Lay the foundation

  1.   26 ¶ And Joshua aadjured them at that time, saying, Cursed be the man before the Lord, that riseth up and buildeth this city bJericho: he shall lay the foundation thereof in his firstborn, and in his youngest son shall he set up the gates of it.
  2.   17 And the king commanded, and they brought great stones, acostly stones, and hewed bstones, to lay the foundation of the house.
  3.   37 ¶ In the afourth year was the foundation of the house of the Lord laid, in the month Zif:
  4.   34 ¶ In his days did Hiel the Beth-elite build aJericho: he laid the foundation thereof in Abiram his firstborn, and set up the gates thereof in his youngest son Segub, according to the word of the Lord, which he spake by Joshua the son of bNun.
  5.   7 In the third month they began to lay the foundation of the heaps, and finished them in the seventh month.
  6.   6 From the first day of the seventh month began they to offer burnt offerings unto the Lord. But the foundation of the temple of the Lord was not yet laid.

      10 And when the builders laid the foundation of the temple of the Lord, they set the priests in their apparel with trumpets, and the Levites the sons of Asaph with cymbals, to praise the Lord, after the ordinance of David king of Israel.
      11 And they sang together by course in praising and giving athanks unto the Lord; because he is bgood, for his mercy endureth for ever toward Israel. And all the people shouted with a great shout, when they cpraised the Lord, because the foundation of the house of the Lord was laid.
      12 But many of the priests and Levites and chief of the fathers, who were aancient men, that had seen the first house, when the foundation of this house was laid before their eyes, bwept with a loud voice; and many shouted aloud for joy:
  7.   16 Then came the same Sheshbazzar, and laid the foundation of the house of God which is in Jerusalem: and since that time even until now hath it been in building, and yet it is not finished.
  8.   3 In the first year of Cyrus the king the same Cyrus the king made a decree concerning the house of God at Jerusalem, Let the ahouse be builded, the place where they offered sacrifices, and let the foundations thereof be strongly laid; the height thereof threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof threescore cubits;
  9.   4 Where wast thou when I alaid the bfoundations of the cearth? declare, if thou hast understanding.

      6 Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the acorner stone thereof;
  10.   25 Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the aearth: and the heavens are the work of thy hands.
  11.   5 Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever.
  12.   16 ¶ Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I lay in Zion for a afoundation a bstone, a tried stone, a precious ccorner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.
  13.   28 That saith of aCyrus, He is my bshepherd, and shall perform all my cpleasure: even saying to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be dbuilt; and to the etemple, Thy foundation shall be laid.
  14.   13 Mine hand also hath laid the foundation of the aearth, and my right hand hath spanned the heavens: when I call unto them, they stand up together.
  15.   13 And aforgettest the Lord thy maker, that hath stretched forth the heavens, and laid the foundations of the bearth; and hast feared continually every day because of the fury of the oppressor, as if he were ready to destroy? and where is the fury of the oppressor?

      16 And I have put my awords in thy mouth, and I have covered thee in the shadow of mine hand, that I may plant the heavens, and lay the foundations of the earth, and say unto Zion, Thou art my people.
  16.   11 ¶ O thou afflicted, tossed with tempest, and not comforted, behold, I will lay thy astones with fair colours, and lay thy foundations with sapphires.
  17.   18 aConsider now from this day and upward, from the four and twentieth day of the ninth month, even from the day that the foundation of the Lord’s temple was laid, consider it.
  18.   9 The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house; his hands shall also finish it; and thou shalt know that the Lord of hosts hath sent me unto you.
  19.   9 ¶ Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Let your hands be strong, ye that hear in these days these words by the mouth of the aprophets, which were in the day that the foundation of the house of the Lord of hosts was laid, that the temple might be built.
  20.   1 The burden of the word of the Lord for Israel, saith the Lord, which stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundation of the aearth, and formeth the bspirit of man within him.
  21.   48 He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.
  22.   29 Lest ahaply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him,
  23.   10 According to the agrace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.
      11 For other afoundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
  24.   19 aLaying up in bstore for themselves a good foundation cagainst the time to come, that they may lay hold on deternal life.
  25.   10 And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the afoundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine bhands:
  26.   1 Therefore aleaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto bperfection; not laying again the foundation of crepentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,
  27.   13 Mine hand hath also alaid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand hath spanned the heavens. I bcall unto them and they stand up together.
  28.   13 And aforgettest the Lord thy maker, that hath bstretched forth the heavens, and laid the foundations of the earth, and hast feared continually every day, because of the fury of the coppressor, as if he were ready to destroy? And where is the fury of the oppressor?

