By way

  1.   14 And she put her widow’s garments off from her, and covered her with a vail, and wrapped herself, and sat in an open place, which is by the way to Timnath; for she saw that Shelah was grown, and she was not given unto him to wife.

      16 And he turned unto her by the way, and said, Go to, I pray thee, let me come in unto thee; (for he knew not that she was his daughter in law.) And she said, What wilt thou give me, that thou mayest come in unto me?

      21 Then he asked the men of that place, saying, Where is the harlot, that was openly by the way side? And they said, There was no harlot in this place.
  2.   38 And he said, My son shall not go down with you; for his brother is dead, and he is left alone: if mischief befall him by the way in the which ye go, then shall ye bring down my gray hairs with asorrow to the grave.
  3.   23 And to his father he sent after this manner; ten asses laden with the good things of Egypt, and ten she asses laden with corn and bread and meat for his father by the way.

  10.   1 Then we turned, and took our journey into the wilderness by the way of the Red sea, as the Lord spake unto me: and we compassed mount aSeir many days.

      8 And when we passed by from our brethren the children of Esau, which dwelt in Seir, through the way of the plain from Elath, and from Ezion-gaber, we turned and passed by the way of the wilderness of Moab.
  11.   7 And thou shalt ateach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt btalk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

  50.   17 Hast thou not procured this unto thyself, in that thou hast aforsaken the Lord thy God, when he led thee by the way?

  1.   25 Go not forth into the field, nor walk by the way; for the sword of the enemy and fear is on every side.
  2.   4 ¶ And it came to pass, that when aZedekiah the king of Judah saw them, and all the men of war, then they fled, and went forth out of the city by night, by the way of the king’s garden, by the gate betwixt the two walls: and he went out the way of the plain.
  3.   19 O inhabitant of aAroer, stand by the way, and espy; ask him that fleeth, and her that escapeth, and say, What is done?

  5.   4 And the glory of the Lord acame into the bhouse by the way of the gate cwhose prospect is toward the east.
  6.   3 It is for the aprince; the prince, he shall sit in it to eat bbread before the Lord; he shall enter by the way of the porch of that gate, and shall go out by the way of the same.
  7.   2 And the prince shall enter by the way of the porch of that gate without, and shall stand by the apost of the gate, and the priests shall prepare his burnt boffering and his peace offerings, and he shall worship at the threshold of the gate: then he shall go forth; but the gate shall not be shut until the evening.

      9 ¶ But when the people of the land shall come before the Lord in the solemn afeasts, he that entereth in by the way of the north gate to worship shall go out by the way of the south gate; and he that entereth by the way of the south gate shall go forth by the way of the north gate: he shall not return by the way of the gate whereby he came in, but shall go forth over against it.
  8.   2 Then brought he me out of the way of the gate northward, and led me about the way without unto the utter agate by the way that looketh eastward; and, behold, there ran out waters on the right side.
  9.   7 Therefore I will be unto them as a lion: as a leopard by the way will I observe them:
  10.   15 The land of aZabulon, and the land of Nephthalim, by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles;
  11.   28 ¶ And when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with adevils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way.
  12.   4 And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up:

      19 When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and aunderstandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and bcatcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.

      15 And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, aSatan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts.

  26.   3 And after I had made these plates by way of commandment, I, Nephi, received a commandment that the ministry and the prophecies, the more plain and precious parts of them, should be written upon athese plates; and that the things which were written should be kept for the instruction of my people, who should possess the land, and also for other bwise purposes, which purposes are known unto the Lord.

  29.   18 And then are ye in this astrait and narrow bpath which leads to eternal life; yea, ye have entered in by the gate; ye have done according to the commandments of the Father and the Son; and ye have received the Holy Ghost, which cwitnesses of the dFather and the Son, unto the fulfilling of the promise which he hath made, that if ye entered in by the way ye should receive.
  30.   1 And now, behold, my beloved brethren, I suppose that ye ponder somewhat in your hearts concerning that which ye should do after ye have entered in by the way. But, behold, why do ye ponder these things in your hearts?

      5 For behold, again I say unto you that if ye will enter in by the way, and receive the Holy Ghost, it will ashow unto you all things what ye should do.
  31.   62 I speak by way of command unto you that belong to the church; and unto those who do not belong to the church I speak by way of invitation, saying: Come and be baptized unto repentance, that ye also may be partakers of the fruit of the atree of life.
  32.   18 Now it came to pass that after Alma had received his message from the angel of the Lord he returned speedily to the land of Ammonihah. And he entered the city by another way, yea, by the way which is on the south of the city of Ammonihah.
  33.   6 For I went about with the sons of Mosiah, seeking to adestroy the church of God; but behold, God sent his holy angel to stop us by the way.

