8
And he that is to be cleansed shall wash his clothes, and shave off all his hair, and wash himself in water, that he may be clean: and after that he shall come into the camp, and shall tarry abroad out of his tent seven days.
• • •
35
And he that owneth the house shall come and tell the priest, saying, It seemeth to me there is as it were a plague in the house:
• • •
39
And the priest shall come again the seventh day, and shall look: and, behold, if the plague be spread in the walls of the house;
• • •
44
Then the priest shall come and look, and, behold, if the plague be spread in the house, it is a fretting leprosy in the house: it is unclean.
• • •
48
And if the priest shall come in, and look upon it, and, behold, the plague hath not spread in the house, after the house was plaistered: then the priest shall pronounce the house clean, because the plague is healed.
1
And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:
2
And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God.
• • •
7
The Lord shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways.
• • •
15
¶ But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee:
• • •
24
The Lord shall make the rain of thy land powder and dust: from heaven shall it come down upon thee, until thou be destroyed.
• • •
45
Moreover all these curses shall come upon thee, and shall pursue thee, and overtake thee, till thou be destroyed; because thou hearkenedst not unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which he commanded thee:
• • •
63
And it shall come to pass, that as the Lord rejoiced over you to do you good, and to multiply you; so the Lord will rejoice over you to destroy you, and to bring you to nought; and ye shall be plucked from off the land whither thou goest to possess it.
7
Thus saith the Lord God, It shall not stand, neither shall it come to pass.
• • •
18
And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall hiss for the fly that is in the uttermost part of the rivers of Egypt, and for the bee that is in the land of Assyria.
19
And they shall come, and shall rest all of them in the desolate valleys, and in the holes of the rocks, and upon all thorns, and upon all bushes.
• • •
21
And it shall come to pass in that day, that a man shall nourish a young cow, and two sheep;
22
And it shall come to pass, for the abundance of milk that they shall give he shall eat butter: for butter and honey shall every one eat that is left in the land.
23
And it shall come to pass in that day, that every place shall be, where there were a thousand vines at a thousand silverlings, it shall even be for briers and thorns.
24
With arrows and with bows shall men come thither; because all the land shall become briers and thorns.
25
And on all hills that shall be digged with the mattock, there shall not come thither the fear of briers and thorns: but it shall be for the sending forth of oxen, and for the treading of lesser cattle.
3
And what will ye do in the day of visitation, and in the desolation which shall come from far? to whom will ye flee for help? and where will ye leave your glory?
• • •
12
Wherefore it shall come to pass, that
when the Lord hath performed his whole work upon mount Zion and on
Jerusalem, I will punish the fruit of the stout heart of the king of
Assyria, and the glory of his high looks.
• • •
20
¶ And it shall come to pass in that day, that the remnant of Israel, and such as are escaped of the house of Jacob, shall no more again stay upon him that smote them; but shall stay upon the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, in truth.
• • •
27
And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.
3
And it shall come to pass in the day that the Lord shall give thee rest from thy sorrow, and from thy fear, and from the hard bondage wherein thou wast made to serve,
• • •
24
¶ The Lord of hosts hath sworn, saying, Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, so shall it stand:
• • •
29
¶ Rejoice not thou, whole Palestina, because the rod of him that smote thee is broken: for out of the serpent’s root shall come forth a cockatrice, and his fruit shall be a fiery flying serpent.
• • •
31
Howl, O gate; cry, O city; thou, whole Palestina, art dissolved: for there shall come from the north a smoke, and none shall be alone in his appointed times.
3
And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.
4
Lift up thine eyes round about, and see: all they gather themselves together, they come to thee: thy sons shall come from far, and thy daughters shall be nursed at thy side.
5
Then thou shalt see, and flow together, and thine heart shall fear, and be enlarged; because the abundance of the sea shall be converted unto thee, the forces of the Gentiles shall come unto thee.
6
The multitude of camels shall cover thee, the dromedaries of Midian and Ephah; all they from Sheba shall come: they shall bring gold and incense; and they shall shew forth the praises of the Lord.
7
All the flocks of Kedar shall be gathered together unto thee, the rams of Nebaioth shall minister unto thee: they shall come up with acceptance on mine altar, and I will glorify the house of my glory.
• • •
13
The glory of Lebanon shall come
unto thee, the fir tree, the pine tree, and the box together, to
beautify the place of my sanctuary; and I will make the place of my feet
glorious.
14
The sons also of them that afflicted thee shall come bending unto thee; and all they that despised thee shall bow themselves down at the soles of thy feet; and they shall call thee, The city of the Lord, The Zion of the Holy One of Israel.
9
They shall come with
weeping, and with supplications will I lead them: I will cause them to
walk by the rivers of waters in a straight way, wherein they shall not stumble: for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn.
• • •
12
Therefore they shall come and sing in the height of Zion, and shall flow together to the goodness of the Lord, for wheat, and for wine, and for oil, and for the young of the flock and of the herd: and their soul shall be as a watered garden; and they shall not sorrow any more at all.
• • •
16
Thus saith the Lord; Refrain thy voice from weeping, and thine eyes from tears: for thy work shall be rewarded, saith the Lord; and they shall come again from the land of the enemy.
17
And there is hope in thine end, saith the Lord, that thy children shall come again to their own border.
• • •
28
And it shall come to pass, that
like as I have watched over them, to pluck up, and to break down, and
to throw down, and to destroy, and to afflict; so will I watch over
them, to build, and to plant, saith the Lord.
