Gird loins

  1.   11 ¶ And thus shall ye eat it; with your loins agirded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in bhaste: it is the Lord’s passover.
  2.   8 When they were at the great stone which is in Gibeon, Amasa went before them. And Joab’s garment that he had put on was girded unto him, and upon it a girdle with a sword fastened upon his loins in the sheath thereof; and as he went forth it fell out.
  3.   5 Moreover thou knowest also what aJoab the son of Zeruiah did to me, and what he did to the two captains of the hosts of Israel, unto bAbner the son of Ner, and unto cAmasa the son of Jether, whom he slew, and shed the blood of war in peace, and put the blood of war upon his girdle that was about his loins, and in his shoes that were on his feet.
  4.   46 And the ahand of the Lord was on Elijah; and he bgirded up his loins, and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.
  5.   32 So they girded sackcloth on their loins, and put ropes on their heads, and came to the king of Israel, and said, Thy servant Ben-hadad saith, I pray thee, let me live. And he said, Is he yet alive? he is my brother.
  6.   8 And they answered him, He was an ahairy man, and girt with a girdle of leather about his loins. And he said, It is Elijah the Tishbite.
  7.   29 Then he said to Gehazi, aGird up thy loins, and take my staff in thine hand, and go thy way: if thou meet any man, bsalute him not; and if any salute thee, answer him not again: and lay my cstaff upon the face of the child.
  8.   1 And Elisha the prophet called one of the children of the prophets, and said unto him, Gird up thy loins, and take this box of oil in thine hand, and go to Ramoth-gilead:
  9.   18 He looseth the bond of kings, and girdeth their loins with a girdle.
  10.   3 Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer thou me.
  11.   7 Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.
  12.   17 She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.
  13.   27 None shall be weary nor stumble among them; none shall slumber nor sleep; neither shall the girdle of their loins be loosed, nor the latchet of their shoes be broken:
  14.   5 And righteousness shall be the agirdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his breins.
  15.   11 Tremble, ye women that are at ease; be troubled, ye careless ones: strip you, and make you bare, and gird asackcloth upon your loins.
  16.   17 ¶ Thou therefore gird up thy loins, and arise, and speak unto them all that I command thee: be not dismayed at their faces, lest I confound thee before them.
  17.   1 Thus saith the Lord unto me, Go and get thee a linen girdle, and put it upon thy loins, and put it not in water.
      2 So I got a girdle according to the word of the Lord, and put it on my loins.

      4 Take the girdle that thou hast got, which is upon thy loins, and arise, go to Euphrates, and hide it there in a hole of the rock.
          •  •  •
      11 For as the girdle cleaveth to the loins of a man, so have I caused to cleave unto me the whole house of Israel and the whole house of Judah, saith the Lord; that they might be unto me for a people, and for a name, and for a praise, and for a glory: but they would not ahear.
  18.   15 Girded with girdles upon their loins, exceeding in dyed attire upon their heads, all of them princes to look to, after the manner of the Babylonians of Chaldea, the land of their nativity:
  19.   18 They shall have linen abonnets upon their heads, and shall have linen bbreeches upon their loins; they shall not gird themselves with any thing that causeth sweat.
  20.   5 Then I lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and behold a certain man aclothed in linen, whose loins were girded with fine gold of Uphaz:
  21.   4 And the same John had his araiment of bcamel’s hair, and a leathern girdle about his loins; and his meat was clocusts and wild honey.
  22.   6 And John was aclothed with bcamel’s hair, and with a girdle of a skin about his loins; and he did eat clocusts and wild honey;
  23.   35 Let your loins be girded about, and your alights burning;
  24.   13 Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be asober, and hope bto the end for the cgrace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
  25.   19 And after I had smitten off his head with his own sword, I took the garments of Laban and put them upon mine own body; yea, even every whit; and I did gird on his armor about my loins.
          •  •  •
      21 And he supposed me to be his master, Laban, for he beheld the garments and also the sword girded about my loins.
  26.   27 None shall slumber nor sleep; neither shall the girdle of their loins be loosed, nor the latchet of their shoes be broken;
  27.   5 And arighteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.
  28.   11 And arighteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.
