  2.   40 And he said unto me, The aLord, before whom I bwalk, will send his angel with thee, and prosper thy way; and thou shalt take a wife for my son of my kindred, and of my father’s house:
          •  •  •
44 And she say to me, Both drink thou, and I will also draw for thy camels: let the same be the woman whom the Lord hath aappointed out for my master’s son.
  3.   33 And Jacob said, Swear to me this day; and he sware unto him: and he sold his birthright unto Jacob.
  4.   9 ¶ And Jacob said, O aGod of my father Abraham, and God of my father Isaac, the Lord which saidst unto me, bReturn unto thy country, and to thy kindred, and I will deal well with thee:
  5.   11 And Shechem said unto her father and unto her brethren, Let me find grace in your eyes, and what ye shall say unto me I will give.
12 Ask me anever so much dowry and gift, and I will give according as ye shall say unto me: but give me the damsel to wife.
  6.   36 And Jacob their father said unto them, Me have ye bereaved of my children: Joseph is not, and Simeon is not, and ye will take aBenjamin away: all these things are against me.
  7.   31 And he said, Swear unto me. And he sware unto him. And Israel abowed himself bupon the cbed’s head.
  8.   4 And said unto me, Behold, I will make thee afruitful, and multiply thee, and I will make of thee a multitude of people; and will give this bland to thy seed after thee for an everlasting cpossession.
  9.   13 And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? awhat shall I say unto them?
  10.   23 For they said unto me, aMake us bgods, which shall go before us: for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.
  11.   12 ¶ And Moses said unto the Lord, See, thou sayest unto me, aBring up this people: and thou hast not let me know whom thou wilt send with me. Yet thou hast said, I bknow thee by cname, and thou hast also found grace in my sight.
  12.   12 Have I conceived all this people? have I begotten them, that thou shouldest say unto me, Carry them in thy bosom, as a nursing father beareth the sucking child, unto the land which thou swarest unto their fathers?
  13.   17 For I will promote thee unto very great honour, and I will do whatsoever thou sayest unto me: come therefore, I pray thee, curse me this people.
          •  •  •
19 Now therefore, I pray you, tarry ye also here this night, that I may know what the Lord will say unto me more.
  14.   41 Then ye answered and said unto me, We have asinned against the Lord, we will go up and fight, according to all that the Lord our God commanded us. And when ye had girded on every man his weapons of war, ye were ready to go up into the hill.
42 And the Lord said unto me, Say unto them, Go not up, neither fight; for I am not among you; lest ye be smitten before your enemies.
  15.   9 And the Lord said unto me, Distress not the aMoabites, neither contend with them in battle: for I will not give thee of their land for a possession; because I have given bAr unto the children of Lot for a possession.

31 And the Lord said unto me, Behold, I have begun to give Sihon and his land before thee: begin to possess, that thou mayest inherit his land.
  16.   2 And the Lord said unto me, Fear him not: for I will deliver him, and all his people, and his land, into thy hand; and thou shalt do unto him as thou didst unto Sihon king of the Amorites, which dwelt at Heshbon.
          •  •  •
26 But the Lord was awroth with me for your bsakes, and would not hear me: and the Lord said unto me, Let it suffice thee; speak no more unto me of this matter.
  17.   10 Specially the day that thou stoodest before the Lord thy God in aHoreb, when the Lord said unto me, bGather me the people together, and I will make them chear my words, that they may learn to dfear me all the days that they shall live upon the earth, and that they may teach their echildren.
  18.   28 And the Lord heard the voice of your words, when ye spake unto me; and the Lord said unto me, I have heard the voice of the words of this people, which they have spoken unto thee: they have well said all that they have spoken.
  19.   12 And the Lord said unto me, Arise, get thee down quickly from hence; for thy people which thou hast brought forth out of Egypt have acorrupted themselves; they are quickly turned aside out of the way which I commanded them; they have made them a molten image.
  20.   1 At that time the Lord said unto me, Hew thee two atables of stone like unto the first, and come up unto me into the mount, and make thee an bark of wood.
          •  •  •
11 And the Lord said unto me, Arise, take thy ajourney before the people, that they may go in and possess the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give unto them.
  21.   17 And the Lord said unto me, They have well spoken that which they have spoken.

