"Cut off"

  1.   11 And I will establish my covenant with you; neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a aflood to bdestroy the cearth.
  2.   14 And the uncircumcised man child whose flesh of his foreskin is not circumcised, that soul shall be acut off from his people; he hath broken my covenant.
  3.   25 Then Zipporah took a asharp stone, and cut off the foreskin of her son, and cast it at his feet, and said, Surely a bbloody husband art thou to me.
  4.   15 For now I will stretch out my hand, that I may smite thee and thy people with pestilence; and thou shalt be cut off from the earth.
  5.   15 Seven days shall ye eat aunleavened bread; even the first day ye shall put away leaven out of your houses: for whosoever eateth leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that soul shall be bcut off from Israel.
          •  •  •
19 Seven days shall there be no leaven found in your houses: for whosoever eateth that which is leavened, even that soul shall be cut off from the congregation of Israel, whether he be a astranger, or born in the land.
  6.   23 For mine Angel shall go before thee, and bring thee in unto the Amorites, and the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Canaanites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites: and I will cut them off.
  7.   33 Whosoever compoundeth any like it, or whosoever putteth any of it upon a stranger, shall even be cut off from his people.
          •  •  •
38 Whosoever shall make like unto that, to smell thereto, shall even be cut off from his people.
  8.   14 Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it is aholy unto you: every one that defileth it shall surely be put to bdeath: for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people.
  9.   20 But the soul that eateth of the flesh of the sacrifice of peace offerings, that pertain unto the Lord, having his uncleanness upon him, even that soul shall be acut off from his people.
21 Moreover the soul that shall touch any unclean thing, as the uncleanness of man, or any unclean beast, or any abominable unclean thing, and eat of the flesh of the sacrifice of peace offerings, which pertain unto the Lord, even that soul shall be acut off from his people.
          •  •  •
25 For whosoever eateth the afat of the beast, of which men offer an offering made by fire unto the Lord, even the soul that eateth it shall be cut off from his people.
          •  •  •
27 Whatsoever soul it be that eateth any manner of blood, even that soul shall be cut off from his people.
  10.   4 And bringeth it not unto the door of the atabernacle of the congregation, to offer an offering unto the Lord before the tabernacle of the Lord; blood shall be imputed unto that man; he hath shed blood; and that man shall be cut off from among his people:
          •  •  •
9 And bringeth it not unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, to offer it unto the Lord; even that man shall be cut off from among his people.
10 ¶ And whatsoever man there be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among you, that eateth any manner of blood; I will even set my aface against that soul that eateth bblood, and will cut him off from among his people.
          •  •  •
14 For it is the life of all flesh; the blood of it is for the life thereof: therefore I said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall eat the ablood of no manner of flesh: for the life of all flesh is the bblood thereof: whosoever eateth it shall be cut off.
  11.   29 For whosoever shall commit any of these abominations, even the souls that commit them shall be acut off from among their people.
  12.   8 Therefore every one that eateth it shall abear his iniquity, because he hath profaned the hallowed thing of the Lord: and that soul shall be cut off from among his people.
  13.   3 And I will set my face against that man, and will cut him off from among his people; because he hath given of his seed unto Molech, to adefile my sanctuary, and to bprofane my holy name.
          •  •  •
5 Then I will set my aface against that man, and against his family, and will cut him off, and all that go a whoring after him, to commit bwhoredom with Molech, from among their people.
6 ¶ And the soul that turneth aafter such as have bfamiliar cspirits, and after dwizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will ecut him off from among his people.
          •  •  •
17 And if a man shall take his sister, his father’s daughter, or his mother’s daughter, and see her anakedness, and she see his nakedness; it is a bwicked thing; and they shall be ccut off in the sight of their people: he hath uncovered his sister’s nakedness; he shall bear his iniquity.
18 And if a man shall lie with a woman having her sickness, and shall uncover her nakedness; he hath discovered her fountain, and she hath uncovered the fountain of her blood: and both of them shall be cut off from among their people.
  14.   3 Say unto them, Whosoever he be of all your seed among your generations, that goeth unto the holy things, which the children of Israel hallow unto the Lord, ahaving his buncleanness upon him, that soul shall be ccut off from my presence: I am the Lord.
  15.   29 For whatsoever soul it be that shall not be afflicted in that same day, he shall be cut off from among his people.
  16.   13 But the man that is clean, and is not in a journey, and forbeareth to keep the passover, even the same soul shall be cut off from among his people: because he brought not the offering of the Lord in his appointed season, that man shall bear his sin.
  17.   30 ¶ But the soul that doeth ought apresumptuously, whether he be born in the land, or a stranger, the same reproacheth the Lord; and that soul shall be bcut off from among his people.
31 Because he hath adespised the word of the Lord, and hath broken his commandment, that soul shall utterly be cut off; his iniquity shall be upon him.
  18.   13 Whosoever toucheth the dead body of any man that is dead, and purifieth not himself, defileth the tabernacle of the Lord; and that soul shall be acut off from Israel: because the water of separation was not sprinkled upon him, he shall be unclean; his uncleanness is yet upon him.
          •  •  •
20 But the man that shall be unclean, and shall not purify himself, that soul shall be cut off from among the congregation, because he hath defiled the sanctuary of the Lord: the water of separation hath not been sprinkled upon him; he is unclean.
  19.   29 ¶ When the Lord thy God shall acut off the nations from before thee, whither thou goest to possess them, and thou bsucceedest them, and dwellest in their land;
