"If we"

  1.   26 And Judah said unto his brethren, What profit is it if we slay our brother, and conceal his blood?
  2.   5 Wherefore, said they, if we have found grace in thy sight, let this land be given unto thy servants for a possession, and bring us not over Jordan.
  3.   25 Now therefore why should we die? for this great fire will consume us: if we hear the voice of the Lord our God any more, then we shall die.
  4.   25 And it shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all these commandments before the Lord our God, as he hath commanded us.
  5.   24 And if we have not rather done it for fear of this thing, saying, In time to come your children might speak unto our children, saying, What have ye to do with the Lord God of Israel?
  6.   10 And the elders of Gilead said unto Jephthah, The Lord be witness between us, if we do not so according to thy words.
  7.   7 Then said Saul to his servant, But, behold, if we go, what shall we bring the man? for the bread is spent in our vessels, and there is not a present to bring to the man of God: what have we?
  8.   3 And David’s men said unto him, Behold, we be afraid here in Judah: how much more then if we come to Keilah against the armies of the Philistines?
  9.   18 And it came to pass on the seventh day, that the child died. And the servants of David feared to tell him that the child was dead: for they said, Behold, while the child was yet alive, we spake unto him, and he would not hearken unto our voice: how will he then vex himself, if we tell him that the child is dead?
  10.   3 But the people answered, Thou shalt not go forth: for if we flee away, they will not care for us; neither if half of us die, will they care for us: but now thou art worth ten thousand of us: therefore now it is better that thou succour us out of the city.
  11.   4 If we say, We will enter into the city, then the famine is in the city, and we shall die there: and if we sit still here, we die also. Now therefore come, and let us fall unto the host of the Syrians: if they save us alive, we shall live; and if they kill us, we shall but die.
          •  •  •
      9 Then they said one to another, We do not well: this day is a day of good tidings, and we hold our peace: if we tarry till the morning light, some mischief will come upon us: now therefore come, that we may go and tell the king’s household.
  12.   4 For we are sold, I and my people, to be destroyed, to be slain, and to perish. But if we had been sold for bondmen and bondwomen, I had held my tongue, although the enemy could not countervail the king’s damage.
  13.   2 If we assay to commune with thee, wilt thou be grieved? but who can withhold himself from speaking?
  14.   15 What is the Almighty, that we should serve him? and what profit should we have, if we pray unto him?
  15.   20 If we have forgotten the name of our God, or stretched out our hands to a strange god;
  16.   10 We grope for the wall like the blind, and we grope as if we had no eyes: we stumble at noonday as in the night; we are in desolate places as dead men.
  17.   5 Then they said to Jeremiah, The Lord be a true and faithful witness between us, if we do not even according to all things for the which the Lord thy God shall send thee to us.
  18.   3 Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the Lord: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.
  19.   25 The baptism of John, whence was it? from heaven, or of men? And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say unto us, Why did ye not then believe him?
      26 But if we shall say, Of men; we fear the people; for all hold John as a prophet.
  20.   30 And say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.
  21.   31 And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say, Why then did ye not believe him?
      32 But if we shall say, Of men; they feared the people: for all men counted John, that he was a prophet indeed.
  22.   5 And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say, Why then believed ye him not?
      6 But and if we say, Of men; all the people will stone us: for they be persuaded that John was a prophet.
  23.   48 If we let him thus alone, all men will believe on him: and the Romans shall come and take away both our place and nation.
  24.   9 If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole;
  25.   24 But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead;
  26.   10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
  27.   5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
          •  •  •
      8 Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:
  28.   25 But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.
  29.   8 But meat commendeth us not to God: for neither, if we eat, are we the better; neither, if we eat not, are we the worse.
  30.   11 If we have sown unto you spiritual things, is it a great thing if we shall reap your carnal things?
  31.   31 For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.
  32.   2 But I beseech you, that I may not be bold when I am present with that confidence, wherewith I think to be bold against some, which think of us as if we walked according to the flesh.
  33.   17 But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid.
  34.   25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
  35.   9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
  36.   14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
  37.   11 It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him:
      12 If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:
      13 If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.
  38.   3 How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;
  39.   6 But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.
          •  •  •
      14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;
  40.   26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
  41.   25 See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven:
  42.   6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
      7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
      8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
      9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
      10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
  43.   3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
  44.   12 No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.
  45.   9 If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son.
          •  •  •
      14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
      15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.
  46.   19 And we did magnify our office unto the Lord, taking upon us the responsibility, answering the sins of the people upon our own heads if we did not teach them the word of God with all diligence; wherefore, by laboring with our might their blood might not come upon our garments; otherwise their blood would come upon our garments, and we would not be found spotless at the last day.