4
Wherefore gloriest thou in the valleys, thy flowing valley, O backsliding daughter? that trusted in her treasures, saying, Who shall come unto me?
• • •
19
Behold, he shall come
up like a lion from the swelling of Jordan against the habitation of
the strong: but I will suddenly make him run away from her: and who is a chosen man, that I may appoint over her? for who is like me? and who will appoint me the time? and who is that shepherd that will stand before me?
• • •
22
Behold, he shall come up and fly as the eagle, and spread his wings over Bozrah: and at that day shall the heart of the mighty men of Edom be as the heart of a woman in her pangs.
• • •
36
And upon Elam will I bring the four winds from the four quarters of
heaven, and will scatter them toward all those winds; and there shall be no nation whither the outcasts of Elam shall not come.
• • •
39
¶ But it shall come to pass in the latter days, that I will bring again the captivity of Elam, saith the Lord.
33
For thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; The daughter of Babylon is like a threshingfloor, it is time to thresh her: yet a little while, and the time of her harvest shall come.
• • •
46
And lest your heart faint, and ye fear for the rumour that shall be heard in the land; a rumour shall both come one year, and after that in another year shall come a rumour, and violence in the land, ruler against ruler.
• • •
48
Then the heaven and the earth, and all that is therein, shall sing for Babylon: for the spoilers shall come unto her from the north, saith the Lord.
• • •
53
Though Babylon should mount up to heaven, and though she should fortify the height of her strength, yet from me shall spoilers come unto her, saith the Lord.
13
And they shall not come near unto me, to do the office of a priest unto me, nor to come near to any of my holy things, in the most holy place: but they shall bear their shame, and their abominations which they have committed.
• • •
15
¶ But the priests the Levites, the sons of Zadok, that kept the charge
of my sanctuary when the children of Israel went astray from me, they shall come near to me to minister unto me, and they shall stand before me to offer unto me the fat and the blood, saith the Lord God:
16
They shall enter into my sanctuary, and they shall come near to my table, to minister unto me, and they shall keep my charge.
17
¶ And it shall come to pass, that when they enter in at the gates of the inner court, they shall be clothed with linen garments; and no wool shall come upon them, whiles they minister in the gates of the inner court, and within.
• • •
25
And they shall come
at no dead person to defile themselves: but for father, or for mother,
or for son, or for daughter, for brother, or for sister that hath had no
husband, they may defile themselves.
9
And it shall come to pass, that every thing that liveth, which moveth, whithersoever the rivers shall come, shall live: and there shall be a very great multitude of fish, because these waters shall come thither: for they shall be healed; and every thing shall live whither the river cometh.
10
And it shall come to pass, that the fishers shall stand upon it from En-gedi even unto En-eglaim; they shall be a place to spread forth nets; their fish shall be according to their kinds, as the fish of the great sea, exceeding many.
• • •
22
¶ And it shall come to pass, that ye shall divide it by lot for an inheritance unto you, and to the strangers that sojourn among you, which shall beget children among you: and they shall be unto you as born in the country among the children of Israel; they shall have inheritance with you among the tribes of Israel.
23
And it shall come to pass, that in what tribe the stranger sojourneth, there shall ye give him his inheritance, saith the Lord God.
6
And in the end of years they shall join themselves together; for the king’s daughter of the south shall come to the king of the north to make an agreement: but she shall not retain the power of the arm; neither shall he stand, nor his arm: but she shall be given up, and they that brought her, and he that begat her, and he that strengthened her in these times.
7
But out of a branch of her roots shall one stand up in his estate, which shall come with an army, and shall enter into the fortress of the king of the north, and shall deal against them, and shall prevail:
• • •
9
So the king of the south shall come into his kingdom, and shall return into his own land.
10
But his sons shall be stirred up, and shall assemble a multitude of great forces: and one shall certainly come, and overflow, and pass through: then shall he return, and be stirred up, even to his fortress.
11
And the king of the south shall be moved with choler, and shall come forth and fight with him, even with the king of the north: and he shall set forth a great multitude; but the multitude shall be given into his hand.
• • •
13
For the king of the north shall return, and shall set forth a multitude greater than the former, and shall certainly come after certain years with a great army and with much riches.
• • •
15
So the king of the north shall come, and cast up a mount, and take the most fenced cities: and the arms of the south shall not withstand, neither his chosen people, neither shall there be any strength to withstand.
• • •
21
And in his estate shall stand up a vile person, to whom they shall not give the honour of the kingdom: but he shall come in peaceably, and obtain the kingdom by flatteries.
• • •
23
And after the league made with him he shall work deceitfully: for he shall come up, and shall become strong with a small people.
• • •
30
¶ For the ships of Chittim shall come against him: therefore he shall be grieved, and return, and have indignation against the holy covenant: so shall he do; he shall even return, and have intelligence with them that forsake the holy covenant.
• • •
40
And at the time of the end shall the king of the south push at him: and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over.
• • •
45
And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.
13
And it shall come to pass, that as ye were a curse among the heathen, O house of Judah, and house of Israel; so will I save you, and ye shall be a blessing: fear not, but let your hands be strong.
• • •
20
Thus saith the Lord of hosts; It shall yet come to pass, that there shall come people, and the inhabitants of many cities:
• • •
22
Yea, many people and strong nations shall come to seek the Lord of hosts in Jerusalem, and to pray before the Lord.