  20.   1 When the Lord thy God hath cut off the nations, whose land the Lord thy God giveth thee, and athou succeedest them, and dwellest in their cities, and in their houses;
  21.   1 He that is awounded in the stones, or hath his privy member cut off, shall not enter into the congregation of the Lord.
  22.   12 Then thou shalt cut off her hand, thine eye shall not pity her.
  23.   13 And it shall come to pass, as soon as the soles of the feet of the priests that bear the ark of the Lord, the Lord of all the earth, shall rest in the waters of Jordan, that the waters of Jordan shall be cut off from the waters that come down from above; and they shall stand upon an aheap.
          •  •  •
16 That the awaters which came down from babove cstood and rose up upon an dheap very far from the city Adam, that is beside Zaretan: and those that came down toward the sea of the plain, even ethe salt sea, failed, and were cut off: and the people passed over right against Jericho.
  24.   7 Then ye shall answer them, That the waters of Jordan were cut off before the aark of the covenant of the Lord; when it passed over Jordan, the waters of Jordan were cut off: and these stones shall be for a bmemorial unto the children of Israel for ever.
  25.   9 For the Canaanites and all the inhabitants of the land shall hear of it, and shall aenviron us round, and cut off our name from the earth: and what wilt thou do unto thy great bname?
  26.   21 ¶ And at that time came Joshua, and cut off the Anakims from the mountains, from Hebron, from Debir, from Anab, and from all the mountains of Judah, and from all the mountains of Israel: Joshua destroyed them utterly with their cities.
  27.   4 Behold, I have divided unto you by lot these nations that remain, to be an inheritance for your tribes, from Jordan, with all the nations that I have cut off, even unto the agreat sea westward.
  28.   6 But Adoni-bezek fled; and they pursued after him, and caught him, and cut off his thumbs and his great toes.
7 And Adoni-bezek said, aThreescore and ten kings, having their thumbs and their great toes cut off, gathered their meat under my table: as I have done, so God hath requited me. And they brought him to Jerusalem, and there he died.
  29.   6 And the children of Israel repented them for Benjamin their brother, and said, There is one tribe cut off from Israel this day.
  30.   10 Moreover Ruth the Moabitess, the wife of Mahlon, have I purchased to be my wife, to raise up the name of the dead upon his inheritance, that the aname of the dead be not cut off from among his brethren, and from the gate of his place: ye are witnesses this day.
  31.   31 Behold, the adays come, that I will bcut off thine arm, and the arm of thy father’s house, that there shall not be an old man in thine house.
          •  •  •
33 And the man of thine, whom I shall not cut off from mine altar, shall be to consume thine eyes, and to grieve thine heart: and all the increase of thine house shall die in the flower of their age.
  32.   4 And when they arose early on the morrow morning, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the ground before the ark of the Lord; and the head of Dagon and both the palms of his hands were cut off upon the threshold; only the stump of Dagon was left to him.
  33.   51 Therefore David ran, and stood upon the Philistine, and took his sword, and drew it out of the sheath thereof, and slew him, and cut off his head therewith. And when the Philistines saw their champion was dead, they fled.
  34.   15 But also thou shalt not cut off thy kindness from my house for ever: no, not when the Lord hath cut off the enemies of David every one from the face of the earth.
  35.   4 And the men of David said unto him, Behold the day of which the Lord said unto thee, Behold, I will deliver thine enemy into thine hand, that thou mayest do to him as it shall seem good unto thee. Then David arose, and cut off the askirt of Saul’s robe bprivily.
5 And it came to pass afterward, that David’s heart smote him, because he had cut off Saul’s skirt.
          •  •  •
11 Moreover, my father, see, yea, see the skirt of thy robe in my hand: for in that I cut off the skirt of thy robe, and killed thee not, know thou and see that there is neither evil nor transgression in mine hand, and I have not sinned against thee; yet thou huntest my soul to take it.
          •  •  •
21 Swear now therefore unto me by the Lord, that thou wilt not cut off my seed after me, and that thou wilt not destroy my name out of my father’s house.
  36.   9 And the woman said unto him, Behold, thou knowest what Saul hath done, how he hath cut off those that have familiar spirits, and the wizards, out of the land: wherefore then layest thou a snare for my life, to cause me to die?
  37.   9 And they cut off his head, and stripped off his armour, and sent into the land of the Philistines round about, to publish it in the house of their idols, and among the people.
  38.   12 And David commanded his young men, and they slew them, and cut off their hands and their feet, and hanged them up over the pool in Hebron. But they took the head of Ish-bosheth, and buried it in the sepulchre of Abner in Hebron.
  39.   9 And I was with thee whithersoever thou wentest, and have cut off all thine enemies out of thy sight, and have made thee a great name, like unto the name of the great men that are in the earth.
  40.   4 Wherefore Hanun took David’s servants, and shaved off the one half of their beards, and cut off their garments in the middle, even to their buttocks, and sent them away.
  41.   22 Then the woman went unto all the people in her wisdom. And they cut off the head of Sheba the son of Bichri, and cast it out to Joab. And he blew a trumpet, and they retired from the city, every man to his tent. And Joab returned to Jerusalem unto the king.
  42.   7 Then will I acut off Israel out of the bland which I have given them; and this house, which I have hallowed for my name, will I cast out of my sight; and Israel shall be a proverb and a cbyword among all people:
  43.   16 (For six months did Joab remain there with all Israel, until he had cut off every male in Edom:)
  44.   34 And this thing became asin unto the house of Jeroboam, even to cut it off, and to destroy it from off the face of the earth.
  45.   10 Therefore, behold, I will bring evil upon the house of aJeroboam, and will cut off from Jeroboam him that pisseth against the wall, and him that is shut up and left in Israel, and will btake away the remnant of the house of cJeroboam, as a man taketh away dung, till it be all gone.
          •  •  •
14 Moreover the Lord shall raise him up a king over Israel, who shall cut off the house of Jeroboam that day: but what? even now.
