Lestthere should be among you man, or woman, or family, or tribe, whose heart turneth away this day from the Lord our God, to go and serve the gods of these nations; lestthere should be among you a root that beareth gall and wormwood;

For I fear, lest, when I come, I shall not find you such as I would, and that I shall be found unto you such as ye would not: lestthere be debates, envyings, wraths, strifes, backbitings, whisperings, swellings, tumults:

Now when the queen saw the fear of the servants she also began to fear exceedingly, lestthere
should some evil come upon her. And she commanded her servants that
they should go and call the people, that they might slay Aaron and his
brethren.

And now it came to pass that when they had surrendered themselves up
unto us, behold, I numbered those young men who had fought with me,
fearing lestthere were many of them slain.

And when the Lamanites saw that they were marching towards the land of Zarahemla, they were exceedingly afraid, lestthere
was a plan laid to lead them on to destruction; therefore they began to
retreat into the wilderness again, yea, even back by the same way which
they had come.

And unto the bishop of the church, and unto such as God shall appoint
and ordain to watch over the church and to be elders unto the church,
are to have it given unto them to discern all those gifts lestthere shall be any among you professing and yet be not of God.

And now, behold, this is the will of the Lord your God concerning his
saints, that they should assemble themselves together unto the land of
Zion, not in haste, lestthere should be confusion, which bringeth pestilence.
