2 As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.• • •22 And when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king; to whom also he gave testimony, and said, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfil all my will.• • •
-
18 And when they were come to him, he said unto them, Ye know, from the first day that I came into Asia, after what manner I have been with you at all seasons,• • •24 But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.25 And now, behold, I know that ye all, among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God, shall see my face no more.• • •• • •• • •
-
1 And Paul, earnestly beholding the council, said, Men and brethren, I have lived in all good conscience before God until this day.• • •
-
17 And it came to pass, that after three days Paul called the chief of the Jews together: and when they were come together, he said unto them, Men and brethren, though I have committed nothing against the people, or customs of our fathers, yet was I delivered prisoner from Jerusalem into the hands of the Romans.
-
10 Making request, if by any means now at length I might have a prosperous journey by the will of God to come unto you.• • •
-
• • •
-
18 But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world.• • •
-
15 Nevertheless, brethren, I have written the more boldly unto you in some sort, as putting you in mind, because of the grace that is given to me of God,• • •• • •19 Through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem, and round about unto Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.• • •• • •28 When therefore I have performed this, and have sealed to them this fruit, I will come by you into Spain.• • •
-
2 I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.• • •• • •
-
6 And these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and to Apollos for your sakes; that ye might learn in us not to think of men above that which is written, that no one of you be puffed up for one against another.• • •
-
25 Now concerning virgins I have no commandment of the Lord: yet I give my judgment, as one that hath obtained mercy of the Lord to be faithful.• • •32 But I would have you without carefulness. He that is unmarried careth for the things that belong to the Lord, how he may please the Lord:• • •
-
15 But I have used none of these things: neither have I written these things, that it should be so done unto me: for it were better for me to die, than that any man should make my glorying void.16 For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!17 For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if against my will, a dispensation of the gospel is committed unto me.• • •
-
3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.• • •
-
3 I speak not this to condemn you: for I have said before, that ye are in our hearts to die and live with you.• • •14 For if I have boasted any thing to him of you, I am not ashamed; but as we spake all things to you in truth, even so our boasting, which I made before Titus, is found a truth.• • •
-
2 For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.• • •7 Have I committed an offence in abasing myself that ye might be exalted, because I have preached to you the gospel of God freely?• • •9 And when I was present with you, and wanted, I was chargeable to no man: for that which was lacking to me the brethren which came from Macedonia supplied: and in all things I have kept myself from being burdensome unto you, and so will I keep myself.• • •
-
10 I have confidence in you through the Lord, that ye will be none otherwise minded: but he that troubleth you shall bear his judgment, whosoever he be.• • •
-
16 Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.• • •• • •
-
8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,• • •
-
11 Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.• • •
-
3 I thank God, whom I serve from my forefathers with pure conscience, that without ceasing I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day;• • •
-
• • •13 Whom I would have retained with me, that in thy stead he might have ministered unto me in the bonds of the gospel:• • •
-
14 I have written unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one.• • •
-
• • •14 But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication.• • •
-
2 Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God.• • •