23
Thus saith the Lord of hosts; In those days it shall come to pass, that ten men shall take hold out of all languages of the nations, even shall take hold of the skirt of him that is a Jew, saying, We will go with you: for we have heard that God is with you.
2
¶ And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord of hosts, that I will cut off the names of the idols out of the land, and they shall no more be remembered: and also I will cause the prophets and the unclean spirit to pass out of the land.
3
And it shall come to pass, that when any shall yet prophesy, then his father and his mother that begat him shall say unto him, Thou shalt not live; for thou speakest lies in the name of the Lord: and his father and his mother that begat him shall thrust him through when he prophesieth.
4
And it shall come to pass in that day, that the prophets shall be ashamed every one of his vision, when he hath prophesied; neither shall they wear a rough garment to deceive:
• • •
8
And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the Lord, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein.
5
And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the Lord my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.
6
And it shall come to pass in that day, that the light shall not be clear, nor dark:
7
But it shall be one day which shall be known to the Lord, not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be light.
• • •
13
And it shall come to pass in that day, that a great tumult from the Lord shall be among them; and they shall lay hold every one on the hand of his neighbour, and his hand shall rise up against the hand of his neighbour.
• • •
16
¶ And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.
• • •
21
Yea, every pot in Jerusalem and in Judah shall be holiness unto the Lord of hosts: and all they that sacrifice shall come and take of them, and seethe therein: and in that day there shall be no more the Canaanite in the house of the Lord of hosts.
1
And now it came to pass that after I, Nephi, had read these
things which were engraven upon the plates of brass, my brethren came
unto me and said unto me: What meaneth these things which ye have read?
Behold, are they to be understood according to things which are
spiritual, which shall come to pass according to the spirit and not the flesh?
2
And I, Nephi, said unto them: Behold they were manifest unto the prophet
by the voice of the Spirit; for by the Spirit are all things made known
unto the prophets, which shall come upon the children of men according to the flesh.
• • •
20
And the Lord will surely prepare a way for his people, unto the
fulfilling of the words of Moses, which he spake, saying: A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you. And it shall come to pass that all those who will not hear that prophet shall be cut off from among the people.
• • •
23
For the time speedily shall come
that all churches which are built up to get gain, and all those who are
built up to get power over the flesh, and those who are built up to
become popular in the eyes of the world, and those who seek the lusts of
the flesh and the things of the world, and to do all manner of
iniquity; yea, in fine, all those who belong to the kingdom of the devil
are they who need fear, and tremble, and quake; they are those who must
be brought low in the dust; they are those who must be consumed as
stubble; and this is according to the words of the prophet.
2
And it shall come to pass in the last days, when the mountain of the Lord’s house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills, and all nations shall flow unto it.
• • •
11
And it shall come to pass that the lofty looks of man shall be humbled, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and the Lord alone shall be exalted in that day.
• • •
13
Yea, and the day of the Lord shall come upon all the cedars of Lebanon, for they are high and lifted up; and upon all the oaks of Bashan;
• • •
19
And they shall go into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of the earth, for the fear of the Lord shall come upon them and the glory of his majesty shall smite them, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth.
• • •
21
To go into the clefts of the rocks, and into the tops of the ragged rocks, for the fear of the Lord shall come upon them and the majesty of his glory shall smite them, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth.
7
Thus saith the Lord God: It shall not stand, neither shall it come to pass.
• • •
18
And it shall come to pass in that day that the Lord shall hiss for the fly that is in the uttermost part of Egypt, and for the bee that is in the land of Assyria.
19
And they shall come, and shall rest all of them in the desolate valleys, and in the holes of the rocks, and upon all thorns, and upon all bushes.
• • •
21
And it shall come to pass in that day, a man shall nourish a young cow and two sheep;
22
And it shall come to pass, for the abundance of milk they shall give he shall eat butter; for butter and honey shall every one eat that is left in the land.
23
And it shall come to pass in that day, every place shall be, where there were a thousand vines at a thousand silverlings, which shall be for briers and thorns.
24
With arrows and with bows shall men come thither, because all the land shall become briers and thorns.
25
And all hills that shall be digged with the mattock, there shall not come thither the fear of briers and thorns; but it shall be for the sending forth of oxen, and the treading of lesser cattle.
3
And what will ye do in the day of visitation, and in the desolation which shall come from far? to whom will ye flee for help? and where will ye leave your glory?
• • •
12
Wherefore it shall come
to pass that when the Lord hath performed his whole work upon Mount
Zion and upon Jerusalem, I will punish the fruit of the stout heart of
the king of Assyria, and the glory of his high looks.
• • •
20
And it shall come to pass in that day, that the remnant of Israel, and such as are escaped of the house of Jacob, shall no more again stay upon him that smote them, but shall stay upon the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, in truth.
• • •
27
And it shall come to pass in that day that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.
3
And it shall come to pass in that day that the Lord shall give thee rest, from thy sorrow, and from thy fear, and from the hard bondage wherein thou wast made to serve.
4
And it shall come to
pass in that day, that thou shalt take up this proverb against the king
of Babylon, and say: How hath the oppressor ceased, the golden city
ceased!
• • •
24
The Lord of Hosts hath sworn, saying: Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, so shall it stand—
• • •
29
Rejoice not thou, whole Palestina, because the rod of him that smote thee is broken; for out of the serpent’s root shall come forth a cockatrice, and his fruit shall be a fiery flying serpent.
