Trust in God

  1. 3 The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence.
    • • •
31 As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the Lord is tried: he is a buckler to all them that trust in him.
  2. 5 He trusted in the Lord God of Israel; so that after him was none like him among all the kings of Judah, nor any that were before him.
    • • •
19 And Rab-shakeh said unto them, Speak ye now to Hezekiah, Thus saith the great king, the king of Assyria, What confidence is this wherein thou trustest?
20 Thou sayest, (but they are but vain words,) I have counsel and strength for the war. Now on whom dost thou trust, that thou rebellest against me?
21 Now, behold, thou trustest upon the staff of this bruised reed, even upon Egypt, on which if a man lean, it will go into his hand, and pierce it: so is Pharaoh king of Egypt unto all that trust on him.
22 But if ye say unto me, We trust in the Lord our God: is not that he, whose high places and whose altars Hezekiah hath taken away, and hath said to Judah and Jerusalem, Ye shall worship before this altar in Jerusalem?
    • • •
24 How then wilt thou turn away the face of one captain of the least of my master’s servants, and put thy trust on Egypt for chariots and for horsemen?
    • • •
30 Neither let Hezekiah make you trust in the Lord, saying, The Lord will surely deliver us, and this city shall not be delivered into the hand of the king of Assyria.
  3. 10 Thus shall ye speak to Hezekiah king of Judah, saying, Let not thy God in whom thou trustest deceive thee, saying, Jerusalem shall not be delivered into the hand of the king of Assyria.
  4. 20 And they were helped against them, and the Hagarites were delivered into their hand, and all that were with them: for they cried to God in the battle, and he was intreated of them; because they put their trust in him.
  5. 10 Thus saith Sennacherib king of Assyria, Whereon do ye trust, that ye abide in the siege in Jerusalem?
  6. 15 Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him.
  7. 14 Although thou sayest thou shalt not see him, yet judgment is before him; therefore trust thou in him.
  8. 12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.
  9. 5 Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the Lord.
  10. 11 But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.
  11. 1 O Lord my God, in thee do I put my trust: save me from all them that persecute me, and deliver me:
  12. 10 And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, Lord, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.
  13. 1 In the Lord put I my trust: How say ye to my soul, Flee as a bird to your mountain?
  14. 5 But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.
  15. 1 Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust.
  16. 7 Shew thy marvellous lovingkindness, O thou that savest by thy right hand them which put their trust in thee from those that rise up against them.
  17. 2 The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.
    • • •
30 As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the Lord is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him.
  18. 7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.
  19. 7 For the king trusteth in the Lord, and through the mercy of the most High he shall not be moved.
  20. 4 Our fathers trusted in thee: they trusted, and thou didst deliver them.
5 They cried unto thee, and were delivered: they trusted in thee, and were not confounded.
    • • •
8 He trusted on the Lord that he would deliver him: let him deliver him, seeing he delighted in him.
  21. 2 O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me.
    • • •
20 O keep my soul, and deliver me: let me not be ashamed; for I put my trust in thee.
  22. 1 Judge me, O Lord; for I have walked in mine integrity: I have trusted also in the Lord; therefore I shall not slide.
  23. 7 The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.
  24. 1 In thee, O Lord, do I put my trust; let me never be ashamed: deliver me in thy righteousness.
    • • •
6 I have hated them that regard lying vanities: but I trust in the Lord.
    • • •
14 But I trusted in thee, O Lord: I said, Thou art my God.
    • • •
19 Oh how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee; which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee before the sons of men!
  25. 10 Many sorrows shall be to the wicked: but he that trusteth in the Lord, mercy shall compass him about.
  26. 21 For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name.
  27. 8 O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
    • • •
22 The Lord redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate.
  28. 7 How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.
  29. 3 Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
    • • •
5 Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
    • • •
40 And the Lord shall help them, and deliver them: he shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in him.
  30. 3 And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord.
4 Blessed is that man that maketh the Lord his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.
  31. 9 Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me.
  32. 6 For I will not trust in my bow, neither shall my sword save me.
  33. 6 They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches;
  34. 7 Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness.
8 But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever.
  35. 23 But thou, O God, shalt bring them down into the pit of destruction: bloody and deceitful men shall not live out half their days; but I will trust in thee.
  36. 3 What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.
