You/ye/thou shall/will/shalt/wilt not

  1.   17 But of the atree of the bknowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the cday that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely ddie.
  2.   1 Now the aserpent was more bsubtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, cYea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
          •  •  •
      3 But of the fruit of the atree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
      4 And the serpent said unto the woman, aYe shall not surely die:
          •  •  •
      17 And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy awife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: bcursed is the ground for thy sake; in csorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;
  3.   15 ¶ And God said unto Abraham, As for Sarai thy wife, thou shalt not call her name Sarai, but aSarah shall her name be.
  4.   23 Now therefore swear unto me here by God that thou wilt not deal falsely with me, nor with my son, nor with my son’s son: but according to the kindness that I have done unto thee, thou shalt do unto me, and to the land wherein thou hast sojourned.
  5.   3 And I will make thee aswear by the Lord, the God of heaven, and the God of the earth, that thou shalt bnot take a cwife unto my son of the daughters of the dCanaanites, among whom I dwell:
          •  •  •
      37 And my master made me aswear, saying, Thou shalt not take a wife to my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, in whose land I dwell:
  6.   1 And Isaac called Jacob, and blessed him, and charged him, and said unto him, Thou shalt not take a awife of the daughters of bCanaan.
          •  •  •
      6 ¶ When Esau saw that Isaac had blessed Jacob, and sent him away to Padan-aram, to take him a wife from thence; and that as he blessed him he gave him a charge, saying, Thou shalt not take a wife of the daughters of Canaan;
  7.   31 And he said, What shall I give thee? And Jacob said, Thou shalt not give me any thing: if thou wilt do this thing for me, I will again feed and keep thy flock.
  8.   52 This heap be witness, and this pillar be witness, that I will not pass over this heap to thee, and that thou shalt not pass over this heap and this pillar unto me, for harm.
  9.   17 But if ye will not hearken unto us, to be circumcised; then will we take our daughter, and we will be gone.
  10.   15 Hereby ye shall be proved: By the life of Pharaoh ye shall not go forth hence, except your youngest brother come hither.
          •  •  •
      20 But bring your youngest brother unto me; so shall your words be verified, and ye shall not die. And they did so.
  11.   3 And Judah spake unto him, saying, The man did solemnly protest unto us, saying, Ye shall not see my face, except your abrother be with you.
          •  •  •
      5 But if thou wilt not send him, we will not go down: for the man said unto us, Ye shall not see my face, except your abrother be with you.
  12.   4 Unstable as water, thou shalt not excel; because thou wentest up to thy father’s abed; then bdefiledst thou it: he went up to my couch.
  13.   21 And I will give this people favour in the sight of the Egyptians: and it shall come to pass, that, when ye go, ye shall not go aempty:
  14.   8 And the atale of the bricks, which they did make heretofore, ye shall lay upon them; ye shall not diminish ought thereof: for they be idle; therefore they cry, saying, Let us go and sacrifice to our God.
          •  •  •
      19 And the officers of the children of Israel did see that they awere in evil case, after it was said, Ye shall not minish ought from your bricks of your daily task.
  15.   21 Else, if thou wilt not let my people go, behold, I will send swarms of aflies upon thee, and upon thy servants, and upon thy people, and into thy houses: and the houses of the Egyptians shall be full of swarms of flies, and also the ground whereon they are.
          •  •  •
      28 And Pharaoh said, I will let you go, that ye may sacrifice to the Lord your God in the wilderness; only ye shall not go very far away: intreat for me.
  16.   17 As yet aexaltest thou thyself against my people, that thou wilt not let them go?
          •  •  •
      30 But as for thee and thy servants, I know that ye will not yet fear the Lord God.
  17.   46 In one house shall it be eaten; thou shalt not carry forth aought of the flesh babroad out of the house; neither shall ye cbreak a dbone thereof.
  18.   13 And every firstling of an ass thou shalt redeem with a lamb; and if thou wilt not redeem it, then thou shalt break his neck: and all the afirstborn of man among thy children shalt thou redeem.
  19.   25 And Moses said, Eat that to day; for to day is a sabbath unto the Lord: to day ye shall not find it in the field.
  20.   4 Thou shalt anot make unto thee any bgraven cimage, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
      5 Thou shalt not abow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a bjealous God, cvisiting the diniquity of the efathers upon the fchildren unto the third and fourth generation of them that ghate me;
          •  •  •
      7 Thou shalt not take the aname of the Lord thy God in bvain; for the Lord will not hold him cguiltless that dtaketh his name in vain.
          •  •  •
      10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy astranger that is within thy gates:
          •  •  •
      13 Thou shalt not akill.
      14 Thou shalt not commit aadultery.
      15 Thou shalt not asteal.
      16 Thou shalt not bear afalse witness against thy bneighbour.
      17 Thou shalt not acovet thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s bwife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour’s.
          •  •  •
      23 Ye shall not make awith me bgods of silver, neither shall ye make unto you gods of gold.
          •  •  •
      25 And if thou wilt make me an altar of stone, thou shalt not build it of hewn astone: for if thou lift up thy btool upon it, thou hast polluted it.
  21.   18 ¶ Thou shalt not suffer a awitch to live.
          •  •  •
      22 ¶ Ye shall not afflict any awidow, or fatherless child.
          •  •  •
      25 ¶ If thou alend money to any of my people that is poor by thee, thou shalt not be to him as an usurer, neither shalt thou lay upon him busury.