• • •
31
Howl, O gate; cry, O city; thou, whole Palestina, art dissolved; for there shall come from the north a smoke, and none shall be alone in his appointed times.
7
But behold, I proceed with mine own prophecy, according to my plainness;
in the which I know that no man can err; nevertheless, in the days that
the prophecies of Isaiah shall be fulfilled men shall know of a surety, at the times when they shall come to pass.
• • •
14
And behold it shall come
to pass that after the Messiah hath risen from the dead, and hath
manifested himself unto his people, unto as many as will believe on his
name, behold, Jerusalem shall be destroyed again; for wo unto them that fight against God and the people of his church.
• • •
16
And after they have been scattered, and the Lord God hath scourged them
by other nations for the space of many generations, yea, even down from
generation to generation until they shall be persuaded to believe in Christ, the Son of God, and the atonement, which is infinite for all mankind—and when that day shall come that they shall
believe in Christ, and worship the Father in his name, with pure hearts
and clean hands, and look not forward any more for another Messiah,
then, at that time, the day will come that it must needs be expedient that they should believe these things.
1
But, behold, in the last days, or in the days of the
Gentiles—yea, behold all the nations of the Gentiles and also the Jews,
both those who shall come upon this land and those who shall
be upon other lands, yea, even upon all the lands of the earth, behold,
they will be drunken with iniquity and all manner of abominations—
2
And when that day shall come they shall
be visited of the Lord of Hosts, with thunder and with earthquake, and
with a great noise, and with storm, and with tempest, and with the flame
of devouring fire.
• • •
6
And it shall come to pass that the Lord God shall bring forth unto you the words of a book, and they shall be the words of them which have slumbered.
• • •
15
But behold, it shall come to pass that the Lord God shall say unto him to whom he shall
deliver the book: Take these words which are not sealed and deliver
them to another, that he may show them unto the learned, saying: Read
this, I pray thee. And the learned shall say: Bring hither the book, and I will read them.
• • •
19
Wherefore it shall come
to pass, that the Lord God will deliver again the book and the words
thereof to him that is not learned; and the man that is not learned shall say: I am not learned.
• • •
24
And again it shall come to pass that the Lord shall say unto him that shall read the words that shall be delivered him:
• • •
35
They also that erred in spirit shall come to understanding, and they that murmured shall learn doctrine.
7
And ye have led away much of this people that they pervert the right way
of God, and keep not the law of Moses which is the right way; and
convert the law of Moses into the worship of a being which ye say shall come
many hundred years hence. And now behold, I, Sherem, declare unto you
that this is blasphemy; for no man knoweth of such things; for he cannot
tell of things to come. And after this manner did Sherem contend against me.
• • •
9
And I said unto him: Deniest thou the Christ who shall come?
And he said: If there should be a Christ, I would not deny him; but I
know that there is no Christ, neither has been, nor ever will be.
• • •
14
And I said unto him: What am I that I should tempt God to show unto thee
a sign in the thing which thou knowest to be true? Yet thou wilt deny
it, because thou art of the devil. Nevertheless, not my will be done;
but if God shall smite thee, let that be a sign unto thee that he has power, both in heaven and in earth; and also, that Christ shall come. And thy will, O Lord, be done, and not mine.
5
For behold, the time cometh, and is not far distant, that with power,
the Lord Omnipotent who reigneth, who was, and is from all eternity to
all eternity, shall come down from heaven among the children of men, and shall dwell in a tabernacle of clay, and shall
go forth amongst men, working mighty miracles, such as healing the
sick, raising the dead, causing the lame to walk, the blind to receive
their sight, and the deaf to hear, and curing all manner of diseases.
• • •
20
And moreover, I say unto you, that the time shall come when the knowledge of a Savior shall spread throughout every nation, kindred, tongue, and people.
2
Yea, wo be unto this generation! And the Lord said unto me: Stretch
forth thy hand and prophesy, saying: Thus saith the Lord, it shall come to pass that this generation, because of their iniquities, shall be brought into bondage, and shall be smitten on the cheek; yea, and shall be driven by men, and shall be slain; and the vultures of the air, and the dogs, yea, and the wild beasts, shall devour their flesh.
3
And it shall come to pass that the life of king Noah shall be valued even as a garment in a hot furnace; for he shall know that I am the Lord.
4
And it shall come to
pass that I will smite this my people with sore afflictions, yea, with
famine and with pestilence; and I will cause that they shall howl all the day long.
• • •
6
And it shall come to pass that I will send forth hail among them, and it shall smite them; and they shall also be smitten with the east wind; and insects shall pester their land also, and devour their grain.
• • •
8
And it shall come to pass that except they repent I will utterly destroy them from off the face of the earth; yet they shall leave a record behind them, and I will preserve them for other nations which shall
possess the land; yea, even this will I do that I may discover the
abominations of this people to other nations. And many things did
Abinadi prophesy against this people.
• • •
12
And again, he saith thou shalt be as the blossoms of a thistle, which,
when it is fully ripe, if the wind bloweth, it is driven forth upon the
face of the land. And he pretendeth the Lord hath spoken it. And he
saith all this shall come upon thee except thou repent, and this because of thine iniquities.
• • •
15
And behold, we are strong, we shall not come into bondage, or be taken captive by our enemies; yea, and thou hast prospered in the land, and thou shalt also prosper.
• • •
31
And it shall come to pass that ye shall
be smitten for your iniquities, for ye have said that ye teach the law
of Moses. And what know ye concerning the law of Moses? Doth salvation
come by the law of Moses? What say ye?
