Hear the word

  1.   30 And it came to pass, when he saw the earring and bracelets upon his sister’s hands, and when he heard the words of Rebekah his sister, saying, Thus spake the man unto me; that he came unto the man; and, behold, he stood by the camels at the well.

  14.   19 Now therefore, I pray thee, let my lord the king hear the words of his servant. If the Lord have stirred thee up against me, let him accept an offering: but if they be the children of men, cursed be they before the Lord; for they have driven me out this day from abiding in the inheritance of the Lord, saying, Go, serve other gods.
  15.   17 And when he was come near unto her, the woman said, Art thou Joab? And he answered, I am he. Then she said unto him, Hear the words of thine handmaid. And he answered, I do hear.

  19.   28 Then Rab-shakeh stood and cried with a loud voice in the Jews’ alanguage, and spake, saying, Hear the word of the great king, the king of Assyria:
  20.   4 It may be the Lord thy God will hear all the words of Rab-shakeh, whom the king of Assyria his master hath sent to reproach the living God; and will reprove the words which the Lord thy God hath heard: wherefore lift up thy aprayer for the bremnant that are left.
          •  •  •
      16 Lord, bow down thine ear, and hear: open, Lord, thine eyes, and see: and hear the words of Sennacherib, which hath sent him to reproach the living God.
  21.   16 And Isaiah said unto Hezekiah, Hear the word of the Lord.
  22.   11 And it came to pass, when the king had heard the awords of the book of the law, that he rent his clothes.
          •  •  •
      13 Go ye, enquire of the Lord for me, and for the people, and for all Judah, concerning the words of this book that is found: for great is the awrath of the Lord that is kindled against us, because our fathers have not hearkened unto the words of this book, to bdo according unto all that which is written concerning us.
  23.   18 Again he said, Therefore hear the word of the Lord; I saw the Lord sitting upon his throne, and all the host of heaven standing on his right hand and on his left.
  24.   19 And it came to pass, when the king had heard the words of the law, that he rent his clothes.
  25.   9 ¶ And Nehemiah, which is the aTirshatha, and Ezra the priest the scribe, and the Levites that btaught the people, said unto all the people, This day is holy unto the Lord your God; cmourn not, nor weep. For all the people dwept, when they heard the words of the law.
  26.   4 All the akings of the earth shall praise thee, O Lord, when they hear the words of thy mouth.
  27.   17 Bow down thine ear, and hear the words of the wise, and apply thine heart unto my knowledge.
  28.   10 ¶ Hear the word of the Lord, ye rulers of aSodom; give ear unto the law of our God, ye people of Gomorrah.
  29.   14 ¶ Wherefore hear the word of the Lord, ye scornful men, that rule this people which is in Jerusalem.
  30.   18 ¶ And in that aday shall the deaf hear the words of the bbook, and the ceyes of the blind shall see out of dobscurity, and out of darkness.
  31.   13 Then Rabshakeh stood, and cried with a loud voice in the Jews’ language, and said, Hear ye the words of the great king, the king of Assyria.
  32.   4 It may be the Lord thy God will hear the words of Rabshakeh, whom the king of Assyria his master hath sent to reproach the living God, and will reprove the words which the Lord thy God hath heard: wherefore lift up thy prayer for the remnant that is left.
          •  •  •
      17 Incline thine ear, O Lord, and hear; open thine eyes, O Lord, and see: and hear all the words of Sennacherib, which hath sent to areproach the living God.
  33.   5 Then said Isaiah to Hezekiah, aHear the word of the Lord of hosts:
  34.   5 ¶ Hear the word of the Lord, ye that tremble at his word; your brethren that hated you, that acast you out for my name’s sake, said, Let the Lord be bglorified: but he shall appear to your joy, and they shall be ashamed.
  35.   4 Hear ye the word of the Lord, O house of Jacob, and all the families of the house of Israel:
  36.   10 To whom shall I speak, and give awarning, that they may hear? behold, their ear is buncircumcised, and they cannot hearken: behold, the word of the Lord is unto them a reproach; they have no delight in it.
  37.   2 Stand in the gate of the Lord’s house, and proclaim there this word, and say, Hear the word of the Lord, all ye of Judah, that enter in at these gates to worship the Lord.
  38.   20 Yet hear the word of the Lord, O ye women, and let your ear receive the word of his mouth, and teach your daughters wailing, and every one her neighbour lamentation.
  39.   1 Hear ye the word which the Lord speaketh unto you, O house of Israel:
  40.   2 Hear ye the words of this covenant, and speak unto the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem;
          •  •  •
      6 Then the Lord said unto me, Proclaim all these words in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, saying, Hear ye the words of this covenant, and do them.