  47.   18 And he said unto the servant: Behold, the branches of the wild tree have taken hold of the moisture of the root thereof, that the root thereof hath brought forth much strength; and because of the much strength of the root thereof the wild branches have brought forth tame fruit. Now, if we had not grafted in these branches, the tree thereof would have perished. And now, behold, I shall lay up much fruit, which the tree thereof hath brought forth; and the fruit thereof I shall lay up against the season, unto mine own self.
  48.   13 Then if our hearts have been hardened, yea, if we have hardened our hearts against the word, insomuch that it has not been found in us, then will our state be awful, for then we shall be condemned.
      14 For our words will condemn us, yea, all our works will condemn us; we shall not be found spotless; and our thoughts will also condemn us; and in this awful state we shall not dare to look up to our God; and we would fain be glad if we could command the rocks and the mountains to fall upon us to hide us from his presence.
  49.   13 Behold, I say unto you, Nay, let us retain our swords that they be not stained with the blood of our brethren; for perhaps, if we should stain our swords again they can no more be washed bright through the blood of the Son of our great God, which shall be shed for the atonement of our sins.
  50.   9 For if we had not come up out of the land of Zarahemla, these our dearly beloved brethren, who have so dearly beloved us, would still have been racked with hatred against us, yea, and they would also have been strangers to God.
          •  •  •
      30 And we have suffered all manner of afflictions, and all this, that perhaps we might be the means of saving some soul; and we supposed that our joy would be full if perhaps we could be the means of saving some.
  51.   34 And now, if we do not receive anything for our labors in the church, what doth it profit us to labor in the church save it were to declare the truth, that we may have rejoicings in the joy of our brethren?
  52.   33 And now, as I said unto you before, as ye have had so many witnesses, therefore, I beseech of you that ye do not procrastinate the day of your repentance until the end; for after this day of life, which is given us to prepare for eternity, behold, if we do not improve our time while in this life, then cometh the night of darkness wherein there can be no labor performed.
  53.   45 And now I say, is there not a type in this thing? For just as surely as this director did bring our fathers, by following its course, to the promised land, shall the words of Christ, if we follow their course, carry us beyond this vale of sorrow into a far better land of promise.
      46 O my son, do not let us be slothful because of the easiness of the way; for so was it with our fathers; for so was it prepared for them, that if they would look they might live; even so it is with us. The way is prepared, and if we will look we may live forever.
  54.   22 Now this was the covenant which they made, and they cast their garments at the feet of Moroni, saying: We covenant with our God, that we shall be destroyed, even as our brethren in the land northward, if we shall fall into transgression; yea, he may cast us at the feet of our enemies, even as we have cast our garments at thy feet to be trodden under foot, if we shall fall into transgression.
          •  •  •
      27 And now who knoweth but what the remnant of the seed of Joseph, which shall perish as his garment, are those who have dissented from us? Yea, and even it shall be ourselves if we do not stand fast in the faith of Christ.
  55.   30 Now when we saw that the Lamanites began to grow uneasy on this wise, we were desirous to bring a stratagem into effect upon them; therefore Antipus ordered that I should march forth with my little sons to a neighboring city, as if we were carrying provisions to a neighboring city.
      31 And we were to march near the city of Antiparah, as if we were going to the city beyond, in the borders by the seashore.
  56.   35 Behold, we do not know but what ye are unsuccessful, and ye have drawn away the forces into that quarter of the land; if so, we do not desire to murmur.
  57.   16 Yea, had it not been for the war which broke out among ourselves; yea, were it not for these king-men, who caused so much bloodshed among ourselves; yea, at the time we were contending among ourselves, if we had united our strength as we hitherto have done; yea, had it not been for the desire of power and authority which those king-men had over us; had they been true to the cause of our freedom, and united with us, and gone forth against our enemies, instead of taking up their swords against us, which was the cause of so much bloodshed among ourselves; yea, if we had gone forth against them in the strength of the Lord, we should have dispersed our enemies, for it would have been done, according to the fulfilling of his word.
  58.   21 And they will, by the cunning and the mysterious arts of the evil one, work some great mystery which we cannot understand, which will keep us down to be servants to their words, and also servants unto them, for we depend upon them to teach us the word; and thus will they keep us in ignorance if we will yield ourselves unto them, all the days of our lives.
  59.   21 But Gidgiddoni saith unto them: The Lord forbid; for if we should go up against them the Lord would deliver us into their hands; therefore we will prepare ourselves in the center of our lands, and we will gather all our armies together, and we will not go against them, but we will wait till they shall come against us; therefore as the Lord liveth, if we do this he will deliver them into our hands.
  60.   33 And if our plates had been sufficiently large we should have written in Hebrew; but the Hebrew hath been altered by us also; and if we could have written in Hebrew, behold, ye would have had no imperfection in our record.
  61.   6 And now, my beloved son, notwithstanding their hardness, let us labor diligently; for if we should cease to labor, we should be brought under condemnation; for we have a labor to perform whilst in this tabernacle of clay, that we may conquer the enemy of all righteousness, and rest our souls in the kingdom of God.