          •  •  •
      28 ¶ Thou shalt not arevile bthe gods, nor ccurse the druler of thy people.
      29 ¶ Thou shalt not delay to offer the afirst of thy ripe fruits, and of thy bliquors: the cfirstborn of thy sons shalt thou give unto me.
  22.   1 Thou shalt not raise a afalse report: put not thine hand with the wicked to be an unrighteous witness.
      2 ¶ aThou shalt not bfollow a multitude to do evil; neither shalt thou speak in a cause to decline after many to wrest cjudgment:
          •  •  •
      6 Thou shalt not awrest the bjudgment of thy poor in his ccause.
          •  •  •
      9 ¶ Also thou shalt not oppress a stranger: for ye know the heart of a stranger, seeing ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.
          •  •  •
      18 Thou shalt not offer the ablood of my sacrifice with bleavened bread; neither shall the fat of my sacrifice remain until the morning.
      19 The first of the afirstfruits of thy land thou shalt bring into the house of the Lord thy God. Thou shalt not bseethe a kid in his mother’s milk.
          •  •  •
      24 Thou shalt not abow down to their gods, nor serve them, nor do after their works: but thou shalt utterly boverthrow them, and quite break down their images.
  23.   37 And as for the perfume which thou shalt make, ye shall not make to yourselves according to the composition thereof: it shall be unto thee holy for the Lord.
  24.   25 Thou shalt not offer the ablood of my sacrifice with bleaven; neither shall the sacrifice of the feast of the passover be cleft unto the morning.
      26 The first of the afirstfruits of thy land thou shalt bring unto the house of the Lord thy God. Thou shalt not bseethe a kid in his mother’s milk.
  25.   33 And ye shall not go out of the door of the tabernacle of the congregation in seven adays, until the days of your consecration be at an end: for bseven days shall he consecrate you.
  26.   7 And ye shall not go out from the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die: for the aanointing oil of the Lord is upon you. And they did according to the word of Moses.
  27.   11 They shall be even an abomination unto you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, but ye shall have their carcases in abomination.
          •  •  •
      42 Whatsoever goeth upon the belly, and whatsoever goeth upon all four, or awhatsoever hath more feet among all creeping things that creep upon the earth, them ye shall not eat; for they are an abomination.
      43 Ye shall not make yourselves aabominable with any creeping thing that creepeth, neither shall ye make yourselves unclean with them, that ye should be defiled thereby.
  28.   3 After the adoings of the land of Egypt, wherein ye dwelt, shall ye not do: and after the doings of the land of Canaan, whither I bring you, shall ye not do: neither shall ye bwalk in their ordinances.
          •  •  •
      7 The anakedness of thy father, or the nakedness of thy mother, shalt thou not uncover: she is thy mother; thou shalt not uncover her nakedness.
          •  •  •
      9 The nakedness of thy sister, the daughter of thy father, or daughter of thy mother, whether she be born at home, or born abroad, even their nakedness thou shalt not auncover.
      10 The nakedness of thy son’s daughter, or of thy daughter’s daughter, even their nakedness thou shalt not uncover: for theirs is thine own nakedness.
      11 The nakedness of thy father’s wife’s daughter, begotten of thy father, she is thy sister, thou shalt not uncover her nakedness.
      12 Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father’s sister: she is thy father’s near kinswoman.
      13 Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy mother’s sister: for she is thy mother’s near kinswoman.
      14 Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father’s brother, thou shalt not approach to his wife: she is thine aunt.
      15 Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy daughter in law: she is thy son’s wife; thou shalt not uncover her nakedness.
      16 Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy brother’s awife: it is thy brother’s nakedness.
      17 Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of a awoman and her daughter, neither shalt thou take her son’s daughter, or her daughter’s daughter, to uncover her nakedness; for they are her near kinswomen: it is wickedness.
          •  •  •
      19 Also thou shalt not approach unto a awoman to uncover her nakedness, as long as she is put bapart for her uncleanness.
      20 Moreover thou shalt not lie carnally with thy neighbour’s wife, to defile thyself with her.
      21 And thou shalt not let any of thy seed pass through the afire to bMolech, neither shalt thou cprofane the dname of thy God: I am the Lord.
      22 aThou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is babomination.
  29.   9 ¶ And when ye reap the aharvest of your land, thou shalt not wholly breap the corners of thy field, neither shalt thou gather the cgleanings of thy harvest.
      10 And thou shalt not glean thy vineyard, neither shalt thou gather every grape of thy vineyard; thou shalt leave them for the apoor and stranger: I am the Lord your God.
      11 ¶ Ye shall not asteal, neither bdeal falsely, neither clie one to another.
      12 ¶ And ye shall not aswear by my name bfalsely, neither shalt thou cprofane the name of thy God: I am the Lord.
      13 ¶ Thou shalt not adefraud thy bneighbour, neither rob him: the cwages of him that is hired shall not abide with thee all night until the morning.
      14 ¶ Thou shalt not acurse the bdeaf, nor put a cstumblingblock before the dblind, but shalt fear thy God: I am ethe Lord.
      15 ¶ Ye shall do no aunrighteousness in bjudgment: thou shalt not crespect the person of the poor, nor honour the person of the mighty: but in drighteousness shalt thou judge thy neighbour.
      16 ¶ Thou shalt not go up and down as a atalebearer among thy people: neither shalt thou stand against the blood of thy neighbour: I am the Lord.
      17 ¶ Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine aheart: thou shalt in any wise brebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him.