  23.   7 But he said unto me, Behold, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; and now drink no wine nor strong drink, neither eat any unclean thing: for the child shall be a Nazarite to God from the womb to the day of his death.
  24.   24 And he said, Ye have taken away my gods which I made, and the priest, and ye are gone away: and what have I more? and what is this that ye say unto me, What aileth thee?
  25.   21 And Ruth the Moabitess said, He said unto me also, Thou shalt keep afast by my young men, until they have ended all my harvest.
  26.   5 And she said unto her, All that thou sayest unto me I will do.
          •  •  •

  30.   2 And David said unto Ahimelech the priest, The king hath commanded me a business, and hath said unto me, Let no man know any thing of the business whereabout I send thee, and what I have commanded thee: and I have appointed my servants to such and such a place.
  31.   15 And David said to him, Canst thou bring me down to this company? And he said, Swear unto me by God, that thou wilt neither kill me, nor deliver me into the hands of my amaster, and I will bring thee down to this company.
  32.   8 And he said unto me, Who art thou? And I answered him, I am an Amalekite.
9 He said unto me again, Stand, I pray thee, upon me, and slay me: for anguish is come upon me, because my life is yet whole in me.
  33.   42 And the king sent and called for Shimei, and said unto him, Did I not make thee to swear by the Lord, and aprotested unto thee, saying, Know for a certain, on the day thou goest out, and walkest abroad any whither, that thou shalt surely die? and thou saidst unto me, The word that I have heard is good.
  34.   12 ¶ So Jeroboam and all the people came to Rehoboam the third day, as the king had appointed, saying, Come to me again the third day.

  38.   22 But if ye say unto me, We trust in the Lord our God: is not that he, whose high places and whose altars Hezekiah hath taken away, and hath said to Judah and Jerusalem, Ye shall worship before this altar in Jerusalem?
          •  •  •
25 Am I now come up without the Lord against this place to destroy it? The Lord said to me, Go up against this land, and destroy it.
  39.   3 But God said unto me, Thou shalt not build an house for my name, because thou hast been a man of awar, and hast shed blood.

  40.   3 And they said unto me, The aremnant that are left of the captivity there in the province are in great affliction and reproach: the wall of Jerusalem also is broken down, and the gates thereof are burned with fire.
  41.   2 Wherefore the king said unto me, Why is thy countenance sad, seeing thou art not sick? this is nothing else but sorrow of heart. Then I was very sore afraid,
          •  •  •
4 Then the king said unto me, For what dost thou make request? So I prayed to the God of heaven.
          •  •  •
6 And the king said unto me, (the queen also sitting by him,) For how long shall thy journey be? and when wilt thou return? So it pleased the king to send me; and I set him a time.
  42.   22 Did I say, aBring unto me? or, Give a reward for me of your substance?
  43.   5 I would know the words which he would answer me, and understand what he would say unto me.

  46.   15 Let them be desolate for a reward of their ashame that say unto me, Aha, aha.
  47.   3 My tears have been my meat day and night, while they continually say unto me, Where is thy God?
          •  •  •
10 As with a sword in my bones, mine enemies reproach me; while they say daily unto me, Where is thy God?
  48.   5 Gather my asaints together unto me; those that have made a bcovenant with me by csacrifice.
  49.   1 I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the ahouse of the Lord.
  50.   4 He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and live.

