14.   1 aBlessed is he whose btransgression is cforgiven, whose sin is covered.
          •  •  •
      5 I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will aconfess my btransgressions unto the Lord; and thou cforgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.
  15.   3 For I aacknowledge my transgressions: and my bsin is ever before me.
          •  •  •
      13 Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be aconverted unto thee.
  16.   3 For, lo, they lie in wait for my soul: the mighty are gathered against me; not for my transgression, nor for my sin, O Lord.
  17.   6 In the atransgression of an evil man there is a bsnare: but the righteous doth sing and rejoice.
  18.   28 ¶ And the destruction of the transgressors and of the sinners shall be together, and they that forsake the Lord shall be consumed.
  19.   25 I, even I, am he that ablotteth out thy btransgressions for mine own csake, and will not remember thy sins.
          •  •  •
      27 Thy afirst father hath sinned, and thy teachers have transgressed against me.
  20.   22 I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy atransgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed thee.
  21.   12 Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto adeath: and he was numbered with the btransgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made cintercession for the transgressors.
  22.   1 Cry aloud, aspare not, lift up thy bvoice like a ctrumpet, and dshew my people their etransgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.
  23.   12 For our transgressions are multiplied before thee, and our sins atestify against us: for our transgressions are with us; and as for our iniquities, we bknow them;
  24.   8 And I will acleanse them from all their iniquity, whereby they have sinned against me; and I will pardon all their iniquities, whereby they have sinned, and whereby they have transgressed against me.
  25.   24 Therefore thus saith the Lord God; Because ye have made your iniquity to be remembered, in that your atransgressions are discovered, so that in all your doings your sins do appear; because, I say, that ye are come to remembrance, ye shall be btaken with the hand.
  26.   10 Therefore, O thou son of man, speak unto the house of Israel; Thus ye speak, saying, If our transgressions and our sins be upon us, and we pine away in them, how should we then live?
          •  •  •
      12 Therefore, thou son of man, say unto the children of thy people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his atransgression: as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turneth from his wickedness; neither shall the righteous be able to live for his righteousness in the day that he sinneth.
  27.   23 Neither shall they defile themselves any more with their aidols, nor with their detestable things, nor with any of their transgressions: but I will bsave them out of all their dwellingplaces, wherein they have sinned, and will ccleanse them: so shall they be my people, and I will be their God.
  28.   11 Yea, all Israel have transgressed thy law, even by departing, that they might not aobey thy voice; therefore the bcurse is poured upon us, and the oath that is written in the law of Moses the servant of God, because we have sinned against him.
          •  •  •
      24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make areconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.
  29.   12 For I know your manifold transgressions and your mighty sins: they afflict the just, they take a abribe, and they bturn aside the cpoor in the gate from their right.
  30.   5 For the atransgression of Jacob is all this, and for the sins of the house of Israel. What is the transgression of Jacob? is it not Samaria? and what are the high places of Judah? are they not Jerusalem?
          •  •  •
      13 O thou inhabitant of Lachish, bind the chariot to the swift beast: she is the beginning of the sin to the daughter of Zion: for the transgressions of Israel were found in thee.
  31.   8 ¶ But truly I am full of apower by the bspirit of the Lord, and of judgment, and of might, to declare unto Jacob his ctransgression, and to Israel his sin.
  32.   7 Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of arams, or with ten thousands of rivers of oil? shall I give my bfirstborn for my ctransgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?
  33.   14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s atransgression, who is the bfigure of him that was to come.
  34.   9 But if ye have arespect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.
  35.   4 Whosoever committeth sin atransgresseth also the law: for bsin is the transgression of the law.
  36.   33 For behold, there is a wo pronounced upon him who listeth to aobey that spirit; for if he listeth to obey him, and remaineth and dieth in his bsins, the same drinketh cdamnation to his own soul; for he receiveth for his wages an deverlasting epunishment, having transgressed the law of God contrary to his own knowledge.
  37.   11 For behold, and also his ablood batoneth for the sins of those who have cfallen by the transgression of Adam, who have died not knowing the dwill of God concerning them, or who have eignorantly sinned.
