"Own soul"

  1. 6 ¶ If thy brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend, which is as thine own soul, entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers;
  2. 1 And it came to pass, when he had made an end of speaking unto Saul, that the soul of Jonathan was knit with the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul.

    3 Then Jonathan and David made a covenant, because he loved him as his own soul.
  3. 17 And Jonathan caused David to swear again, because he loved him: for he loved him as he loved his own soul.
  4. 29 All they that be fat upon earth shall eat and worship: all they that go down to the dust shall bow before him: and none can keep alive his own soul.
  5. 32 But whoso committeth adultery with a woman lacketh understanding: he that doeth it destroyeth his own soul.
  6. 36 But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.
  7. 17 The merciful man doeth good to his own soul: but he that is cruel troubleth his own flesh.
  8. 32 He that refuseth instruction despiseth his own soul: but he that heareth reproof getteth understanding.
  9. 8 He that getteth wisdom loveth his own soul: he that keepeth understanding shall find good.

    16 He that keepeth the commandment keepeth his own soul; but he that despiseth his ways shall die.
  10. 2 The fear of a king is as the roaring of a lion: whoso provoketh him to anger sinneth against his own soul.
  11. 24 Whoso is partner with a thief hateth his own soul: he heareth cursing, and bewrayeth it not.
  12. 26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
  13. 36 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?
  14. 35 (Yea, a sword shall pierce through thy own soul also,) that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.
  15. 4 And my soul hungered; and I kneeled down before my Maker, and I cried unto him in mighty prayer and supplication for mine own soul; and all the day long did I cry unto him; yea, and when the night came I did still raise my voice high that it reached the heavens.
  16. 33 For behold, there is a wo pronounced upon him who listeth to obey that spirit; for if he listeth to obey him, and remaineth and dieth in his sins, the same drinketh damnation to his own soul; for he receiveth for his wages an everlasting punishment, having transgressed the law of God contrary to his own knowledge.
