Chasten thy son

  1. 5 Thou shalt also consider in thine heart, that, as a man chasteneth his son, so the Lord thy God chasteneth thee.
  2. 18 ¶ If a man have a stubborn and rebellious son, which will not obey the voice of his father, or the voice of his mother, and that, when they have chastened him, will not hearken unto them:
  3. 14 I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men:
  4. 11 ¶ My son, despise not the chastening of the Lord; neither be weary of his correction:
  5. 24 He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.
  6. 18 Chasten thy son while there is hope, and let not thy soul spare for his crying.
  7. 5 And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:
    6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
    7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?
  8. 4 Therefore, they must needs be chastened and tried, even as Abraham, who was commanded to offer up his only son.
