Roaring lion

  1. 5 ¶ Then went Samson down, and his father and his mother, to Timnath, and came to the vineyards of Timnath: and, behold, a young lion roared against him.
  2. 10 The roaring of the lion, and the voice of the fierce lion, and the teeth of the young lions, are broken.
  3. 13 They gaped upon me with their mouths, as a ravening and a roaring lion.
  4. 21 The young lions roar after their prey, and seek their meat from God.
  5. 12 The king’s wrath is as the roaring of a lion; but his favour is as dew upon the grass.
  6. 2 The fear of a king is as the roaring of a lion: whoso provoketh him to anger sinneth against his own soul.
  7. 15 As a roaring lion, and a ranging bear; so is a wicked ruler over the poor people.
  8. 29 Their roaring shall be like a lion, they shall roar like young lions: yea, they shall roar, and lay hold of the prey, and shall carry it away safe, and none shall deliver it.
  9. 4 For thus hath the Lord spoken unto me, Like as the lion and the young lion roaring on his prey, when a multitude of shepherds is called forth against him, he will not be afraid of their voice, nor abase himself for the noise of them: so shall the Lord of hosts come down to fight for mount Zion, and for the hill thereof.
  10. 15 The young lions roared upon him, and yelled, and they made his land waste: his cities are burned without inhabitant.
  11. 38 They shall roar together like lions: they shall yell as lions’ whelps.
  12. 25 There is a conspiracy of her prophets in the midst thereof, like a roaring lion ravening the prey; they have devoured souls; they have taken the treasure and precious things; they have made her many widows in the midst thereof.
  13. 10 They shall walk after the Lord: he shall roar like a lion: when he shall roar, then the children shall tremble from the west.
  14. 4 Will a lion roar in the forest, when he hath no prey? will a young lion cry out of his den, if he have taken nothing?
    • • •
8 The lion hath roared, who will not fear? the Lord God hath spoken, who can but prophesy?
  15. 3 Her princes within her are roaring lions; her judges are evening wolves; they gnaw not the bones till the morrow.
  16. 3 ¶ There is a voice of the howling of the shepherds; for their glory is spoiled: a voice of the roaring of young lions; for the pride of Jordan is spoiled.
  17. 8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
  18. 28 Whose arrows shall be sharp, and all their bows bent, and their horses’ hoofs shall be counted like flint, and their wheels like a whirlwind, their roaring like a lion.
29 They shall roar like young lions; yea, they shall roar, and lay hold of the prey, and shall carry away safe, and none shall deliver.
  19. 13 And so great was the faith of Enoch that he led the people of God, and their enemies came to battle against them; and he spake the word of the Lord, and the earth trembled, and the mountains fled, even according to his command; and the rivers of water were turned out of their course; and the roar of the lions was heard out of the wilderness; and all nations feared greatly, so powerful was the word of Enoch, and so great was the power of the language which God had given him.