      18 ¶ Thou shalt not aavenge, nor bear any bgrudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt clove thy dneighbour as thyself: I am the Lord.
      19 ¶ Ye shall keep my statutes. Thou shalt not let thy cattle gender with a adiverse kind: thou shalt not sow thy field with bmingled seed: neither shall a garment cmingled of linen and woollen come upon thee.
          •  •  •
      23 ¶ And when ye shall come into the land, and shall have planted all manner of trees for food, then ye shall count the fruit thereof as uncircumcised: three years shall it be as uncircumcised unto you: it shall not be eaten of.
          •  •  •
      26 ¶ Ye shall not eat any thing with the ablood: bneither shall ye use cenchantment, nor dobserve times.
      27 Ye shall not around the corners of your heads, neither shalt thou mar the corners of thy beard.
      28 Ye shall not make any acuttings in your bflesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the Lord.
          •  •  •
      33 ¶ And if a stranger sojourn with thee in your land, ye shall not avex him.
  30.   19 And thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy mother’s sister, nor of thy father’s sister: for he uncovereth his near kin: they shall bear their iniquity.
          •  •  •
      23 And ye shall not awalk in the manners of the bnation, which I cast out before you: for they committed all these things, and therefore I abhorred them.
          •  •  •
      25 Ye shall therefore aput difference between clean beasts and unclean, and between unclean fowls and clean: and ye shall not make your souls abominable by beast, or by fowl, or by any manner of living thing that creepeth on the ground, which I have bseparated from you as cunclean.
  31.   22 aBlind, or bbroken, or maimed, or having a cwen, or scurvy, or scabbed, ye shall not offer these unto the Lord, nor make an offering by fire of them upon the altar unto the Lord.
          •  •  •
      24 Ye shall not offer unto the Lord that which is bruised, or crushed, or broken, or cut; neither shall ye make any offering thereof in your land.
          •  •  •
      28 And whether it be cow or ewe, ye shall not kill ait and her young both in one day.
  32.   22 ¶ And when ye reap the harvest of your land, thou shalt not make clean riddance of the corners of thy field when thou reapest, neither shalt thou gather any gleaning of thy harvest: thou shalt leave them unto the apoor, and to the stranger: I am the Lord your God.
  33.   5 That which groweth of its own accord of thy harvest thou shalt not reap, neither gather the grapes aof thy vine undressed: for it is a year of rest unto the land.
          •  •  •
      11 A ajubile shall that fiftieth year be unto you: ye shall not sow, neither reap that which groweth of itself in it, nor gather the grapes in it of bthy vine undressed.
          •  •  •
      14 And if thou sell ought unto thy neighbour, or buyest ought of thy neighbour’s hand, ye shall not aoppress bone another:
          •  •  •
      17 Ye shall not therefore aoppress bone another; but thou shalt fear thy God: for I am the Lord your God.
          •  •  •
      37 Thou shalt not give him thy money upon ausury, nor lend him thy victuals for increase.
          •  •  •
      39 ¶ And if thy brother that dwelleth by thee be waxen poor, and be asold unto thee; thou shalt not compel him to serve as a bbondservant:
          •  •  •
      43 Thou shalt not rule over him with rigour; but shalt afear thy God.
          •  •  •
      46 And ye shall take them as an ainheritance for your children after you, to inherit them for a possession; they shall be your bondmen bfor ever: but over your brethren the children of Israel, ye shall not rule one over another with rigour.
  34.   14 ¶ But if ye will not ahearken unto me, and will not do all these bcommandments;
      15 And if ye shall despise my statutes, or if your soul abhor my judgments, so that ye will not do all my commandments, but that ye abreak my covenant:
          •  •  •
      18 And if ye will not yet for all this hearken unto me, then I will apunish you seven times more for your sins.
          •  •  •
      23 And if ye will not be reformed by me by these things, but will walk contrary unto me;
          •  •  •
      27 And if ye will not for all this hearken unto me, but walk contrary unto me;
  35.   49 Only thou shalt not number the tribe of Levi, neither take the sum of them among the children of Israel:
  36.   7 But when the congregation is to be gathered together, ye shall blow, but ye shall not sound an alarm.
  37.   19 Ye shall not eat one day, nor two days, nor five days, neither ten days, nor twenty days;
  38.   30 Doubtless ye shall not come into the land, concerning which I sware to make you dwell therein, save Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.
  39.   17 But the afirstling of a cow, or the firstling of a sheep, or the firstling of a goat, thou shalt not redeem; they are holy: thou shalt bsprinkle their blood upon the altar, and shalt burn their fat for an offering made by fire, for a sweet savour unto the Lord.
  40.   12 ¶ And the Lord spake unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye abelieved me not, to bsanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not cbring this congregation into the dland which I have given them.
          •  •  •
      18 And Edom said unto him, Thou shalt not pass aby me, lest I come out against thee with the sword.
          •  •  •
      20 And he said, Thou shalt not go through. And Edom came out against him with much people, and with a strong hand.
  41.   12 And God said unto Balaam, Thou shalt not go with them; thou shalt not curse the people: for they are blessed.
  42.   7 ¶ And ye shall have on the tenth day of this seventh month an holy convocation; and ye shall afflict your souls: ye shall not do any work therein:
  43.   23 But if ye will not do so, behold, ye have sinned against the Lord: and be sure your sin will find you out.
  44.   55 But if ye will not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you; then it shall come to pass, that those which ye let remain of them shall be apricks in your eyes, and thorns in your sides, and shall vex you in the land wherein ye dwell.
