"People of the land"

  1. 7 And Abraham stood up, and bowed himself to the people of the land, even to the children of Heth.

    12 And Abraham bowed down himself before the people of the land.
    13 And he spake unto Ephron in the audience of the people of the land, saying, But if thou wilt give it, I pray thee, hear me: I will give thee money for the field; take it of me, and I will bury my dead there.
  2. 6 And Joseph was the agovernor over the land, and he it was that sold to all the people of the land: and Joseph’s brethren came, and bbowed down themselves before him with their faces to the earth.
  3. 5 And Pharaoh said, Behold, the people of the land now are amany, and ye make them rest from their burdens.
  4. 2 Again, thou shalt say to the children of Israel, Whosoever he be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn in Israel, that giveth any of his seed unto aMolech; he shall surely be put to death: the people of the land shall stone him with stones.

    4 And if the people of the land do any ways hide their eyes from the man, when he giveth of his seed unto Molech, and akill him not:
  5. 9 Only arebel not ye against the Lord, neither fear ye the people of the land; for they are bread for us: their defence is departed from them, and the Lord is with us: bfear them not.
  6. 14 And when she looked, behold, the king stood by a apillar, as the manner was, and the princes and the trumpeters by the king, and all the people of the land rejoiced, and blew with trumpets: and Athaliah rent her clothes, and cried, Treason, Treason.

    18 And all the people of the land went into the house of Baal, and brake it down; his altars and his images brake they in pieces thoroughly, and slew Mattan the priest of Baal before the altars. And the priest appointed officers over the house of the Lord.
    19 And he took the rulers over hundreds, and the captains, and the guard, and all the people of the land; and they brought down the king from the house of the Lord, and came by the way of the gate of the guard to the king’s house. And he sat on the throne of the kings.
    20 And all the people of the land rejoiced, and the city was in quiet: and they slew Athaliah with the sword beside the king’s house.
  7. 5 ¶ And the Lord smote the king, so that he was a aleper unto the day of his death, and dwelt in a bseveral house. And cJotham the king’s son was over the house, judging the people of the land.
  8. 15 And king Ahaz commanded Urijah the priest, saying, Upon the great altar burn the morning burnt offering, and the evening meat offering, and the king’s burnt sacrifice, and his meat offering, with the burnt offering of all the people of the land, and their meat offering, and their drink offerings; and sprinkle upon it all the blood of the burnt offering, and all the blood of the sacrifice: and the brasen altar shall be for me to enquire by.
  9. 24 And the people of the land slew all them that had conspired against king Amon; and the people of the land made aJosiah his son king in his stead.
  10. 30 And his servants carried him in a chariot dead from Megiddo, and brought him to Jerusalem, and buried him in his own sepulchre. And the people of the land took aJehoahaz the son of Josiah, and anointed him, and made him king in his father’s stead.

    35 And Jehoiakim gave the silver and the gold to Pharaoh; but he taxed the land to give the money according to the commandment of Pharaoh: he exacted the silver and the gold of the people of the land, of every one according to his taxation, to give it unto Pharaoh-nechoh.
  11. 14 And he acarried away all Jerusalem, and all the princes, and all the mighty men of valour, even ten thousand captives, and all the craftsmen and bsmiths: none remained, save the poorest sort of the people of the land.
  12. 3 And on the ninth day of the fourth month the famine prevailed in the city, and there was no bread for the people of the land.

    19 And out of the city he took an officer that was set over the amen of war, and five men of them that were in the king’s presence, which were found in the city, and the principal scribe of the host, which mustered the people of the land, and threescore men of the people of the land that were found in the city:
  13. 25 ¶ And they transgressed against the God of their fathers, and went a whoring after the gods of the people of the land, whom God destroyed before them.
  14. 13 And she looked, and, behold, the king stood at his pillar at the entering in, and the princes and the trumpets by the king: and all the people of the land rejoiced, and sounded with trumpets, also the singers with instruments of musick, and such as taught to asing praise. Then Athaliah rent her clothes, and said, Treason, Treason.

    20 And he took the captains of hundreds, and the nobles, and the governors of the people, and all the people of the land, and brought down the king from the house of the Lord: and they came through the high gate into the king’s house, and set the king upon the throne of the kingdom.
    21 And all the people of the land rejoiced: and the city was quiet, after that they had slain Athaliah with the sword.
  15. 21 And Uzziah the king was a aleper unto the day of his death, and dwelt in a bseveral house, being a leper; for he was cut off from the house of the Lord: and Jotham his son was over the king’s house, judging the people of the land.
  16. 25 ¶ But the people of the land slew all them that had conspired against king Amon; and the people of the land made Josiah his son king in his stead.
  17. 1 Then the people of the land took aJehoahaz the son of Josiah, and made him bking in his father’s stead in Jerusalem.
  18. 4 Then the people of the land aweakened the hands of the people of Judah, and troubled them in building,
  19. 2 And Shechaniah the son of Jehiel, one of the sons of Elam, answered and said unto Ezra, We have trespassed against our God, and have taken astrange wives of the people of the land: yet now there is hope in Israel concerning this thing.

