Son reigns

  1.   32 And Bela the son of Beor reigned in Edom: and the name of his city was Dinhabah.
      33 And Bela died, and Jobab the son of Zerah of Bozrah reigned in his stead.

      35 And Husham died, and Hadad the son of Bedad, who smote Midian in the field of Moab, reigned in his stead: and the name of his city was Avith.
          •  •  •
      38 And Saul died, and Baal-hanan the son of Achbor reigned in his stead.
      39 And Baal-hanan the son of Achbor died, and Hadar reigned in his stead: and the name of his city was Pau; and his wife’s name was Mehetabel, the daughter of Matred, the daughter of Mezahab.
  2.   10 Ish-bosheth Saul’s son was forty years old when he began to reign over Israel, and reigned two years. But the house of Judah followed David.
  3.   1 And it came to pass after this, that the king of the children of aAmmon died, and Hanun his son reigned in his stead.

      17 And she said unto him, My lord, thou aswarest by the Lord thy God unto thine handmaid, saying, Assuredly Solomon thy son shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne.

      30 Even as I sware unto thee by the Lord God of Israel, saying, Assuredly Solomon thy son shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne in my stead; even so will I certainly do this day.
  6.   43 And Solomon slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David his father: and aRehoboam his son reigned in his stead.
  7.   20 And the days which Jeroboam reigned were two and twenty years: and he slept with his fathers, and Nadab his son reigned in his stead.
      21 ¶ And Rehoboam the son of Solomon reigned in Judah. Rehoboam was forty and one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city which the Lord did choose out of all the tribes of Israel, to put his name there. And his mother’s name was Naamah an Ammonitess.

      31 And Rehoboam slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David. And his mother’s name was Naamah an Ammonitess. And aAbijam his son reigned in his stead.
  8.   1 Now in the eighteenth year of king Jeroboam the son of Nebat reigned Abijam over Judah.

      8 And Abijam slept with his fathers; and they buried him in the city of David: and Asa his son reigned in his stead.
          •  •  •
      24 And Asa slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father: and aJehoshaphat his son reigned in his stead.
      25 ¶ And Nadab the son of Jeroboam began to reign over Israel in the second year of Asa king of Judah, and reigned over Israel two years.

      33 In the third year of Asa king of Judah began Baasha the son of Ahijah to reign over all Israel in Tirzah, twenty and four years.
  9.   6 So Baasha slept with his fathers, and was buried in Tirzah: and Elah his son reigned in his stead.
          •  •  •
      8 ¶ In the twenty and sixth year of Asa king of Judah began Elah the son of Baasha to reign over Israel in Tirzah, two years.
          •  •  •
      22 But the people that followed Omri prevailed against the people that followed Tibni the son of Ginath: so Tibni died, and Omri reigned.
          •  •  •
      28 So Omri slept with his fathers, and was buried in Samaria: and Ahab his son reigned in his stead.
      29 ¶ And in the thirty and eighth year of Asa king of Judah began Ahab the son of Omri to reign over Israel: and Ahab the son of Omri reigned over Israel in Samaria twenty and two years.
  10.   40 So Ahab slept with his fathers; and Ahaziah his son reigned in his stead.
      41 ¶ And Jehoshaphat the son of Asa began to reign over Judah in the fourth year of Ahab king of Israel.

      50 ¶ And Jehoshaphat slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father: and Jehoram his son reigned in his stead.
      51 ¶ Ahaziah the son of Ahab began to reign over Israel in Samaria the seventeenth year of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, and reigned two years over Israel.
  11.   17 ¶ So he adied according to the word of the Lord which Elijah had spoken. And bJehoram reigned in his stead in the second year of Jehoram the son of Jehoshaphat king of Judah; because he had no son.
  12.   1 Now aJehoram the son of Ahab began to reign over Israel in bSamaria the eighteenth year of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, and reigned twelve years.

      27 Then he took his eldest son that should have reigned in his stead, and offered him for a burnt offering upon the wall. And there was great indignation against Israel: and they departed from him, and returned to their own land.
  13.   16 ¶ And in the fifth year of Joram the son of Ahab king of Israel, Jehoshaphat being then king of Judah, Jehoram the son of Jehoshaphat king of Judah began to reign.

      24 And Joram slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David: and Ahaziah his son reigned in his stead.
      25 ¶ In the twelfth year of Joram the son of Ahab king of Israel did Ahaziah the son of Jehoram king of Judah begin to reign.
  14.   29 And in the eleventh year of Joram the son of Ahab began Ahaziah to reign over Judah.
  15.   35 And Jehu slept with his fathers: and they buried him in Samaria. And Jehoahaz his son reigned in his stead.
  16.   21 For Jozachar the son of Shimeath, and Jehozabad the son of Shomer, his servants, smote him, and he died; and they buried him with his fathers in the city of David: and Amaziah his son reigned in his stead.
  17.   1 In the three and twentieth year of Joash the son of Ahaziah king of Judah Jehoahaz the son of Jehu began to reign over Israel in Samaria, and reigned seventeen years.

      9 And Jehoahaz slept with his fathers; and they buried him in Samaria: and Joash his son reigned in his stead.
      10 ¶ In the thirty and seventh year of Joash king of Judah began Jehoash the son of Jehoahaz to reign over Israel in Samaria, and reigned sixteen years.