  45.   33 So ye shall not apollute the land wherein ye are: for blood it defileth the land: and bthe land cannot be cleansed of the blood that is shed therein, but by the blood of him that shed it.
  46.   17 Ye shall not arespect persons in bjudgment; but ye shall hear the small as well as the great; ye shall not be cafraid of the face of man; for the judgment is God’s: and the cause that is too hard for you, bring it unto me, and I will hear it.
          •  •  •
      37 Also the Lord was aangry with me for your bsakes, saying, Thou also shalt not go in thither.
  47.   22 Ye shall not fear them: for the Lord your God he shall afight for you.
          •  •  •
      27 Get thee up into the top of Pisgah, and lift up thine eyes westward, and northward, and southward, and eastward, and behold it with thine eyes: for thou shalt not go over this Jordan.
  48.   2 Ye shall not aadd unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.
          •  •  •
      26 I call aheaven and earth to witness against you this day, that ye shall soon utterly perish from off the land whereunto ye go over bJordan to possess it; ye shall not prolong your days upon it, but shall cutterly be destroyed.
  49.   8 Thou shalt not make thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath the earth:
      9 Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting athe iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth bgeneration of them that chate me,
          •  •  •
      11 Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain: for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
          •  •  •
      14 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thine ox, nor thine ass, nor any of thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates; that thy manservant and thy maidservant may rest as well as thou.
          •  •  •
      17 Thou shalt not akill.
          •  •  •
      32 Ye shall aobserve to do therefore as the Lord your God hath commanded you: ye shall not bturn aside to the right hand or to the left.
  50.   14 Ye shall not go after aother bgods, of the gods of the people which are round about you;
          •  •  •
      16 ¶ Ye shall not atempt the Lord your God, as ye tempted him in Massah.

  51.   3 Neither shalt thou make amarriages with them; thy daughter thou shalt not give unto his son, nor his daughter shalt thou take unto thy son.
          •  •  •
      18 Thou shalt not be afraid of them: but shalt well remember what the Lord thy God did unto Pharaoh, and unto all Egypt;
          •  •  •
      21 Thou shalt not be affrighted at them: for the Lord thy God is among you, a mighty God and aterrible.
          •  •  •
      25 The graven images of their gods shall ye burn with fire: thou shalt not desire the silver or gold that is on them, nor take it unto thee, lest thou be snared therein: for it is an abomination to the Lord thy God.
  52.   9 A land wherein thou shalt eat bread without scarceness, thou shalt not lack any thing in it; a land whose stones are iron, and out of whose hills thou mayest dig abrass.
  53.   28 And a acurse, if ye will not bobey the commandments of the Lord your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods, which ye have not known.
  54.   4 Ye shall not do so unto the Lord your God.
          •  •  •
      8 Ye shall not do after all the things that we do here this day, every man whatsoever is aright in his own eyes.
          •  •  •
      16 Only ye shall not eat the blood; ye shall pour it upon the earth as water.
          •  •  •
      24 Thou shalt not eat it; thou shalt pour it upon the earth as water.
      25 Thou shalt not eat it; that it may go awell with thee, and with thy children after thee, when thou shalt do that which is right in the sight of the Lord.
          •  •  •
      31 Thou shalt not do so unto the Lord thy God: for every aabomination to the Lord, which he hateth, have they done unto their gods; for even their sons and their daughters they have bburnt in the cfire to their gods.
      32 What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not aadd thereto, nor bdiminish from it.
  55.   3 Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that aprophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the Lord your God bproveth you, to know whether ye love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul.
          •  •  •
      8 Thou shalt not aconsent unto him, nor hearken unto him; neither shall thine eye pity him, neither shalt thou spare, neither shalt thou conceal him:
  56.   1 Ye are the achildren of the Lord your God: ye shall bnot ccut yourselves, nor make any baldness dbetween your eyes for the dead.
          •  •  •
      3 ¶ Thou shalt not aeat any abominable thing.
          •  •  •
      7 Nevertheless these ye shall not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that divide the cloven hoof; as the camel, and the hare, and the coney: for they chew the cud, but divide not the hoof; therefore they are unclean unto you.
      8 And the swine, because it divideth the hoof, yet cheweth not the cud, it is unclean unto you: ye shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch their dead carcase.
          •  •  •
      12 But these are they of which ye shall not eat: the eagle, and the aossifrage, and the ospray,
          •  •  •
      19 And every acreeping thing that flieth is unclean unto you: they shall not be eaten.
          •  •  •
      21 ¶ Ye shall not eat of any thing that dieth of itself: thou shalt agive it unto the stranger that is in thy gates, that he may eat it; or thou mayest bsell it unto an alien: for thou art an holy people unto the Lord thy God. Thou shalt not cseethe a kid in his mother’s milk.
          •  •  •
      27 And the Levite that is within thy gates; thou shalt not forsake him; for he hath no part nor inheritance with thee.
  57.   6 For the Lord thy God blesseth thee, as he promised thee: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, but thou shalt not aborrow; and thou shalt reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over thee.
      7 ¶ If there be among you a poor man of one of thy brethren within any of thy agates in thy land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not bharden thine heart, nor shut thine hand from thy cpoor dbrother:
          •  •  •
      13 And when thou sendest him out free from thee, thou shalt not let him go away empty:
          •  •  •
      21 And if there be any ablemish therein, as if it be lame, or blind, or have any bill blemish, thou shalt not csacrifice it unto the Lord thy God.