  29.   20 And I bear record that the people of Nephi did seek diligently to arestore the Lamanites unto the true faith in God. But our blabors were vain; their chatred was fixed, and they were led by their evil nature that they became wild, and ferocious, and a dblood-thirsty people, full of eidolatry and ffilthiness; feeding upon beasts of prey; dwelling in gtents, and wandering about in the wilderness with a short skin girdle about their loins and their heads shaven; and their skill was in the hbow, and in the cimeter, and the ax. And many of them did eat nothing save it was raw meat; and they were continually seeking to destroy us.
  30.   8 And it came to pass that they came up upon the north of the land of Shilom, with their numerous hosts, men aarmed with bbows, and with arrows, and with swords, and with cimeters, and with stones, and with slings; and they had their heads shaved that they were naked; and they were girded with a leathern girdle about their loins.
  31.   5 Now the heads of the Lamanites were shorn; and they were anaked, save it were skin which was girded about their loins, and also their armor, which was girded about them, and their bows, and their arrows, and their stones, and their slings, and so forth.
  32.   20 Now the army of Zerahemnah was not prepared with any such thing; they had only their aswords and their cimeters, their bows and their arrows, their bstones and their slings; and they were cnaked, save it were a skin which was girded about their loins; yea, all were naked, save it were the Zoramites and the Amalekites;
  33.   13 And he fastened on his head-plate, and his abreastplate, and his shields, and girded on his armor about his loins; and he took the pole, which had on the end thereof his rent coat, (and he called it the btitle of liberty) and he cbowed himself to the earth, and he prayed mightily unto his God for the blessings of liberty to rest upon his brethren, so long as there should a band of dChristians remain to possess the land—
          •  •  •
      21 And it came to pass that when Moroni had proclaimed these words, behold, the people came running atogether with their armor girded about their loins, brending their garments in token, or as a ccovenant, that they would not forsake the Lord their God; or, in other words, if they should transgress the commandments of God, or fall into transgression, and be dashamed to take upon them the name of Christ, the Lord should rend them even as they had rent their garments.
  34.   7 And it came to pass that they did come up to battle; and it was in the sixth month; and behold, great and terrible was the day that they did come up to battle; and they were girded about after the manner of robbers; and they had a lamb-skin about their loins, and they were dyed in blood, and their heads were shorn, and they had head-plates upon them; and great and terrible was the appearance of the armies of Giddianhi, because of their armor, and because of their being dyed in blood.
  35.   15 Wherefore, alift up your hearts and brejoice, and cgird up your loins, and take upon you my whole darmor, that ye may be able to withstand the evil day, having done all, that ye may be able to estand.
  36.   14 And their arm shall be my arm, and I will be their ashield and their buckler; and I will gird up their loins, and they shall fight manfully for me; and their benemies shall be under their feet; and I will let cfall the dsword in their behalf, and by the efire of mine indignation will I preserve them.
  37.   8 I am Jesus Christ, the Son of God; wherefore, gird up your loins and I will asuddenly bcome to my ctemple. Even so. Amen.
  38.   9 Wherefore, gird up your loins and be prepared. Behold, the akingdom is yours, and the enemy shall not overcome.
  39.   19 Wherefore gird up your loins lest ye be found among the wicked.
  40.   38 Gird up your loins and be awatchful and be sober, looking forth for the coming of the Son of Man, for he cometh in an hour you think not.
  41.   6 Now I give no more unto you at this time. aGird up your loins and be sober. Even so. Amen.
  42.   22 And it shall be more atolerable for the bheathen in the day of judgment, than for that house; therefore, cgird up your loins and be faithful, and ye shall overcome all things, and be dlifted up at the last day. Even so. Amen.
  43.   5 Therefore, gird up your loins, that you may be the achildren of light, and that day shall not bovertake you as a thief.
  44.   7 Therefore, agird up thy loins for the work. Let thy feet be shod also, for thou art chosen, and thy path lieth among the mountains, and among many nations.
          •  •  •
      14 Now, I say unto you, and what I say unto you, I say unto all the Twelve: Arise and gird up your loins, take up your across, follow me, and bfeed my sheep.
  45.   62 And arighteousness will I send down out of heaven; and truth will I send forth out of the earth, to bear btestimony of mine Only Begotten; his cresurrection from the dead; yea, and also the resurrection of all men; and righteousness and truth will I cause to sweep the earth as with a flood, to dgather out mine elect from the four quarters of the earth, unto a place which I shall prepare, an Holy City, that my people may gird up their loins, and be looking forth for the time of my coming; for there shall be my tabernacle, and it shall be called eZion, a New fJerusalem.
