And now behold, I say unto you, my brethren, you that belong to this church, have you sufficiently retained in remembrance the captivity of your fathers? Yea, and have you
sufficiently retained in remembrance his mercy and long-suffering
towards them? And moreover, have ye sufficiently retained in
remembrance that he has delivered their souls from hell?

And now I ask of you, my brethren, were they destroyed? Behold, I say unto you, Nay, they were not.

And now behold, I ask of you, my brethren
of the church, have ye spiritually been born of God? Have ye received
his image in your countenances? Have ye experienced this mighty change
in your hearts?

22
And now I ask of you, my brethren, how will any of you
feel, if ye shall stand before the bar of God, having your garments
stained with blood and all manner of filthiness? Behold, what will
these things testify against you?

And now behold, I say unto you, my brethren,
if ye have experienced a change of heart, and if ye have felt to sing
the song of redeeming love, I would ask, can ye feel so now?

And again, I exhort you, my brethren,
that ye deny not the gifts of God, for they are many; and they come
from the same God. And there are different ways that these gifts are
administered; but it is the same God who worketh all in all; and they
are given by the manifestations of the Spirit of God unto men, to profit
them.

And I would exhort you, my beloved brethren, that ye remember that every good gift cometh of Christ.
19
And I would exhort you, my beloved brethren,
that ye remember that he is the same yesterday, today, and forever, and
that all these gifts of which I have spoken, which are spiritual, never
will be done away, even as long as the world shall stand, only
according to the unbelief of the children of men.