  46.   4 For it was so, when aJezebel bcut off the prophets of the Lord, that Obadiah took an hundred prophets, and hid them by fifty in a cave, and fed them with bread and water.)
  47.   21 Behold, I will bring evil upon thee, and will take away thy aposterity, and will cut off from Ahab him that pisseth against the wall, and him that is shut up and left in Israel,
  48.   8 For the whole house of aAhab shall perish: and I will cut off from Ahab him that pisseth against the wall, and him that is shut up and left in Israel:
  49.   17 ¶ And king Ahaz cut off the borders of the bases, and removed the laver from off them; and took down the asea from off the brasen oxen that were under it, and put it upon a pavement of stones.
  50.   16 At that time did Hezekiah cut off the gold from the doors of the temple of the Lord, and from the pillars which Hezekiah king of Judah had overlaid, and gave it to the king of Assyria.
  1.   8 And I have been with thee whithersoever thou hast walked, and have cut off all thine enemies from before thee, and have made thee a name like the name of the great men that are in the earth.
  2.   4 Wherefore Hanun took David’s servants, and shaved them, and cut off their garments in the midst hard by their buttocks, and sent them away.
  3.   7 And the destruction of Ahaziah was of God by coming to Joram: for when he was come, he went out with Jehoram against Jehu the son of Nimshi, whom the Lord had aanointed to cut off the house of Ahab.
  4.   21 And Uzziah the king was a aleper unto the day of his death, and dwelt in a bseveral house, being a leper; for he was cut off from the house of the Lord: and Jotham his son was over the king’s house, judging the people of the land.
  5.   21 ¶ And the Lord sent an aangel, which cut off all the mighty men of valour, and the leaders and captains in the camp of the king of Assyria. So he returned with shame of face to his own land. And when he was come into the house of his god, they that came forth of his own bowels slew him there with the sword.
  6.   7 Remember, I pray thee, who ever perished, being ainnocent? or where were the righteous cut off?
  7.   9 Even that it would please God to destroy me; that he would let loose his hand, and cut me off!
  8.   14 Whose hope shall be cut off, and whose trust shall be a spider’s web.
  9.   10 If he cut off, and shut up, or gather together, then who can hinder him?
  10.   16 His aroots shall be dried up beneath, and above shall his branch be cut off.
  11.   21 For what pleasure hath he in his house after him, when the number of his months is cut off in the midst?
  12.   17 Because I was not cut off before the darkness, neither hath he covered the darkness from my face.
  13.   24 They are exalted for a alittle while, but are gone and brought blow; they are taken out of the way as all other, and cut off as the ctops of the ears of corn.
  14.   20 Desire not the night, when people are cut off in their place.
  15.   3 The Lord shall cut off all aflattering lips, and the tongue that speaketh proud things:
  16.   22 For I said in my ahaste, I am cut off from before thine eyes: nevertheless thou heardest the voice of my supplications when I cried unto thee.
  17.   16 The face of the Lord is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.
  18.   9 For evildoers shall be acut off: but those that wait upon the Lord, they shall inherit the bearth.
          •  •  •
22 For such as be blessed of him shall inherit the aearth; and they that be bcursed of him shall be cut off.
          •  •  •
28 For the Lord loveth ajudgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the bseed of the wicked shall be cut off.
          •  •  •
34 aWait on the Lord, and keep his way, and he shall exalt thee to inherit the land: when the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it.
          •  •  •
38 But the transgressors shall be destroyed together: the aend of the wicked shall be cut off.
  19.   5 He shall reward evil unto mine enemies: cut them off in thy truth.
  20.   10 All the ahorns of the wicked also will I cut off; but the horns of the righteous shall be exalted.
  21.   12 He shall cut off the spirit of princes: he is terrible to the kings of the earth.
  22.   4 They have said, Come, and let us acut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.
  23.   5 Free among the dead, like the slain that lie in the grave, whom thou arememberest no more: and they are cut off from thy hand.
          •  •  •
16 Thy fierce wrath goeth over me; thy terrors have cut me off.
  24.   10 The adays of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.
  25.   23 And he shall bring upon them their own iniquity, and shall cut them off in their own wickedness; yea, the Lord our God shall cut them off.
  26.   5 Whoso privily aslandereth his neighbour, him will I cut off: him that hath an high look and a proud heart will not I bsuffer.
          •  •  •
8 I will early destroy all the wicked of the land; that I may cut off all wicked doers from the city of the Lord.
  27.   13 Let his aposterity be cut off; and in the generation following let their name be bblotted out.
          •  •  •
15 Let them be before the Lord continually, that he may cut off the memory of them from the earth.
  28.   12 And of thy mercy cut off mine enemies, and destroy all them that afflict my soul: for I am thy servant.
  29.   22 But the wicked shall be acut off from the earth, and the transgressors shall be rooted out of it.
  30.   18 For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off.
  31.   14 So shall the knowledge of wisdom be unto thy soul: when thou hast found it, then there shall be a reward, and thy expectation shall not be cut off.
  32.   6 He that sendeth a message by the hand of a fool cutteth off the feet, and drinketh adamage.
  33.   14 Therefore the Lord will cut off from Israel head and tail, branch and rush, in one day.
  34.   7 Howbeit he meaneth not so, neither adoth his heart think so; but it is in his heart to destroy and cut off nations not a few.
  35.   13 The envy also of Ephraim shall depart, and the adversaries of Judah shall be cut off: Ephraim shall not aenvy bJudah, and Judah shall not vex Ephraim.
  36.   22 For I will rise up against them, saith the Lord of hosts, and acut off from Babylon the name, and remnant, and son, and nephew, saith the Lord.
  37.   2 He is gone up to Bajith, and to Dibon, the high places, to weep: Moab shall howl over Nebo, and over Medeba: on all their heads shall be abaldness, and every beard bcut off.
  38.   5 For afore the harvest, when the bud is perfect, and the sour grape is ripening in the flower, he shall both cut off the sprigs with pruning hooks, and take away and cut down the branches.

