For a man

  1.   19 And she made him sleep upon her knees; and she called for a man, and she caused him to shave off the seven locks of his head; and she began to afflict him, and his strength went from him.
  2.   19 For if a man find his enemy, will he let him go well away? wherefore the Lord reward thee good for that thou hast done unto me this day.
  3.   21 O that one might plead for a man with God, as a man pleadeth for his neighbour!
  4.   3 It is an honour for a man to cease from strife: but every fool will be meddling.
  5.   16 For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.
  6.   24 ¶ There is nothing better for a man, than that he should eat and drink, and that he should make his soul enjoy good in his labour. This also I saw, that it was from the hand of God.
  7.   12 I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life.
  8.   4 ¶ Again, I considered all travail, and every right work, that for this a man is envied of his neighbour. This is also vanity and vexation of spirit.
  9.   5 It is better to hear the rebuke of the wise, than for a man to hear the song of fools.
  10.   15 Then shall it be for a man to burn: for he will take thereof, and warm himself; yea, he kindleth it, and baketh bread; yea, he maketh a god, and worshippeth it; he maketh it a graven image, and falleth down thereto.
  11.   5 Is it such a fast that I have chosen? a day for a man to afflict his soul? is it to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? wilt thou call this a fast, and an acceptable day to the Lord?
  12.   5 ¶ For as a young man marrieth a virgin, so shall thy sons marry thee: and as the bridegroom rejoiceth over the bride, so shall thy God rejoice over thee.
  13.   27 It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth.
  14.   30 And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.
  15.   9 And as troops of robbers wait for a man, so the company of priests murder in the way by consent: for they commit lewdness.
  16.   3 ¶ The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause?
          •  •  •
24 And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
  17.   2 ¶ And the Pharisees came to him, and asked him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife? tempting him.
          •  •  •
25 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
  18.   25 For it is easier for a camel to go through a needle’s eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
  19.   28 And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.
  20.   24 For a certain man named Demetrius, a silversmith, which made silver shrines for Diana, brought no small gain unto the craftsmen;
  21.   7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.
  22.   24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?
  23.   1 Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman.
          •  •  •
26 I suppose therefore that this is good for the present distress, I say, that it is good for a man so to be.
  24.   7 For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man.
  25.   4 How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.
  26.   3 For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.
          •  •  •
7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
  27.   9 Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,
  28.   5 (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)
  29.   1 And now I, Nephi, cannot write all the things which were taught among my people; neither am I mighty in writing, like unto speaking; for when a man speaketh by the power of the Holy Ghost the power of the Holy Ghost carrieth it unto the hearts of the children of men.
  30.   1 And it came to pass in the commencement of the fifth year of their reign there began to be a contention among the people; for a certain man, being called Amlici, he being a very cunning man, yea, a wise man as to the wisdom of the world, he being after the order of the man that slew Gideon by the sword, who was executed according to the law—
  31.   13 And now, because ye are compelled to be humble blessed are ye; for a man sometimes, if he is compelled to be humble, seeketh repentance; and now surely, whosoever repenteth shall find mercy; and he that findeth mercy and endureth to the end the same shall be saved.

18 Now I ask, is this faith? Behold, I say unto you, Nay; for if a man knoweth a thing he hath no cause to believe, for he knoweth it.
  32.   4 For although a man may have many revelations, and have power to do many mighty works, yet if he boasts in his own strength, and sets at naught the counsels of God, and follows after the dictates of his own will and carnal desires, he must fall and incur the vengeance of a just God upon him.
  33.   7 Ask him to shake hands with you, but he will not move, because it is contrary to the order of heaven for a just man to deceive; but he will still deliver his message.
  34.   6 It is impossible for a man to be saved in ignorance.