  38.   14 And ye will not suffer your achildren that they go hungry, or naked; neither will ye bsuffer that they transgress the laws of God, and fight and cquarrel one with another, and serve the devil, who is the master of sin, or who is the devil spirit which hath been spoken of by our fathers, he being an enemy to all righteousness.
  39.   12 Therefore will I divide him a portion with the agreat, and bhe shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death; and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bore the sins of many, and made cintercession for the transgressors.
  40.   12 For these are they whose sins ahe has borne; these are they for whom he has died, to redeem them from their transgressions. And now, are they not his seed?
      13 Yea, and are not the aprophets, every one that has opened his mouth to prophesy, that has not fallen into transgression, I mean all the holy prophets ever since the world began? I say unto you that they are his seed.
  41.   29 Therefore I say unto you, Go; and whosoever transgresseth against me, him shall ye ajudge baccording to the sins which he has committed; and if he cconfess his sins before thee and me, and drepenteth in the sincerity of his heart, him shall ye eforgive, and I will forgive him also.
  42.   13 Now the Spirit aknoweth all things; nevertheless the Son of God suffereth according to the bflesh that he might ctake upon him the sins of his people, that he might blot out their transgressions according to the power of his deliverance; and now behold, this is the testimony which is in me.
  43.   19 For he will not suffer you that ye shall live in your iniquities, to adestroy his people. I say unto you, Nay; he would rather suffer that the Lamanites might destroy all his people who are called the people of Nephi, if it were possible that they could bfall into sins and transgressions, after having had so much light and so much knowledge given unto them of the Lord their God;
  44.   30 And thus we can plainly discern, that after a people have been once aenlightened by the bSpirit of God, and have had great cknowledge of things pertaining to righteousness, and then have dfallen away into sin and transgression, they become more ehardened, and thus their state becomes fworse than though they had never known these things.
  45.   13 And thus we see how great the ainequality of man is because of sin and btransgression, and the power of the devil, which comes by the cunning cplans which he hath devised to ensnare the hearts of men.
  46.   8 And now, behold, I will atestify unto you of myself that these things are true. Behold, I say unto you, that I do know that Christ shall come among the children of men, to take upon him the btransgressions of his people, and that he shall catone for the sins of the world; for the Lord God hath spoken it.
  47.   33 Ye know that ye do transgress the laws of God, and ye do know that ye do trample them under your feet. Behold, the Lord saith unto me: If those whom ye have appointed your governors do not repent of their sins and ainiquities, ye shall bgo up to battle against them.
  48.   2 Nevertheless, thou art not excusable in thy atransgressions; nevertheless, go thy way and sin no more.
  49.   34 O Jehovah, have mercy upon this people, and as all men asin forgive the transgressions of thy people, and let them be blotted out forever.
  50.   17 But athose who cry transgression do it because they are the servants of sin, and are the bchildren of disobedience themselves.

  51.   26 Verily, verily, I say unto you, if a man marry a wife according to my word, and they are sealed by the aHoly Spirit of promise, according to mine appointment, and he or she shall commit any sin or transgression of the new and everlasting covenant whatever, and all manner of blasphemies, and if they bcommit no murder wherein they shed innocent blood, yet they shall come forth in the first resurrection, and enter into their exaltation; but they shall be destroyed in the flesh, and shall be cdelivered unto the buffetings of dSatan unto the day of eredemption, saith the Lord God.
  52.   32 Thus was the gospel preached to those who had adied in their sins, without a bknowledge of the truth, or in ctransgression, having drejected the prophets.
  53.   59 That by reason of transgression cometh the fall, which fall bringeth death, and inasmuch as ye were born into the world by water, and blood, and the aspirit, which I have made, and so became of bdust a living soul, even so ye must be cborn again into the kingdom of heaven, of dwater, and of the Spirit, and be cleansed by blood, even the blood of mine Only Begotten; that ye might be sanctified from all sin, and eenjoy the fwords of geternal life in this world, and eternal life in the world to come, even immortal hglory;
  54.   2 We believe that men will be apunished for their bown sins, and not for Adam’s ctransgression.