  40.   20 For the terrible one is brought to nought, and the scorner is consumed, and all that awatch for iniquity are bcut off:
  41.   10 I said in the cutting off of my days, I shall go to the gates of the grave: I am deprived of the residue of my years.
          •  •  •
12 Mine age is departed, and is removed from me as a shepherd’s tent: I have acut off like a weaver my life: he will cut me off with bpining sickness: from day even to night wilt thou make an end of me.
  42.   19 Thy aseed also had been as the sand, and the offspring of thy bowels like the gravel thereof; his name should not have been cut off nor destroyed from before me.
  43.   8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his ageneration? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the btransgression of my people was he stricken.
  44.   13 Instead of the thorn shall come up the afir tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree: and it shall be to the Lord for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.
  45.   5 Even unto them will I give in mine ahouse and within my walls a place and a name better than of bsons and of daughters: I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off.
  46.   3 aHe that killeth an ox is as if he slew a man; he that sacrificeth a lamb, as if he cut off a dog’s neck; he that offereth an oblation, as if he offered swine’s blood; he that burneth incense, as if he blessed an idol. Yea, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delighteth in their abominations.
  47.   28 But thou shalt say unto them, This is a nation that aobeyeth not the voice of the Lord their God, nor receiveth correction: truth is perished, and is cut off from their mouth.
29 ¶ Cut off thine hair, O Jerusalem, and cast it away, and take up a alamentation on high places; for the Lord hath rejected and forsaken the generation of his wrath.
  48.   21 For death is come up into our windows, and is entered into our palaces, to cut off the children from without, and the young men from the streets.
  49.   19 But I was like a alamb or an ox that is brought to the bslaughter; and I knew not that they had cdevised ddevices against me, saying, Let us destroy the tree with the fruit thereof, and let us ecut him off from the land of the living, that his name may be no more remembered.
  50.   7 Therefore now thus saith the Lord, the God of hosts, the God of Israel; Wherefore commit ye this great aevil against your souls, to cut off from you man and woman, child and suckling, out of Judah, to leave you none to remain;
8 In that ye aprovoke me unto wrath with the bworks of your hands, burning incense unto other gods in the land of Egypt, whither ye be gone to dwell, that ye might ccut yourselves off, and that ye might be a curse and a reproach among all the nations of the earth?
          •  •  •
11 ¶ Therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will set my aface against you for evil, and to cut off all Judah.

