1. Gen. 23: 7, 12-13
   7 And Abraham stood up, and bowed himself to the people of the land, even to the children of Heth.

   13 And he spake unto Ephron in the audience of the people of the land, saying, But if thou wilt give it, I pray thee, hear me: I will give thee money for the field; take it of me, and I will bury my dead there.
2. Gen. 42: 6
   6 And Joseph was the ^agovernor over the land, and he it was that sold to all the people of the land: and Joseph’s brethren came, and ^bbowed down themselves before him with their faces to the earth.
3. Ex. 5: 5
   5 And Pharaoh said, Behold, the people of the land now are ^amany, and ye make them rest from their burdens.
4. Lev. 20: 2, 4

   20 And all the people of the land rejoiced, and the city was in quiet: and they slew Athaliah with the sword beside the king’s house.

   5 ¶ And the Lord smote the king, so that he was a ^aleper unto the day of his death, and dwelt in a ^bseveral house. And ^cJotham the king’s son was over the house, judging the people of the land.

   15 And king Ahaz commanded Urijah the priest, saying, Upon the great altar burn the morning burnt offering, and the evening meat offering, and the king’s burnt sacrifice, and his meat offering, with the burnt offering of all the people of the land, and their meat offering, and their drink offerings; and sprinkle upon it all the blood of the burnt offering, and all the blood of the sacrifice: and the brasen altar shall be for me to enquire by.
9. 2 Kgs. 21: 24
   24 And the people of the land slew all them that had conspired against king Amon; and the people of the land made ^aJosiah his son king in his stead.
10. 2 Kgs. 23: 30, 35
    30 And his servants carried him in a chariot dead from Megiddo, and brought him to Jerusalem, and buried him in his own sepulchre. And the people of the land took ^aJehoahaz the son of Josiah, and anointed him, and made him king in his father’s stead.

    14 And he ^acarried away all Jerusalem, and all the princes, and all the mighty men of valour, even ten thousand captives, and all the craftsmen and ^bsmiths: none remained, save the poorest sort of the people of the land.