4 In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.
    • • •
11 In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me.
  37. 1 Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast.
  38. 4 I will abide in thy tabernacle for ever: I will trust in the covert of thy wings. Selah.
  39. 8 Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.
    • • •
10 Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart upon them.
  40. 10 The righteous shall be glad in the Lord, and shall trust in him; and all the upright in heart shall glory.
  41. 1 In thee, O Lord, do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion.
    • • •
5 For thou art my hope, O Lord God: thou art my trust from my youth.
  42. 28 But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord God, that I may declare all thy works.
  43. 22 Because they believed not in God, and trusted not in his salvation:
  44. 12 O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.
  45. 2 Preserve my soul; for I am holy: O thou my God, save thy servant that trusteth in thee.
  46. 2 I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
    • • •
4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
  47. 7 He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord.
  48. 8 They that make them are like unto them; so is every one that trusteth in them.
9 O Israel, trust thou in the Lord: he is their help and their shield.
10 O house of Aaron, trust in the Lord: he is their help and their shield.
11 Ye that fear the Lord, trust in the Lord: he is their help and their shield.
  49. 8 It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.
9 It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in princes.
  50. 42 So shall I have wherewith to answer him that reproacheth me: for I trust in thy word.
  51. 1 They that trust in the Lord shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth for ever.
  52. 18 They that make them are like unto them: so is every one that trusteth in them.
  53. 8 But mine eyes are unto thee, O God the Lord: in thee is my trust; leave not my soul destitute.
  54. 8 Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee.
  55. 2 My goodness, and my fortress; my high tower, and my deliverer; my shield, and he in whom I trust; who subdueth my people under me.
  56. 3 Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help.
  57. 5 ¶ Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
  58. 28 He that trusteth in his riches shall fall: but the righteous shall flourish as a branch.
  59. 20 He that handleth a matter wisely shall find good: and whoso trusteth in the Lord, happy is he.
  60. 19 That thy trust may be in the Lord, I have made known to thee this day, even to thee.
  61. 25 He that is of a proud heart stirreth up strife: but he that putteth his trust in the Lord shall be made fat.
26 He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.
  62. 25 The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe.
  63. 5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.
  64. 2 Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the Lord JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.
  65. 32 What shall one then answer the messengers of the nation? That the Lord hath founded Zion, and the poor of his people shall trust in it.
  66. 3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
4 Trust ye in the Lord for ever: for in the Lord JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:
  67. 4 ¶ And Rabshakeh said unto them, Say ye now to Hezekiah, Thus saith the great king, the king of Assyria, What confidence is this wherein thou trustest?
5 I say, sayest thou, (but they are but vain words) I have counsel and strength for war: now on whom dost thou trust, that thou rebellest against me?
6 Lo, thou trustest in the staff of this broken reed, on Egypt; whereon if a man lean, it will go into his hand, and pierce it: so is Pharaoh king of Egypt to all that trust in him.
7 But if thou say to me, We trust in the Lord our God: is it not he, whose high places and whose altars Hezekiah hath taken away, and said to Judah and to Jerusalem, Ye shall worship before this altar?
    • • •
9 How then wilt thou turn away the face of one captain of the least of my master’s servants, and put thy trust on Egypt for chariots and for horsemen?
    • • •
15 Neither let Hezekiah make you trust in the Lord, saying, The Lord will surely deliver us: this city shall not be delivered into the hand of the king of Assyria.
  68. 10 Thus shall ye speak to Hezekiah king of Judah, saying, Let not thy God, in whom thou trustest, deceive thee, saying, Jerusalem shall not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria.
  69. 10 ¶ Who is among you that feareth the Lord, that obeyeth the voice of his servant, that walketh in darkness, and hath no light? let him trust in the name of the Lord, and stay upon his God.
  70. 5 My righteousness is near; my salvation is gone forth, and mine arms shall judge the people; the isles shall wait upon me, and on mine arm shall they trust.
  71. 13 ¶ When thou criest, let thy companies deliver thee; but the wind shall carry them all away; vanity shall take them: but he that putteth his trust in me shall possess the land, and shall inherit my holy mountain;
  72. 5 ¶ Thus saith the Lord; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the Lord.
    • • •
7 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is.
  73. 18 For I will surely deliver thee, and thou shalt not fall by the sword, but thy life shall be for a prey unto thee: because thou hast put thy trust in me, saith the Lord.