5 Baldness is come upon Gaza; Ashkelon is cut off with the remnant of their valley: how long wilt thou cut thyself?
  2.   2 There shall be no more praise of Moab: in Heshbon they have devised evil against it; come, and let us cut it off from being a nation. Also thou shalt be cut down, O Madmen; the sword shall pursue thee.
          •  •  •
25 The ahorn of Moab is cut off, and his arm is broken, saith the Lord.
  3.   26 Therefore her young men shall fall in her streets, and all the men of war shall be cut off in that day, saith the Lord of hosts.
  4.   16 Cut off the sower from Babylon, and him that handleth the sickle in the time of harvest: for fear of the oppressing sword they shall turn every one to his apeople, and they shall flee every one to his own bland.
          •  •  •
30 Therefore shall her young men fall in the streets, and all her men of war shall be cut off in that day, saith the Lord.
  5.   6 Flee aout of the midst of bBabylon, and deliver every man his soul: be not cut off in her iniquity; for this is the time of the Lord’s vengeance; he will render unto her a recompence.
          •  •  •
62 Then shalt thou say, O Lord, thou hast spoken against this place, to acut it off, that none shall remain in it, neither man nor beast, but that it shall be bdesolate for ever.
  6.   3 He hath cut off in his fierce anger all the horn of Israel: he hath adrawn back his right hand from before the enemy, and he bburned against Jacob like a flaming fire, which devoureth round about.
  7.   53 They have cut off my life in the dungeon, and cast a stone upon me.
54 Waters flowed over mine head; then I said, I am cut off.
  8.   8 And I will set my aface against that man, and will make him a bsign and a proverb, and I will cut him off from the midst of my people; and ye shall know that I am the Lord.
          •  •  •
13 Son of man, when the land sinneth against me by trespassing grievously, then will I stretch out mine hand upon it, and will abreak the staff of the bread thereof, and will send famine upon it, and will cut off man and beast from it:
          •  •  •
17 ¶ Or if I bring a asword upon that land, and say, Sword, go through the land; so that I cut off man and beast from it:
          •  •  •
19 ¶ Or if I send a pestilence into that land, and pour out my fury upon it in blood, to cut off from it man and beast:
          •  •  •
21 For thus saith the Lord God; How much more when I send my four sore judgments upon Jerusalem, the asword, and the famine, and the noisome beast, and the pestilence, to cut off from it man and beast?
  9.   9 Say thou, Thus saith the Lord God; Shall it prosper? shall he not pull up the roots thereof, and cut off the fruit thereof, that it wither? it shall wither in all the leaves of her spring, even without great power or many people to pluck it up by the roots thereof.
          •  •  •
17 Neither shall aPharaoh with his mighty barmy and great company cmake for him in the war, by casting up dmounts, and building forts, to cut off many persons:
  10.   3 And say to the land of Israel, Thus saith the Lord; Behold, I am against thee, and will draw forth my asword out of his sheath, and will cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked.
4 Seeing then that I will cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked, therefore shall my sword go forth out of his sheath against all flesh from the south to the north:

