"As I was"

  1.   5 There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with aMoses, so I will be bwith thee: I will not fail thee, nor cforsake thee.
  2.   7 ¶ And the Lord said unto Joshua, This day will I begin to amagnify thee in the sight of all Israel, that they may know that, as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee.
  3.   11 As yet I am as strong this day as I was in the day that Moses sent me: as my strength was then, even so is my strength now, for war, both to go out, and to come in.
  4.   1 The words of Nehemiah the son of Hachaliah. And it came to pass in the month aChisleu, in the twentieth year, as I was in bShushan the palace,
  5.   4 As I was in the days of my youth, when the asecret of God was upon my tabernacle;
  6.   1 Now it came to pass in the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, in the fifth day of the month, as I was among the acaptives by the river of bChebar, that the heavens were copened, and I saw dvisions of God.
  7.   7 And I did so as I was commanded: I brought forth my stuff by day, as stuff for captivity, and in the aeven I digged through the wall with mine hand; I brought it forth in the twilight, and I bare it upon my shoulder in their sight.
  8.   18 So I spake unto the people in the morning: and at even my wife died; and I did in the morning as I was commanded.
  9.   7 So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, abone to his bone.
  10.   5 And as I was considering, behold, an he agoat came from the west on the face of the whole earth, and touched not the ground: and the goat had a notable horn between his eyes.
  11.   4 And in the four and twentieth day of the first month, as I was by the side of the great river, which is aHiddekel;
  12.   29 Therefore came I unto you without gainsaying, as soon as I was sent for: I ask therefore for what intent ye have sent for me?
  13.   7 As I was journeying to see a very near kindred, behold an aangel of the Lord appeared unto me and said: Amulek, return to thine own house, for thou shalt feed a prophet of the Lord; yea, a holy man, who is a chosen man of God; for he has bfasted many days because of the sins of this people, and he is an hungered, and thou shalt creceive him into thy house and feed him, and he shall bless thee and thy house; and the blessing of the Lord shall rest upon thee and thy house.
8 And it came to pass that I obeyed the voice of the angel, and returned towards my house. And as I was going thither I found the aman whom the angel said unto me: Thou shalt receive into thy house—and behold it was this same man who has been speaking unto you concerning the things of God.
  14.   17 And it came to pass that as I was thus aracked with torment, while I was bharrowed up by the cmemory of my many sins, behold, I dremembered also to have heard my father prophesy unto the people concerning the coming of one Jesus Christ, a Son of God, to atone for the sins of the world.
  15.   57 And again, I say, let not my servant Joseph put his property out of his hands, lest an enemy come and destroy him; for aSatan bseeketh to destroy; for I am the Lord thy God, and he is my servant; and behold, and lo, I am with him, as I was with Abraham, thy father, even unto his cexaltation and glory.
  16.   2 And from that time forth Enoch began to prophesy, saying unto the people, that: As I was journeying, and stood upon the place Mahujah, and cried unto the Lord, there came a voice out of heaven, saying—Turn ye, and get ye upon the mount aSimeon.
  17.   8 During this time of great excitement my mind was called up to serious reflection and great uneasiness; but though my feelings were deep and often poignant, still I kept myself aloof from all these parties, though I attended their several meetings as often as occasion would permit. In process of time my mind became somewhat partial to the Methodist sect, and I felt some desire to be united with them; but so great were the confusion and astrife among the different denominations, that it was impossible for a person young as I was, and so unacquainted with men and things, to come to any certain conclusion who was bright and who was wrong.
          •  •  •
26 I had now got my mind satisfied so far as the sectarian world was concerned—that it was not my duty to join with any of them, but to continue as I was until further adirected. I had found the testimony of James to be true—that a man who lacked wisdom might ask of God, and obtain, and not be bupbraided.

"As I was journeying"

  1.   7 As I was journeying to see a very near kindred, behold an aangel of the Lord appeared unto me and said: Amulek, return to thine own house, for thou shalt feed a prophet of the Lord; yea, a holy man, who is a chosen man of God; for he has bfasted many days because of the sins of this people, and he is an hungered, and thou shalt creceive him into thy house and feed him, and he shall bless thee and thy house; and the blessing of the Lord shall rest upon thee and thy house.
  2.   2 And from that time forth Enoch began to prophesy, saying unto the people, that: As I was journeying, and stood upon the place Mahujah, and cried unto the Lord, there came a voice out of heaven, saying—Turn ye, and get ye upon the mount aSimeon.