  74. 11 Leave thy fatherless children, I will preserve them alive; and let thy widows trust in me.
  75. 28 Then Nebuchadnezzar spake, and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, who hath sent his angel, and delivered his servants that trusted in him, and have changed the king’s word, and yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God.
  76. 7 The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.
  77. 2 She obeyed not the voice; she received not correction; she trusted not in the Lord; she drew not near to her God.
    • • •
12 I will also leave in the midst of thee an afflicted and poor people, and they shall trust in the name of the Lord.
  78. 21 And in his name shall the Gentiles trust.
  79. 43 He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God.
  80. 21 But we trusted that it had been he which should have redeemed Israel: and beside all this, to day is the third day since these things were done.
  81. 12 And again, Esaias saith, There shall be a root of Jesse, and he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him shall the Gentiles trust.
  82. 9 But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead:
    10 Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us;
    • • •
    13 For we write none other things unto you, than what ye read or acknowledge; and I trust ye shall acknowledge even to the end;
  83. 4 And such trust have we through Christ to God-ward:
  84. 12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.
13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
  85. 19 But I trust in the Lord Jesus to send Timotheus shortly unto you, that I also may be of good comfort, when I know your state.
    • • •
24 But I trust in the Lord that I also myself shall come shortly.
  86. 10 For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.
  87. 5 Now she that is a widow indeed, and desolate, trusteth in God, and continueth in supplications and prayers night and day.
  88. 13 And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the children which God hath given me.
  89. 5 For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands:
  90. 19 And when I desire to rejoice, my heart groaneth because of my sins; nevertheless, I know in whom I have trusted.
    • • •
34 O Lord, I have trusted in thee, and I will trust in thee forever. I will not put my trust in the arm of flesh; for I know that cursed is he that putteth his trust in the arm of flesh. Yea, cursed is he that putteth his trust in man or maketh flesh his arm.
  91. 5 My righteousness is near; my salvation is gone forth, and mine arm shall judge the people. The isles shall wait upon me, and on mine arm shall they trust.
  92. 2 Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid; for the Lord Jehovah is my strength and my song; he also has become my salvation.
  93. 32 What shall then answer the messengers of the nations? That the Lord hath founded Zion, and the poor of his people shall trust in it.
  94. 31 Cursed is he that putteth his trust in man, or maketh flesh his arm, or shall hearken unto the precepts of men, save their precepts shall be given by the power of the Holy Ghost.
  95. 25 Wherefore, the people of Nephi did fortify against them with their arms, and with all their might, trusting in the God and rock of their salvation; wherefore, they became as yet, conquerors of their enemies.
  96. 6 I say unto you, if ye have come to a knowledge of the goodness of God, and his matchless power, and his wisdom, and his patience, and his long-suffering towards the children of men; and also, the atonement which has been prepared from the foundation of the world, that thereby salvation might come to him that should put his trust in the Lord, and should be diligent in keeping his commandments, and continue in the faith even unto the end of his life, I mean the life of the mortal body—
  97. 19 Therefore, lift up your heads, and rejoice, and put your trust in God, in that God who was the God of Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob; and also, that God who brought the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt, and caused that they should walk through the Red Sea on dry ground, and fed them with manna that they might not perish in the wilderness; and many more things did he do for them.
    • • •
33 But if ye will turn to the Lord with full purpose of heart, and put your trust in him, and serve him with all diligence of mind, if ye do this, he will, according to his own will and pleasure, deliver you out of bondage.
  98. 19 And now I, Zeniff, after having told all these things unto my people concerning the Lamanites, I did stimulate them to go to battle with their might, putting their trust in the Lord; therefore, we did contend with them, face to face.
  99. 22 Nevertheless—whosoever putteth his trust in him the same shall be lifted up at the last day. Yea, and thus it was with this people.
  100. 20 But behold, he did deliver them because they did humble themselves before him; and because they cried mightily unto him he did deliver them out of bondage; and thus doth the Lord work with his power in all cases among the children of men, extending the arm of mercy towards them that put their trust in him.
  101. 13 And behold, he preached the word unto your fathers, and a mighty change was also wrought in their hearts, and they humbled themselves and put their trust in the true and living God. And behold, they were faithful until the end; therefore they were saved.
