Killed the prophets

  1. 31 Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are the children of them which akilled the bprophets.
    • • •
34 ¶ Wherefore, behold, I send unto you aprophets, and wise men, and bscribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city:

37 O aJerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that bkillest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often cwould I have dgathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye ewould not!
  2. 47 Woe unto you! for ye build the sepulchres of the prophets, and your fathers killed them.
  3. 34 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which akillest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee; how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a bhen doth gather her brood under her wings, and ye would not!
  4. 3 Lord, they have akilled thy prophets, and digged down thine altars; and I am bleft alone, and they seek my life.
  5. 15 Who both akilled the Lord Jesus, and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they please not God, and are contrary to all men:
  6. 5 And they that kill the aprophets, and the saints, the depths of the earth shall bswallow them up, saith the Lord of Hosts; and cmountains shall cover them, and whirlwinds shall carry them away, and buildings shall fall upon them and crush them to pieces and grind them to powder.
  7. 14 But behold, the Jews were a astiffnecked people; and they bdespised the words of cplainness, and dkilled the prophets, and sought for things that they could not understand. Wherefore, because of their eblindness, which fblindness came by looking beyond the gmark, they must needs fall; for God hath taken away his plainness from them, and delivered unto them many things which they hcannot understand, because they desired it. And because they desired it God hath done it, that they may istumble.
  8. 33 O athat I had repented, and had not killed the prophets, and bstoned them, and cast them out. Yea, in that day ye shall say: O that we had remembered the Lord our God in the day that he gave us our riches, and then they would not have become slippery that we should lose them; for behold, our riches are gone from us.
  9. 25 And in another place they were heard to cry and mourn, saying: O that we had repented before this great and terrible day, and had not killed and stoned the prophets, and cast them out; then would our mothers and our fair daughters, and our children have been spared, and not have been buried up in that great city aMoronihah. And thus were the howlings of the people great and terrible.
  10. 36 For they akilled the prophets, and them that were sent unto them; and they have bshed innocent blood, which crieth from the ground against them.