      16 And I have aput my words in thy mouth, and have covered thee in the shadow of mine hand, that I may plant the heavens and lay the foundations of the earth, and say unto Zion: Behold, thou art my bpeople.
  29.   17 Now they knew not that Amulek could aknow of their designs. But it came to pass as they began to question him, he bperceived their thoughts, and he said unto them: O ye wicked and perverse cgeneration, ye lawyers and hypocrites, for ye are laying the foundations of the devil; for ye are laying dtraps and snares to catch the holy ones of God.

      27 And now behold, I say unto you, that the foundation of the adestruction of this people is beginning to be laid by the bunrighteousness of your clawyers and your judges.
  30.   25 Now, if it had not been for the plan of redemption, which was laid from the foundation of the world, there could have been no aresurrection of the dead; but there was a plan of bredemption laid, which shall bring to pass the resurrection of the dead, of which has been spoken.
  31.   13 And Aaron did expound unto him the scriptures from the acreation of Adam, laying the fall of man before him, and their carnal state and also the bplan of credemption, which was prepared dfrom the foundation of the world, through Christ, for all whosoever would believe on his name.
  32.   32 Now behold, the people who were in the land Bountiful, or rather Moroni, feared that they would hearken to the words of Morianton and unite with his people, and thus he would obtain possession of those parts of the land, which would lay a foundation for serious consequences among the people of Nephi, yea, which aconsequences would lead to the overthrow of their bliberty.

  34.   14 Come unto me, O ye house of Israel, and it shall be made amanifest unto you how great things the Father hath laid up for you, from the foundation of the world; and it hath not come unto you, because of unbelief.
  35.   30 And also those to whom these commandments were given, might have apower to lay the foundation of this bchurch, and to bring it forth out of obscurity and out of cdarkness, the only true and living dchurch upon the face of the whole earth, with which I, the Lord, am well epleased, fspeaking unto the church collectively and not individually—
  36.   2 Being ainspired of the Holy Ghost to lay the foundation thereof, and to bbuild it up unto the most holy faith.
  37.   1 Hearken, O ye people of my achurch, to whom the bkingdom has been given; hearken ye and give ear to him who laid the foundation of the earth, who cmade the heavens and all the dhosts thereof, and by whom all things were made which elive, and move, and have a being.
  38.   6 And they shall be appointed to apurchase the lands, and to make a commencement to lay the foundation of the city; and then shall ye begin to be gathered with your families, every man according to his bfamily, according to his circumstances, and as is appointed to him by the presidency and the bishop of the church, according to the laws and commandments which ye have received, and which ye shall hereafter receive. Even so. Amen.
  39.   7 And also that you might be honored in laying the foundation, and in bearing record of the land upon which the aZion of God shall stand;
  40.   33 Wherefore, be not aweary in bwell-doing, for ye are laying the foundation of a great work. And out of csmall things proceedeth that which is great.
  41.   1 And again, verily I say unto you, my afriends, a commandment I give unto you, that ye shall commence a work of laying out and preparing a beginning and foundation of the city of the bstake of Zion, here in the land of Kirtland, beginning at my house.
  42.   47 And while they were yet laying the foundation thereof, they began to say among themselves: And what need hath my lord of this tower?
  43.   11 And in aone year from this day let them re-commence laying the foundation of my bhouse.
  44.   2 For the building of mine ahouse, and for the laying of the foundation of Zion and for the priesthood, and for the debts of the Presidency of my Church.
  45.   118 And hearken unto the counsel of my servants Joseph, and Hyrum, and William Law, and unto the authorities which I have called to lay the foundation of Zion; and it shall be well with him forever and ever. Even so. Amen.
  46.   38 Which afoundation he did lay, and was faithful; and I took him to myself.
  47.   53 The Prophet Joseph Smith, and my father, Hyrum Smith, Brigham Young, John Taylor, Wilford Woodruff, and other choice aspirits who were breserved to come forth in the cfulness of times to take part in laying the dfoundations of the great latter-day work,
  48.   44 The heavens he made; the aearth is his bfootstool; and the foundation thereof is his. Behold, he laid it, an host of men hath he brought in upon the face thereof.
