Wicked and righteous

  1.   23 ¶ And Abraham drew near, and said, Wilt thou also destroy the righteous with the wicked?
          •  •  •
25 That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked: and that the righteous should be as the wicked, that be far from thee: Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?
  2.   27 ¶ And Pharaoh sent, and called for Moses and Aaron, and said unto them, I have sinned this time: the Lord is righteous, and I and my people are wicked.
  3.   7 Keep thee far from a false matter; and the innocent and righteous slay thou not: for I will not justify the wicked.
  4.   1 If there be a controversy between men, and they come unto judgment, that the judges may judge them; then they shall justify the righteous, and condemn the wicked.
  5.   11 How much more, when wicked men have slain a righteous person in his own house upon his bed? shall I not therefore now require his blood of your hand, and take you away from the earth?
  6.   32 Then hear thou in heaven, and do, and judge thy servants, condemning the wicked, to bring his way upon his head; and justifying the righteous, to give him according to his righteousness.
  7.   23 Then hear thou from heaven, and do, and judge thy servants, by requiting the wicked, by recompensing his way upon his own head; and by justifying the righteous, by giving him according to his righteousness.
  8.   15 If I be wicked, woe unto me; and if I be righteous, yet will I not lift up my head. I am full of confusion; therefore see thou mine affliction;
  9.   9 Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end; but establish the just: for the righteous God trieth the hearts and reins.
          •  •  •
11 God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day.
  10.   5 The Lord trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth.
  11.   21 Evil shall slay the wicked: and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate.
  12.   16 A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked.
17 For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the Lord upholdeth the righteous.
          •  •  •
21 The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again: but the righteous sheweth mercy, and giveth.
          •  •  •
32 The wicked watcheth the righteous, and seeketh to slay him.
  13.   10 The righteous shall rejoice when he seeth the vengeance: he shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked.
  14.   10 All the horns of the wicked also will I cut off; but the horns of the righteous shall be exalted.
  15.   3 For the rod of the wicked shall not rest upon the lot of the righteous; lest the righteous put forth their hands unto iniquity.
  16.   4 The Lord is righteous: he hath cut asunder the cords of the wicked.
  17.   3 The Lord will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish: but he casteth away the substance of the wicked.
          •  •  •
11 The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.
          •  •  •
16 The labour of the righteous tendeth to life: the fruit of the wicked to sin.
          •  •  •
24 The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him: but the desire of the righteous shall be granted.
25 As the whirlwind passeth, so is the wicked no more: but the righteous is an everlasting foundation.
          •  •  •
28 The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish.
          •  •  •
30 The righteous shall never be removed: but the wicked shall not inhabit the earth.
          •  •  •
32 The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable: but the mouth of the wicked speaketh frowardness.
  18.   5 The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way: but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.
          •  •  •
8 The righteous is delivered out of trouble, and the wicked cometh in his stead.
          •  •  •
10 When it goeth well with the righteous, the city rejoiceth: and when the wicked perish, there is shouting.
          •  •  •
18 The wicked worketh a deceitful work: but to him that soweth righteousness shall be a sure reward.
          •  •  •
21 Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished: but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered.
          •  •  •
23 The desire of the righteous is only good: but the expectation of the wicked is wrath.
          •  •  •
31 Behold, the righteous shall be recompensed in the earth: much more the wicked and the sinner.
  19.   5 The thoughts of the righteous are right: but the counsels of the wicked are deceit.
          •  •  •
7 The wicked are overthrown, and are not: but the house of the righteous shall stand.
          •  •  •
10 A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.
          •  •  •
12 The wicked desireth the net of evil men: but the root of the righteous yieldeth fruit.
          •  •  •
26 The righteous is more excellent than his neighbour: but the way of the wicked seduceth them.
  20.   5 A righteous man hateth lying: but a wicked man is loathsome, and cometh to shame.
          •  •  •
9 The light of the righteous rejoiceth: but the lamp of the wicked shall be put out.
          •  •  •
25 The righteous eateth to the satisfying of his soul: but the belly of the wicked shall want.
  21.   19 The evil bow before the good; and the wicked at the gates of the righteous.
          •  •  •
32 The wicked is driven away in his wickedness: but the righteous hath hope in his death.
  22.   6 In the house of the righteous is much treasure: but in the revenues of the wicked is trouble.
          •  •  •
9 The way of the wicked is an abomination unto the Lord: but he loveth him that followeth after righteousness.
          •  •  •
28 The heart of the righteous studieth to answer: but the mouth of the wicked poureth out evil things.
29 The Lord is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous.
  23.   5 It is not good to accept the person of the wicked, to overthrow the righteous in judgment.