Day of the month

          •  •  •
17 ¶ And it came to pass in the first month in the second year, on the first day of the month, that the tabernacle was areared up.
  6.   29 ¶ And this shall be a statute for ever unto you: that in the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, ye shall aafflict your souls, and do no work at all, whether it be one of your own bcountry, or a stranger that sojourneth among you:
  7.   5 In the afourteenth day of the first month bat even is the Lord’s cpassover.
6 And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto the Lord: seven days ye must eat aunleavened bread.
          •  •  •
24 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, In the seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of ablowing of btrumpets, an holy cconvocation.
          •  •  •
27 Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of atonement: it shall be an holy aconvocation unto you; and ye shall bafflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord.
          •  •  •
32 It shall be unto you a sabbath of rest, and ye shall afflict your souls: in the ninth day of the month at even, from even unto even, shall ye acelebrate your sabbath.
          •  •  •
34 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, The fifteenth day of this aseventh month shall be the bfeast of ctabernacles for seven days unto the Lord.
          •  •  •
39 Also in the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when ye have gathered in the fruit of the land, ye shall keep a feast unto the Lord seven days: on the first day shall be a sabbath, and on the eighth day shall be a sabbath.
  8.   9 Then shalt thou acause the trumpet of the jubile to sound on the tenth day of the seventh month, in the day of atonement shall ye make the trumpet sound throughout all your land.
  9.   1 And the Lord aspake unto Moses in the bwilderness of Sinai, in the tabernacle of the congregation, on the first day of the second month, in the csecond year after they were come out of the land of Egypt, saying,
          •  •  •
18 And they assembled all the congregation together on the first day of the second month, and they declared their apedigrees after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, by their polls.
  10.   3 In the afourteenth day of this month, at even, ye shall keep it in his appointed season: according to all the rites of it, and according to all the ceremonies thereof, shall ye keep it.
          •  •  •
5 And they kept the passover on the fourteenth day of the first month at even in the wilderness of Sinai: according to all that the Lord commanded Moses, so did the children of Israel.
          •  •  •
11 The fourteenth day of the asecond month at even they shall keep it, and eat it with bunleavened bread and bitter herbs.
  11.   11 ¶ And it came to pass on the twentieth day of the second month, in the second year, that the acloud was taken up from off the btabernacle of the testimony.
  12.   16 And in the fourteenth day of the first month is the apassover of the Lord.
17 And in the fifteenth day of this month is the afeast: seven days shall unleavened bread be eaten.
  13.   1 And in the seventh month, on the first day of the month, ye shall have an holy aconvocation; ye shall do no servile work: it is a day of blowing the btrumpets unto you.
          •  •  •
7 ¶ And ye shall have on the tenth day of this seventh month an holy convocation; and ye shall afflict your souls: ye shall not do any work therein:
          •  •  •
12 ¶ And on the fifteenth day of the seventh month ye shall have an holy convocation; ye shall do no servile work, and ye shall keep a afeast unto the Lord seven days:
  14.   3 And they departed from aRameses in the first month, on the fifteenth day of the first month; on the morrow after the passover the children of Israel went out bwith an chigh hand in the sight of all the Egyptians.
          •  •  •
38 And aAaron the priest went up into mount Hor at the commandment of the Lord, and died there, in the bfortieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the first day of the fifth month.
  15.   3 And it came to pass in the afortieth year, in the eleventh month, on the first day of the month, that Moses spake unto the children of Israel, according unto all that the Lord had given him in commandment unto them;
  16.   19 ¶ And the people came up out of Jordan on the tenth day of the first month, and encamped in aGilgal, in the east border of Jericho.
  17.   10 ¶ And the children of Israel encamped in Gilgal, and kept the apassover on the fourteenth day of the month at even in the plains of Jericho.
  18.   27 And it came to pass on the morrow, which was the second day of the month, that David’s place was empty: and Saul said unto Jonathan his son, Wherefore cometh not the son of Jesse to meat, neither yesterday, nor to day?
          •  •  •
34 So Jonathan arose from the table in fierce anger, and did eat no meat the second day of the month: for he was grieved for David, because his father had done him shame.
  19.   32 And Jeroboam ordained a feast in the eighth month, on the fifteenth day of the month, like unto the afeast that is in Judah, and he offered upon the altar. So did he in Beth-el, sacrificing unto the calves that he had made: and he placed in Beth-el the bpriests of the high places which he had made.
33 So he offered upon the altar which he had made in Beth-el the fifteenth day of the eighth month, even in the month which he had devised of his own heart; and ordained a feast unto the children of Israel: and he offered upon the altar, and burnt incense.
  20.   1 And it came to pass in the aninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, that bNebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came, he, and all his host, against Jerusalem, and pitched against it; and they cbuilt forts against it round about.
          •  •  •
3 And on the ninth day of the fourth month the famine prevailed in the city, and there was no bread for the people of the land.
          •  •  •
8 ¶ And in the fifth month, on the seventh day of the month, which is the nineteenth year of king Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, came aNebuzar-adan, captain of the guard, a servant of the king of Babylon, unto Jerusalem:
          •  •  •
      27 ¶ And it came to pass in the seven and thirtieth year of the captivity of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, on the seven and twentieth day of the month, that Evil-merodach king of Babylon in the year that he began to reign did lift up the head of Jehoiachin king of Judah out of prison;
  21.   2 And he began to build in the second day of the second month, in the fourth year of his reign.
  22.   10 And on the three and twentieth day of the seventh month he sent the people away into their tents, glad and merry in heart for the goodness that the Lord had shewed unto David, and to Solomon, and to Israel his people.
  23.   17 Now they began on the first day of the first month to sanctify, and on the eighth day of the month came they to the porch of the Lord: so they sanctified the house of the Lord in eight days; and in the sixteenth day of the first month they made an end.
  24.   15 Then they killed the passover on the fourteenth day of the second month: and the priests and the Levites were ashamed, and sanctified themselves, and brought in the burnt offerings into the house of the Lord.
  25.   1 Moreover Josiah kept a apassover unto the Lord in Jerusalem: and they killed the passover on the bfourteenth day of the first month.
  26.   6 From the first day of the seventh month began they to offer burnt offerings unto the Lord. But the foundation of the temple of the Lord was not yet laid.
  27.   15 And this house was finished on the third day of the month aAdar, which was in the sixth year of the reign of Darius the king.
          •  •  •