  37.   13 And it came to pass that aGidgiddoni commanded that his armies should pursue them as far as the borders of the wilderness, and that they should not spare any that should fall into their hands by the way; and thus they did pursue them and did slay them, to the borders of the wilderness, even until they had fulfilled the commandment of Gidgiddoni.
  38.   32 And it came to pass that there were many of them which did perish by the way; nevertheless, there were some which fled into the land southward.

      34 And it came to pass that the people did follow the course of the beasts, and did devour the acarcasses of them which fell by the way, until they had devoured them all. Now when the people saw that they must bperish they began to crepent of their iniquities and cry unto the Lord.
  39.   16 And again, my son, there are many awidows and their daughters who remain in Sherrizah; and that part of the provisions which the Lamanites did not carry away, behold, the army of Zenephi has carried away, and left them to wander whithersoever they can for food; and many old women do faint by the way and die.
  40.   2 And I aseal up bthese records, after I have spoken a few words by way of exhortation unto you.
  41.   9 And now, Oliver Cowdery, I speak unto you, and also unto David Whitmer, by the way of commandment; for, behold, I acommand all men everywhere to repent, and I speak unto you, even as unto Paul mine bapostle, for you are called even with that same calling with which he was called.
  42.   37 And again, by way of commandment to the church concerning the manner of baptism—All those who ahumble themselves before God, and desire to be baptized, and come forth with broken hearts and bcontrite spirits, and witness before the church that they have truly repented of all their sins, and are willing to take upon them the cname of Jesus Christ, having a ddetermination to serve him to the end, and truly manifest by their eworks that they have received of the fSpirit of Christ unto the gremission of their sins, shall be received by baptism into his church.
  43.   4 And if thou art aled at any time by the Comforter to bspeak or teach, or at all times by the way of commandment unto the church, thou mayest do it.
      5 But thou shalt not write by way of acommandment, but by wisdom;

      8 And now, behold, I say unto you that you shall go unto the aLamanites and preach my bgospel unto them; and inasmuch as they creceive thy teachings thou shalt cause my dchurch to be established among them; and thou shalt have revelations, but write them not by way of commandment.
  44.   8 And also my servant John Murdock, and my servant Hyrum Smith, take their journey unto the same place by the way of Detroit.
      9 And let them journey from thence preaching the word by the way, saying anone other things than that which the bprophets and apostles have written, and that which is taught them by the cComforter through the prayer of faith.
      10 Let them go atwo by two, and thus let them preach by the way in every congregation, baptizing by bwater, and the laying on of the chands by the water’s side.

      22 And again, verily I say unto you, let my servant aThomas B. Marsh and my servant bEzra Thayre take their journey also, preaching the word by the way unto this same land.
      23 And again, let my servant Isaac Morley and my servant Ezra Booth take their journey, also preaching the word by the way unto this same land.
          •  •  •
      25 Let my servants David Whitmer and Harvey Whitlock also take their journey, and preach by the way unto this same land.
      26 And let my servants aParley P. Pratt and bOrson Pratt take their journey, and preach by the way, even unto this same land.
      27 And let my servants Solomon Hancock and Simeon Carter also take their journey unto this same land, and preach by the way.
  45.   2 And then thou shalt be ordained by the hand of my servant Joseph Smith, Jun., to be an elder unto this church, to preach repentance and aremission of sins by way of baptism in the name of Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God.
  46.   47 Let them preach by the way, and abear testimony of the truth in all places, and call upon the rich, the high and the low, and the poor to repent.

      59 And let no man return from this land except he bear arecord by the way, of that which he knows and most assuredly believes.
          •  •  •
      63 And let them also return, preaching the gospel by the way, bearing record of the things which are revealed unto them.
  47.   11 And he that is able, let him return it by the way of the agent; and he that is not, of him it is not required.
  48.   25 And they shall do alike unto the children of Israel, bpitching their tents by the way.
  49.   22 And now, verily I say unto you, that as I said that I would make known my will unto you, behold I will make it known unto you, anot by the way of commandment, for there are many who observe not to keep my commandments.
  50.   1 Behold, and hearken, O ye inhabitants of Zion, and all ye people of my church who are afar off, and ahear the word of the Lord which I give unto my servant Joseph Smith, Jun., and also unto my servant Martin Harris, and also unto my servant Oliver Cowdery, and also unto my servant John Whitmer, and also unto my servant Sidney Rigdon, and also unto my servant bWilliam W. Phelps, by the way of commandment unto them.
     
  51.   4 And whoso rejecteth you shall be arejected of my Father and his house; and you shall cleanse your bfeet in the secret places by the way for a testimony against them.
  52.   16 Therefore, aeternity was our covering and our brock and our salvation, as we journeyed from Haran by the way of cJershon, to come to the land of Canaan.