  24.   12 The righteous man wisely considereth the house of the wicked: but God overthroweth the wicked for their wickedness.
          •  •  •
18 The wicked shall be a ransom for the righteous, and the transgressor for the upright.
  25.   15 Lay not wait, O wicked man, against the dwelling of the righteous; spoil not his resting place:
          •  •  •
24 He that saith unto the wicked, Thou art righteous; him shall the people curse, nations shall abhor him:
  26.   5 Take away the wicked from before the king, and his throne shall be established in righteousness.
          •  •  •
26 A righteous man falling down before the wicked is as a troubled fountain, and a corrupt spring.
  27.   1 The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion.
          •  •  •
12 When righteous men do rejoice, there is great glory: but when the wicked rise, a man is hidden.
          •  •  •
28 When the wicked rise, men hide themselves: but when they perish, the righteous increase.
  28.   2 When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.
          •  •  •
7 The righteous considereth the cause of the poor: but the wicked regardeth not to know it.
          •  •  •
16 When the wicked are multiplied, transgression increaseth: but the righteous shall see their fall.
  29.   17 I said in mine heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked: for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work.
  30.   15 All things have I seen in the days of my vanity: there is a just man that perisheth in his righteousness, and there is a wicked man that prolongeth his life in his wickedness.
  31.   14 There is a vanity which is done upon the earth; that there be just men, unto whom it happeneth according to the work of the wicked; again, there be wicked men, to whom it happeneth according to the work of the righteous: I said that this also is vanity.
  32.   2 All things come alike to all: there is one event to the righteous, and to the wicked; to the good and to the clean, and to the unclean; to him that sacrificeth, and to him that sacrificeth not: as is the good, so is the sinner; and he that sweareth, as he that feareth an oath.
  33.   23 Which justify the wicked for reward, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him!
  34.   4 But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.
  35.   10 Let favour be shewed to the wicked, yet will he not learn righteousness: in the land of uprightness will he deal unjustly, and will not behold the majesty of the Lord.
  36.   1 Righteous art thou, O Lord, when I plead with thee: yet let me talk with thee of thy judgments: Wherefore doth the way of the wicked prosper? wherefore are all they happy that deal very treacherously?
  37.   22 Because with lies ye have made the heart of the righteous sad, whom I have not made sad; and strengthened the hands of the wicked, that he should not return from his wicked way, by promising him life:
  38.   20 The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.
          •  •  •
24 ¶ But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he hath trespassed, and in his sin that he hath sinned, in them shall he die.
  39.   3 And say to the land of Israel, Thus saith the Lord; Behold, I am against thee, and will draw forth my sword out of his sheath, and will cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked.
4 Seeing then that I will cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked, therefore shall my sword go forth out of his sheath against all flesh from the south to the north:
  40.   12 Therefore, thou son of man, say unto the children of thy people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression: as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turneth from his wickedness; neither shall the righteous be able to live for his righteousness in the day that he sinneth.
  41.   4 Therefore the law is slacked, and judgment doth never go forth: for the wicked doth compass about the righteous; therefore wrong judgment proceedeth.
          •  •  •
13 Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity: wherefore lookest thou upon them that deal treacherously, and holdest thy tongue when the wicked devoureth the man that is more righteous than he?
  42.   18 Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not.
  43.   12 Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother’s righteous.
  44.   13 Behold the Lord slayeth the wicked to bring forth his righteous purposes. It is better that one man should perish than that a nation should dwindle and perish in unbelief.
  45.   30 And I said unto them that our father also saw that the justice of God did also divide the wicked from the righteous; and the brightness thereof was like unto the brightness of a flaming fire, which ascendeth up unto God forever and ever, and hath no end.
          •  •  •
36 Wherefore, the wicked are rejected from the righteous, and also from that tree of life, whose fruit is most precious and most desirable above all other fruits; yea, and it is the greatest of all the gifts of God. And thus I spake unto my brethren. Amen.
  46.   2 And it came to pass that I said unto them that I knew that I had spoken hard things against the wicked, according to the truth; and the righteous have I justified, and testified that they should be lifted up at the last day; wherefore, the guilty taketh the truth to be hard, for it cutteth them to the very center.
  47.   37 And he raiseth up a righteous nation, and destroyeth the nations of the wicked.
38 And he leadeth away the righteous into precious lands, and the wicked he destroyeth, and curseth the land unto them for their sakes.
  48.   16 For the time soon cometh that the fulness of the wrath of God shall be poured out upon all the children of men; for he will not suffer that the wicked shall destroy the righteous.
  49.   23 Who justify the wicked for reward, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him!
  50.   4 But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth; and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.

  51.   9 And with righteousness shall the Lord God judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth. And he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth; and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.