19 And the children of the captivity kept the apassover upon the bfourteenth day of the first month.
  28.   9 For upon the first day of the first month began he to go up from Babylon, and on the first day of the fifth month came he to Jerusalem, according to the good ahand of his God upon him.
  29.   31 ¶ Then we departed from the river of Ahava on the twelfth day of the first month, to go unto Jerusalem: and the hand of our God was upon us, and he delivered us from the hand of the enemy, and of such as lay in wait by the way.
  30.   9 ¶ Then all the men of Judah and Benjamin gathered themselves together unto Jerusalem within three days. It was the ninth month, on the twentieth day of the month; and all the people sat in the street of the house of God, trembling because of this matter, and for the great rain.
          •  •  •
16 And the children of the captivity did so. And Ezra the priest, with certain chief of the fathers, after the house of their fathers, and all of them by their names, were separated, and sat down in the first day of the tenth month to examine the matter.
17 And they made an end with all the men that had taken strange wives by the first day of the first month.
  31.   15 ¶ So the wall was finished in the twenty and fifth day of the month aElul, in fifty and two days.
  32.   2 And Ezra the priest brought the alaw before the congregation both of men and women, and all that could hear with understanding, upon the first day of the seventh month.
  33.   1 Now in the twenty and fourth day of this month the children of Israel were assembled with afasting, and with sackclothes, and earth upon them.
  34.   12 Then were the king’s scribes called on the thirteenth day of the first month, and there was written according to all that Haman had commanded unto the king’s lieutenants, and to the governors that were over every province, and to the rulers of every people of every province according to the writing thereof, and to every people after their language; in the aname of king Ahasuerus was it written, and bsealed with the king’s ring.
13 And the aletters were sent by posts into all the king’s provinces, to destroy, to bkill, and to cause to perish, all Jews, both young and old, little children and women, in cone day, even upon the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which is the month Adar, and to take the spoil of them for a prey.
  35.   12 Upon aone day in all the provinces of king Ahasuerus, namely, upon the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which is the month Adar.
  36.   1 Now in the twelfth month, that is, the month Adar, on the thirteenth day of the same, when the king’s acommandment and his decree drew near to be put in execution, in the day that the enemies of the Jews hoped to have power over them, (though it was turned to the contrary, that the Jews had rule over them that hated them;)
          •  •  •
15 For the Jews that were in Shushan gathered themselves together on the fourteenth day also of the month Adar, and slew three hundred men at Shushan; but on the prey they laid not their hand.
          •  •  •
17 On the thirteenth day of the month Adar; and on the fourteenth day of the same rested they, and made it a day of feasting and gladness.
          •  •  •
19 Therefore the Jews of the villages, that dwelt in the unwalled towns, made the fourteenth day of the month Adar a day of gladness and feasting, and a good aday, and of sending bportions one to another.
          •  •  •
21 To stablish this among them, that they should keep the fourteenth day of the month Adar, and the fifteenth day of the same, yearly,
  37.   2 And in the eleventh year of Zedekiah, in the fourth month, the ninth day of the month, the city was broken up.
  38.   4 ¶ And it came to pass in the aninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, that Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon came, he and all his army, against Jerusalem, and pitched against it, and built bforts against it round about.
          •  •  •
6 And in the fourth month, in the ninth day of the month, the afamine was sore in the city, so that there was no bbread for the people of the land.
          •  •  •
12 ¶ Now in the fifth month, in the tenth day of the month, which was the nineteenth year of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, came Nebuzar-adan, captain of the guard, which served the king of Babylon, into Jerusalem,
          •  •  •
31 ¶ And it came to pass in the seven and thirtieth year of the captivity of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, in the five and twentieth day of the month, that Evil-merodach king of Babylon in the first year of his reign lifted up the head of aJehoiachin king of Judah, and brought him forth out of prison,
  39.   1 Now it came to pass in the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, in the fifth day of the month, as I was among the acaptives by the river of bChebar, that the heavens were copened, and I saw dvisions of God.
2 In the fifth day of the month, which was the afifth year of king bJehoiachin’s captivity,
  40.   1 And it came to pass in the sixth year, in the sixth month, in the fifth day of the month, as I sat in mine house, and the aelders of Judah sat before me, that the bhand of the Lord God fell there upon me.
  41.   1 And it came to pass in the seventh ayear, in the fifth month, the tenth day of the month, that certain of the belders of Israel came to enquire of the Lord, and sat before me.
  42.   1 Again in the aninth year, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
  43.   1 And it came to pass in the eleventh ayear, in the first day of the month, that the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
  44.   1 In the tenth year, in the tenth month, in the twelfth day of the month, the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
          •  •  •
17 ¶ And it came to pass in the seven and twentieth year, in the first month, in the first day of the month, the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
  45.   20 ¶ And it came to pass in the eleventh year, in the first month, in the seventh day of the month, that the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
  46.   1 And it came to pass in the eleventh year, in the third month, in the first day of the month, that the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
  47.   1 And it came to pass in the twelfth year, in the twelfth month, in the first day of the month, that the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
          •  •  •
17 ¶ It came to pass also in the twelfth year, in the fifteenth day of the month, that the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
  48.   21 ¶ And it came to pass in the atwelfth year of our captivity, in the tenth month, in the fifth day of the month, that one that had bescaped out of Jerusalem came unto me, saying, The ccity is smitten.
  49.   1 In the five and twentieth year of our captivity, in the beginning of the year, in the tenth day of the month, in the fourteenth year after that the city was smitten, in the selfsame day the ahand of the Lord was upon me, and brought me thither.
  50.   18 Thus saith the Lord God; In the first month, in the first day of the month, thou shalt take a young bullock without blemish, and cleanse the sanctuary:
          •  •  •
20 And so thou shalt do the seventh day of the month for every one that aerreth, and for him that is simple: so shall ye breconcile the house.
21 In the first month, in the afourteenth day of the month, ye shall have the passover, a feast of seven days; bunleavened bread shall be eaten.
          •  •  •
25 In the aseventh month, in the fifteenth day of the month, shall he do the like in the feast of the seven days, according to the sin offering, according to the burnt offering, and according to the meat offering, and according to the oil.

