Slay the king


  1.   4 After he had slain aSihon the king of the Amorites, which dwelt in Heshbon, and bOg the king of Bashan, which dwelt at Astaroth in Edrei:

  2.   16 And the people that were encamped heard say, Zimri hath conspired, and hath also slain the king: wherefore all Israel made Omri, the captain of the host, king over Israel that day in the camp.

  3.   5 ¶ And it came to pass, as soon as the kingdom was confirmed in his hand, that he slew his servants which had aslain the king his father.

  4.   4 And now there was a man among them whose name was Gideon, and he being a strong man and an enemy to the king, therefore he drew his sword, and swore in his wrath that he would slay the king.

      6 And Gideon pursued after him and was about to get upon the tower to slay the king, and the king cast his eyes round about towards the land of aShemlon, and behold, the army of the Lamanites were within the borders of the land.
          •  •  •

      23 And the people told the men of aGideon that they had slain the king, and his bpriests had fled from them farther into the wilderness.