  51.   10 My beloved spake, and said unto me, Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away.
  52.   2 ¶ I sleep, but my heart waketh: it is the voice of my beloved that knocketh, saying, Open to me, my sister, my love, my dove, my undefiled: for my head is filled with dew, and my locks with the drops of the night.
  53.   1 Moreover the Lord said unto me, Take thee a great aroll, and bwrite in it with ca man’s pen concerning dMaher-shalal-hash-baz.
  54.   4 For so the Lord said unto me, I will take my rest, and I will consider in my dwelling place like a clear heat upon herbs, and like a cloud of dew in the heat of harvest.
  55.   6 For thus hath the Lord said unto me, Go, set a watchman, let him adeclare what he seeth.
          •  •  •
16 For thus hath the Lord said unto me, Within a year, according to the years of an hireling, and all the glory of aKedar shall fail:
  56.   7 But if thou say to me, We trust in the Lord our God: is it not he, whose ahigh places and whose altars Hezekiah hath taken away, and said to Judah and to Jerusalem, Ye shall worship before this altar?
          •  •  •
10 And am I now come up without the Lord against this land to destroy it? the Lord said unto me, Go up against this land, and destroy it.
  57.   3 And said unto me, Thou art my aservant, O Israel, in whom I will be bglorified.
  58.   7 ¶ But the Lord said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall asend thee, and whatsoever I bcommand thee thou shalt cspeak.
          •  •  •
9 Then the Lord put forth his hand, and touched my amouth. And the Lord said unto me, Behold, I have put my bwords in thy cmouth.
          •  •  •
14 Then the Lord said unto me, Out of the anorth an evil shall break forth upon all the inhabitants of the land.
  59.   6 ¶ The Lord said also unto me in the days of Josiah the king, Hast thou seen that which backsliding Israel hath done? she is gone up upon every high mountain and under every green tree, and there hath played the harlot.
          •  •  •
11 And the Lord said unto me, The backsliding Israel hath ajustified herself more than treacherous Judah.
  60.   6 Then the Lord said unto me, Proclaim all these words in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, saying, Hear ye the words of this covenant, and do them.
          •  •  •
9 And the Lord said unto me, A aconspiracy is found among the men of Judah, and among the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
  61.   6 And it came to pass after many days, that the Lord said unto me, Arise, go to Euphrates, and take the girdle from thence, which I commanded thee to hide there.
  62.   14 Then the Lord said unto me, The aprophets prophesy blies in my name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake unto them: they prophesy unto you a false cvision and divination, and a thing of nought, and the ddeceit of their heart.
  63.   15 ¶ Behold, they say unto me, Where is the word of the Lord? let it acome now.
  64.   8 So Hanameel mine uncle’s son came to me in the court of the prison according to the word of the Lord, and said unto me, Buy my field, I pray thee, that is in Anathoth, which is in the country of Benjamin: for the right of inheritance is thine, and the redemption is thine; buy it for thyself. Then I knew that this was the word of the Lord.
          •  •  •
25 And thou hast said unto me, O Lord God, Buy thee the field for money, and take witnesses; for the city is given into the hand of the Chaldeans.
  65.   1 And he said unto me, aSon of man, stand upon thy feet, and I will speak unto thee.
          •  •  •
3 And he said unto me, Son of man, I asend thee to the children of Israel, to a brebellious nation that hath rebelled against me: they and their fathers have transgressed against me, even unto this very day.
  66.   1 Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, eat that thou findest; eat this aroll, and go speak unto the house of Israel.
          •  •  •
3 And he said unto me, Son of man, cause thy belly to eat, and fill thy bowels with this roll that I give thee. Then did I aeat it; and it was in my mouth as honey for sweetness.
4 ¶ And he said unto me, Son of man, go, get thee unto the house of Israel, and speak with my words unto them.
          •  •  •
10 Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, all my words that I shall speak unto thee receive in thine heart, and hear with thine ears.
          •  •  •
22 ¶ And the hand of the Lord was there upon me; and he said unto me, Arise, go forth into the aplain, and I will there talk with thee.
