"Great evil"

  1. 9 And see, if it goeth up by the way of his own coast to Beth-shemesh, then he hath done us this great evil: but if not, then we shall know that it is not his hand that smote us; it was a chance that happened to us.
  2. 27 Shall we then hearken unto you to do all this great evil, to transgress against our God in marrying astrange wives?
  3. 21 For there is a man whose labour is in wisdom, and in knowledge, and in aequity; yet to a man that hath not laboured therein shall he leave it for his portion. This also is bvanity and a great evil.
  4. 10 ¶ And it shall come to pass, when thou shalt shew this people all these words, and they shall say unto thee, aWherefore hath the Lord pronounced all this great evil against us? or what is our iniquity? or what is our sin that we have committed against the Lord our God?
  5. 19 Did Hezekiah king of Judah and all Judah put him at all to death? did he not fear the Lord, aand besought the Lord, and the Lord repented him of the evil which he had pronounced against them? Thus might we procure great evil against our souls.
  6. 42 For thus saith the Lord; Like as I have brought all this great evil upon this people, so will I bring upon them all the good that I have promised them.
  7. 7 Therefore now thus saith the Lord, the God of hosts, the God of Israel; Wherefore commit ye this great aevil against your souls, to cut off from you man and woman, child and suckling, out of Judah, to leave you none to remain;
  8. 12 And he hath confirmed his words, which he spake against us, and against our judges that judged us, by bringing upon us a great aevil: for under the whole heaven hath not been bdone as hath been done upon Jerusalem.
  9. 25 For if this people had not fallen into transgression the Lord would not have suffered that this great evil should come upon them. But behold, they would not hearken unto his words; but there arose contentions among them, even so much that they did shed blood among themselves.
  10. 13 And now, O king, what great evil hast thou done, or what great sins have thy people committed, that we should be acondemned of God or judged of this man?

    29 And again he said unto them: If ye teach the alaw of Moses why do ye not keep it? Why do ye set your hearts upon briches? Why do ye commit whoredoms and cspend your strength with harlots, yea, and cause this people to commit sin, that the Lord has cause to send me to prophesy against this people, yea, even a great evil against this people?
  11. 25 And now thou hast lied before God unto me. Thou saidst unto me—Behold these six onties, which are of great worth, I will give unto thee—when thou hadst it in thy heart to retain them from me; and it was only thy desire that I should deny the true and living God, that thou mightest have cause to destroy me. And now behold, for this great evil thou shalt have thy reward.
  12. 19 And now the people began to murmur among themselves; some saying that it was a great evil that had come upon them, or upon the king and his house, because he had suffered that the Nephite should aremain in the land.
  13. 34 And they were lifted up in apride, even to the persecution of many of their brethren. Now this was a great evil, which did cause the more humble part of the people to suffer great persecutions, and to wade through much affliction.
  14. 34 Now this great evil, which came unto the people because of their iniquity, did stir them up again in aremembrance of the Lord their God.
  15. 52 Now, behold, the nobleman, the lord of the avineyard, called upon his servants, and said unto them, Why! what is the cause of this great evil?