          •  •  •
      23 Only thou shalt not eat the blood thereof; thou shalt pour it upon the ground as water.

  203.   4 For the Lord God hath said that: aInasmuch as ye shall keep my commandments ye shall prosper in the land; and inasmuch as ye will not keep my commandments ye shall be cut off from my presence.

          •  •  •
      9 And he spake unto them, saying: Behold, my sons and my daughters, who are the sons and the daughters of my second son; behold I leave unto you the same blessing which I left unto the sons and daughters of Laman; wherefore, thou shalt not utterly be destroyed; but in the end thy seed shall be blessed.

  207.   65 And as they begin to grow ye shall aclear away the branches which bring forth bitter fruit, according to the strength of the good and the size thereof; and ye shall not clear away the bad thereof all at once, lest the roots thereof should be too strong for the graft, and the graft thereof shall perish, and I lose the trees of my vineyard.
  208.   6 For the Lord would not suffer, after he had led them out of the land of Jerusalem and kept and preserved them from falling into the hands of their enemies, yea, he would not suffer that the words should not be verified, which he spake unto our fathers, saying that: aInasmuch as ye will not keep my commandments ye shall not bprosper in the land.
  209.   13 And ye will not have a amind to injure one another, but to live bpeaceably, and to render to every man according to that which is his due.
      14 And ye will not suffer your achildren that they go hungry, or naked; neither will ye bsuffer that they transgress the laws of God, and fight and cquarrel one with another, and serve the devil, who is the master of sin, or who is the devil spirit which hath been spoken of by our fathers, he being an enemy to all righteousness.
          •  •  •
      16 And also, ye yourselves will asuccor those that stand in need of your succor; ye will administer of your substance unto him that standeth in need; and ye will not suffer that the bbeggar putteth up his petition to you in vain, and turn him out to perish.
  210.   36 aThou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing in heaven above, or things which are in the earth beneath.
  211.   12 And now, ye remember that I asaid unto you: Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of things which are in heaven above, or which are in the earth beneath, or which are in the water under the earth.
      13 And again: Thou shalt not abow down thyself unto them, nor serve them; for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquities of the fathers upon the children, unto the third and fourth generations of them that hate me;
          •  •  •
      15 Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him aguiltless that taketh his name in vain.
          •  •  •
      18 But the seventh day, the sabbath of the Lord thy God, thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy man-servant, nor thy maid-servant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates;
          •  •  •
      21 Thou shalt not akill.
      22 Thou shalt not commit aadultery. Thou shalt not bsteal.
      23 Thou shalt not bear afalse witness against thy neighbor.
      24 Thou shalt not acovet thy neighbor’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s wife, nor his man-servant, nor his maid-servant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor anything that is thy neighbor’s.

  213.   14 But Limhi said unto them: Ye shall not slay him, but bring him hither that I may see him. And they brought him. And Limhi said unto him: What cause have ye to come up to war against my people? Behold, my people have not broken the aoath that I made unto you; therefore, why should ye break the oath which ye made unto my people?
  214.   7 But he said unto them: Behold, it is not expedient that we should have a king; for thus saith the Lord: Ye shall anot esteem one flesh above another, or one man shall not think himself above another; therefore I say unto you it is not expedient that ye should have a king.
  215.   35 Yea, come unto me and bring forth works of righteousness, and ye shall not be hewn down and cast into the fire—
          •  •  •
      37 O ye workers of iniquity; ye that are apuffed up in the vain things of the world, ye that have professed to have known the ways of righteousness nevertheless have gone bastray, as csheep having no dshepherd, notwithstanding a shepherd hath ecalled after you and is still calling after you, but ye will not fhearken unto his voice!
      38 Behold, I say unto you, that the good ashepherd doth call you; yea, and in his own name he doth call you, which is the name of Christ; and if ye will not bhearken unto the voice of the cgood shepherd, to the dname by which ye are called, behold, ye are not the sheep of the good shepherd.
  216.   13 Behold, do ye not remember the words which he spake unto Lehi, saying that: aInasmuch as ye shall keep my commandments, ye shall prosper in the land? And again it is said that: Inasmuch as ye will not keep my commandments ye shall be cut off from the presence of the Lord.
  217.   23 But it is by the aprayers of the righteous that ye are spared; now therefore, if ye will bcast out the righteous from among you then will not the Lord stay his hand; but in his fierce anger he will come out against you; then ye shall be smitten by famine, and by pestilence, and by the sword; and the ctime is soon at hand except ye repent.
          •  •  •
      25 But Amulek stretched forth his hand, and cried the mightier unto them, saying: O ye wicked and perverse generation, why hath Satan got such great hold upon your hearts? Why will ye yield yourselves unto him that he may have power over you, to ablind your eyes, that ye will not understand the words which are spoken, according to their truth?
  218.   34 And Zeezrom said again: Shall he save his people ain their sins? And Amulek answered and said unto him: I say unto you he shall not, for it is impossible for him to deny his word.
  219.   36 And now, my brethren, behold I say unto you, that if ye will harden your hearts ye shall not enter into the rest of the Lord; therefore your iniquity aprovoketh him that he sendeth down his bwrath upon you as in the cfirst provocation, yea, according to his word in the last provocation as well as the first, to the everlasting ddestruction of your souls; therefore, according to his word, unto the last death, as well as the first.
