"And he answered"

  1.   12 And he answered and said, Must I not take heed to speak that which the Lord hath put in my mouth?
  2.   4 That the Lord called Samuel: and he answered, Here am I.

      6 And the Lord called yet again, Samuel. And Samuel arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou didst call me. And he answered, I called not, my son; lie down again.

      16 Then Eli called Samuel, and said, Samuel, my son. And he answered, Here am I.
  3.   12 And Saul said, Hear now, thou son of Ahitub. And he answered, Here I am, my lord.
  4.   8 And David enquired at the Lord, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all.
  5.   4 And David said unto him, How went the matter? I pray thee, tell me. And he answered, That the people are fled from the battle, and many of the people also are fallen and dead; and Saul and Jonathan his son are dead also.

      13 ¶ And David said unto the young man that told him, Whence art thou? And he answered, I am the son of a stranger, an Amalekite.
  6.   20 Then Abner looked behind him, and said, Art thou Asahel? And he answered, I am.
  7.   6 Now when Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, was come unto David, he fell on his face, and did reverence. And David said, Mephibosheth. And he answered, Behold thy servant!
  8.   26 And he answered, My lord, O king, my servant deceived me: for thy servant said, I will saddle me an ass, that I may ride thereon, and go to the king; because thy servant is lame.
  9.   17 And when he was come near unto her, the woman said, Art thou Joab? And he answered, I am he. Then she said unto him, Hear the words of thine handmaid. And he answered, I do hear.
  10.   30 And Benaiah came to the tabernacle of the Lord, and said unto him, Thus saith the king, Come forth. And he said, Nay; but I will die here. And Benaiah brought the king word again, saying, Thus said Joab, and thus he answered me.
  11.   22 Then Pharaoh said unto him, But what hast thou lacked with me, that, behold, thou seekest to go to thine own country? And he answered, Nothing: howbeit let me go in any wise.
  12.   8 And he answered him, I am: go, tell thy lord, Behold, Elijah is here.

      18 And he answered, I have not troubled Israel; but thou, and thy father’s house, in that ye have forsaken the commandments of the Lord, and thou hast followed Baalim.
  13.   14 And Ahab said, By whom? And he said, Thus saith the Lord, Even by the young men of the princes of the provinces. Then he said, Who shall order the battle? And he answered, Thou.
  14.   6 And he said unto her, Because I spake unto Naboth the Jezreelite, and said unto him, Give me thy vineyard for money; or else, if it please thee, I will give thee another vineyard for it: and he answered, I will not give thee my vineyard.

      20 And Ahab said to Elijah, Hast thou found me, O mine enemy? And he answered, I have found thee: because thou hast sold thyself to work evil in the sight of the Lord.
  15.   15 ¶ So he came to the king. And the king said unto him, Micaiah, shall we go against Ramoth-gilead to battle, or shall we forbear? And he answered him, Go, and prosper: for the Lord shall deliver it into the hand of the king.
  16.   11 Again also he sent unto him another captain of fifty with his fifty. And he answered and said unto him, O man of God, thus hath the king said, Come down quickly.
  17.   5 And the sons of the prophets that were at Jericho came to Elisha, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Lord will take away thy master from thy head to day? And he answered, Yea, I know it; hold ye your peace.
  18.   8 And he said, Which way shall we go up? And he answered, The way through the wilderness of Edom.
  19.   2 Let us go, we pray thee, unto Jordan, and take thence every man a beam, and let us make us a place there, where we may dwell. And he answered, Go ye.
      3 And one said, Be content, I pray thee, and go with thy servants. And he answered, I will go.

      16 And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.

      22 And he answered, Thou shalt not smite them: wouldest thou smite those whom thou hast taken captive with thy sword and with thy bow? set bread and water before them, that they may eat and drink, and go to their master.
  20.   12 And Hazael said, Why weepeth my lord? And he answered, Because I know the evil that thou wilt do unto the children of Israel: their strong holds wilt thou set on fire, and their young men wilt thou slay with the sword, and wilt dash their children, and rip up their women with child.

      14 So he departed from Elisha, and came to his master; who said to him, What said Elisha to thee? And he answered, He told me that thou shouldest surely recover.
  21.   22 And it came to pass, when Joram saw Jehu, that he said, Is it peace, Jehu? And he answered, What peace, so long as the whoredoms of thy mother Jezebel and her witchcrafts are so many?
  22.   26 And David built there an altar unto the Lord, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings, and called upon the Lord; and he answered him from heaven by fire upon the altar of burnt offering.
  23.   3 And Ahab king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat king of Judah, Wilt thou go with me to Ramoth-gilead? And he answered him, I am as thou art, and my people as thy people; and we will be with thee in the war.
  24.   16 If I had called, and he had answered me; yet would I not believe that he had hearkened unto my voice.
  25.   6 Moses and Aaron among his priests, and Samuel among them that call upon his name; they called upon the Lord, and he answered them.

  28.   19 And I said unto the angel that talked with me, What be these? And he answered me, These are the horns which have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.
  29.   4 And he answered and spake unto those that stood before him, saying, Take away the filthy garments from him. And unto him he said, Behold, I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee, and I will clothe thee with change of raiment.
  30.   13 And he answered me and said, Knowest thou not what these be? And I said, No, my lord.
  31.   4 And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,
  32.   30 And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not.
  33.   23 And he answered and said, He that dippeth his hand with me in the dish, the same shall betray me.
  34.   12 And when he was accused of the chief priests and elders, he answered nothing.

      14 And he answered him to never a word; insomuch that the governor marvelled greatly.
  35.   33 And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother, or my brethren?
  36.   9 And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many.
  37.   12 And he answered and told them, Elias verily cometh first, and restoreth all things; and how it is written of the Son of man, that he must suffer many things, and be set at nought.
  38.   3 And he answered and said unto them, What did Moses command you?

      20 And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth.
  39.   20 And he answered and said unto them, It is one of the twelve, that dippeth with me in the dish.
  40.   21 And he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it.
  41.   40 And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.
  42.   3 And he answered and said unto them, I will also ask you one thing; and answer me:
  43.   3 And Pilate asked him, saying, Art thou the King of the Jews? And he answered him and said, Thou sayest it.
  44.   21 And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he saith, I am not. Art thou that prophet? And he answered, No.
  45.   37 And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
  46.   29 And he answered, No.
  47.   7 And he answered and said: Yea, I believe all the words that thou hast taught.
  48.   25 And he answered, and said unto him: I do not know what that meaneth.
  49.   38 And he answered, Nay.
  50.   10 And he answered: Nay; Lord, show thyself unto me.

      12 And he answered: Yea, Lord, I know that thou speakest the truth, for thou art a God of truth, and canst not lie.