29
Behold, I say, is there one among you who is not stripped of envy? I
say unto you that such an one is not prepared; and I would that he
should prepare quickly, for the hour is close at hand, and he knoweth
not when the time shall come; for such an one is not found guiltless.
• • •
48
I say unto you, that I know of myself that whatsoever I shall say unto you, concerning that which is to come, is true; and I say unto you, that I know that Jesus Christ shall come,
yea, the Son, the Only Begotten of the Father, full of grace, and
mercy, and truth. And behold, it is he that cometh to take away the
sins of the world, yea, the sins of every man who steadfastly believeth
on his name.
32
And Zeezrom said again: Who is he that shall come? Is it the Son of God?
• • •
35
Now Zeezrom said unto the people: See that ye remember these things; for
he said there is but one God; yet he saith that the Son of God shall come, but he shall not save his people—as though he had authority to command God.
• • •
40
And he shall come into the world to redeem his people; and he shall take upon him the transgressions of those who believe on his name; and these are they that shall have eternal life, and salvation cometh to none else.
• • •
44
Now, this restoration shall come to all, both old and young, both bond and free, both male and female, both the wicked and the righteous; and even there shall not so much as a hair of their heads be lost; but every thing shall be restored to its perfect frame, as it is now, or in the body, and shall
be brought and be arraigned before the bar of Christ the Son, and God
the Father, and the Holy Spirit, which is one Eternal God, to be judged
according to their works, whether they be good or whether they be evil.
4
Behold, there is a time appointed that all shall come forth from the dead. Now when this time cometh no one knows; but God knoweth the time which is appointed.
5
Now, whether there shall be one time, or a second time, or a third time, that men shall come
forth from the dead, it mattereth not; for God knoweth all these
things; and it sufficeth me to know that this is the case—that there is a
time appointed that all shall rise from the dead.
• • •
12
And then shall it come
to pass, that the spirits of those who are righteous are received into a
state of happiness, which is called paradise, a state of rest, a state
of peace, where they shall rest from all their troubles and from all care, and sorrow.
13
And then shall it come
to pass, that the spirits of the wicked, yea, who are evil—for behold,
they have no part nor portion of the Spirit of the Lord; for behold,
they chose evil works rather than good; therefore the spirit of the
devil did enter into them, and take possession of their house—and these shall be cast out into outer darkness; there shall
be weeping, and wailing, and gnashing of teeth, and this because of
their own iniquity, being led captive by the will of the devil.
• • •
21
But whether it be at his resurrection or after, I do not say; but this
much I say, that there is a space between death and the resurrection of
the body, and a state of the soul in happiness or in misery until the
time which is appointed of God that the dead shall come forth, and be reunited, both soul and body, and be brought to stand before God, and be judged according to their works.
6
Yea, heavy destruction awaiteth this people, and it surely cometh unto
this people, and nothing can save this people save it be repentance and
faith on the Lord Jesus Christ, who surely shall come into the world, and shall suffer many things and shall be slain for his people.
• • •
10
Yea, I will visit them in my fierce anger, and there shall be those of the fourth generation who shall live, of your enemies, to behold your utter destruction; and this shall surely come except ye repent, saith the Lord; and those of the fourth generation shall visit your destruction.
• • •
17
And behold, a curse shall come
upon the land, saith the Lord of Hosts, because of the peoples’ sake
who are upon the land, yea, because of their wickedness and their
abominations.
18
And it shall come to pass, saith the Lord of Hosts, yea, our great and true God, that whoso shall hide up treasures in the earth shall find them again no more, because of the great curse of the land, save he be a righteous man and shall hide it up unto the Lord.
• • •
20
And the day shall come that they shall
hide up their treasures, because they have set their hearts upon
riches; and because they have set their hearts upon their riches, and
will hide up their treasures when they shall
flee before their enemies; because they will not hide them up unto me,
cursed be they and also their treasures; and in that day shall they be smitten, saith the Lord.
• • •
27
But behold, if a man shall come among you and shall say: Do this, and there is no iniquity; do that and ye shall
not suffer; yea, he will say: Walk after the pride of your own hearts;
yea, walk after the pride of your eyes, and do whatsoever your heart
desireth—and if a man shall come among you and say this, ye will receive him, and say that he is a prophet.
20
And it shall come to pass, saith the Father, that the sword of my justice shall hang over them at that day; and except they repent it shall fall upon them, saith the Father, yea, even upon all the nations of the Gentiles.
21
And it shall come to pass that I will establish my people, O house of Israel.
• • •
23
Behold, I am he of whom Moses spake, saying: A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you. And it shall come to pass that every soul who will not hear that prophet shall be cut off from among the people.
• • •
30
And it shall come to pass that the time cometh, when the fulness of my gospel shall be preached unto them;
• • •
46
Verily, verily, I say unto you, all these things shall surely come, even as the Father hath commanded me. Then shall this covenant which the Father hath covenanted with his people be fulfilled; and then shall Jerusalem be inhabited again with my people, and it shall be the land of their inheritance.
3
Verily, verily, I say unto you, when these things shall be made known unto them of the Father, and shall come forth of the Father, from them unto you;
• • •
5
Therefore, when these works and the works which shall be wrought among you hereafter shall come forth from the Gentiles, unto your seed which shall dwindle in unbelief because of iniquity;
• • •
8
And when that day shall come, it shall come to pass that kings shall shut their mouths; for that which had not been told them shall they see; and that which they had not heard shall they consider.