  41.   20 And say unto them, Hear ye the word of the Lord, ye kings of Judah, and all Judah, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, that enter in by these gates:
  42.   3 And say, Hear ye the word of the Lord, O kings of Judah, and inhabitants of Jerusalem; Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will bring evil upon this place, the which whosoever heareth, his ears shall atingle.
  43.   11 ¶ And touching the house of the king of Judah, say, Hear ye the word of the Lord;
  44.   2 And say, Hear the word of the Lord, O king of Judah, that sittest upon the throne of David, thou, and thy servants, and thy people that enter in by these gates:
          •  •  •
      29 O earth, earth, earth, hear the aword of the Lord.
  45.   5 To hearken to the words of my servants the aprophets, whom I sent unto you, both rising up early, and sending them, but ye have not hearkened;
  46.   10 ¶ Hear the word of the Lord, O ye nations, and declare it in the isles afar off, and say, He that scattered Israel will agather him, and keep him, as a shepherd doth his flock.
  47.   4 Yet hear the word of the Lord, O Zedekiah king of Judah; Thus saith the Lord of thee, Thou shalt not die by the sword:
  48.   16 Now it came to pass, when they had heard all the words, they were aafraid both one and other, and said unto Baruch, We will surely tell the king of all these words.
  49.   2 But neither he, nor his servants, nor the people of the land, did hearken unto the words of the Lord, which he spake by the prophet Jeremiah.
  50.   1 Then Shephatiah the son of Mattan, and Gedaliah the son of aPashur, and Jucal the son of Shelemiah, and bPashur the son of Malchiah, heard the words that Jeremiah had spoken unto all the people, saying,
    1.   15 And now therefore hear the word of the Lord, ye remnant of Judah; Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; If ye wholly set your afaces to enter into Egypt, and go to sojourn there;
    2.   24 Moreover Jeremiah said unto all the people, and to all the women, Hear the word of the Lord, all Judah that are in the land of aEgypt:
            •  •  •
        26 Therefore hear ye the word of the Lord, all Judah that dwell in the land of Egypt; Behold, I have asworn by my great bname, saith the Lord, that my name shall no more be named in the mouth of any man of Judah in all the land of Egypt, saying, The Lord God liveth.
    3.   17 Son of man, I have made thee a awatchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them bwarning from me.
    4.   3 And say, Ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord God; Thus saith the Lord God to the mountains, and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys; Behold, I, even I, will bring a sword upon you, and I will destroy your high places.
    5.   2 Son of man, prophesy against the aprophets of Israel that prophesy, and say thou unto them that prophesy out of their own hearts, Hear ye the word of the Lord;
    6.   35 ¶ Wherefore, O harlot, hear the word of the Lord:
    7.   47 And say to the forest of the south, Hear the word of the Lord; Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I will kindle a fire in thee, and it shall devour every green tree in thee, and every dry tree: the flaming flame shall not be quenched, and all faces from the south to the north shall be burned therein.
    8.   3 And say unto the Ammonites, Hear the word of the Lord God; Thus saith the Lord God; Because thou saidst, Aha, against my sanctuary, when it was profaned; and against the land of Israel, when it was desolate; and against the house of Judah, when they went into captivity;
    9.   7 So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a awatchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me.
    10.   7 ¶ Therefore, ye shepherds, hear the word of the Lord;
            •  •  •
        9 Therefore, O ye shepherds, hear the word of the Lord;
    11.   1 Also, thou son of man, prophesy unto the amountains of Israel, and say, Ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord:
            •  •  •
        4 Therefore, ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord God; Thus saith the Lord God to the mountains, and to the hills, to the arivers, and to the valleys, to the desolate bwastes, and to the cities that are forsaken, which became a prey and cderision to the residue of the heathen that are round about;
    12.   4 Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the Lord.
    13.   1 Hear the word of the Lord, ye children of Israel: for the Lord hath a acontroversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no btruth, nor mercy, nor cknowledge of God in the land.
    14.   16 ¶ Now therefore hear thou the word of the Lord: Thou sayest, Prophesy not against Israel, and drop not thy word against the house of Isaac.
    15.   11 ¶ Behold, the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a afamine of bread, nor a bthirst for water, but of hearing the cwords of the Lord:
    16.   7 Should ye not hear the words which the Lord hath cried by the aformer prophets, when Jerusalem was inhabited and in prosperity, and the cities thereof round about her, when men inhabited the south and the plain?
    17.   19 When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and aunderstandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and bcatcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.