  51.   4 And in the four and twentieth day of the first month, as I was by the side of the great river, which is aHiddekel;
  52.   1 In athe second year of Darius the king, in the sixth bmonth, in the first day of the month, came the word of the Lord by Haggai the prophet unto cZerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, saying,
          •  •  •
15 In the four and twentieth day of the sixth month, in the second year of Darius the king.
  53.   1 In the seventh amonth, in the one and twentieth day of the month, came the word of the Lord by the prophet Haggai, saying,
          •  •  •
10 ¶ In the four and twentieth day of the ninth amonth, in the second year of Darius, came the word of the Lord by Haggai the prophet, saying,
          •  •  •
18 aConsider now from this day and upward, from the four and twentieth day of the ninth month, even from the day that the foundation of the Lord’s temple was laid, consider it.
          •  •  •
20 ¶ And again the word of the Lord came unto Haggai in the four and twentieth day of the month, saying,
  54.   7 ¶ Upon the four and twentieth day of the eleventh month, which is the month Sebat, in the second year of Darius, came the word of the Lord unto Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo the prophet, saying,
  55.   1 And it came to pass in the fourth year of king Darius, that the word of the Lord came unto Zechariah in the fourth day of the ninth month, even in Chisleu;
  56.   6 Nevertheless, I did harden my heart, for I was acalled many times and I would not bhear; therefore I knew concerning these things, yet I would not know; therefore I went on rebelling cagainst God, in the wickedness of my heart, even until the fourth day of this seventh month, which is in the tenth year of the reign of the judges.
  57.   1 And it came to pass in the eleventh year of the reign of the judges over the people of Nephi, on the fifth day of the second month, there having been much peace in the land of Zarahemla, there having been no wars nor contentions for a certain number of years, even until the fifth day of the second month in the eleventh year, there was a cry of war heard throughout the land.
  58.   1 And now it came to pass in the eleventh month of the nineteenth year, on the tenth day of the month, the armies of the Lamanites were seen approaching towards the land of aAmmonihah.
  59.   42 But it came to pass that they did not pursue us far before they halted; and it was in the morning of the third day of the seventh month.
  60.   5 And it came to pass in the athirty and fourth year, in the first month, on the fourth day of the month, there arose a great bstorm, such an one as never had been known in all the land.
  61.   1 The arise of the bChurch of Christ in these last days, being one thousand eight hundred and thirty years since the ccoming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in the flesh, it being regularly dorganized and established agreeable to the elaws of our country, by the will and commandments of God, in the fourth month, and on the sixth day of the month which is called April—
  62.   3 Which achurch was borganized and established in the year of your Lord eighteen hundred and thirty, in the fourth month, and on the sixth day of the month which is called April.
  63.