• • •
11
Therefore it shall come to pass that whosoever will not believe in my words, who am Jesus Christ, which the Father shall cause him to bring forth unto the Gentiles, and shall give unto him power that he shall bring them forth unto the Gentiles, (it shall be done even as Moses said) they shall be cut off from among my people who are of the covenant.
• • •
14
Yea, wo be unto the Gentiles except they repent; for it shall come
to pass in that day, saith the Father, that I will cut off thy horses
out of the midst of thee, and I will destroy thy chariots;
• • •
19
And it shall come to pass that all lyings, and deceivings, and envyings, and strifes, and priestcrafts, and whoredoms, shall be done away.
20
For it shall come to pass, saith the Father, that at that day whosoever will not repent and come unto my Beloved Son, them will I cut off from among my people, O house of Israel;
• • •
22
But if they will repent and hearken unto my words, and harden not their hearts, I will establish my church among them, and they shall come in unto the covenant and be numbered among this the remnant of Jacob, unto whom I have given this land for their inheritance;
23
And they shall assist my people, the remnant of Jacob, and also as many of the house of Israel as shall come, that they may build a city, which shall be called the New Jerusalem.
3
And he said unto them: Blessed are ye because ye desired this thing of
me; therefore, after that ye are seventy and two years old ye shall come unto me in my kingdom; and with me ye shall find rest.
• • •
7
Therefore, more blessed are ye, for ye shall never taste of death; but ye shall live to behold all the doings of the Father unto the children of men, even until all things shall be fulfilled according to the will of the Father, when I shall come in my glory with the powers of heaven.
8
And ye shall never endure the pains of death; but when I shall come in my glory ye shall be changed in the twinkling of an eye from mortality to immortality; and then shall ye be blessed in the kingdom of my Father.
• • •
29
And it shall come to pass, when the Lord seeth fit in his wisdom that they shall minister unto all the scattered tribes of Israel, and unto all nations, kindreds, tongues and people, and shall
bring out of them unto Jesus many souls, that their desire may be
fulfilled, and also because of the convincing power of God which is in
them.
26
And no one need say they shall not come, for they surely shall, for the Lord hath spoken it; for out of the earth shall they come, by the hand of the Lord, and none can stay it; and it shall come in a day when it shall be said that miracles are done away; and it shall come even as if one should speak from the dead.
27
And it shall come in a day when the blood of saints shall cry unto the Lord, because of secret combinations and the works of darkness.
28
Yea, it shall come in a day when the power of God shall
be denied, and churches become defiled and be lifted up in the pride of
their hearts; yea, even in a day when leaders of churches and teachers shall rise in the pride of their hearts, even to the envying of them who belong to their churches.
29
Yea, it shall come in a day when there shall be heard of fires, and tempests, and vapors of smoke in foreign lands;
• • •
31
Yea, it shall come in a day when there shall be great pollutions upon the face of the earth; there shall be murders, and robbing, and lying, and deceivings, and whoredoms, and all manner of abominations; when there shall
be many who will say, Do this, or do that, and it mattereth not, for
the Lord will uphold such at the last day. But wo unto such, for they
are in the gall of bitterness and in the bonds of iniquity.
32
Yea, it shall come in a day when there shall be churches built up that shall say: Come unto me, and for your money you shall be forgiven of your sins.
• • •
34
Behold, the Lord hath shown unto me great and marvelous things concerning that which must shortly come, at that day when these things shall come forth among you.
2
Behold, will ye believe in the day of your visitation—behold, when the Lord shall come, yea, even that great day when the earth shall be rolled together as a scroll, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, yea, in that great day when ye shall be brought to stand before the Lamb of God—then will ye say that there is no God?
• • •
13
And because of the redemption of man, which came by Jesus Christ, they
are brought back into the presence of the Lord; yea, this is wherein all
men are redeemed, because the death of Christ bringeth to pass the
resurrection, which bringeth to pass a redemption from an endless sleep,
from which sleep all men shall be awakened by the power of God when the trump shall sound; and they shall come forth, both small and great, and all shall stand before his bar, being redeemed and loosed from this eternal band of death, which death is a temporal death.
3
Behold, verily, verily, I say unto you, that at this time your sins are
forgiven you, therefore ye receive these things; but remember to sin no
more, lest perils shall come upon you.
• • •
10
For the hour is nigh, and that which was spoken by mine apostles must be fulfilled; for as they spoke so shall it come to pass;
• • •
13
For a trump shall sound both long and loud, even as upon Mount Sinai, and all the earth shall quake, and they shall come
forth—yea, even the dead which died in me, to receive a crown of
righteousness, and to be clothed upon, even as I am, to be with me, that
we may be one.
14
But, behold, I say unto you that before this great day shall come the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall be turned into blood, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and there shall be greater signs in heaven above and in the earth beneath;
• • •
17
And it shall come to
pass, because of the wickedness of the world, that I will take
vengeance upon the wicked, for they will not repent; for the cup of mine
indignation is full; for behold, my blood shall not cleanse them if they hear me not.
• • •
20
And it shall come to pass that the beasts of the forest and the fowls of the air shall devour them up.
• • •
23
And the end shall come, and the heaven and the earth shall be consumed and pass away, and there shall be a new heaven and a new earth.
• • •
26
But, behold, verily I say unto you, before the earth shall pass away, Michael, mine archangel, shall sound his trump, and then shall all the dead awake, for their graves shall be opened, and they shall come forth—yea, even all.