  5.   4 For the Lord God hath said that: aInasmuch as ye shall keep my commandments ye shall prosper in the land; and inasmuch as ye will not keep my commandments ye shall be cut off from my presence.
  6.   20 Wherefore, the word of the Lord was fulfilled which he spake unto me, saying that: Inasmuch as they will anot hearken unto thy words they shall be bcut off from the presence of the Lord. And behold, they were ccut off from his presence.
  7.   6 For as adeath hath passed upon all men, to fulfil the merciful bplan of the great Creator, there must needs be a power of cresurrection, and the resurrection must needs come unto man by reason of the dfall; and the fall came by reason of etransgression; and because man became fallen they were fcut off from the gpresence of the Lord.

          •  •  •
13 Behold, do ye not remember the words which he spake unto Lehi, saying that: aInasmuch as ye shall keep my commandments, ye shall prosper in the land? And again it is said that: Inasmuch as ye will not keep my commandments ye shall be cut off from the presence of the Lord.
14 Now I would that ye should remember, that inasmuch as the Lamanites have not kept the commandments of God, they have been acut off from the presence of the Lord. Now we see that the word of the Lord has been verified in this thing, and the Lamanites have been cut off from his presence, from the beginning of their transgressions in the land.
  15.   30 But behold, my son, this is not all; for ye ought to know as I do know, that ainasmuch as ye shall keep the commandments of God ye shall bprosper in the land; and ye ought to know also, that inasmuch as ye will not keep the commandments of God ye shall be cut off from his presence. Now this is according to his word.
  16.   13 O remember, remember, my son Helaman, how astrict are the commandments of God. And he said: bIf ye will keep my commandments ye shall cprosper in the land—but if ye keep not his commandments ye shall be cut off from his presence.
  17.   1 My ason, give ear to my words, for I say unto you, even as I said unto Helaman, that binasmuch as ye shall keep the commandments of God ye shall prosper in the land; and cinasmuch as ye will not keep the commandments of God ye shall be dcut off from his epresence.
  18.   6 But behold, it was appointed unto man to adie—therefore, as they were cut off from the tree of life they should be cut off from the face of the earth—and man became blost forever, yea, they became cfallen man.

9 Therefore, as the soul could never die, and the afall had brought upon all mankind a spiritual bdeath as well as a temporal, that is, they were cut off from the presence of the Lord, it was expedient that mankind should be reclaimed from this spiritual death.