        20 But he that received the seed into astony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it;
            •  •  •
        22 He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this aworld, and the bdeceitfulness of criches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.
        23 But he that received seed into the good ground is he that aheareth the word, and bunderstandeth it; which also beareth cfruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.
    18.   16 And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately areceive it with gladness;
            •  •  •
        18 And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word,
            •  •  •
        20 And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred.
    19.   36 As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only abelieve.
    20.   1 And it came to pass, that, as the people pressed upon him to hear the word of God, he stood by the lake of Gennesaret,
    21.   13 They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of atemptation fall away.
            •  •  •
        15 But that on the good ground are they, which in an ahonest and good bheart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth cfruit with patience.
            •  •  •
        21 And he answered and said unto them, My amother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and bdo it.
    22.   28 But he said, Yea rather, ablessed are they that hear the word of God, and bkeep it.
    23.   4 Howbeit many of them which heard the word believed; and the number of the men was about afive thousand.
    24.   44 ¶ While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.
    25.   7 Which was with the deputy of the country, Sergius Paulus, a aprudent man; who called for Barnabas and Saul, and desired to hear the word of God.
            •  •  •
        44 ¶ And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God.
    26.   7 And when there had been much adisputing, bPeter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the cGentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the dgospel, and believe.
    27.   10 And this continued by the space of two years; so that all they which dwelt in Asia heard the word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews and Greeks.
    28.   17 So then afaith cometh by bhearing, and hearing by the word of God.
    29.   13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the agospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were bsealed with that holy Spirit of cpromise,
    30.   23 For if any be a ahearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a bglass:
    31.   3 aBlessed is he that breadeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the ctime is at hand.
    32.   18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall aadd unto these things, God shall add unto him the bplagues that are written in this book:
    33.   28 And it came to pass that Laman was angry with me, and also with my father; and also was Lemuel, for he hearkened unto the words of Laman. Wherefore Laman and Lemuel did speak many ahard words unto us, their younger brothers, and they did smite us even with a rod.
    34.   9 How is it that ye have not hearkened unto the word of the Lord?
    35.   17 And it came to pass after I, Nephi, having heard all the awords of my father, concerning the things which he saw in a bvision, and also the things which he spake by the power of the Holy Ghost, which power he received by faith on the Son of God—and the Son of God was the cMessiah who should come—I, Nephi, was ddesirous also that I might see, and hear, and know of these things, by the power of the eHoly Ghost, which is the fgift of God unto gall those who diligently seek him, as well in times of hold as in the time that he should manifest himself unto the children of men.
    36.   24 And I said unto them that it was the aword of God; and whoso would hearken unto the word of God, and would bhold fast unto it, they would never perish; neither could the ctemptations and the fiery ddarts of the eadversary overpower them unto blindness, to lead them away to destruction.
    37.   23 And it came to pass that I, Nephi, spake unto them, saying: Do ye believe that our fathers, who were the children of Israel, would have been led away out of the hands of the aEgyptians if they had not hearkened unto the words of the Lord?
    38.   24 Wherefore I spake unto them, saying: Hear ye the words of the prophet, ye who are a aremnant of the house of Israel, a bbranch who have been broken off; chear ye the words of the prophet, which were written unto all the house of Israel, and liken them unto yourselves, that ye may have hope as well as your brethren from whom ye have been broken off; for after this manner has the prophet written.
    39.   14 Awake! and arise from the dust, and hear the words of a trembling aparent, whose limbs ye must soon lay down in the cold and silent bgrave, from whence no traveler can creturn; a few more ddays and I go the eway of all the earth.
    40.   23 Wherefore, because of this covenant thou art ablessed; for thy seed shall not be destroyed, for they shall bhearken unto the words of the book.
            •  •  •
        25 And now, blessed art thou, Joseph. Behold, thou art little; wherefore hearken unto the words of thy brother, Nephi, and it shall be done unto thee even according to the words which I have spoken. Remember the words of thy dying father. Amen.
    41.   8 But behold, the righteous that hearken unto the words of the prophets, and destroy them not, but look forward unto Christ with asteadfastness for the signs which are given, notwithstanding all bpersecution—behold, they are they which shall cnot perish.
    42.   29 aAnd in that day shall the bdeaf hear the words of the book, and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity and out of darkness.
    43.   8 And it supposeth me that they have come up hither to hear the pleasing aword of God, yea, the word which healeth the wounded soul.
            •  •  •
        27 Wherefore, my brethren, hear me, and hearken to the word of the Lord: For there shall not any aman among you have save it be bone cwife; and concubines he shall have none;
    44.   2 Hearken, O ye house of Israel, and hear the words of me, a prophet of the Lord.
