"Afflict . . . soul"

  1. 13 Every vow, and every binding oath to afflict the soul, her husband may establish it, or her husband may make it void.
  2. 12 And of thy mercy cut off mine enemies, and destroy all them that afflict my soul: for I am thy servant.
  3. 5 Is it such a fast that I have chosen? a day for a man to afflict his soul? is it to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? wilt thou call this a fast, and an acceptable day to the Lord?
  4. 27 And why should I yield to sin, because of my flesh? Yea, why should I give way to temptations, that the evil one have place in my heart to destroy my peace and afflict my soul? Why am I angry because of mine enemy?