11 And now remember, my son, if it were not for the plan of redemption, (laying it aside) as soon as they were dead their souls were amiserable, being cut off from the presence of the Lord.
          •  •  •
14 And thus we see that all mankind were afallen, and they were in the grasp of bjustice; yea, the justice of God, which consigned them forever to be cut off from his presence.
  19.   30 Now Moroni thought it was not expedient that the Lamanites should have any more astrength; therefore he thought to cut off the people of Amalickiah, or to take them and bring them back, and put Amalickiah to death; yea, for he knew that he would stir up the Lamanites to anger against them, and cause them to come to battle against them; and this he knew that Amalickiah would do that he might obtain his purposes.
31 Therefore Moroni thought it was expedient that he should take his armies, who had gathered themselves together, and armed themselves, and entered into a covenant to keep the peace—and it came to pass that he took his army and marched out with his tents into the wilderness, to cut off the course of Amalickiah in the wilderness.
  20.   11 And thus he cut off all the strongholds of the Lamanites in the east wilderness, yea, and also on the west, fortifying the line between the Nephites and the Lamanites, between the land of Zarahemla and the land of Nephi, from the west sea, running by the head of the ariver Sidon—the Nephites possessing all the land bnorthward, yea, even all the land which was northward of the land Bountiful, according to their pleasure.
12 Thus Moroni, with his armies, which did increase daily because of the assurance of protection which his works did bring forth unto them, did seek to cut off the strength and the power of the Lamanites from off the lands of their possessions, that they should have no power upon the lands of their possession.
          •  •  •
20 Blessed art thou and thy children; and they shall be blessed, inasmuch as they shall keep my acommandments they shall prosper in the land. But remember, inasmuch as they will not keep my commandments they shall be bcut off from the presence of the Lord.
  21.   11 And notwithstanding the Lamanites being cut off from their support after this manner, they were still determined to maintain the city; therefore it became expedient that we should take those provisions and send them to aJudea, and our prisoners to the land of Zarahemla.
  22.   15 And it came to pass that when they saw that we were not strong, according to our numbers, and fearing that we should cut them off from their support except they should come out to battle against us and kill us, and also supposing that they could easily destroy us with their numerous hosts, therefore they began to make preparations to come out against us to battle.
          •  •  •

21 And it came to pass that when they had cut them off, they ran to the city and fell upon the guards who were left to guard the city, insomuch that they did destroy them and did take possession of the city.
  23.   21 And if the Lord shall say—Because of thine iniquities thou shalt be acut off from my presence—he will cause that it shall be so.
  24.   16 Yea, behold, this death bringeth to pass the aresurrection, and bredeemeth all mankind from the first death—that spiritual death; for all mankind, by the cfall of Adam being dcut off from the presence of the Lord, are considered as edead, both as to things temporal and to things spiritual.
          •  •  •
18 Yea, and it bringeth to pass the condition of repentance, that whosoever repenteth the same is not ahewn down and cast into the fire; but whosoever repenteth not is hewn down and cast into the fire; and there cometh upon them again a bspiritual death, yea, a second death, for they are cut off again as to things pertaining to righteousness.
  25.   16 And in the

24 And now, Gidgiddoni being aware of their design, and knowing of their weakness because of the want of food, and the great slaughter which had been made among them, therefore he did send out his armies in the night-time, and did cut off the way of their retreat, and did place his armies in the way of their retreat.
          •  •  •
26 And the robbers who were on the south were also cut off in their places of retreat. And all these things were done by command of Gidgiddoni.

  27.   11 Therefore it shall come to pass that whosoever will not believe in my words, who am Jesus Christ, which the Father shall cause ahim to bring forth unto the bGentiles, and shall give unto him power that he shall bring them forth unto the Gentiles, (it shall be done even as Moses said) they shall be ccut off from among my people who are of the covenant.

      16 And I will cut off awitchcrafts out of thy land, and thou shalt have no more soothsayers;
      17 Thy agraven images I will also cut off, and thy standing images out of the midst of thee, and thou shalt no more worship the works of thy hands;
          •  •  •

  30.   15 And the brother of Jared repented of the evil which he had done, and did call upon the name of the Lord for his brethren who were with him. And these are my cthoughts upon the land which I shall give you for your inheritance; for it shall be a land dchoice above all other lands.

  33.   14 And the aarm of the Lord shall be revealed; and the bday cometh that they who will not chear the voice of the Lord, neither the voice of his dservants, neither give eheed to the words of the prophets and fapostles, shall be gcut off from among the people;
  34.   44 And then they shall look for me, and, behold, I will come; and they shall see me in the aclouds of heaven, clothed with power and great bglory; with all the holy angels; and he that cwatches not for me shall be cut off.

  47.   40 In addition to these, he quoted the eleventh chapter of aIsaiah, saying that it was about to be fulfilled.