    45.   12 And it came to pass that by so doing they kept them from being adestroyed upon the face of the land; for they did bprick their hearts with the word, ccontinually stirring them up unto repentance.
    46.   18 And now, it came to pass that Mosiah went and did as his father had commanded him, and proclaimed unto all the people who were in the land of Zarahemla that thereby they might gather themselves together, to go up to the atemple to hear the words which his father should speak unto them.
    47.   1 And it came to pass that after Mosiah had done as his father had commanded him, and had made a proclamation throughout all the land, that the people agathered themselves together throughout all the land, that they might go up to the btemple to chear the dwords which king Benjamin should speak unto them.
            •  •  •
        6 And they pitched their tents round about the temple, every man having his atent with the door thereof towards the temple, that thereby they might remain in their tents and hear the words which king Benjamin should speak unto them;
        7 For the multitude being so great that king Benjamin could not teach them all within the walls of the temple, therefore he caused a atower to be erected, that thereby his people might hear the words which he should speak unto them.
    48.   3 And he said unto me: Awake, and hear the words which I shall tell thee; for behold, I am come to declare unto you the aglad tidings of great bjoy.
    49.   14 And now, it came to pass that after Limhi had heard the words of Ammon, he was exceedingly aglad, and said: Now, I know of a surety that my brethren who were in the land of Zarahemla are byet alive. And now, I will rejoice; and on the morrow I will cause that my people shall rejoice also.
            •  •  •
        17 And now, it came to pass on the morrow that king Limhi sent a proclamation among all his people, that thereby they might gather themselves together to the atemple, to hear the words which he should speak unto them.
    50.   27 Now when king Noah had heard of the words which Abinadi had spoken unto the people, he was also wroth; and he said: aWho is Abinadi, that I and my people should be judged of him, or bwho is the Lord, that shall bring upon my people such great affliction?
            •  •  •
        29 Now the eyes of the people were ablinded; therefore they bhardened their hearts against the words of Abinadi, and they sought from that time forward to take him. And king Noah hardened his heart against the word of the Lord, and he did not repent of his evil doings.
      1.   11 Behold I say unto you, that whosoever has heard the words of the aprophets, yea, all the holy prophets who have prophesied concerning the coming of the Lord—I say unto you, that all those who have hearkened unto their words, and believed that the Lord would redeem his people, and have looked forward to that day for a remission of their sins, I say unto you, that these are his seed, or they are the heirs of the bkingdom of God.
      2.   7 And it came to pass
              •  •  •
          32 But behold, it came to pass that the king, having discovered a movement among the people, sent his servants to watch them. Therefore on the day that they were assembling themselves together to hear the word of the Lord they were discovered unto the king.
      3.   21 For are not the words of Abinadi afulfilled, which he prophesied against us—and all this because we would not hearken unto the words of the Lord, and turn from our iniquities?
      4.   9 And it came to pass that the king hearkened unto the words of Gideon.
      5.   20 Now this was done because there were so many people that they could not all be governed by one teacher; neither could they all hear the word of God in one assembly;
      6.   26 And when the priests left their alabor to impart the word of God unto the people, the people also left their labors to hear the word of God. And when the priest had imparted unto them the word of God they all returned again diligently unto their labors; and the priest, not esteeming himself above his hearers, for the preacher was no better than the hearer, neither was the teacher any better than the learner; and thus they were all equal, and they did all labor, every man baccording to his strength.
      7.   5 Now I would that ye should understand that the word of God was liberal unto all, that none were deprived of the privilege of assembling themselves together to hear the word of God.
      8.   9 Now Satan had gotten great ahold upon the hearts of the people of the city of Ammonihah; therefore they would not hearken unto the words of Alma.
      9.   13 Then if our hearts have been hardened, yea, if we have hardened our hearts against the word, insomuch that it has not been found in us, then will our state be awful, for then we shall be condemned.
      10.   10 And it came to pass as he began to expound these things unto them they were angry with him, and began to amock him; and they would not hear the words which he spake.
      11.   6 And now when Alma heard this, he turned him about, his face immediately towards him, and he beheld with great joy; for he beheld that their aafflictions had truly bhumbled them, and that they were in a cpreparation to hear the word.
      12.   3 And it came to pass that after the more popular part of the Zoramites had consulted together concerning the words which had been preached unto them, they were angry because of the word, for it did destroy their acraft; therefore they would not hearken unto the words.
      13.   11 And the angel spake more things unto me, which were heard by my brethren, but I did anot hear them; for when I heard the words—If thou wilt be destroyed of thyself, seek no more to destroy the church of God—I was struck with such great fear and amazement lest perhaps I should be destroyed, that I fell to the earth and I did hear no more.