  220.   2 And the voice of the Lord came to Ammon, saying: Thou shalt not go up to the land of Nephi, for behold, the king will seek thy life; but thou shalt go to the land of aMiddoni; for behold, thy brother Aaron, and also Muloki and Ammah are in prison.
          •  •  •
      17 But Ammon stood forth and said unto him: Behold, thou shalt not slay thy son; nevertheless, it were abetter that he should fall than thee, for behold, he has brepented of his sins; but if thou shouldst fall at this time, in thine anger, thy soul could not be saved.
  221.   6 And also, what is this that Ammon said—aIf ye will repent ye shall be saved, and if ye will not repent, ye shall be cast off at the last day?
  222.   47 But behold, it is abetter that thy soul should be blost than that thou shouldst be the means of bringing many souls down to destruction, by thy lying and by thy flattering words; therefore if thou shalt deny again, behold God shall smite thee, that thou shalt become dumb, that thou shalt never open thy mouth any more, that thou shalt not deceive this people any more.
  223.   39 Now, this is not because the seed was not good, neither is it because the fruit thereof would not be desirable; but it is because your aground is bbarren, and ye will not nourish the tree, therefore ye cannot have the fruit thereof.
      40 And thus, if ye will not nourish the word, looking forward with an eye of faith to the fruit thereof, ye can never pluck of the fruit of the atree of life.
  224.   30 But behold, my son, this is not all; for ye ought to know as I do know, that ainasmuch as ye shall keep the commandments of God ye shall bprosper in the land; and ye ought to know also, that inasmuch as ye will not keep the commandments of God ye shall be cut off from his presence. Now this is according to his word.
  225.   1 My ason, give ear to my words, for I say unto you, even as I said unto Helaman, that binasmuch as ye shall keep the commandments of God ye shall prosper in the land; and cinasmuch as ye will not keep the commandments of God ye shall be dcut off from his epresence.
  226.   46 And they were doing that which they felt was the aduty which they owed to their God; for the Lord had said unto them, and also unto their fathers, that: bInasmuch as ye are not guilty of the cfirst offense, neither the second, ye shall not suffer yourselves to be slain by the hands of your enemies.
  227.   11 Now I cannot recall the words which I have spoken, therefore as the Lord liveth, ye shall not depart except ye depart with an oath that ye will not return again against us to war. Now as ye are in our hands we will spill your blood upon the ground, or ye shall submit to the conditions which I have proposed.
  228.   9 But behold, I have somewhat to aprophesy unto thee; but what I prophesy unto thee ye shall not make known; yea, what I prophesy unto thee shall not be made known, even until the prophecy is fulfilled; therefore write the words which I shall say.
  229.   35 And behold, if ye will not do this I come unto you speedily; for behold, God will not suffer that we should perish with hunger; therefore he will give unto us of your food, even if it must be by the sword. Now see that ye fulfil the word of God.
  230.   18 It is because you have hardened your hearts; yea, ye will not ahearken unto the voice of the bgood shepherd; yea, ye have cprovoked him to anger against you.
          •  •  •
      22 And for this cause awo shall come unto you except ye shall repent. For if ye will not repent, behold, this bgreat city, and also all those great cities which are round about, which are in the land of our possession, shall be taken away that ye shall have no place in them; for behold, the Lord will not grant unto you cstrength, as he has hitherto done, to withstand against your enemies.
  231.   5 And now, because thou hast done this with such unwearyingness, behold, I will bless thee forever; and I will make thee mighty in word and in deed, in faith and in works; yea, even that aall things shall be bdone unto thee according to thy cword, for thou shalt dnot ask that which is contrary to my will.
  232.   27 But behold, if a man shall come among you and shall say: Do this, and there is no iniquity; do that and ye shall not suffer; yea, he will say: aWalk after the pride of your own hearts; yea, walk after the pride of your eyes, and do whatsoever your heart desireth—and if a man shall come among you and say this, ye will receive him, and say that he is a bprophet.
      28 Yea, ye will lift him up, and ye will give unto him of your substance; ye will give unto him of your gold, and of your silver, and ye will clothe him with costly apparel; and because he speaketh aflattering words unto you, and he saith that all is well, then ye will not find fault with him.
  233.   8 And behold, I aswear unto you, if ye will do this, with an oath, ye shall not be destroyed; but if ye will not do this, I swear unto you with an oath, that on the morrow month I will command that my armies shall come down against you, and they shall not stay their hand and shall spare not, but shall slay you, and shall let fall the sword upon you even until ye shall become extinct.
  234.   21 Ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, and it is also written before you, that thou shalt not akill, and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment of God;
          •  •  •
      27 Behold, it is written by them of old time, that thou shalt not commit aadultery;
          •  •  •
      33 And again it is written, thou shalt not aforswear thyself, but shalt bperform unto the Lord thine coaths;
          •  •  •
      39 But I say unto you, that ye shall not aresist evil, but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right bcheek, cturn to him the other also;
  235.   5 And when thou aprayest thou shalt not do as the bhypocrites, for they love to pray, standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, they have their reward.
  236.   22 And behold, ye shall ameet together oft; and ye shall not forbid any man from coming unto you when ye shall meet together, but suffer them that they may come unto you and forbid them not;
          •  •  •
      28 And now behold, this is the commandment which I give unto you, that ye shall not suffer any one knowingly to apartake of my flesh and blood bunworthily, when ye shall minister it;
          •  •  •
      30 Nevertheless, ye shall not acast him out from among you, but ye shall bminister unto him and shall pray for him unto the Father, in my name; and if it so be that he repenteth and is baptized in my name, then shall ye receive him, and shall minister unto him of my flesh and blood.
