And now I say unto you that it was expedient that there should bealaw given to the children of Israel, yea, even a very strict law; for they were a stiffnecked people, quick to do iniquity, and slow to remember the Lord their God;

Now there was no law against a man’s belief; for it was strictly contrary to the commands of God that there should bealaw which should bring men on to unequal grounds.
4
And after that, those who have thus been tithed shall pay one-tenth of all their interest annually; and this shall bea standing law unto them forever, for my holy priesthood, saith the Lord.