Fourth day of the month

  1.   1 Now in the twenty and fourth day of this month the children of Israel were assembled with afasting, and with sackclothes, and earth upon them.
  2.   1 And it came to pass in the fourth year of king Darius, that the word of the Lord came unto Zechariah in the fourth day of the ninth month, even in Chisleu;
  3.   6 Nevertheless, I did harden my heart, for I was acalled many times and I would not bhear; therefore I knew concerning these things, yet I would not know; therefore I went on rebelling cagainst God, in the wickedness of my heart, even until the fourth day of this seventh month, which is in the tenth year of the reign of the judges.
  4.   5 And it came to pass in the athirty and fourth year, in the first month, on the fourth day of the month, there arose a great bstorm, such an one as never had been known in all the land.
  5.   10 And let the beginning be made on the fourth day of July next; and from that time forth let my people alabor diligently to build a house unto my name;

Wickedness of hearts

  1.   6 Yea, it grieveth my soul and causeth me to shrink with shame before the presence of my Maker, that I must testify unto you concerning the wickedness of your hearts.
  2.   6 Nevertheless, I did harden my heart, for I was acalled many times and I would not bhear; therefore I knew concerning these things, yet I would not know; therefore I went on rebelling cagainst God, in the wickedness of my heart, even until the fourth day of this seventh month, which is in the tenth year of the reign of the judges.

"I went on"

  1.   14 Then I went on to the agate of the fountain, and to the king’s pool: but there was no place for the beast that was under me to pass.
  2.   6 Nevertheless, I did harden my heart, for I was acalled many times and I would not bhear; therefore I knew concerning these things, yet I would not know; therefore I went on rebelling cagainst God, in the wickedness of my heart, even until the fourth day of this seventh month, which is in the tenth year of the reign of the judges.