          •  •  •
      32 Nevertheless, ye shall not cast him out of your asynagogues, or your places of worship, for unto such shall ye continue to minister; for ye know not but what they will return and repent, and come unto me with full purpose of heart, and I shall bheal them; and ye shall be the means of bringing salvation unto them.
  237.   42 For ye shall anot go out with bhaste nor go by flight; for the Lord will go before you, and the God of Israel shall be your rearward.
  238.   4 Fear not, for thou shalt not be ashamed; neither be thou confounded, for thou shalt not be put to ashame; for thou shalt forget the bshame of thy youth, and shalt not remember the creproach of thy youth, and shalt not remember the reproach of thy widowhood any more.
          •  •  •
      14 In arighteousness shalt thou be established; thou shalt be far from oppression for thou shalt not fear, and from terror for it shall not come near thee.
  239.   9 And again, ye shall not have pain while ye shall dwell in the flesh, neither sorrow save it be for the asins of the world; and all this will I do because of the thing which ye have desired of me, for ye have desired that ye might bbring the souls of men unto me, while the world shall stand.
  240.   15 And the brother of Jared repented of the evil which he had done, and did call upon the name of the Lord for his brethren who were with him. And the Lord said unto him: I will forgive thee and thy brethren of their sins; but thou shalt not sin any more, for ye shall remember that my aSpirit will not always bstrive with man; wherefore, if ye will sin until ye are fully ripe ye shall be cut off from the presence of the Lord. And these are my cthoughts upon the land which I shall give you for your inheritance; for it shall be a land dchoice above all other lands.
          •  •  •
      23 And the Lord said unto the brother of Jared: What will ye that I should do that ye may have light in your vessels? For behold, ye cannot have awindows, for they will be dashed in pieces; neither shall ye take fire with you, for ye shall not go by the light of fire.
  241.   21 And it came to pass that the Lord said unto the brother of Jared: Behold, thou shalt not suffer these things which ye have seen and heard to go forth unto the world, until the atime cometh that I shall glorify my name in the flesh; wherefore, ye shall btreasure up the things which ye have seen and heard, and show it to no man.
  242.   30 Behold, I say unto you, that you shall not translate again those words which have gone forth out of your hands;
          •  •  •
      36 Behold, I do not say that you shall not show it unto the righteous;
  243.   25 And again, I command thee that thou shalt not acovet thy bneighbor’s cwife; nor seek thy neighbor’s life.
      26 And again, I command thee that thou shalt not acovet thine own property, but impart it freely to the printing of the Book of Mormon, which contains the btruth and the word of God—

      31 And of atenets thou shalt not talk, but thou shalt declare repentance and bfaith on the Savior, and cremission of sins by dbaptism, and by efire, yea, even the fHoly Ghost.
  244.   9 And in temporal labors thou shalt not have strength, for this is not thy calling. Attend to thy acalling and thou shalt have wherewith to magnify thine office, and to expound all scriptures, and continue in laying on of the hands and bconfirming the churches.
          •  •  •
      14 And these things ye shall not do, except it be required of you by them who adesire it, that the scriptures might be bfulfilled; for ye shall do according to that which is written.
  245.   3 Wherefore, a commandment I give unto you, that you shall not purchase awine neither strong drink of your enemies;
  246.   5 But thou shalt not write by way of acommandment, but by wisdom;
      6 And thou shalt not command him who is at thy head, and at the head of the church;
          •  •  •
      10 Thou shalt not leave this place until after the conference; and my servant Joseph shall be appointed to preside over the conference by the voice of it, and what he saith to thee thou shalt tell.
  247.   2 And again, I say unto you that ye shall not go until ye have preached my gospel in those parts, and have astrengthened up the church whithersoever it is found, and more especially in bColesville; for, behold, they pray unto me in much faith.
  248.   30 I tell you these things because of your prayers; wherefore, atreasure up bwisdom in your bosoms, lest the wickedness of men reveal these things unto you by their wickedness, in a manner which shall speak in your ears with a voice louder than that which shall shake the earth; but if ye are prepared ye shall not fear.
  249.   14 And the Spirit shall be given unto you aby the prayer of faith; and if ye receive not the bSpirit ye shall not teach.
          •  •  •
      18 And now, behold, I speak unto the church. Thou shalt not akill; and he that bkills shall cnot have forgiveness in this world, nor in the world to come.
      19 And again, I say, thou shalt not kill; but he that akilleth shall bdie.
      20 Thou shalt not steal; and he that astealeth and will not repent shall be bcast out.
      21 Thou shalt not alie; he that lieth and will not repent shall be cast out.
          •  •  •
      24 Thou shalt not commit aadultery; and he that committeth badultery, and repenteth not, shall be ccast out.
          •  •  •
      27 Thou shalt not aspeak evil of thy neighbor, nor do him any harm.
          •  •  •
      40 And again, thou shalt not be aproud in thy bheart; let all thy cgarments be plain, and their dbeauty the beauty of the ework of thine own hands;
          •  •  •
      42 Thou shalt not be aidle; for he that is idle shall not eat the bbread nor wear the garments of the claborer.
          •  •  •
      54 Thou shalt not take thy brother’s agarment; thou shalt bpay for that which thou shalt receive of thy brother.
          •  •  •
      74 Behold, verily I say unto you, that whatever persons among you, having put away their acompanions for the cause of bfornication, or in other words, if they shall testify before you in all lowliness of heart that this is the case, ye shall not cast them out from among you;
          •  •  •
      77 And if they are not married, they shall repent of all their sins or ye shall not receive them.
  250.   23 And in this ye say truly, for so it is; but these things which I have told you shall not apass away until all shall be fulfilled.