  102. 5 And I trust, according to the Spirit of God which is in me, that I shall also have joy over you; nevertheless I do not desire that my joy over you should come by the cause of so much afflictions and sorrow which I have had for the brethren at Zarahemla, for behold, my joy cometh over them after wading through much affliction and sorrow.
6 But behold, I trust that ye are not in a state of so much unbelief as were your brethren; I trust that ye are not lifted up in the pride of your hearts; yea, I trust that ye have not set your hearts upon riches and the vain things of the world; yea, I trust that you do not worship idols, but that ye do worship the true and the living God, and that ye look forward for the remission of your sins, with an everlasting faith, which is to come.
  103. 13 And it came to pass when they had arrived in the borders of the land of the Lamanites, that they separated themselves and departed one from another, trusting in the Lord that they should meet again at the close of their harvest; for they supposed that great was the work which they had undertaken.
  104. 23 Now we see that Ammon could not be slain, for the Lord had said unto Mosiah, his father: I will spare him, and it shall be unto him according to thy faith—therefore, Mosiah trusted him unto the Lord.
  105. 3 And now, O my son Helaman, behold, thou art in thy youth, and therefore, I beseech of thee that thou wilt hear my words and learn of me; for I do know that whosoever shall put their trust in God shall be supported in their trials, and their troubles, and their afflictions, and shall be lifted up at the last day.
    • • •
27 And I have been supported under trials and troubles of every kind, yea, and in all manner of afflictions; yea, God has delivered me from prison, and from bonds, and from death; yea, and I do put my trust in him, and he will still deliver me.
  106. 2 And now, my son, I trust that I shall have great joy in you, because of your steadiness and your faithfulness unto God; for as you have commenced in your youth to look to the Lord your God, even so I hope that you will continue in keeping his commandments; for blessed is he that endureth to the end.
    • • •
5 And now my son, Shiblon, I would that ye should remember, that as much as ye shall put your trust in God even so much ye shall be delivered out of your trials, and your troubles, and your afflictions, and ye shall be lifted up at the last day.
  107. 27 Now this was the faith of these of whom I have spoken; they are young, and their minds are firm, and they do put their trust in God continually.
    • • •
36 Now it came to pass that when I, Helaman, had heard these words of Gid, I was filled with exceeding joy because of the goodness of God in preserving us, that we might not all perish; yea, and I trust that the souls of them who have been slain have entered into the rest of their God.
  108. 33 But behold, we trust in our God who has given us victory over those lands, insomuch that we have obtained those cities and those lands, which were our own.
    • • •
37 But, behold, it mattereth not—we trust God will deliver us, notwithstanding the weakness of our armies, yea, and deliver us out of the hands of our enemies.
  109. 13 But behold he doth not command us that we shall subject ourselves to our enemies, but that we should put our trust in him, and he will deliver us.
  110. 1 And thus we can behold how false, and also the unsteadiness of the hearts of the children of men; yea, we can see that the Lord in his great infinite goodness doth bless and prosper those who put their trust in him.
  111. 20 And the reason why he ceaseth to do miracles among the children of men is because that they dwindle in unbelief, and depart from the right way, and know not the God in whom they should trust.
  112. 22 But behold, my son, I recommend thee unto God, and I trust in Christ that thou wilt be saved; and I pray unto God that he will spare thy life, to witness the return of his people unto him, or their utter destruction; for I know that they must perish except they repent and return unto him.
    • • •
24 And if it so be that they perish, we know that many of our brethren have deserted over unto the Lamanites, and many more will also desert over unto them; wherefore, write somewhat a few things, if thou art spared and I shall perish and not see thee; but I trust that I may see thee soon; for I have sacred records that I would deliver up unto thee.
  113. 12 And now, verily, verily, I say unto thee, put your trust in that Spirit which leadeth to do good—yea, to do justly, to walk humbly, to judge righteously; and this is my Spirit.
  114. 30 And thou shalt do it with all humility, trusting in me, reviling not against revilers.
  115. 116 Let him trust in me and he shall not be confounded; and a hair of his head shall not fall to the ground unnoticed.
  116. 87 Therefore, let my servant William put his trust in me, and cease to fear concerning his family, because of the sickness of the land. If ye love me, keep my commandments; and the sickness of the land shall redound to your glory.
