Now I have prepared with all my might for the house of my God the gold for things to be made of gold, and the silver for things of silver, and the brass for things of brass, the iron for things of iron, and wood for things of wood; onyx stones, and stones to be set, glistering stones, and of divers colours, and all manner of precious stones, and marble stones in abundance.
3
Moreover, because I have set my affection to the house of my God, I have of mine own proper good, of gold and silver, which I have given to the house of my God, over and above all that I have prepared for the holy house,

I know also, my God,
that thou triest the heart, and hast pleasure in uprightness. As for
me, in the uprightness of mine heart I have willingly offered all these
things: and now have I seen with joy thy people, which are present here,
to offer willingly unto thee.
14
Remember me, O my God, concerning this, and wipe not out my good deeds that I have done for the house of my God, and for the offices thereof.

22
And I commanded the Levites that they should cleanse themselves, and that they should come and keep the gates, to sanctify the sabbath day. Remember me, O my God, concerning this also, and spare me according to the greatness of thy mercy.
• • •
29
Remember them, O my God, because they have defiled the priesthood, and the covenant of the priesthood, and of the Levites.

31
And for the wood offering, at times appointed, and for the firstfruits. Remember me, O my God, for good.
4
And I prayed unto the Lord my God, and made my confession, and said, O Lord, the great and dreadful God, keeping the covenant and mercy to them that love him, and to them that keep his commandments;

18
O my God, incline
thine ear, and hear; open thine eyes, and behold our desolations, and
the city which is called by thy name: for we do not present our
supplications before thee for our righteousnesses, but for thy great
mercies.
19
O Lord, hear; O Lord, forgive; O Lord, hearken and do; defer not, for thine own sake, O my God: for thy city and thy people are called by thy name.
20
¶ And whiles I was speaking, and praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the Lord my God for the holy mountain of my God;
20
My God hath been my support; he hath led me through mine afflictions in the wilderness; and he hath preserved me upon the waters of the great deep.

30
Rejoice, O my heart, and cry unto the Lord, and say: O Lord, I will praise thee forever; yea, my soul will rejoice in thee, my God, and the rock of my salvation.
• • •
35
Yea, I know that God will give liberally to him that asketh. Yea, my God will give me, if I ask not amiss; therefore I will lift up my voice unto thee; yea, I will cry unto thee, my God, the rock of my righteousness. Behold, my voice shall forever ascend up unto thee, my rock and mine everlasting God. Amen.

Now, these are the words which he said unto the people concerning the matter: I thank my God, my beloved people, that our great God
has in goodness sent these our brethren, the Nephites, unto us to
preach unto us, and to convince us of the traditions of our wicked
fathers.
8
And behold, I thank my great God
that he has given us a portion of his Spirit to soften our hearts, that
we have opened a correspondence with these brethren, the Nephites.
9
And behold, I also thank my God, that by opening this correspondence we have been convinced of our sins, and of the many murders which we have committed.
10
And I also thank my God, yea, my great God,
that he hath granted unto us that we might repent of these things, and
also that he hath forgiven us of those our many sins and murders which
we have committed, and taken away the guilt from our hearts, through the
merits of his Son.
11
But Ammon said unto him: I do not boast in my own strength, nor in my own wisdom; but behold, my joy is full, yea, my heart is brim with joy, and I will rejoice in my God.
12
Yea, I know that I am nothing; as to my strength I am weak; therefore I will not boast of myself, but I will boast of my God,
for in his strength I can do all things; yea, behold, many mighty
miracles we have wrought in this land, for which we will praise his name
forever.
• • •
35
Now have we not reason to rejoice? Yea, I say unto you, there never
were men that had so great reason to rejoice as we, since the world
began; yea, and my joy is carried away, even unto boasting in my God;
for he has all power, all wisdom, and all understanding; he
comprehendeth all things, and he is a merciful Being, even unto
salvation, to those who will repent and believe on his name.
36
Now if this is boasting, even so will I boast; for this is my life and my light, my joy and my salvation, and my redemption from everlasting wo. Yea, blessed is the name of my God,
who has been mindful of this people, who are a branch of the tree of
Israel, and has been lost from its body in a strange land; yea, I say,
blessed be the name of my God, who has been mindful of us, wanderers in a strange land.
37
Now my brethren, we see that God
is mindful of every people, whatsoever land they may be in; yea, he
numbereth his people, and his bowels of mercy are over all the earth.
Now this is my joy, and my great thanksgiving; yea, and I will give thanks unto my God forever. Amen.
28
Yea, behold I do not fear your power nor your authority, but it is my God whom I fear; and it is according to his commandments that I do take my sword to defend the cause of my country, and it is because of your iniquity that we have suffered so much loss.

And now behold, I, Moroni, am constrained, according to the covenant which I have made to keep the commandments of my God; therefore I would that ye should adhere to the word of God, and send speedily unto me of your provisions and of your men, and also to Helaman.
• • •
36
Behold, I am Moroni, your chief captain. I seek not for power, but to
pull it down. I seek not for honor of the world, but for the glory of my God, and the freedom and welfare of my country. And thus I close mine epistle.