9
Until the time shall come when it shall be revealed unto you from on high, when the city of the New Jerusalem shall be prepared, that ye may be gathered in one, that ye may be my people and I will be your God.
10
And again, I say unto you, that my servant Edward Partridge shall stand in the office whereunto I have appointed him. And it shall come to pass, that if he transgress another shall be appointed in his stead. Even so. Amen.
• • •
32
And it shall come to
pass, that after they are laid before the bishop of my church, and
after that he has received these testimonies concerning the consecration
of the properties of my church, that they cannot be taken from the
church, agreeable to my commandments, every man shall
be made accountable unto me, a steward over his own property, or that
which he has received by consecration, as much as is sufficient for
himself and family.
• • •
36
That my covenant people may be gathered in one in that day when I shall come to my temple. And this I do for the salvation of my people.
37
And it shall come to pass, that he that sinneth and repenteth not shall be cast out of the church, and shall not receive again that which he has consecrated unto the poor and the needy of my church, or in other words, unto me—
• • •
39
For it shall come to pass, that which I spake by the mouths of my prophets shall
be fulfilled; for I will consecrate of the riches of those who embrace
my gospel among the Gentiles unto the poor of my people who are of the
house of Israel.
• • •
46
And it shall come to pass that those that die in me shall not taste of death, for it shall be sweet unto them;
• • •
48
And again, it shall come to pass that he that hath faith in me to be healed, and is not appointed unto death, shall be healed.
• • •
63
And behold, it shall come to pass that my servants shall be sent forth to the east and to the west, to the north and to the south.
• • •
79
And it shall come to pass, that if any persons among you shall kill they shall be delivered up and dealt with according to the laws of the land; for remember that he hath no forgiveness; and it shall be proved according to the laws of the land.
• • •
83
And thus ye shall do in all cases which shall come before you.
D&C 45: 12, 16-17, 19, 21, 24, 35, 39, 42, 45-46, 56, 68, 71
12
Who were separated from the earth, and were received unto myself—a city reserved until a day of righteousness shall come—a day which was sought for by all holy men, and they found it not because of wickedness and abominations;
• • •
16
And I will show it plainly as I showed it unto my disciples as I stood
before them in the flesh, and spake unto them, saying: As ye have asked
of me concerning the signs of my coming, in the day when I shall come in my glory in the clouds of heaven, to fulfil the promises that I have made unto your fathers,
17
For as ye have looked upon the long absence of your spirits from your
bodies to be a bondage, I will show unto you how the day of redemption shall come, and also the restoration of the scattered Israel.
• • •
19
But, verily I say unto you, that desolation shall come upon this generation as a thief in the night, and this people shall be destroyed and scattered among all nations.
• • •
21
And it shall come to pass, that this generation of Jews shall not pass away until every desolation which I have told you concerning them shall come to pass.
• • •
24
And this I have told you concerning Jerusalem; and when that day shall come, shall a remnant be scattered among all nations;
• • •
35
And I said unto them: Be not troubled, for, when all these things shall come to pass, ye may know that the promises which have been made unto you shall be fulfilled.
• • •
39
And it shall come to pass that he that feareth me shall be looking forth for the great day of the Lord to come, even for the signs of the coming of the Son of Man.
• • •
42
And before the day of the Lord shall come, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon be turned into blood, and the stars fall from heaven.
• • •
45
But before the arm of the Lord shall fall, an angel shall sound his trump, and the saints that have slept shall come forth to meet me in the cloud.
46
Wherefore, if ye have slept in peace blessed are you; for as you now behold me and know that I am, even so shall ye come unto me and your souls shall live, and your redemption shall be perfected; and the saints shall come forth from the four quarters of the earth.
• • •
56
And at that day, when I shall come in my glory, shall the parable be fulfilled which I spake concerning the ten virgins.
• • •
68
And it shall come to
pass among the wicked, that every man that will not take his sword
against his neighbor must needs flee unto Zion for safety.
• • •
71
And it shall come to pass that the righteous shall be gathered out from among all nations, and shall come to Zion, singing with songs of everlasting joy.
6
Wherefore, verily I say, let the wicked take heed, and let the
rebellious fear and tremble; and let the unbelieving hold their lips,
for the day of wrath shall come upon them as a whirlwind, and all flesh shall know that I am God.
• • •
15
Let such beware and repent speedily, lest judgment shall come upon them as a snare, and their folly shall be made manifest, and their works shall follow them in the eyes of the people.
• • •
20
Nevertheless, he that endureth in faith and doeth my will, the same shall overcome, and shall receive an inheritance upon the earth when the day of transfiguration shall come;
• • •
33
I have sworn in my wrath, and decreed wars upon the face of the earth, and the wicked shall slay the wicked, and fear shall come upon every man;
• • •
37
And that every man should take righteousness in his hands and
faithfulness upon his loins, and lift a warning voice unto the
inhabitants of the earth; and declare both by word and by flight that
desolation shall come upon the wicked.
• • •
49
Yea, and blessed are the dead that die in the Lord, from henceforth, when the Lord shall come, and old things shall pass away, and all things become new, they shall rise from the dead and shall not die after, and shall receive an inheritance before the Lord, in the holy city.
50
And he that liveth when the Lord shall come, and hath kept the faith, blessed is he; nevertheless, it is appointed to him to die at the age of man.