          •  •  •
24 Then the spirit entered into me, and set me upon my feet, and spake with me, and said unto me, Go, shut thyself within thine house.
  67.   15 Then he said unto me, Lo, I have given thee cow’s dung for man’s dung, and thou shalt prepare thy bread therewith.
16 Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, behold, I will break the staff of bread in Jerusalem: and they shall eat bread by weight, and with care; and they shall drink water by measure, and with aastonishment:
  68.   5 ¶ Then said he unto me, Son of man, lift up thine eyes now the way toward the north. So I lifted up mine eyes the way toward the north, and behold northward at the gate of the altar this image of jealousy in the entry.
6 He said furthermore unto me, Son of man, seest thou what they do? even the great abominations that the house of Israel committeth here, that I should go far off from my sanctuary? but turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations.
          •  •  •
8 Then said he unto me, Son of man, dig now in the wall: and when I had digged in the wall, behold a door.
9 And he said unto me, Go in, and behold the wicked aabominations that they do here.
          •  •  •
12 Then said he unto me, Son of man, hast thou seen what the ancients of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in the chambers of his imagery? for they say, The Lord seeth us not; the Lord hath forsaken the earth.
13 ¶ He said also unto me, Turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations that they do.
          •  •  •
15 ¶ Then said he unto me, Hast thou seen this, O son of man? turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations than these.
          •  •  •
17 ¶ Then he said unto me, Hast thou seen this, O son of man? Is it a light thing to the house of Judah that they commit the abominations which they commit here? for they have filled the land with violence, and have returned to provoke me to anger: and, lo, they put the branch to their nose.
  69.   9 Then said he unto me, The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceeding great, and the land is full of blood, and the city full of perverseness: for they say, The Lord hath forsaken the earth, and the Lord aseeth not.
  70.   2 Then said he unto me, Son of man, these are the men that devise mischief, and give wicked counsel in this city:
          •  •  •
5 And the aSpirit of the Lord fell upon me, and said unto me, Speak; Thus saith the Lord; Thus have ye said, O house of Israel: for I bknow the things that come into your cmind, every one of them.
  71.   36 ¶ The Lord said moreover unto me; Son of man, wilt thou judge Aholah and Aholibah? yea, declare unto them their abominations;
  72.   19 ¶ And the people said unto me, Wilt thou not tell us awhat these things are to us, that thou doest so?
  73.   3 And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones alive? And I answered, O Lord God, thou knowest.
4 Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the Lord.
          •  •  •
9 Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the awind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord God; Come from the four bwinds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live.
          •  •  •
11 ¶ Then he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel: behold, they say, Our bones are dried, and our hope is alost: we are cut off for our parts.
  74.   4 And the man said unto me, Son of man, behold with thine eyes, and hear with thine ears, and set thine aheart upon all that I shall shew thee; for to the intent that I might shew them unto thee art thou brought hither: bdeclare all that thou seest to the house of Israel.
          •  •  •
45 And he said unto me, This chamber, whose prospect is toward the south, is for the priests, the akeepers of the charge of the house.
  75.   4 So he measured the length thereof, twenty cubits; and the breadth, twenty cubits, before the temple: and he said unto me, This is the most aholy place.
          •  •  •
22 The aaltar of wood was three cubits high, and the length thereof two cubits; and the corners thereof, and the length thereof, and the walls thereof, were of wood: and he said unto me, This is the btable that is before the Lord.
  76.   13 ¶ Then said he unto me, The north chambers and the south chambers, which are before the separate place, they be holy chambers, where the apriests that approach unto the Lord shall beat the most holy things: there shall they lay the most holy things, and the cmeat offering, and the dsin offering, and the trespass offering; for the place is holy.
