And the woman answered and said, As thy soul liveth, my lord the king, none can turn to the right hand or to the left from ought that my lord the king hath spoken: for thy servant Joab, he bade me, and he put all these words in the mouth of thine handmaid:
• • •
21
¶ And the king said unto Joab, Behold now, I have done this thing: go therefore, bring the young man Absalom again.

28
And Ahimaaz called, and said unto the king, All is well. And he fell down to the earth upon his face before the king, and said, Blessed be the Lord thy God, which hath delivered up the men that lifted up their hand against my lord the king.

3
And they answered the king, and said: Whether he be the Great Spirit or a man, we know not; but this much we do know, that he cannot be slain by the enemies of the king; neither can they scatter the king’s flocks when he is with us, because of his expertness and great strength; therefore, we know that he is a friend to the king. And now, O king, we do not believe that a man has such great power, for we know he cannot be slain.

unto them: Arise, for I will grant unto you your lives, and I will not
suffer that ye shall be my servants; but I will insist that ye shall

the generosity and the greatness of the words of thy brother Ammon; and
I desire to know the cause why he has not come up out of Middoni with
thee.

God, behold I will believe.

wicked spirit rooted out of my breast, and receive his Spirit, that I
may be filled with joy, that I may not be cast off at the last day?
Behold, said he, I will give up all that I possess, yea, I will forsake my kingdom, that I may receive this great joy.