      14.   16 And now, my son, this was the ministry unto which ye were called, to declare these glad tidings unto this people, to prepare their minds; or rather that salvation might come unto them, that they may prepare the minds of their achildren to hear the word at the time of his coming.
      15.   1 And it came to pass that as many as would not hearken to the awords of Helaman and his brethren were gathered together against their brethren.
      16.   32 Now behold, the people who were in the land Bountiful, or rather Moroni, feared that they would hearken to the words of Morianton and unite with his people, and thus he would obtain possession of those parts of the land, which would lay a foundation for serious consequences among the people of Nephi, yea, which aconsequences would lead to the overthrow of their bliberty.
      17.   3 And it came to pass that they did endeavor to stir up the Lamanites to awar against the Nephites; but behold, the Lamanites were bexceedingly afraid, insomuch that they would not hearken to the words of those dissenters.
      18.   7 Oh, that I could have had my days in the days when my father Nephi first came out of the land of Jerusalem, that I could have ajoyed with him in the promised land; then were his people easy to be entreated, bfirm to keep the commandments of God, and slow to be led to do iniquity; and they were quick to hearken unto the words of the Lord—
      19.   13 Now behold, anotwithstanding that great miracle which Nephi had done in telling them concerning the death of the chief judge, they did harden their hearts and did not hearken unto the words of the Lord.
      20.   4 O how afoolish, and how vain, and how evil, and devilish, and how bquick to do iniquity, and how slow to do good, are the children of men; yea, how quick to hearken unto the words of the evil one, and to set their chearts upon the vain things of the world!
      21.   21 Behold ye, the people of this great city, and hearken unto my words; yea, hearken unto the words which the Lord saith; for behold, he saith that ye are acursed because of your riches, and also are your riches cursed because ye have set your hearts upon them, and have not bhearkened unto the words of him who gave them unto you.
      22.   1 And now, it came to pass that there were many who heard the words of Samuel, the Lamanite, which he spake upon the awalls of the city. And as many as believed on his word went forth and sought for Nephi; and when they had come forth and found him they confessed unto him their sins and denied not, desiring that they might be bbaptized unto the Lord.
      23.   37 And the multitude heard not the words which he spake, therefore they did not bear record; but the Disciples bare record that he gave them apower to give the bHoly Ghost. And I will show unto you chereafter that this record is true.
      24.   33 And the multitude did hear and do bear record; and their ahearts were open and they did understand in their hearts the words which he prayed.
      25.   34 And wo be unto him that will anot hearken unto the words of Jesus, and also to them whom he hath chosen and bsent among them; for whoso creceiveth not the words of Jesus and the words of those whom he hath sent receiveth not him; and therefore he will not receive them at the last day;
      26.   3 And ye need not imagine in your hearts that the words which have been spoken are vain, for behold, the Lord will remember his covenant which he hath made unto his people of the house of Israel.
      27.   1 Hearken, O ye Gentiles, and hear the words of Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God, which he hath acommanded me that I should speak concerning you, for, behold he commandeth me that I should write, saying:
      28.   12 And they did not walk any more after the aperformances and bordinances of the claw of Moses; but they did walk after the commandments which they had received from their Lord and their God, continuing in dfasting and prayer, and in meeting together oft both to pray and to hear the word of the Lord.
      29.   27 O then despise not, and wonder not, but hearken unto the words of the Lord, and ask the Father in the name of Jesus for what things soever ye shall stand in need. aDoubt not, but be believing, and begin as in times of old, and bcome unto the Lord with all your cheart, and dwork out your own salvation with fear and trembling before him.
      30.   23 And again, the Lord shall utter his voice out of heaven, saying: Hearken, O ye nations of the earth, and hear the words of that God who amade you.
      31.   1 Hearken, O ye people, and open your hearts and give ear from afar; and listen, you that call yourselves the apeople of the Lord, and hear the word of the Lord and his will concerning you.
          2 Yea, verily, I say, hear the word of him whose anger is akindled against the wicked and brebellious;
      32.   1 Behold, and hearken, O ye inhabitants of Zion, and all ye people of my church who are afar off, and ahear the word of the Lord which I give unto my servant Joseph Smith, Jun., and also unto my servant Martin Harris, and also unto my servant Oliver Cowdery, and also unto my servant John Whitmer, and also unto my servant Sidney Rigdon, and also unto my servant bWilliam W. Phelps, by the way of commandment unto them.
      33.   1 Hearken, O ye people of my church, saith the Lord your God, and hear the word of the Lord concerning you—