  52.   57 And now I say unto you, all you that are desirous to follow the voice of the good shepherd, come ye out from the wicked, and be ye separate, and touch not their unclean things; and behold, their names shall be blotted out, that the names of the wicked shall not be numbered among the names of the righteous, that the word of God may be fulfilled, which saith: The names of the wicked shall not be mingled with the names of my people;
  53.   44 Now, this restoration shall come to all, both old and young, both bond and free, both male and female, both the wicked and the righteous; and even there shall not so much as a hair of their heads be lost; but every thing shall be restored to its perfect frame, as it is now, or in the body, and shall be brought and be arraigned before the bar of Christ the Son, and God the Father, and the Holy Spirit, which is one Eternal God, to be judged according to their works, whether they be good or whether they be evil.
  54.   14 Now this is the state of the souls of the wicked, yea, in darkness, and a state of awful, fearful looking for the fiery indignation of the wrath of God upon them; thus they remain in this state, as well as the righteous in paradise, until the time of their resurrection.
          •  •  •
19 Now, whether the souls and the bodies of those of whom has been spoken shall all be reunited at once, the wicked as well as the righteous, I do not say; let it suffice, that I say that they all come forth; or in other words, their resurrection cometh to pass before the resurrection of those who die after the resurrection of Christ.
          •  •  •
26 But behold, an awful death cometh upon the wicked; for they die as to things pertaining to things of righteousness; for they are unclean, and no unclean thing can inherit the kingdom of God; but they are cast out, and consigned to partake of the fruits of their labors or their works, which have been evil; and they drink the dregs of a bitter cup.
  55.   10 Yea, we see that Amalickiah, because he was a man of cunning device and a man of many flattering words, that he led away the hearts of many people to do wickedly; yea, and to seek to destroy the church of God, and to destroy the foundation of liberty which God had granted unto them, or which blessing God had sent upon the face of the land for the righteous’ sake.
  56.   39 Behold, it came to pass that the son of Nephihah was appointed to fill the judgment-seat, in the stead of his father; yea, he was appointed chief judge and governor over the people, with an oath and sacred ordinance to judge righteously, and to keep the peace and the freedom of the people, and to grant unto them their sacred privileges to worship the Lord their God, yea, to support and maintain the cause of God all his days, and to bring the wicked to justice according to their crime.
  57.   13 For the Lord suffereth the righteous to be slain that his justice and judgment may come upon the wicked; therefore ye need not suppose that the righteous are lost because they are slain; but behold, they do enter into the rest of the Lord their God.
  58.   31 And now behold, he had got great hold upon the hearts of the Nephites; yea, insomuch that they had become exceedingly wicked; yea, the more part of them had turned out of the way of righteousness, and did trample under their feet the commandments of God, and did turn unto their own ways, and did build up unto themselves idols of their gold and their silver.
          •  •  •
38 And it came to pass on the other hand, that the Nephites did build them up and support them, beginning at the more wicked part of them, until they had overspread all the land of the Nephites, and had seduced the more part of the righteous until they had come down to believe in their works and partake of their spoils, and to join with them in their secret murders and combinations.
  59.   5 Condemning the righteous because of their righteousness; letting the guilty and the wicked go unpunished because of their money; and moreover to be held in office at the head of government, to rule and do according to their wills, that they might get gain and glory of the world, and, moreover, that they might the more easily commit adultery, and steal, and kill, and do according to their own wills—
  60.   7 And they did cause a great contention in the land, insomuch that the more righteous part of the people had nearly all become wicked; yea, there were but few righteous men among them.
  61.   18 Then shall ye return and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not.
  62.   37 But as you cannot always judge the righteous, or as you cannot always tell the wicked from the righteous, therefore I say unto you, hold your peace until I shall see fit to make all things known unto the world concerning the matter.
  63.   11 For I will reveal myself from heaven with power and great glory, with all the hosts thereof, and dwell in righteousness with men on earth a thousand years, and the wicked shall not stand.
          •  •  •
      27 And the righteous shall be gathered on my right hand unto eternal life; and the wicked on my left hand will I be ashamed to own before the Father;
  64.   37 And that every man should take righteousness in his hands and faithfulness upon his loins, and lift a warning voice unto the inhabitants of the earth; and declare both by word and by flight that desolation shall come upon the wicked.
          •  •  •
54 And until that hour there will be foolish virgins among the wise; and at that hour cometh an entire separation of the righteous and the wicked; and in that day will I send mine angels to pluck out the wicked and cast them into unquenchable fire.
  65.   53 And by this you may know the righteous from the wicked, and that the whole world groaneth under sin and darkness even now.
  66.   95 That I may proceed to bring to pass my act, my strange act, and perform my work, my strange work, that men may discern between the righteous and the wicked, saith your God.
  67.