  77.   7 ¶ And he said unto me, Son of man, the place of my throne, and the place of the soles of my afeet, where I will dwell in the midst of the children of Israel for ever, and my holy name, shall the house of Israel no more bdefile, neither they, nor their kings, by their whoredom, nor by the carcases of their kings in their high places.
          •  •  •
18 ¶ And he said unto me, Son of man, thus saith the Lord God; These are the ordinances of the altar in the day when they shall make it, to offer burnt offerings thereon, and to asprinkle blood thereon.
  78.   5 And the Lord said unto me, Son of man, mark well, and behold with thine eyes, and hear with thine ears all that I say unto thee concerning all the ordinances of the house of the Lord, and all the laws thereof; and mark well the entering in of the house, with every going forth of the sanctuary.
  79.   20 Then said he unto me, This is the place where the priests shall boil the atrespass offering and the sin offering, where they shall bbake the meat offering; that they bear them not out into the utter court, to sanctify the people.
          •  •  •
24 Then said he unto me, These are the places of them that boil, where the aministers of the house shall boil the sacrifice of the people.
  80.   6 ¶ And he said unto me, Son of man, hast thou seen this? Then he brought me, and caused me to return to the brink of the river.
          •  •  •
8 Then said he unto me, These waters issue out toward the east country, and go down into the desert, and go into the asea: which being brought forth into the sea, the bwaters shall be healed.
  81.   14 And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.
          •  •  •
17 So he came near where I stood: and when he came, I was afraid, and fell upon my face: but he said unto me, Understand, O son of man: for at the time of the end shall be the vision.
  82.   11 And he said unto me, O Daniel, a man greatly abeloved, understand the words that I speak unto thee, and stand upright: for unto thee am I now sent. And when he had spoken this word unto me, I stood trembling.
12 Then said he unto me, aFear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst bset thine heart to understand, and to cchasten thyself before thy God, thy words were dheard, and I am come for thy words.
  83.   8 And the Lord said unto me, Amos, what seest thou? And I said, A plumbline. Then said the Lord, Behold, I will set a plumbline in the midst of my people Israel: I will not again apass by them any more:
          •  •  •
15 And the Lord took me as I followed the flock, and the aLord said unto me, bGo, cprophesy unto my people Israel.
  84.   10 Then she that is mine enemy shall see it, and shame shall cover her which said unto me, Where is the Lord thy God? mine eyes shall behold her: now shall she be atrodden down as the mire of the streets.
  85.   1 I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved.
  86.   9 Then said I, O my lord, what are these? And the aangel that talked with me said unto me, I will shew thee what these be.
          •  •  •
14 So the angel that communed with me said unto me, Cry thou, saying, Thus saith the Lord of hosts; I am ajealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with a great jealousy.
  87.   2 Then said I, Whither goest thou? And he said unto me, To measure Jerusalem, to see what is the breadth thereof, and what is the length thereof.
  88.   2 And said unto me, What seest thou? And I said, I have looked, and behold a acandlestick all of gold, with a bowl upon the top of it, and his seven lamps thereon, and seven pipes to the seven lamps, which are upon the top thereof:
          •  •  •
5 Then the angel that talked with me answered and said unto me, Knowest thou not what these be? And I said, No, my lord.
  89.   2 And he said unto me, What seest thou? And I answered, I see a flying roll; the length thereof is twenty cubits, and the breadth thereof ten cubits.
3 Then said he unto me, This is the curse that goeth forth over the face of the whole earth: for every one that astealeth shall be bcut off as on this side according to it; and every one that sweareth shall be cut off as on that side according to it.
          •  •  •
5 ¶ Then the angel that talked with me went forth, and said unto me, Lift up now thine eyes, and see what is this that goeth forth.
          •  •  •