49
The light shineth in darkness, and the darkness comprehendeth it not; nevertheless, the day shall come when you shall comprehend even God, being quickened in him and by him.
• • •
91
And all things shall be in commotion; and surely, men’s hearts shall fail them; for fear shall come upon all people.
• • •
97
And they who have slept in their graves shall come forth, for their graves shall be opened; and they also shall be caught up to meet him in the midst of the pillar of heaven—
• • •
113
And the devil shall gather together his armies; even the hosts of hell, and shall come up to battle against Michael and his armies.
• • •
132
And when any shall come
in after him, let the teacher arise, and, with uplifted hands to
heaven, yea, even directly, salute his brother or brethren with these
words:
3
Yet I will own them, and they shall be mine in that day when I shall come to make up my jewels.
• • •
10
I have sworn, and the decree hath gone forth by a former commandment
which I have given unto you, that I would let fall the sword of mine
indignation in behalf of my people; and even as I have said, it shall come to pass.
• • •
32
Yea, verily I say unto you, in that day when the Lord shall come, he shall reveal all things—
• • •
45
And set watchmen round about them, and build a tower, that one may
overlook the land round about, to be a watchman upon the tower, that
mine olive-trees may not be broken down when the enemy shall come to spoil and take upon themselves the fruit of my vineyard.
• • •
65
Therefore, I must gather together my people, according to the parable of
the wheat and the tares, that the wheat may be secured in the garners
to possess eternal life, and be crowned with celestial glory, when I shall come in the kingdom of my Father to reward every man according as his work shall be;
12
I am the Lord thy God; and I give unto you this commandment—that no man shall come unto the Father but by me or by my word, which is my law, saith the Lord.
• • •
19
And again, verily I say unto you, if a man marry a wife by my word,
which is my law, and by the new and everlasting covenant, and it is
sealed unto them by the Holy Spirit of promise, by him who is anointed,
unto whom I have appointed this power and the keys of this priesthood;
and it shall be said unto them—Ye shall come forth in the first resurrection; and if it be after the first resurrection, in the next resurrection; and shall inherit thrones, kingdoms, principalities, and powers, dominions, all heights and depths—then shall it be written in the Lamb’s Book of Life, that he shall
commit no murder whereby to shed innocent blood, and if ye abide in my
covenant, and commit no murder whereby to shed innocent blood, it shall be done unto them in all things whatsoever my servant hath put upon them, in time, and through all eternity; and shall be of full force when they are out of the world; and they shall
pass by the angels, and the gods, which are set there, to their
exaltation and glory in all things, as hath been sealed upon their
heads, which glory shall be a fulness and a continuation of the seeds forever and ever.
• • •
26
Verily, verily, I say unto you, if a man marry a wife according to my
word, and they are sealed by the Holy Spirit of promise, according to
mine appointment, and he or she shall commit
any sin or transgression of the new and everlasting covenant whatever,
and all manner of blasphemies, and if they commit no murder wherein they
shed innocent blood, yet they shall come forth in the first resurrection, and enter into their exaltation; but they shall be destroyed in the flesh, and shall be delivered unto the buffetings of Satan unto the day of redemption, saith the Lord God.
2
The Lord who shall suddenly come to his temple; the Lord who shall come down upon the world with a curse to judgment; yea, upon all the nations that forget God, and upon all the ungodly among you.
• • •
15
But verily, thus saith the Lord, let not your flight be in haste, but
let all things be prepared before you; and he that goeth, let him not
look back lest sudden destruction shall come upon him.
• • •
26
And they who are in the north countries shall come in remembrance before the Lord; and their prophets shall hear his voice, and shall no longer stay themselves; and they shall smite the rocks, and the ice shall flow down at their presence.
• • •
29
And in the barren deserts there shall come forth pools of living water; and the parched ground shall no longer be a thirsty land.
• • •
56
And the graves of the saints shall be opened; and they shall come forth and stand on the right hand of the Lamb, when he shall stand upon Mount Zion, and upon the holy city, the New Jerusalem; and they shall sing the song of the Lamb, day and night forever and ever.
52
And he also said unto him: If thou wilt turn unto me, and hearken unto
my voice, and believe, and repent of all thy transgressions, and be
baptized, even in water, in the name of mine Only Begotten Son, who is
full of grace and truth, which is Jesus Christ, the only name which shall be given under heaven, whereby salvation shall come unto the children of men, ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost, asking all things in his name, and whatsoever ye shall ask, it shall be given you.
• • •
57
Wherefore teach it unto your children, that all men, everywhere, must
repent, or they can in nowise inherit the kingdom of God, for no unclean
thing can dwell there, or dwell in his presence; for, in the language
of Adam, Man of Holiness is his name, and the name of his Only Begotten
is the Son of Man, even Jesus Christ, a righteous Judge, who shall come in the meridian of time.
• • •
62
And now, behold, I say unto you: This is the plan of salvation unto all men, through the blood of mine Only Begotten, who shall come in the meridian of time.
6
For many shall come in my name, saying—I am Christ—and shall deceive many;
• • •
19
All things which have befallen them are only the beginning of the sorrows which shall come upon them.
• • •
21
Behold, these things I have spoken unto you concerning the Jews; and again, after the tribulation of those days which shall come upon Jerusalem, if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there, believe him not;
• • •
37
And whoso treasureth up my word, shall not be deceived, for the Son of Man shall come, and he shall send his angels before him with the great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together the remainder of his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
• • •

The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,
