For his son

  1.   34 And Jacob rent his clothes, and put sackcloth upon his loins, and mourned for his son many days.
  2.   2 But for his kin, that is near unto him, that is, for his mother, and for his father, and for his son, and for his daughter, and for his brother,
  3.   12 And they mourned, and wept, and fasted until even, for Saul, and for Jonathan his son, and for the people of the Lord, and for the house of Israel; because they were fallen by the sword.
  4.   37 ¶ But Absalom fled, and went to Talmai, the son of Ammihud, king of Geshur. And David mourned for his son every day.
  5.   2 And the victory that day was turned into mourning unto all the people: for the people heard say that day how the king was grieved for his son.
  6.   6 ¶ Then he called for Solomon his son, and charged him to build an house for the Lord God of Israel.
  7.   14 And the lot eastward fell to Shelemiah. Then for Zechariah his son, a wise counsellor, they cast lots; and his lot came out northward.
  8.   10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.
  9.   2 The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son,
  10.   10 And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.
  11.   21 And he caused that a multitude should be gathered together that they might witness what the Lord had done for his son, and also for those that were with him.
  12.   26 And when he saw that Ammon had no desire to destroy him, and when he also saw the great love he had for his son Lamoni, he was astonished exceedingly, and said: Because this is all that thou hast desired, that I would release thy brethren, and suffer that my son Lamoni should retain his kingdom, behold, I will grant unto you that my son may retain his kingdom from this time and forever; and I will govern him no more—
