5 And the men of Gibeah rose against me, and beset the house round about upon me by night, and thought to have slain me: and my concubine have they aforced, that she is dead.

12 ¶ And Abner sent messengers to David on his behalf, saying, Whose is the land? saying also, Make thy aleague with me, and, behold, my hand shall be with thee, to bring about all Israel unto thee.

17 And David said unto God, Is it not I that commanded the people to be numbered? even I it is that have sinned and done evil indeed; but as for these sheep, what have they done? let thine hand, I pray thee, O Lord my God, be on me, and on my father’s house; but not on thy people, that they should be plagued.
-
9 But if ye turn unto me, and keep my commandments, and do them; though there were of you cast out unto the uttermost part of the heaven, yet will I agather them from thence, and will bring them unto the place that I have chosen to set my name there.