      24 So Hazael king of Syria died; and Ben-hadad his son reigned in his stead.
  18.   1 In the second year of Joash son of Jehoahaz king of Israel reigned Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah.
          •  •  •
      16 And Jehoash slept with his fathers, and was buried in Samaria with the kings of Israel; and Jeroboam his son reigned in his stead.
          •  •  •
      23 ¶ In the fifteenth year of Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah Jeroboam the son of Joash king of Israel began to reign in Samaria, and reigned forty and one years.
          •  •  •
      29 And Jeroboam slept with his fathers, even with the kings of Israel; and Zachariah his son reigned in his stead.
  19.   1 In the twenty and seventh year of Jeroboam king of Israel began Azariah son of Amaziah king of Judah to reign.
          •  •  •
      7 So Azariah slept with his fathers; and they buried him with his fathers in the city of David: and Jotham his son reigned in his stead.
      8 ¶ In the thirty and eighth year of Azariah king of Judah did Zachariah the son of Jeroboam reign over Israel in Samaria six months.
          •  •  •
      10 And Shallum the son of Jabesh conspired against him, and asmote him before the people, and slew him, and reigned in his stead.
          •  •  •
      13 ¶ Shallum the son of Jabesh began to reign in the nine and thirtieth year of aUzziah king of Judah; and he reigned a full month in Samaria.
      14 For Menahem the son of Gadi went up from Tirzah, and came to Samaria, and smote Shallum the son of Jabesh in Samaria, and slew him, and reigned in his stead.

      17 In the nine and thirtieth year of Azariah king of Judah began Menahem the son of Gadi to reign over Israel, and reigned ten years in Samaria.

      22 And Menahem slept with his fathers; and Pekahiah his son reigned in his stead.
      23 ¶ In the fiftieth year of Azariah king of Judah Pekahiah the son of Menahem began to reign over Israel in Samaria, and reigned two years.
          •  •  •
      25 But aPekah the son of Remaliah, a captain of his, conspired against him, and smote him in Samaria, in the palace of the king’s house, with Argob and Arieh, and with him fifty men of the Gileadites: and he killed him, and reigned in his room.
          •  •  •
      27 ¶ In the two and fiftieth year of Azariah king of Judah aPekah the son of Remaliah began to reign over Israel in Samaria, and reigned twenty years.
          •  •  •
      30 And Hoshea the son of Elah made a conspiracy against Pekah the son of Remaliah, and smote him, and slew him, and reigned in his stead, in the twentieth year of aJotham the son of Uzziah.
          •  •  •
      32 ¶ In the second year of Pekah the son of Remaliah king of Israel began aJotham the son of Uzziah king of Judah to reign.
          •  •  •
      38 And aJotham slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father: and Ahaz his son reigned in his stead.
  20.   1 In the seventeenth year of Pekah the son of Remaliah aAhaz the son of Jotham king of Judah began to reign.
          •  •  •
      20 And aAhaz slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David: and Hezekiah his son reigned in his stead.
  21.   1 In the twelfth year of Ahaz king of Judah began Hoshea the son of Elah to reign in Samaria over Israel nine years.
  22.   1 Now it came to pass in the third year of Hoshea son of Elah king of Israel, that aHezekiah the son of Ahaz king of Judah began to reign.
  23.   37 And it came to pass, as he was worshipping in the house of Nisroch his god, that Adrammelech and Sharezer his sons smote him with the sword: and they escaped into the land of Armenia. And Esarhaddon his son reigned in his stead.
  24.   21 And Hezekiah slept with his fathers: and Manasseh his son reigned in his stead.
  25.   18 And Manasseh slept with his fathers, and was buried in the garden of his own house, in the garden of Uzza: and Amon his son reigned in his stead.

      26 And he was buried in his sepulchre in the garden of Uzza: and Josiah his son reigned in his stead.
  26.   6 So aJehoiakim slept with his fathers: and Jehoiachin his son reigned in his stead.
  27.   43 ¶ Now these are the kings that reigned in the land of aEdom before any king reigned over the children of Israel; Bela the son of Beor: and the name of his city was Dinhabah.

  35.   1 And the inhabitants of Jerusalem made Ahaziah his youngest son king in his stead: for the band of men that came with the aArabians to the camp had slain all the eldest. So Ahaziah the son of Jehoram king of Judah reigned.
  36.   3 And all the congregation made a covenant with the king in the house of God. And he said unto them, Behold, the king’s son shall reign, as the Lord hath said of the sons of aDavid.
  37.   27 ¶ Now concerning his sons, and the greatness of the burdens laid upon him, and the repairing of the house of God, behold, they are written in the story of the book of the kings. And Amaziah his son reigned in his stead.
  38.   23 So Uzziah slept with his fathers, and they buried him with his fathers in the field of the burial which belonged to the kings; for they said, He is a leper: and Jotham his son reigned in his stead.
  39.   9 ¶ And Jotham slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David: and Ahaz his son reigned in his stead.
  40.   27 And Ahaz slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city, even in Jerusalem: but they brought him not into the asepulchres of the kings of Israel: and Hezekiah his son reigned in his stead.
  41.   33 And Hezekiah slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the chiefest of the sepulchres of the sons of David: and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem did him honour at his death. And Manasseh his son reigned in his stead.
  42.   20 ¶ So Manasseh slept with his fathers, and they buried him in his own house: and Amon his son reigned in his stead.
  43.   8 ¶ Now in the eighteenth year of his reign, when he had purged the land, and the house, he sent aShaphan the son of Azaliah, and Maaseiah the governor of the city, and Joah the son of Joahaz the recorder, to repair the house of the Lord his God.
  44.   8 Now the rest of the acts of aJehoiakim, and his abominations which he did, and that which was found in him, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah: and bJehoiachin his son reigned in his stead.
  45.   1 Now after these things, in the reign of Artaxerxes king of Persia, Ezra the son of Seraiah, the son of Azariah, the son of aHilkiah,
