¶ Nevertheless among the chiefrulers also many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue:

And Crispus, the chiefruler of the synagogue, believed on the Lord with all his house; and many of the Corinthians hearing believed, and were baptized.
