"Who can"

  1.   10 Who can count the dust of Jacob, and the number of the fourth part of Israel? Let me die the death of the righteous, and let my last end be like his!
  2.   2 A people great and tall, the children of the Anakims, whom thou knowest, and of whom thou hast heard say, Who can stand before the children of Anak!
  3.   9 And David said to Abishai, Destroy him not: for who can stretch forth his hand against the Lord’s anointed, and be guiltless?
  4.   22 And he said, While the child was yet alive, I fasted and wept: for I said, Who can tell whether God will be gracious to me, that the child may live?
  5.   10 Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people: for who can judge this thy people, that is so great?
  6.   2 If we assay to commune with thee, wilt thou be grieved? but who can withhold himself from speaking?
  7.   12 Behold, he taketh away, who can hinder him? who will say unto him, What doest thou?
  8.   10 If he cut off, and shut up, or gather together, then who can hinder him?
  9.   4 Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? not one.
  10.   13 But he is in one mind, and who can turn him? and what his soul desireth, even that he doeth.
  11.   14 Lo, these are parts of his ways: but how little a portion is heard of him? but the thunder of his power who can understand?
  12.   29 When he giveth quietness, who then can make trouble? and when he hideth his face, who then can behold him? whether it be done against a nation, or against a man only:
  13.   23 Who hath enjoined him his way? or who can say, Thou hast wrought iniquity?
  14.   37 Who can number the clouds in wisdom? or who can stay the bottles of heaven,
  15.   13 Who can discover the face of his garment? or who can come to him with his double bridle?
14 Who can open the doors of his face? his teeth are terrible round about.
  16.   12 Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults.
  17.   2 Who can utter the mighty acts of the Lord? who can shew forth all his praise?
  18.   17 He casteth forth his ice like morsels: who can stand before his cold?
  19.   14 The spirit of a man will sustain his infirmity; but a wounded spirit who can bear?
  20.   6 Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find?
          •  •  •
9 Who can say, I have made my heart clean, I am pure from my sin?
  21.   10 ¶ Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.
  22.   25 For who can eat, or who else can hasten hereunto, more than I?
  23.   12 For who knoweth what is good for man in this life, all the days of his vain life which he spendeth as a shadow? for who can tell a man what shall be after him under the sun?
  24.   13 Consider the work of God: for who can make that straight, which he hath made crooked?
          •  •  •
24 That which is far off, and exceeding deep, who can find it out?
  25.   7 For he knoweth not that which shall be: for who can tell him when it shall be?
  26.   14 A fool also is full of words: a man cannot tell what shall be; and what shall be after him, who can tell him?
  27.   24 A wild ass used to the wilderness, that snuffeth up the wind at her pleasure; in her occasion who can turn her away? all they that seek her will not weary themselves; in her month they shall find her.
  28.   9 ¶ The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
  29.   13 What thing shall I take to witness for thee? what thing shall I liken to thee, O daughter of Jerusalem? what shall I equal to thee, that I may comfort thee, O virgin daughter of Zion? for thy breach is great like the sea: who can heal thee?
  30.   11 And the Lord shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp is very great: for he is strong that executeth his word: for the day of the Lord is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?
  31.   8 The lion hath roared, who will not fear? the Lord God hath spoken, who can but prophesy?
  32.   9 Who can tell if God will turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not?
  33.   6 Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him.
  34.   25 When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved?
  35.   7 Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only?
  36.   26 And they were astonished out of measure, saying among themselves, Who then can be saved?
  37.   21 And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, Who is this which speaketh blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone?
  38.   26 And they that heard it said, Who then can be saved?
  39.   60 Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it?
  40.   31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
  41.   2 Who can have compassion on the ignorant, and on them that are out of the way; for that he himself also is compassed with infirmity.
  42.   9 Yea, the kings of the Gentiles shall be nursing fathers unto them, and their queens shall become nursing mothers; wherefore, the promises of the Lord are great unto the Gentiles, for he hath spoken it, and who can dispute?
  43.   40 O, all ye old men, and also ye young men, and you little children who can understand my words, for I have spoken plainly unto you that ye might understand, I pray that ye should awake to a remembrance of the awful situation of those that have fallen into transgression.
  44.   39 And now if ye are not the sheep of the good shepherd, of what fold are ye? Behold, I say unto you, that the devil is your shepherd, and ye are of his fold; and now, who can deny this? Behold, I say unto you, whosoever denieth this is a liar and a child of the devil.
  45.   16 Therefore, let us glory, yea, we will glory in the Lord; yea, we will rejoice, for our joy is full; yea, we will praise our God forever. Behold, who can glory too much in the Lord? Yea, who can say too much of his great power, and of his mercy, and of his long-suffering towards the children of men? Behold, I say unto you, I cannot say the smallest part which I feel.
  46.   15 And now, O all ye that have imagined up unto yourselves a god who can do no miracles, I would ask of you, have all these things passed, of which I have spoken? Has the end come yet? Behold I say unto you, Nay; and God has not ceased to be a God of miracles.
16 Behold, are not the things that God hath wrought marvelous in our eyes? Yea, and who can comprehend the marvelous works of God?
          •  •  •
26 And now, behold, who can stand against the works of the Lord? Who can deny his sayings? Who will rise up against the almighty power of the Lord? Who will despise the works of the Lord? Who will despise the children of Christ? Behold, all ye who are despisers of the works of the Lord, for ye shall wonder and perish.
  47.   18 And there went a fear of Shiz throughout all the land; yea, a cry went forth throughout the land—Who can stand before the army of Shiz? Behold, he sweepeth the earth before him!
  48.   3 His purposes fail not, neither are there any who can stay his hand.
  49.   3 Now, in relation to this matter, it would be very difficult for one recorder to be present at all times, and to do all the business. To obviate this difficulty, there can be a recorder appointed in each ward of the city, who is well qualified for taking accurate minutes; and let him be very particular and precise in taking the whole proceedings, certifying in his record that he saw with his eyes, and heard with his ears, giving the date, and names, and so forth, and the history of the whole transaction; naming also some three individuals that are present, if there be any present, who can at any time when called upon certify to the same, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.

9 It may seem to some to be a very bold doctrine that we talk of—a power which records or binds on earth and binds in heaven. Nevertheless, in all ages of the world, whenever the Lord has given a dispensation of the priesthood to any man by actual revelation, or any set of men, this power has always been given. Hence, whatsoever those men did in authority, in the name of the Lord, and did it truly and faithfully, and kept a proper and faithful record of the same, it became a law on earth and in heaven, and could not be annulled, according to the decrees of the great Jehovah. This is a faithful saying. Who can hear it?

24 Behold, the great day of the Lord is at hand; and who can abide the day of his coming, and who can stand when he appeareth? For he is like a refiner’s fire, and like fuller’s soap; and he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver, and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the Lord an offering in righteousness. Let us, therefore, as a church and a people, and as Latter-day Saints, offer unto the Lord an offering in righteousness; and let us present in his holy temple, when it is finished, a book containing the records of our dead, which shall be worthy of all acceptation.