          •  •  •
      57 For they that are wise and have received the atruth, and have taken the Holy Spirit for their bguide, and have not been deceived—verily I say unto you, they shall not be hewn down and cast into the cfire, but shall abide the day.
          •  •  •
      60 And now, behold, I say unto you, it shall not be given unto you to know any further concerning this chapter, until the aNew bTestament be translated, and in it all these things shall be made known;

  251.   5 And again I say unto you, ye shall not cast any out of your sacrament meetings who are earnestly aseeking the kingdom—I speak this concerning those who are not of the church.
      6 And again I say unto you, concerning your aconfirmation meetings, that if there be any that are not of the church, that are earnestly seeking after the kingdom, ye shall not cast them out.
  252.   27 Behold, I will go before you and be your arearward; and I will be in your bmidst, and you shall not be cconfounded.
  253.   6 Thou shalt alove thy bneighbor as thyself. Thou shalt not csteal; neither commit dadultery, nor ekill, nor do anything flike unto it.
  254.   13 Behold, they have been sent to preach my gospel among the congregations of the wicked; wherefore, I give unto them a commandment, thus: Thou shalt not aidle away thy time, neither shalt thou bury thy btalent that it may not be known.
  255.   6 Nevertheless, all flesh is in mine hand, and he that is faithful among you shall not aperish by the waters.
  256.   134 And he that is found aunworthy of this salutation shall not have place among you; for ye shall not suffer that mine house shall be bpolluted by him.
          •  •  •
      138 And ye shall not receive any among you into this school save he is clean from the ablood of this generation;
  257.   52 And let my servants Joseph Smith, Jun., and Frederick G. Williams make haste also, and it shall be given them even according to the prayer of faith; and inasmuch as you keep my sayings you shall not be confounded in this world, nor in the world to come.
  258.   8 And ye shall not suffer any aunclean thing to come in unto it; and my bglory shall be there, and my cpresence shall be there.
  259.   15 For if ye will not abide in my covenant ye are not worthy of me.
          •  •  •
      44 But if he trespass against thee the fourth time thou shalt not forgive him, but shalt bring these testimonies before the Lord; and they shall not be blotted out until he repent and areward thee four-fold in all things wherewith he has trespassed against thee.
  260.   5 Therefore, verily I say unto you, lift up your voices unto this people; aspeak the thoughts that I shall put into your hearts, and you shall not be bconfounded before men;
  261.   34 But verily I say unto you, a commandment I give unto you, that ye shall not go up unto the land of Zion until you have obtained a hundred of the strength of my house, to go up with you unto the land of Zion.
  262.   6 And I say unto you, if my people observe not this law, to keep it holy, and by this law sanctify the land of Zion unto me, that my statutes and my judgments may be kept thereon, that it may be most holy, behold, verily I say unto you, it shall not be a land of aZion unto you.
  263.   45 And if my people will hearken unto my voice, and unto the voice of my aservants whom I have appointed to lead my people, behold, verily I say unto you, they shall not be moved out of their place.
  264.   8 If it be the adevil as an angel of light, when you ask him to shake hands he will offer you his hand, and you will not bfeel anything; you may therefore detect him.
  265.   36 Abraham was acommanded to offer his son Isaac; nevertheless, it was written: Thou shalt not bkill. Abraham, however, did not refuse, and it was accounted unto him for crighteousness.
  266.   17 But of the tree of the aknowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it, nevertheless, thou mayest bchoose for thyself, for it is given unto thee; but, remember that I cforbid it, for in the dday thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely edie.
  267.   7 And he said unto the woman: Yea, hath God said—Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? (And he spake by the mouth of the serpent.)
          •  •  •
      9 But of the fruit of the tree which thou beholdest in the midst of the garden, God hath said—Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
      10 And the serpent said unto the awoman: Ye shall not surely die;
          •  •  •
      23 And unto Adam, I, the Lord God, said: Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the fruit of the tree of which I commanded thee, saying—Thou shalt not eat of it, acursed shall be the ground for thy sake; in bsorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life.
  268.   59 And Enoch beheld the Son of Man ascend up unto the Father; and he called unto the Lord, saying: Wilt thou not come again upon the earth? Forasmuch as thou art God, and I know thee, and thou hast sworn unto me, and commanded me that I should ask in the name of thine Only Begotten; thou hast made me, and given unto me a right to thy throne, and not of myself, but through thine own grace; wherefore, I ask thee if thou wilt not come again on the earth.
  269.   13 But of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it; for in the time that thou eatest thereof, thou shalt surely die. Now I, Abraham, saw that it was after the Lord’s atime, which was after the time of bKolob; for as yet the Gods had not appointed unto Adam his reckoning.
  270.   1 aFor I say unto you, that ye shall not see me henceforth and know that I am he of whom it is written by the prophets, until ye shall say: Blessed is he who bcometh in the name of the Lord, in the clouds of heaven, and all the holy angels with him. Then understood his disciples that he should come again on the earth, after that he was glorified and ccrowned on the right hand of God.
          •  •  •
      3 And Jesus said unto them: See ye not all these things, and do ye not understand them? Verily I say unto you, there shall not be left here, upon this temple, one astone upon another that shall not be thrown down.