    11 Now therefore make aconfession unto the Lord God of your fathers, and do his pleasure: and bseparate yourselves from the people of the land, and from the strange wives.
  20. 24 So the children went in and possessed the land, and thou subduedst before them the inhabitants of the land, the Canaanites, and gavest them into their hands, with their kings, and the people of the land, that they might do with them as they would.
  21. 30 And that we would not give our adaughters unto the people of the land, nor take their daughters for our sons:
    31 And if the people of the land bring aware or any bvictuals on the csabbath day to sell, that we would not buy it of them on the sabbath, or on the holy day: and that we would leave the dseventh year, and the exaction of every debt.
  22. 17 And in every province, and in every city, whithersoever the king’s commandment and his decree came, the Jews had joy and gladness, a feast and a good aday. And many of the people of the land became Jews; for the bfear of the Jews fell upon them.
  23. 18 For, behold, I have made thee this day a defenced city, and an iron pillar, and brasen walls against the whole land, against the kings of Judah, against the aprinces thereof, against the priests thereof, and against the people of the land.
  24. 19 The princes of Judah, and the princes of Jerusalem, the eunuchs, and the priests, and all the people of the land, which passed between the parts of the calf;
  25. 2 But neither he, nor his servants, nor the people of the land, did hearken unto the words of the Lord, which he spake by the prophet Jeremiah.
  26. 21 The incense that ye burned in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, ye, and your fathers, your kings, and your princes, and the people of the land, did not the Lord aremember them, and came it not into his mind?
  27. 6 And in the fourth month, in the ninth day of the month, the afamine was sore in the city, so that there was no bbread for the people of the land.

    25 He took also out of the city an aeunuch, which had the charge of the men of war; and seven bmen of them that were near the king’s person, which were found in the city; and the principal scribe of the host, who mustered the people of the land; and threescore men of the people of the land, that were found in the midst of the city.
  28. 27 The king shall mourn, and the prince shall be clothed with desolation, and the hands of the people of the land shall be troubled: I will do unto them after their way, and according to their deserts will I judge them; and they shall aknow that I am the Lord.
  29. 19 And say unto the people of the land, Thus saith the Lord God of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and of the land of Israel; They shall eat their bread with carefulness, and drink their water with aastonishment, that her land may be desolate from all that is therein, because of the bviolence of all them that dwell therein.
  30. 29 The people of the land have used oppression, and exercised robbery, and have vexed the apoor and needy: yea, they have oppressed the stranger wrongfully.
  31. 2 Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring the sword upon a land, if the people of the land take a man of their coasts, and set him for their awatchman:
  32. 13 Yea, all the people of the land shall bury them; and it shall be to them aa renown the day that I shall be glorified, saith the Lord God.
  33. 16 All the people of the land shall give this oblation for the prince in Israel.

    22 And upon that day shall the prince prepare for himself and for all the people of the land a bullock for a sin offering.
  34. 3 Likewise the people of the land shall worship at the door of this gate before the Lord in the sabbaths and in the new moons.

    9 ¶ But when the people of the land shall come before the Lord in the solemn afeasts, he that entereth in by the way of the north gate to worship shall go out by the way of the south gate; and he that entereth by the way of the south gate shall go forth by the way of the north gate: he shall not return by the way of the gate whereby he came in, but shall go forth over against it.
  35. 6 Neither have we ahearkened unto thy servants the prophets, which spake in thy name to our kings, our princes, and our fathers, and to all the people of the land.
  36. 4 Yet now be strong, O Zerubbabel, saith the Lord; and be strong, O Joshua, son of Josedech, the high priest; and be astrong, all ye people of the land, saith the Lord, and work: for I am with you, saith the Lord of hosts:
  37. 5 Speak unto all the people of the land, and to the priests, saying, When ye fasted and mourned in the fifth and seventh month, even those seventy years, did ye at all afast unto me, even to me?
  38. 1 Behold, now it came to pass that after the apeople of Ammon were established in the land of Jershon, yea, and also after the Lamanites were bdriven out of the land, and their dead were buried by the people of the land—
  39. 39 O ye people of the land, that ye would hear my words! And I pray that the anger of the Lord be turned away from you, and that ye would repent and be saved.
  40. 1 And now behold, it came to pass that all the people of the land did ahear these sayings, and did witness of it. And after these sayings there was silence in the land for the space of many hours;
  41. 19 And it came to pass that Lib also did that which was good in the sight of the Lord. And in the days of Lib the apoisonous serpents were destroyed. Wherefore they did go into the land southward, to hunt food for the people of the land, for the land was covered with animals of the forest. And Lib also himself became a great bhunter.