          •  •  •
15 ¶ And the Lord said unto me, Take unto thee yet the instruments of a foolish shepherd.
  92.   21 ¶ Not every one that asaith unto me, bLord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that cdoeth the dwill of my Father which is in eheaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not aprophesied in thy name? and in thy bname have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
  93.   23 And he said unto them, Ye will surely say unto me this proverb, Physician, heal thyself: whatsoever we have heard done in aCapernaum, bdo also here in thy country.
  94.   33 And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the aHoly Ghost.

  96.   11 He answered and said, A man that is called Jesus made clay, and anointed mine eyes, and said unto me, Go to the pool of Siloam, and awash: and I went and washed, and I received bsight.
  97.   50 And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I aspeak therefore, even as the bFather said unto me, so I cspeak.
  98.   7 And I heard a voice saying unto me, Arise, Peter; slay and eat.
  99.   7 And I fell unto the ground, and heard a voice saying unto me, aSaul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?

4 And the Lord said unto me, by the Urim and Thummim, that Kolob was after the manner of the Lord, according to its atimes and seasons in the revolutions thereof; that one revolution was a bday unto the Lord, after his manner of reckoning, it being one thousand cyears according to the time appointed unto that whereon thou standest. This is the reckoning of the Lord’s dtime, according to the reckoning of Kolob.
5 And the Lord said unto me: The planet which is the lesser light, lesser than that which is to rule the day, even the night, is above or agreater than that upon which thou standest in point of reckoning, for it moveth in order more slow; this is in order because it standeth above the earth upon which thou standest, therefore the reckoning of its time is not so many as to its number of days, and of months, and of years.
6 And the Lord said unto me: Now, Abraham, these atwo facts exist, behold thine eyes see it; it is given unto thee to know the times of reckoning, and the set time, yea, the set time of the earth upon which thou standest, and the set time of the greater light which is set to rule the day, and the set time of the lesser light which is set to rule the night.

12 And he said unto me: My son, my son (and his hand was stretched out), behold I will show you all these. And he put his hand upon mine eyes, and I saw those things which his hands had made, which were many; and they multiplied before mine eyes, and I could not see the end thereof.
13 And he said unto me: This is Shinehah, which is the sun. And he said unto me: Kokob, which is star. And he said unto me: Olea, which is the moon. And he said unto me: Kokaubeam, which signifies stars, or all the great lights, which were in the firmament of heaven.

15 And the Lord said unto me: Abraham, I ashow these things unto thee before ye go into Egypt, that ye may declare all these words.

19 And the Lord said unto me: These two facts do exist, that there are two spirits, one being more intelligent than the other; there shall be another more intelligent than they; I am the Lord thy God, I am amore intelligent than they all.

23 And God saw these souls that they were good, and he stood in the midst of them, and he said: These I will make my rulers; for he stood among those that were spirits, and he saw that they were good; and he said unto me: Abraham, thou art one of them; thou wast achosen before thou wast born.
  158.   20 He again forbade me to join with any of them; and many other things did he say unto me, which I cannot write at this time. When I came to myself again, I found myself alying on my back, looking up into heaven. When the light had departed, I had no strength; but soon recovering in some degree, I went home. And as I leaned up to the fireplace, bmother inquired what the matter was. I replied, “Never mind, all is well—I am well enough off.” I then said to my mother, “I have learned for myself that Presbyterianism is not true.” It seems as though the cadversary was aware, at a very early period of my life, that I was destined to prove a disturber and an annoyer of his kingdom; else why should the powers of darkness combine against me? Why the dopposition and persecution that arose against me, almost in my infancy?

33 He called me by aname, and said unto me that he was a bmessenger sent from the presence of God to me, and that his name was Moroni; that God had a work for me to do; and that my name should be had for cgood and evil among all nations, kindreds, and tongues, or that it should be both good and evil spoken of among all people.

65 “He then said to me, ‘Let me see that certificate.’ I accordingly took it out of my pocket and gave it to him, when he took it and tore it to pieces, saying that there was no such thing now as ministering of aangels, and that if I would bring the plates to him he would translate them. I informed him that part of the plates were bsealed, and that I was forbidden to bring them. He replied, ‘I cannot read a sealed book.’ I left him and went to Dr. Mitchell, who sanctioned what Professor Anthon had said respecting both the characters and the translation.”
